Former Rep. Duke Cunningham,
who has admitted taking millions in bribes from defense contractors, will be fully cooperating with ongoing investigations. That’s good news for the public and bad news for corrupt members of Congress.

I’ll believe it when I see it. He allegedly promised to cooperate before, and news came out that he wasn’t doing so.

The reason I ask is because I don’t see why he would cooperate if his cooperation won’t reduce his sentence.
If he cooperates will this work to reduce his current sentence?

I believe the 8 year sentence he received was a reduced sentence contingent upon his cooperation.

Cunningham’s cooperation in the investigation would need to be substantial in order for prosecutors to recommend that federal Judge Larry Alan Burns sentence him Feb. 27 to less than the 10 years he faces, Grimes said. With good behavior, Cunningham can reduce whatever sentence he gets by 15 percent.
I think continuing cooperation would come under the heading of “good behavior.”

Sorry for all the negativity. It is just another heartbreaking day of watching my civil liberties disappear, my country being raped, our reputation around the globe reaching new lows, and reading about more deaths in Iraq. Again, sorry…
I just got back from England where I got an earful about Guantanamo Bay. That base needs to be removed. It is destroying our reputation around the globe.

Abrarmoff gave money to the GOP which has seem it’s main New England operator sent to prison for a phone jamming voter fraud scheme which netted 3 other repugs….
See how easy it is to play the game with the repugs …soooooo amny corupot idiots so hard to find one not connected to the coruption by more than 2 degrees of corupption.
