things are just going so good over there! we’ve really freed those Iraqis from tyranny /sarcasm off
I have a question: does anyone know where I can find statistics pertaining to the average of Iraqis that died under saddam as opposed to the US and how many military personell die in training exercises each year. Thanks anyone
Why doesn’t the MSM show the ‘good’ things going on in Iraq?…because their aren’t any…we’ve only killed 200,000 + in Iraq, and they should be greatful????? The faster we stop the bush gang, the more lives will be saved.
I also want to echo the comment of leisureguy. This number alone is more than the number of Americans who died on 9/11. The right wing pundits continue to use the number of Americas killed on 9/11 as the reason why we invaded Iraq. And the people of Iraq had absolutely nothing to do with this event. Check out this article
at least American troop deaths are going up as well 2417 thats 13 this month already , shame on the Bush goverment that knows there will be another at least 500 more deaths before christmas -
#11, yes dumbass, the Iraqi people would be better off with Saddam… He killed a lot less people than Bubble boy has.
He (Saddam) is on trial for the murder of 150 murders….Do the math moron, 3800 is more than 150.
I don’t expect a stupid ass to understand simple arithmatic so get to Iraq and get involved. Show your patriotism…one less stupid ass in the U.S. could only be a good thing.
It will be interesting to see what spin gets put out Monday on Porter Goss, since the press over the weekend failed to bury the story?! FOX News tried to push the Kennedys are all drunks theme, but most Americans are long past interested in Ted and his son! Trying to bring up Abramoff again is stupid, because he probably ran a hooker service too > lol.
The last time that I examined the solar option, I caculated that it would take 11 years to break even (Four years ago). With the newest solar cell technology and ultra-inflated oil prices, it’s down to 3 1/2.
#17 Repubs don’t let reality interfere with the profits of their biggest lobbyists.
And, in thread again, the war not only has produced deaths and injured as casualties, but over 100.000 displaced people. This situation will provoke in a near future, a lot of refugee people, even in refugees camps, living a miserable life and ever lacking of a necessary stability. And don’t forget what brings along such a disgraced situation: a lot of disgruntled people, with nothing to lose. The same circumstancies who originated the Talibans (who was in origin born in the refugee camps, as a way to fight injustice, and formed by a lot of sons of displaced people), Hamas, Al Fatah, and many more.
Short term solutions are only a temporary solution. By only concentrating in the said short term, the snowball (sandball in this case?) is only growing more and more everyday and, in a not so far future, 10, 20 years, we will see the next generation of Iraqi “freedom fighters”. And they will not be pretty. It’s the simple law of scalation. If today’s insurgency doesn’t work enough fine to make the USA forces get out of Iraq, the methods will scalate.
Sorry for the pessimistic view, but it’s too easily predictable. And, if it not becomes true, trust me, I will be very happy.
#11 Yes, now that Sadaam is gone, everything is looking better. And if humanitarianism is why we are there, you know, for the love of Iraquis, then I am certain you are ready to head to Darfur. The genocide an all, right dude?
Considering that the Iran-Iraq war alone (started by Saddam) caused over 1,000,000 casualties I’d say any comparisons to us are worth a good laugh. Funny how the people complaining about us removing Saddam never seem to have a better solution. He killed 30,000 Shiites around Basra in the 90s, over 50,000 Kurds up north in the 80s and 90s, looted, murdered and raped his way through Kuwait in 1990 but WE are the bad guys? That’s funny! Iraqis are killing Iraqis. That’s true. I don’t consider that our fault. They can choose to work together or kill each other. We can only provide them the opportunity, not make them take it. Ford did nothing when the Khmre Rouge killed millions in Cambodia. Clinton did nothing when the Hutus killed 500,000+ in Rwanda. Bush stopped Saddam and that you can’t stand. I know most of you will disagree with me and that’s fine. What’s your better idea? Do nothing? Talk about doing something while doing nothing? Carry a picket sign in San Francisco? None of that accomplishes a thing. I can’t think of a single dictator who was stopped by a protest march on the other side of the world. If you think 3,000 American lives aren’t worth it that’s your opinion but then don’t complain about not stopping the next thug with an army. You can’t have it both ways.
What civil war?

May 7th, 2006 at 2:45 pm3800, yeah, but in fairness an Iraqi life is worth only a fraction of an American life. Some complicated formula with the exchange rate . . . (cough)

May 7th, 2006 at 3:02 pmto paraphrase mr colbert:
the liberals in the media look at the glass as being 3800 corpses full, but, actually the glass is 24,000,000 corpses empty!
bush = war-criminal
peace.
May 7th, 2006 at 3:36 pmFreedom is on the march.
May 7th, 2006 at 6:19 pmJust to make that clear, this is the number of people killed in Baghdad alone.
May 7th, 2006 at 7:14 pmApparently you lefties would prefer that Saddam was still in power, killing his own people, with no hope of anything better.
What humanitarians! What compassion!
May 7th, 2006 at 8:28 pmGiving us a grand total of what? 50,000 now?
R2K
May 7th, 2006 at 10:00 pmWe know that more are going to die…
Bubble boy himself said as long as he’’s in office we will be at war.
So, when the Bubble boy says “we are seeing improvement”, we know he’s lying.
He already made up his mind to murder for 3 more years.

May 8th, 2006 at 7:13 amUSA Patriot, I agree Saddam should have been removed. The point is, how many have died since his removal?
May 8th, 2006 at 9:34 amThe Shiites are slowly and methodically killing off the Sunnis.
Bush loves this – one less minority to worry about.

May 8th, 2006 at 10:20 am#20 Oh Paul, now I’m depressed. Not you, just the thought. We can’t even joke about our leaders any longer, it is just too real.
