When a man whose confirmation hearings were held up by allegations he left one of his pubic hairs on a staffer’s can of Coke thinks you are in trouble–well, sir, that’s what I call trouble.
Yes, when Clarence Thomas declares Bush in in trouble, it is likely so. Look for some kind of action from the SCOTUS and other government agencies to find a way come to his aid.
I read the story. It looks like it was just a general comment made in small talk.
No crud, Bush is in trouble. 71% of us could have told you that. Heck, some of the other 29% might even think he’s in trouble once they stop hero worshiping him.
Was this Supreme Court Justice commenting on an issue (or person with an issue) that might come before him? I suppose he will just recuse himself. Yeah. Sure.
I know Scalia went hunting with Cheney, and now Thomas is pimping Bush. Is this normal? Did liberal judges on the court hang with Gore, or did Scouter play cards and slap-jack with Clinton?
The poor, helpless, defenseless little George is in trouble. His arse is in a sling. He’s between a rock and hard place. No matter where he turns in Air Force One, he’s headed for trouble.
It’s not going to stop, nor should it. He made the decision to go to war, the decider that he is.
George Armstrong Custer decided to go to into The Little Bighorn. It was a Custer Decision.
Not much they can do now short of capturing Osama, and Osama isn’t cooperating with that idea.
The Wiretapping scandal just isn’t going away, nor is K Street, nor is the Plamegate scandal, in fact all three of them are just growing bigger. Three impeachment level scandals breaking at once does not bode well for the administration, and oil prices seriously are not going to help.
Speaking of tokens, the GOP is pushing it’s three national black candidates as “Year oif the Black Republican”. Now Drudge is smearing Howie Dean as part of the attempt. Weak.
I’m tired of everybody saying Bush is in trouble. What does it matter? Nobody ever does anything about it. Why doesn’t anybody do anything about it? WHY? WHY? WHY?
[...] Over at ThinkProgress.org, they linked this article: The other night at a Washington book party for the President’s sister, Doro Bush Koch, the Supreme Court justice arrived with his wife, Ginny, on the tented roof of the Hay Adams Hotel, overlooking the White House, and made a beeline for the author. You might expect a decrease in the total number of people with access to potable water, and this doesn’t mean the infrastructure’s going to pot. It’s just that a lot of people are newly deceased….
I can’t wait till November, so I can log into this sanctum of exaggerated negativity, and watch all you inbred cynics come to the horrifying realization that bitching about the Bush Administration in some biased approval poll is a lot different than actually voting democrat/socialist/communist. When voters step into the booth in November, liberal pollsters will not be allowed to spin the choices in order to manipulate the outcome. What’s more, you’re all so certain Bush is at fault for everything, yet there’s NOTHING ever in here about a viable replacement. I’m with ol’ Winston Churchill…the GOP is a terrible party to vote for, UNTIL one considers the alternative.
What alternate Max, respecting the US Constitutionj, not starting a optional war of agression, actually thinking about the leader of the organisation that attacked two of our most important cities, not bankrupting the federal government to enrich the richest of us, actually working most of the time and not vacations for over 30 days….that alternative?
or the one that does not include corruption in the leadership of the house and senate…corruption which has a new republican under investigation every week…and Two sitting Governours ( Ohio plead guilty, and Kentucky indicted), that alternative?
Pretty weak comeback, Clif. Although the existence of corruption can’t be dismissed, I’m sorry to say (i.e. William Jefferson) its seems to be pretty universal in politics. The rest of your rant, however, is very biased (and questionable) rhetoric. Why is it that whenever a liberal is challenged for substance as to what THEIR solution might be, they instinctively ignore the question and go directly to attack Bush mode. I’m sorry, but it’s not flattering, and it won’t cut it come election time.
Max that is the best you have…1 democratic congressman to balance the years of corruption that the party of institutional corruption has foisted on the American people…keep dreaming but Jefferson is running in New Orleans…where as the corruption of the repugs is in DC, Ohio, California, Kentucky, New Hampshire, Texas, Tennessee, Montana, New Hampshire, Florida, Illinois, Wisconsin, New York, Pennsylvania, and many other places…keep hoping that nobody can actually think for themselves, but instead will swallow what ever assinine spin Fox and the GOP has in store this election…but whether at 29% for bush or 33% at the repug congress they do not have much to play with.
When a man whose confirmation hearings were held up by allegations he left one of his pubic hairs on a staffer’s can of Coke thinks you are in trouble–well, sir, that’s what I call trouble.

May 22nd, 2006 at 10:10 amOuch! That’s like the last person you wanna hear that from if you’re Bush. Other than Scalia, there are no bigger neocon pigs in public office.
May 22nd, 2006 at 10:15 amWhat an activist judge. Partisan praying for the president. Unbelievable.
May 22nd, 2006 at 10:27 amEh…

May 22nd, 2006 at 10:29 amBush is still emporer so the trouble seems mild. Hopefully, his trouble will triple.

May 22nd, 2006 at 10:51 amThis comment is almost meaningless; without any supporting context, Justice Thomas’ comment could refer to anything.
May 22nd, 2006 at 10:53 amThe poor, helpless, defenseless little George is in trouble. His arse is in a sling. He’s between a rock and hard place. No matter where he turns in Air Force One, he’s headed for trouble.

Deciders have tough days sometimes.
You’re not going to win them all.
May 22nd, 2006 at 10:55 amnothing that can’t be fixed with a few favorable rulings, knowhatimean?

I pray for my country and my planet.

May 22nd, 2006 at 11:11 am“We have to pray for your brother. He’s in real trouble”… says the unbiased and objective justice?
May 22nd, 2006 at 11:20 amEven an ideologue like Thomas knows when the goose is cooked.
May 22nd, 2006 at 11:23 amAnyone doubts now how Mr. Thomas will vote if a case concerning Bush comes up at the Supreme Court?
Remember Justice Scalia’s hunting trip with Cheney?
What ever happened to Judicial independence in this country?
May 22nd, 2006 at 11:23 am#3 : Whether or not youc all him a pig, Justice Thomas is not a “neocon” – he’s a isolationist (something of a fundamental difference).
Nice smear though. Keep up the good work.
May 22nd, 2006 at 11:27 amI think the neocons are about to pull something BIG out of their @sses to prop up Herr Chimpenfuhrer.

May 22nd, 2006 at 11:53 amNothing Thomas says or said will ever be relevant. He is a token judge with no original thoughts and probably no soul.
And while I’m at it, Jesus was completely unambiguous about people who pray publicly.

May 22nd, 2006 at 4:08 pmSo, is the answer 250 thousand or 4 million deaths? Either number would let Saddam qualify as a saint compared to W.

Sorry, wrong thread. And a FYI: That was snark….
