I sure he has no problem with collateral damage though. It seems that the blowing up of civilians in their homes is OK as long as it is done from the air on a perpetual basis. It’s always just a misunderstanding of what house was supposed to have the insurgents. For over three years, the US has had too few people on the ground and air support that settles for bombing far too often. The men and women on the ground have served too many duties in an incredibly mentally difficult situation. Our troops deserved and deserve better that what they are being given by the civilian and pentagon leadership.
Now now, there’s nothing wrong with him having to clarify his position on the matter with FOX viewers, I’m sure some confusion still lingers among those people on how they should feel about it. I thank Mr. Gibson for taking the time to let his viewers know how they should feel about this, if he didn’t do it, then they’d be lost.
I would like to take this moment to follow in Gibson’s noble and courageous footsteps and announce that I am strongly opposed to stabbing strangers in the face for no reason at all. NO longer will I stand quietly on the sidelines while there is senseless face stabbing going on! I say NAY!
That’s very surprising to hear, for just like FNC said there are “good” leaks and “good” wars I also figured they would toss this aside as a “good” massacre.
I think he just mis-spoke………he’s against telling the American people about civilian massacres and he’s against telling the American people about government cover-ups.
I thank Mr. Gibson for taking the time to let his viewers know how they should feel about this, if he didn’t do it, then they’d be lost.

Spot on. The real issue is why a national media network needs such a headline title in the first place - note the keyword ‘feel’ not ‘think’.
Fuxnews idiot of the week winner, this guy needs to go back to sacramento where he came from……on ward christian soilders?, your fight for democracy in a foreign land has left its scars, tears and destruction. War, be it , in any land is not clean and pretty. I dont blame the solider I blame the leaders. We have killed a generation of young soliders by our inept leadership in the white house/pentagon. and the worst is yet to come when they do come home. the prozac nation of protection.…. your a fool if you vote your representive/congressperson back to do more of the same. rise up people rise up . we live in a PNAC nation we need to take it back to neutralize and remove this cancer upon our great nation, death to the neocons, death to PNAC.
You mean facts like Joe Wilson tried to give you? Facts like every weapons inspector and military analyst tried to give you prior to going in?
Facts like the ones Colin Powell and every other general tried to give you prior to going in?
How about facts like Global Warming, facts that every scientist in the world NOT working for the big oil companies have been trying to beat into your thick skulls?
This is news. He took a brave stand, but isn’t he worried people might question his patriotism now?
And aphrodite is right, we should wait until we have all the facts before doing anything rash like criticizing policy or invading a country. Well, maybe not before invading a country.

I agree that we need to wait for the facts to surface. I am sorry to see our soldiers put into a situation that they are not trained for. Military forces should not be used to pacify a country. It rarely works long term, and creates a climate of terror, and killing. In many ways I think the military has been pretty restrained. They could be leveling entire towns, or just shooting and killing everyone they see. In Vietnam you never knew who the enemy was, so you had to assume that everyone was. C) Fox is hating it because, we shew people the Lies.
D) Your just being an apologist for really bad journalism, actually it just propaganda, and that of course is lies.
Yeah, he’s against “massacres and coverups” all right. Especially now that every news organization in the nation has jumped on the story. I mean, Gibson sounds so FAIR AND BALANCED all of a sudden.
Correct me if I’m wrong, but Gibson didn’t have squat to say about the massacre back in Febuary when Time first reported it. As a matter of fact, this is the same guy who has spent the past half-decade reporting and blaming Iraq and Saddam Hussain for the 1993 World Trade Center and the 1995 Oklahoma City bombings.

Didn’t Hitler or one of his henchmen utter something very similar to this?
[…] have declared War on the Fourth of July, I’m going to need some allies, because you know, Bill O’Reilly is a powerful man. So I am allying myself with John Gibson and speaking out publicly about my opposition to civilian massacres and cover-ups […]
This needed to be reported and is an important post as Gibson chose to officially distinguish himself from the Faux News default policy of Pro civilian massacres and crimes against humanity under the auspices of Corporate objectives.
Well done Gibson, a courageous man who stands with conscience.
Still the entire matter boils down to mismanagement
of the war. When you constantly put people in these
pressure cooker, stress inducing situations (two, three or even four tours of duty) people are gonna snap.
Clearly the blame for this massacre (and abu graib)
should lay at the feet of Don Rumsfeld and his boss
the chickenhawk President, George W Bush.
And didn’t Powell tell them, “you broke it, you own it“?
Funny thing about conservatives. They talk a hell of a lot, but they don’t respect words, only bombs and bullets. If they’d listen to some of the talk, then maybe they would not make so many mistakes.
But alas, they think talk is for sissy’s, cowards and traitors.
Indeed they talk about that very fact, every chance they get.
This just in, due to complaints from their viewers, Fox News now says there was a typo made on screen. Gibson is for massacres of civilians and cover-ups. Whew…That was a close one. Fox almost alienated the religious right segment of their audience.
“Propoganda is a means to an end. Its purpose is to lead people to an understanding that will allow them to willingly and without internal resistance devote themselves to the tasks and goals of superior leadership. If propoganda is to succeed, it must know what it wants. It must keep a clear and firm goal in mind, and seek the appropriate means and methods to reach that goal. Propoganda is neither good nor evil. Its moral value is determined by the goals it seeks.”
“There was no point in seeking to convert the intellectuals. For intellectuals would never be converted and would anyway always yield to the stronger, and thus always be the ‘man in the street.’ Arguments must therefore be crude, clear and forcible, and appeal to emotions and instincts, not the intellect. Truth was unimportant and entirely subordinate to tactics and psychology.”

So we get these pukes talking about Bring em on, Dead or alive, Elivdoers vs Christians in shining armor. Quit whining about losing a few civil liberties, trust us we are here to help you. Machen sie schnell!!
Hmm…you know he only said he is against massacring civilians AND covering it up. It still leaves open the possibility that he is FOR massacring civilians as long as you DON’T cover it up. Hmm :)
I appreciate your and Worfeus’ comments on the comparison between Hitler’s regime and Boy George’s regime. I think historians are going to have a field day comparing these two. First and foremost is the percieved omnipotence of the two by the two, and the blind loyalty of their lemmings.
this is not one of those things consternatives can blame on the “liberal” media, though I’m sure they’ll find a way to condemn reporters and not the perpetrators of this massacre… I’ve got news for you: this hurts us all…
As human beings, our greatness lies not so much in being able to remake the world - that is the myth of the atomic age - as in being able to remake ourselves.
Corruption ought not to be an inevitable product of democracy.

“If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it. The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth is the greatest enemy of the State.â€

“Come on guys…we’ve got John Stewart-lite (aka Obermann) over hereâ€.
Comment by Rick — May 31, 2006 @ 2:09 pm
A) I never watch Fux News.
May 31st, 2006 at 2:18 pmB) How can you be angry when laughing at those morons?
Nuff said.
May 31st, 2006 at 2:23 pmI would not watch Fox if it were the only station left on the air, which under this Nazi regime may happen.
May 31st, 2006 at 2:23 pmAngry Leftists!
May 31st, 2006 at 2:26 pmOY!Anyone here angry?
Ney! Ney! Ney!
We are happy campers!
gone are Cunningham
Rove and Delay!
Enron and Whores!
Goss and More!
Hang on Folks.
May 31st, 2006 at 2:30 pmWe are coming to another hill
the coaster clack clacks
jerks and lurches
the first car
crosses the apogee
pointing down
picking up speed
for the mass
behind is still
climbing the hill
Wheeeeeee!!
He’s just no fun anymore. You gotta love a little bit of civilian massacre, just to break up the day a bit. Too touchy JG.
I’ll bet if I gave you a loaded rifle right now, JG, you’d be blasting away at the nearest day care center with nary a care in the world. If God had not intended for kids to be shot in the head, he wouldn’t have granted us our Second Amendment rights. Where is the support for the troops?
May 31st, 2006 at 2:31 pmWell, if Gibson is against massacres, those who are thinking in doing it again, surely will think twice. Gibson = blue collar media asshole.
May 31st, 2006 at 2:32 pmGibson probably figures this is a slam-dunk way to get a Peabody Award.
May 31st, 2006 at 2:38 pmisn’t it obvious that he is lying about the matter? after all, everything said is a lie. everything i say is a lie too.
May 31st, 2006 at 2:40 pm#45 - I second that nomination.
May 31st, 2006 at 2:44 pmeverything i say is a lie too.

My brain hurts…
May 31st, 2006 at 2:46 pmHeroism on command, senseless violence, and all the loathsome nonsense that goes by the name of patriotism.
How passionately I hate them!
Albert Einstein
May 31st, 2006 at 2:52 pmWhy does Einstein hate America? Why does John Gibson hate our Troops?
May 31st, 2006 at 2:59 pmA man can be a Christian or a patriot, but he can’t legally be a Christian and a patriot–except in the usual way: one of the two with the mouth, the other with the heart.

May 31st, 2006 at 3:07 pmmighty’s
May 31st, 2006 at 3:08 pmjust angry because my dad gave her both sets of genitals.
Man is the only Patriot.
He sets himself apart in his own country, under his own flag, and sneers at the other nations, and keeps multitudinous uniformed assassins on hand at heavy expense to grab slices of other people’s countries, and keep them from grabbing slices of his.
And in the intervals between campaigns he washes the blood of his hands and works for “the universal brotherhood of man”- with his mouth.
Mark Twain
May 31st, 2006 at 3:09 pmZinmeister has never said anything negative about American foreign policy or the Iraq war. He is a paid propagandist. I bet he gets all the chicks.
May 31st, 2006 at 3:10 pmI bet he gets all the chicks.
Comment by Jesus H. Christ — May 31, 2006 @ 3:10 pm
Only the ones with both sets of genitals… :D
May 31st, 2006 at 3:14 pmIt wouldn’t be too far off the mark to say that mighty and Zinmeister know eachother.
May 31st, 2006 at 3:19 pmVery, very well… and very, very often! :)
May 31st, 2006 at 3:24 pmIt is lamentable, that to be a good patriot one must become the enemy of the rest of mankind.
Voltaire
May 31st, 2006 at 3:31 pmIf he’s against killing civilians and cover-ups, then he’s against this administration and its war of aggression.
Where was he when the war was getting started?
John Gibson deserves to spend the rest of his life behind bars. Maybe he’ll gain some sense of humanity there.

Didn’t Hitler or one of his henchmen utter something very similar to this?
May 31st, 2006 at 3:53 pmBush, Hitler, Hitlers henchmen… whats the diff?
May 31st, 2006 at 3:57 pm[…] have declared War on the Fourth of July, I’m going to need some allies, because you know, Bill O’Reilly is a powerful man. So I am allying myself with John Gibson and speaking out publicly about my opposition to civilian massacres and cover-ups […]
May 31st, 2006 at 4:04 pmThis needed to be reported and is an important post as Gibson chose to officially distinguish himself from the Faux News default policy of Pro civilian massacres and crimes against humanity under the auspices of Corporate objectives.
Well done Gibson, a courageous man who stands with conscience.
May 31st, 2006 at 4:07 pmMy bad, in my post above I had my sarcasm button stuck on
May 31st, 2006 at 4:09 pmStill the entire matter boils down to mismanagement
of the war. When you constantly put people in these
pressure cooker, stress inducing situations (two, three or even four tours of duty) people are gonna snap.
Clearly the blame for this massacre (and abu graib)
May 31st, 2006 at 4:17 pmshould lay at the feet of Don Rumsfeld and his boss
the chickenhawk President, George W Bush.
After all, the “buck stops here” with regards to the President.
At least thats how it “used” to be.
May 31st, 2006 at 4:20 pmAnd didn’t Powell tell them, “you broke it, you own it“?
Funny thing about conservatives. They talk a hell of a lot, but they don’t respect words, only bombs and bullets. If they’d listen to some of the talk, then maybe they would not make so many mistakes.
But alas, they think talk is for sissy’s, cowards and traitors.
Indeed they talk about that very fact, every chance they get.
May 31st, 2006 at 4:23 pmThis just in, due to complaints from their viewers, Fox News now says there was a typo made on screen. Gibson is for massacres of civilians and cover-ups. Whew…That was a close one. Fox almost alienated the religious right segment of their audience.
May 31st, 2006 at 4:38 pm“Propoganda is a means to an end.

Or better yet:
“There was no point in seeking to convert the intellectuals. For intellectuals would never be converted and would anyway always yield to the stronger, and thus always be the ‘man in the street.’ Arguments must therefore be crude, clear and forcible, and appeal to emotions and instincts, not the intellect. Truth was unimportant and entirely subordinate to tactics and psychology.”
Joseph Goebbels - 1934
Karl Rove - 2003
So we get these pukes talking about Bring em on, Dead or alive, Elivdoers vs Christians in shining armor. Quit whining about losing a few civil liberties, trust us we are here to help you. Machen sie schnell!!
May 31st, 2006 at 4:48 pmBush, Hitler, Hitlers henchmen… whats the diff?
Comment by WORFEUS — May 31, 2006 @ 3:57 pm
Damn if I know…
May 31st, 2006 at 5:00 pmHmm…you know he only said he is against massacring civilians AND covering it up. It still leaves open the possibility that he is FOR massacring civilians as long as you DON’T cover it up. Hmm :)

Goebbels is more fluent…. but pretty much the same message.
Thanks for digging this up!
May 31st, 2006 at 5:03 pmI appreciate your and Worfeus’ comments on the comparison between Hitler’s regime and Boy George’s regime. I think historians are going to have a field day comparing these two. First and foremost is the percieved omnipotence of the two by the two, and the blind loyalty of their lemmings.
May 31st, 2006 at 5:12 pmI try not to stoop to low discourse but dear God, they are stupid.
May 31st, 2006 at 5:42 pmthis is not one of those things consternatives can blame on the “liberal” media, though I’m sure they’ll find a way to condemn reporters and not the perpetrators of this massacre… I’ve got news for you: this hurts us all…

May 31st, 2006 at 6:20 pmMore quotes from someone enlightened…
As human beings, our greatness lies not so much in being able to remake the world - that is the myth of the atomic age - as in being able to remake ourselves.
Corruption ought not to be an inevitable product of democracy.
Earth provides enough to satisfy every man’s need, but not any man’s greed.
The Rich must live more simply so that the Poor may simply live
Find purpose, the means will follow.
I do not believe in the doctrine of the greatest good of the greatest number. The only real, dignified, human doctrine is the greatest good of all.
You must not lose faith in humanity. Humanity is an ocean; if a few drops of the ocean are dirty, the ocean does not become dirty.
Live as if you were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live forever.
The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated.
The spirit of democracy cannot be imposed from without. It has to come from within.
The weak can never forgive. Forgiveness is the attribute of the strong.
What difference does it make to the dead, the orphans and the homeless, whether the mad destruction is wrought under the name of totalitarianism or the holy name of liberty or democracy?
You should be the change that you want to see in the world.

More from John Gibson,…
May 31st, 2006 at 8:21 pm“If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it.
