Holy crap! I’m getting dangerously close to feeling sorry for this rube. Not.

With all the clouds on the horizon, I’m guessing things are kind of mirthless at the old West Wing.

  2. miles Says:

Chris Matthews: “Everybody sort of likes the president, except for the real whack-jobs, maybe on the left.”

Reality: “President Bush’s job-approval rating has fallen to its lowest mark of his presidency, according to a new Harris Interactive poll. Of 1,003 U.S. adults surveyed in a telephone poll, 29% think Mr. Bush is doing an “excellent or pretty good” job as president, down from 35% in April and significantly lower than 43% in January.”

Write to him and tell him who the real whack-job is: hardball@msnbc.com

  3. DCB Says:

And the new NSA revelation is barely a day old.

    He still hasn’t hit bottom.

  4. Kriss Says:

    Heckuva Job Duhbya!

  7. Justin Says:

First of all, that is a terrible metaphor. This administration is not sinking. This administration is soaring! If anything, they are rearranging the deck chairs on the Hindenburg…

    Ka-Boom.

  8. Hamster Brain Says:

Corporation for Public Broadcasting: “Republican chairman hired a consultant to identify liberal bias in its programs. The consultant apparently considered any criticism of the administration a sign of liberalism, even if it came from conservatives.”

    HAHAHAHAAAAA!!

Chris Matthews: “Everybody sort of likes the president, except for the real whack-jobs, maybe on the left.”

    Sure Chris Sure.

  9. Dusty Foggo Says:

Poles(polls) don’t mean anything! unless a hot call-boy is packin’ one.

  10. Jay Randal Says:

Bush will be down to rock bottom 20% to 25% in a couple months! Those in the rock bottom are Pat Robertson disciples, skin head Nazis in Idaho, and toothless rednecks in the midwest region and the south > lol.

  11. Hamster Brain Says:

Hey did George Beat Cheney to the Bottom yet?

  12. Clif Says:

Bush is pushing below Nixon for the lowest poll numbers ever…

sort of fits the worst pResident ever…………and I mean ever

    Did Tweety really say that???????

That man is getting his ass kicked for saying that. Time to go back to the Open Letter To Chris Matthews website. Get someone to update it and kick ass.

  16. Anon1 Says:

#11. LOL!!!! That’s alll who’s left now!!!! Even Scarborough and Gingrich have turned against Bush. I never thought I’d see this.

  17. Southwest Bob Says:

The reality ~ from the start ~ is that this is a failed person. He’s had his tracks covered by rich parents and “loyal” friends for his entire life. This stage is simply too big for a half-wit and mentally unbalanced lazy boy. He will look back at 30% approval ratings soon and dream of the “good ol’ days.”

  18. Hamster Brain Says:

    It’s Battle Fatigue!! Says George.
    Really?
    Adding Insult to Injury…..
    ——————————————–
Battle fatigue: The World War II name for what is known today as post-traumatic stress, this is a psychological disorder that develops in some individuals who have had major traumatic experiences (and, for example, have been in a serious accident or through a war). The person is typically numb at first but later has symptoms including depression, excessive irritability, guilt (for having survived while others died), recurrent nightmares, flashbacks to the traumatic scene, and overreaction to sudden noises. Post-traumatic stress became known as such in the 70s due to the adjustment problems of some Vietnam veterans.

So the WAR that Bush Fomented is the Problem?
Then Who decided to take us to War? The Decider? Yupp.
SO Bush has Admitted HIS War, and the Deaths from that War are all his fault, JUST as is his POLL ratings.
It’s not the Medias, nor the Liberals Fault, in any way shape or form.
Whom here Voted to go to WAR?
Anyone? I never saw a War vote? did you?
    Ahh so its perfectly safe to say this;
    The Decider did it

  19. T2005 Says:

Not only the worst President ever, but also the most dangerous one. This guy is nuts.

  20. RacingTowardTheStoneAge Says:

Even Scarborough and Gingrich have turned against Bush.

Ain’t that something. I know deep inside they don’t wann go against their own men. I think there is itty bitty conscience in these guys that tweety lacks. Wonder how much was tweety bought for.

    Comment by Jay Randal — May 11, 2006 @ 10:57 pm

I’m hoping for rock bottom of 20%, or less, by the end of this month, which is only 2.5 weeks away, not months! Hooohah! Hell, he slipped two points in one day!

  22. Girl Says:

You people are idiots. But it makes you funny.
Thank you for making me laugh.

  23. Clif Says:

#23 Girl if we are funny to you Bush must leave you ROTFLMAO

  24. Theresa Says:

    Actually, #24, that’d be ROTFLYAO.

    Signed: BHMROTFLMAOWHPND

(Bush Has Me Rolling On The Floor Laughing My Ass Off While His Poll Numbers Drop)

  25. Bushit Says:

How low can he go?? Hey Tweety, I guess I’m one of those wack job lefties then because I hate Bush with a passion. Maybe the question isn’t who disagrees with Bush, but the ever loving morons who agree with him!!

  26. Ancient Purple Says:

Couldn’t have happened to a nicer guy.

  27. Wayne Says:

Yeah, CNN just started running the latest datamining. Saw one segment asking people what they thought, on the street. People are pissed, really ticked off.

This was all over the office at work today, even past Bush defenders are pissed. this is gonna sink him.

Here is the real kicker “The call-collecting program is focused on domestic calls, those that originate and terminate within U.S. borders.”
    http://www.eff.org/deeplinks/

Remember that when it first came out, Bush said it was overseas call, where one party was in the US.

    Suprise, suprise, they lied =P

  28. katy Says:

several posts here reminded me - colbert’s sign off tonight, he will have chris matthews as guest on monday - (paraphrase) “we’ll see who has the hardest ball” …

  29. War4Sale Says:

Those of us of the non-Fascist persuasion know Bush is the worst president in American history. Soon it will be official!

  30. Bluestocking Says:

What’s that line that people sometimes chant during limbo dances? Ah, yes…

    HOW LOW CAN YOU GO?
    HOW LOW CAN YOU GO?
    HOW LOW CAN YOU GO?
    HOW LOW CAN YOU GO?

  31. the fly-man Says:

Isn’t ironic that this was a telephone poll?

  32. Esc Says:

Nice to see, that Americans have at last noticed, what other world noticed during his first years in office.

  33. GSD Says:

Wow, on my way home I was struck by a falling chimp. Luckily I was wearing my hockey helmut.

    -GSD

  34. Cyra Brown Says:

#32- Isn’t it? Great catch, made me laugh. My thanks.

  35. Cyra Brown Says:

It seems to defy my ability to understand how it is that, even with every asset and advantage available to us, technology, weapons, military might, basically anything and everything at our disposal, we cannot ‘win’, in Afghanistan, or Iraq? And why do they stubbornly refuse to accept the reality of the situation, and fix that SH*T!

  36. barfly Says:

The only rats that haven’t yet left are the ones stuck in the hold. Knawing and clawing each other for footing, they now curse the head rat for not being “rat” (conservative) enough to save them from their verminous fates, as the filthy bilge rises higher . . .

  37. Monkey Knut Wrench Says:

after another 2% Bush will officially be the worst pretzel ever ….. Gonna get a bottle of bollinger awaiting the news …

Afetr everything bush has done he deserves JAIL

  38. Highroller Says:

He´s going to serve the full term. Wether or not that is a good thing is debatable. At least he hasn´t plunged into a nuclear war yet. Let´s look at the bright side!

  39. Bruce Gorton Says:

    37

They aren’t rats, though they are rodents. They are lemmings who have suddenly come to the realisation that their dear leader has led them over the edge of a cliff. Hear all of the Republican leaders going splat? That is soon going to be the Republican followers.

  40. barfly Says:

    #40

My point is they’re now claiming Bush is really a liberal, not at all a “rat” like them.

  41. Bruce Gorton Says:

    #41

Of course, their egos won’t let them admit that they were wrong, so they claim their leader isn’t one of them. Doesn’t change the fact that they followed him over the edge of that cliff though does it?

  42. dsm Says:

Unfortunaly antiwar.com is having trouble to finance their website. I do not work there, but please support if you can. It’s a good source for information. We need all the information we can get.

  43. Monkey Knut Wrench Says:

29% are still supporting Bush a MASS MURDERER OF INNOCENT IRAQI WOMEN AND CHILDREN, A TORTURER, HOLDING PEOPLE ILLEGALLY IN GUANTANAMO, THIEF, LAW BREAKER, FAILURE OF ALL ASPECTS OF HUMAN RIGHTS FROM HEALTH TO CARE IN THE COMMUNITY, BREAKING UN TREATIES,

Only America can hide Bush, Hes not welcome anywhere in the world

  44. Jeff R Says:

Like father, like son. 29% was as low as George H. W. Bush got in the polls, according to an article in USA Today I dug up from seven months ago, when W’s ratings hit 39%, “the lowest of his presidency.” Now they can commiserate together.

  45. Mack MacKenzie Says:

    How LOW can Bush go?

Soon he will be able to play handball against the curb!
He already has to look up to look down!

    BushCo = LIARS!

  46. ironiCON Says:

Something still makes me think they won’t loose in the Midterms.

71% might think things are going wrong, but when it comes down to it, nothing’s wrong with _their_ own congressman. No, not ever!

  47. Cwhitt Says:

Dubya always wanted to be just like Poppy. Well, he got his wish, and will do him one better

  48. Mash Says:

Does anyone else think today will be Fitzmas?

  49. Colorado Jyms Says:

So if 4% of the population actually benifit from his tax cuts, who are the other 25%? Is that the amount of people who cannot read English that are living in the US? Seems high to me. Of course we have Ann Coulter, Rush and Bill O’Reilly spewing their hatrid on the airwaves. Could they be hiding the truth from these people this successfully? Or is it true that 1/4 of American’s simply do not like our American Values?. Freedom of speech, separation of church and state, not being spied on, not being lied to, being able to breath the air, etc.

  50. synsiri Says:

get drunk and screw, or butcher in the name of god. As the Floyd said it a long buzz ago: pigs on the wing, dogs, and the scared sheep who elcted this moron.

  51. Monkey Knut Wrench Says:

    Oh My News

    Does Ahmadinejad Have a Point?
Tell us what you think of Iranian president’s letter to George W. Bush

    http://english.ohmynews.com/ ArticleView/ article_view.asp?menu=A11100&no=291536&rel_no=1&back_url=

Strangley enough sofar 67% of the world thinks BUSH should talk to IRAN

    so do i

As in Neil Youngs song lets impeach the president “George Bush states war is a last resort”

Funny when you cant even Talk - WHAT A MORON BUSH REALLY IS

  52. WMD Says:

    As one Bush support posted:

Its the liberal media that has made America turn against Bush.
At least that was better then the insane denials that Bush poll numbers were anywhere near the low 50% let alone low 30% a few months ago.

  53. WMD Says:

#47 Is right dont count your chickens befoe they hatch
Bush low poll numbers hasnt translated into support for demcrates YET. You still have a lot of work to do. Like the 2004 elections they were yours to lose.

  54. Bill from Chicago Says:

Bush just added a Signing Statement to his approval rating. He now declares that 29% actually means 99%.

  55. Godfry Daniel Says:

I know, I know… but it’s still fun to watch him fall! If he gets stuck, give him a little help with your mouse.

    http://www.planetdan.net/pics/misc/georgie.htm

  56. progressive and proud Says:

#53 So let’s ask the neocons why the media is so left? So why?

  57. Bill from Chicago Says:

Bush just added a Signing Statement to the Constitution. He now declares the Constitution, “Just a Goddman piece of Paper!”

  58. Peter Christian Says:

Even his low approval ratings are not stopping him from doing real damage, though. He and his lacky congress will soon pass another 70 billion dollar tax give-away to the very wealthiest, financed by public debt. When balance and sanity are restored (given we can override the electoral power of diebold and sequoia) we must not be deterred by whiney, peevish, and decietful complaints of “tax increase!” or “class warefare!” when we seek to undo this fiscally irresponsible rape of the public treasury.

  59. Manuel Says:

Last chopper out of the White house (and Iraq) soon !! Very soon !!

  60. big papa Says:

That latest tax giveaway to the rich tells it all…

…they’re stealing as much as they can…

    …before they’re booted out…

  61. Bill from Chicago Says:

#59…You know how its the Rosebowl brought to you by Taco Bell or whatever. I think it should officially be called …The Iraq War sponsored by Chinese Debt!

  62. Heynow Says:

    AS Colbert articulated “backwash”.

  63. trueblue Says:

    #56:

    that was fun!
I hung him up by his foot for a while, then a naughty pose or two…
    Screw it. He deserves it.

  64. wisedup Says:

56#…great fun…I’ll have to send this to a wingnut I know, so he can PUSH ol chimpy up in the polls….O’liely and limpdick will pull out all the stops now to defend ‘the worst person on the planet’.

  65. RayFromGA Says:

All y’all liberals leaking stuff to the press, trying to get us killed during war, watch out! We will be listening to find out who you are.

  66. Briseadh na Faire Says:

How long will it be before another video of Osama bin Laden plays, giving Bush credit for his security measures which have prevented an attack on America?

How long will it be before the “Terror Alert” gets raised?

How long will it be before we are attacked by “terrorists with direct links to Iran?”

  67. terry Says:

Someone observed that Dumbya is still doing real damage despite the exhaustion of his “political capital” and the rich still want to keep the Republican gravy train going while they wreck this country. The midterm elections are no sure thing and it is incumbent on all of us to continue pointing out what miserable human beings, in every sense of the word, Dumbya and his coterie are. About 70% of the population believe the country is headed in the wrong direction and that is the point that that the Republicans must try and spin–hey you are out of work? Think of all the extra free time you have?

  68. lib4 Says:

Chris Matthews: “Everybody sort of likes the president, except for the real whack-jobs, maybe on the left.”

We should flood Matthews with this quote til the end of time…

remember he made these comments IN JANUARY 2006………when Bush’s neumbers were in the 38 - 41 percent approval

  69. big papa Says:

All y’all liberals leaking stuff to the press, trying to get us killed during war, watch out! We will be listening to find out who you are.

    Comment by RayFromGA #66

    t’Ray’torFromGA,

    Damn!

    …you’re still alive?

…stay right where you are, and…

    …what was your address again?

  70. Hunter Morrow Says:

The most unpopular president in 60 years and he still is only halfwa ythrough this term. He has screwed Republicans over for at least a decade.

  71. Sharon Cox Says:

Say Hunter and all posters, I believe history writers will say bush is the worst president ever in the USA. Now that I have written that, may I add, it will be there for all to read providing our government isn’t into book burning by then. Add to that the witch burning times and were not far off…..I’ll be one of the first to go, along with all dissenters and any one thinking the constitution is more than just a piece of paper…….Blessings

  72. Janet Says:

Considering he was once at 90%, I would say 29% constitutes a major case of FREEP FALLING:

    http://www.airfarceone.net/freepfalling.html

    :)

  73. big papa Says:

That criminal TRAITOR Bushiva can be adorable at times…

…today after his meeting with former Secretaries of States he made two utterly telling gaffes:

    1) he stated in his post-meeting propaganda op,

“I realize some of us have our ‘disagreeances’ ‘er disagreements but…”

    2) ” I want to thank all the members for coming, ‘er former Secretaries of State…”

Is this mofo a master orator or what?

  74. foxbot Says:

All y’all liberals leaking stuff to the press, trying to get us killed during war, watch out! We will be listening to find out who you are.

    Comment by RayFromGA

If you are in Iraq, I hope you’re not relying on listening to my phone calls so you know when to duck.

  75. Politisink - Post details: 29% Says:

[…] Via Think Progress the Washington Wire. Bush Dips Into the 20s […]

  76. Catch 22 Says:

For a laugh go to GOP Bloggers to see how they spin this result:

Bush Has Better Approval Ratings Than Congress…
…According to the latest Harris poll. Still the media prefers to talk about Bush’s low approval ratings… but then again, they wouldn’t be the MSM otherwise.

Perhaps they forgot the GOP has solid control of Congress as well as the White House, and Bush having a higher rating than the Congress is actually bad news for the GOP.

  77. madashell Says:

Catch 22 - I just can’t seem to bring myself to venture there….too scary. that’s why I don’t have TV right now. I have enough to be outraged about!

  78. Solitaire Says:

Don’t be too alarmed at the 29% that still support Bush. If you look at the intelligence demographics, the average intelligence of a human being is somewhere in the 95 - 105 IQ points. A third is above that, and a third, … well. There’s your 29%.

  79. Stupid Republicans Says:

#11 Jay Randal, for the record, Illinois is a part of the midwest and Illinois has never elected a stupid Republican. Be more specific when pointing out who’s stupid in America.

When Bubble boys numbers go down, Frist profits….more mentals are taking their meds.

  80. ysIcEbKP3K Says:

Hi! Very nice site! Thanks you very much! Cd2MMfJP3rAt

  81. Harry Convict Says:
