CIA leak grand jury meets, Fitzgerald in D.C.:

ABC News: “The grand jury hearing the leak investigation case is scheduled to meet at 9:30 am ET. Special prosecutor Fitzgerald is in town for a 1:30 pm ET hearing before Judge Walton in the Libby case. The hearing will be a status conference requested by Libby’s lawyers after Fitzgerald disclosed in court papers that President Bush had authorized Libby to disclose sections of the National Intelligence Estimate on Iraq’s WMD.”

Don’t get too excited over this folks. I think we still have another week or so to wait on the Rove indictment.

  2. Colorado Jyms says:

The democrats have been good ALL year. We haven’t gotten in trouble for leaks, curruption, torturing people… nothin’. I think it is time for FITZMAS!! Patrick-claus is coming to town.. Patrick Claus is coming to town!!

  5. LeisureGuy says:

Oops. Bad URL closure. I meant to say that the grand jury room is reserved for EVERY Wednesday and Friday, and that grand jury serves prosecutors other than Patrick Fitzgeralod. Look at the link that worked for more info.

  6. Zookeeper says:

I don’t think anything is happening today since it’s a status conference. But I will delay my Fitzo de Mayo celebrations for a week, if necessary.

    “Cinco de Fitzo?”

I have been trying to come up with something witty, but all I have is Fitzther’s Day.

  9. trueblue says:

Hey, Zookeeper, you beat me to it!
    I like yours better anyway!

  10. trueblue says:

    Leisure Guy,

I thought I heard her was meeting with a judge afterward.
Seems a bit more that a standard meeting, if it’s true.

Before everyone gets excited about FITZMAS finally getting here, everyone should go over to http://www.fixtnewsweek.com/. It’s a blog posting that is coming out in Newsweek about Mr. Fitzgeralds new boss being a former classmate and Skull and Bones buddy of Bush. We all know how new bosses need to make a splash and this one I expect will make a tidal wave unless the blogosphere can get into high gear and stop it before it happens.

As the blurb goes on to say, it looks like we all will be set up soon for Bush’s own version of a Saturday Night Massacre ,fire the prosecutor and exonerate his favorite mud slinger in chief ala the Rovester, afterall we all know that Bush can do this. Why you ask?

    Because HE IS THE DECIDER!

  12. Zookeeper says:

#10 – Thanks, trueblue. Re your comment at #11, a status conference is exactly what it sounds like, and they are set periodically to keep the attorneys on their toes, for what it’s worth. If there was going to be any action today, usually the attorneys would call the Judge and tell him no need for the status conf, because such and such action is being taken. I could be wrong, of course.

FITZMAS? Can’t we just move on and not use this word anymore. Christmas is gone half year ago and FEASTER just left. All we had for christmas was one indictment. FITZMAS makes me wonder, do we need to wait till the end of the year again to hear something good? I know that the jury expires soon. But, I find it lame for still hanging on to FITZMAS(7 months and counting)

  14. Mark says:

Bush is announcing a personel move this afternoon, are the two related?

  15. crawford says:

Come on, when is Bush going to get put in jail. Everyone is excited that this administration is crumbling from the foundation – but it just puts Bush in the position to hire new morons in the White House. ASK FOR HIS RESIGNATION NOW! He’s ruining our country, authorizing CIA leaks – wire taps – the war for oil – he’s a backwards robin hood, takes from the poor and gives to the rich…a crook I believe they call it. No one cares that he’s lying…how far with this good guy smile get him? all the way to jail, i hope
