[...] In a new poll conducted over the weekend it was revealed that Bush’s approval ratings have slipped three points to an all-time low of 31%! This is even lower than it was back in 2001 when Bush spent most of his presidency on vacation in Texas. Analysts assert that his declining numbers are a result of the on-going fiasco in Iraq, a weak stance on domestic issues, and what is perceived as a mass evacuation of Bush’s administration by his cohorts, such as the resignation of CIA chief Porter Goss amid a flurry of speculation regarding his role in Duke Cunningham’s poker and hooker nights at the Watergate, which the Montana Rep. used to push for defense contracts.
#6 Marie, your question is making me anguish with how to respond. If it’s OK, I’ll give you a glimpse with how this started.

I’m in an unusual and difficult situation having spent the last 30+ years smack dab in the middle of a major criminal system. While married, when they first joined, we (those who married in) were told very little. My wife seemed to know as she seemed often overwhelmed, probably with trying to find a way to accept what was happening. There’s a huge story that would explain this that I’d rather not talk about right now.

But in a basic sense, shortly after getting married the family started laundering money for a group directly linked to the Iran/Contra Affair. By laundering I mean they were given cash and given directions with how to bury developed property.

Who they were and what they were all about, wasn’t known to us at the time. This started as a process following a major incident that I don’t want to talk about now. It was one major huge thing, right after another that seemed to snowball all the way to where they were completely linked in as one of the laundering units. Because of the extreme nature of this, we were told little. But as time progressed, more surfaced throughout the family with what they were doing as well as confirmations with what had happened leading up to that point. All of this then and still is today, very scary. The family, I’m sure as a whole, is still very scared and paranoid. This is no joke! They’ve been like that ever since they joined and it ruined many relationships as well as marriages. Finally in the early 90’s, it was explained in great detail what the family was involved in. I can only best describe that time as living with complete extreme insanity.

In light of what I’ve been through and now witnessing the news pump out daily articles about scandals, Indictments and much more, you should be able to understand why I would be happy. Unfortunately, your question along with a short explanation really asks more than a few more questions. You’re correct with the public forgetting about the past and that what happened in the past is a huge collection of convoluted issues that all were important. This is now a big problem and doesn’t help everyone understand the current problem. It really is history repeating itself isn’t it? However, for me one message here is that we really didn’t do a proper job back then now did we? So something else is wrong in our ability to weed out these problems that allowed this old problem to continue.

As you mentioned, there’s been a mountain of situations, over time that appear linked to something that only now may show to be another Iran/Contra like “thing”. For me, knowing the big picture isn’t easy to live with. This is especially true when the Public hasn’t caught on and the criminal system is doing their best to force everyone’s thinking in their direction. Being in this has taught me well with what to look for as this group has a particular personality that easily seen if you know what to look for.

The other side for me is that I don’t want to harm any progress that’s being made either. I could do more harm then help by making public what I know that hasn’t surfaced. This is why I’ve tried to lean towards being general in my posts and even then, it swells too large in my opinion, but that’s the nature of what this is. .

An important point that will help is for you to forget about needing details for now. I know this is going to sound more as a flippin conspiracy but the fact remains that we have a major criminal element within our Government. It extends from the Federal area down to local areas and also extends beyond our shores. It’s been growing for more than 30 years that I’m aware of and it was big back then. The Iran/Contra affair was in it’s highest in the mid-80’s. My ex-in-laws joined in the late 70’s and they are still involved. The old drug connection never went away.

As far as what to expect, be on the look out for more links with current Indictments and scandals with other wrongdoing. This will continue. As far as who, there shouldn’t be any question that the Bush/Cheney connection will continue to flourish. Already in last weeks news there was another article linking Cheney’s Aid with giving secrets to the opposition to the Philippine Government who has already voiced concerns about a possible takeover.

In Chicago, I know personally that Daley owns property in a Laundromat. Daley is fighting to keep his job, but with what I know, he won’t be able to. Our Illinois Governor is under three investigations already and this may grow too. There are specifics here that I know, but just consider links here too. Like I said, it goes from the bottom all the way to the top and then some!

If you remember when Marcos fled for Hawaii, he took with him over an estimated 30 billion in suitcases. But later while in Hawaii, he didn’t seem to have any of it, so where did it go? My ex-in-laws knew and we talked about it so how did they know? He also died a few years later which I felt was mysterious but knowing this group, it isn’t that mysterious at all.

I’m finding it difficult to explain and not give out details and am worried that I may sound too much like a conspiracy theorist, then again I don’t want to hurt the movement. So, given what I’ve said before in posts, be on the look out for corruption Laundromats. Sooner or later they will need to surface and this part should be easy. However, this part will be as convoluted or more than the story that led us to this point. Realize that this is a very old huge World’s largest Criminal System. Who’s involved will easily surface when the right people dig surface the property owners.

Be also on the lookout for links to who is actually doing the wiretapping and snooping as this goes very very deep. Only wiretapping and software snooping have partially surfaced, but there are multiple huge Industries involved, who by the way as a whole, are experts in anything electronic and computer/Internet. All of their snooping efforts lay the groundwork for other more serious crimes. These link into the Political areas, drug areas, other crimes including wide spread fraud and much more. Expect this area to be heavy with criminal Military elements.

Unfortunately, I can go on and on about this. Please accept the lack of explaining precise detail (although I have it) and accept that I did give a few areas to look towards.

So, how many major scandals is this now? You should have said:

This administration may be on the verge of ANOTHER major scandal.

"the Watergate as a whorehouse" -- nothing new here, or with Duke and the boys being served with hookers. back in '76-'77, I worked for a major defense contractor in their contracts department . They would regularly throw bashes for senior brass and administration officials- especially around contract time. There was alway a line item for the "Sunshine Girls" in the budget. the official line is that they were "hostesses" for these affairs, but it was pretty common knowledge that they were pretty high priced call girls. Women were treated as nothing more than a commodity in DC in those days - in my office, women were well advised to stay out of the elevator with at least one top officer in our corporation, since he was known to "grab" women during the ride. I was also offered promotions in exchange for sex - it was the acknowledged price of working in the District for women. I don't think much has changed in 30 years!

“This administration may be on the verge of a major scandal.”

Bigger than administration officials leaking classified information to silence critics and opponents?

Bigger than an invasion that has proven unjustified and has killed, maimed thousands of innocents?

Bigger than an administration that ignores the law and international treaties, condones torture, uses secret "renditions", and indefinite detentions?

Bigger than the executive claiming non-existent "inherent" powers to ignore the constitution and override the other branches?

Bigger than the corruption haunting every aspect of the reconstruction efforts for Iraq and the Gulf region?

Does this mean that the Delay-Abramoff bribery scandal, which was originally called "the biggest scandal in over a century", is nothing but children's play?

Aah, yes; nothing like a little sex to make people finally pay attention to the misdeeds of an administration that has set new lows for corruption, incompetence, and cronyism.

I am so relieved to see we still have the right priorities... ::snark::

The sex scandal played into Porter Goss' resignation, but Ray McGovern outing Rumsfeld as a liar on Thursday must have infuriated the White House bigtime, so Goss took heat for it since he knew Ray from the old days as co-CIA agents! Goss got blamed for not gagging McGovern, so it boiled into a turf fight with Negroponte and Porter lost!

i had to go see the watergate when i flew to dc a couple of years ago. back then it had the interior of any other five-star hotel...it felt a bit like the plaza's lobby in nyc, but, more classic and less colorful.

no whores were around...but, i did grab one of those 'watergate' after dinner mints as a souvenier.

in other words, i think you have to bring your own whore with you to the hotel; it is not one of those hotels where they are lounging around the bar, or smoking in the parking lot!

of course, with the new saudi ministry across the street as seen in fahr. 9/11, they may ship the whores from there to the watergate on an 'as-needed' basis..

but, i think auntie will be fine...

peace.

Geeze! My wife has an aunt living in the Watergate. And now I find out the place is practically a brothel? Talk about falling on hard times. Auntie is pretty cute but at least 50+. Anyone know what's become of the Watergate these days?

#2 Marty, you often speak of sinister background, connections and dirty dealings.
What else is going to come out?
Iran Contra was a huge scandal of the Reagan era and key players are involved yet today in key positions. Criminals were pardoned, and/or appointed to high places. Ollie North even works for FOX.
The public has either forgotten the affair, ignored it, or never knew all the convoluted details; and those who participated are reaping the benefits at our expense.

CIA Director does not leave with no notice. If he had personal reasons he would have said so. He was told to leave.
He was too close to the scandal that is unfolding involving bribery, hookers and gambling. Whether or not he actively participated, he was aware and involved, if only on the periphery. He couldn't control anything, from the illegal activities to those involved (whether or not it includes himself). Morale at the CIA has been spiraling downward for a long time now; agents feel they have to watch their backs, they don't trust the government, much less the politicians running the CIA, NSA.
This doesn't bode well for the security of the US.
Goss was a poor choice, and that's Bush's fault. Bush won't admit he made a poor choice. A huge repair job is necessary here, just like everything Bush touches -- he screws it up, makes it worse, creates more danger, and then puts on a Halloween costume and talks to a graduation class or boards an aircraft carrier.
