Uh huh. Sure you will. Phone call from Bush to Copps (appropriate name, eh?) in 3 seconds. Retraction of Copps statement in 5 minutes. Copps fired/resigns in 10 minutes. Hand-picked replacement by Cheney for FCC commish in 15 minutes.
A big “F$ck you” sign by the NSA to Copps as he walks out of his office. Copps’ wife sent an “anonymous” record of all the women Copps has called from work. Copps’ home address and daughter’s school “mistakenly” posted on NSA website….

If you wating for an ‘investigation’ of anything from our officals….nothing will happen. This is a real dictatorship right now,but we’re going to stop it. We must play hardball with these traitiors to our country. England has a 2 class system, we will not accept this…ever.

Right, too bad Powell’s kid isn’t at the FCC any longer, he would have fined the phone companies for not giving up enough information.
May 16th, 2006 at 1:18 pmCopps is a Dem and was one of the two commissioners who organized the national tour to engage the public when Michael Powell tried to ram through media deregulation a few years ago.
He’s sympathetic to civil liberties and free speech. We should get behind him on this because he will take heat for standing up for us.
May 16th, 2006 at 3:38 pmMichael Copps is a staunch defender of the public’s rights. He is one of two in the minority on the FCC (Michael Powell is the former head). He has done battle with the conservatives on the FCC who have advocated consolidation of media.

In the past, I have written to him and he is responsive. One of the two Dems on the FCC is soon to retire, and I don’t know if it is Copps.
