Karl Rove attacks the blogosphere.

By Faiz Shakir on Jun 16th, 2006 at 2:37 pm

Karl Rove attacks the blogosphere.

“The Internet for the Left…has served as a way to mobilize hate and anger — hate and anger, first and foremost, at this President and Conservatives, but then also at people within their own party whom they consider to be less than completely loyal to this very narrow, very out-of-the-mainstream, very far Left-wing ideology that they tend to represent.”

  3. yankeluh says:

Screw Rove! He can’t figure out why they are despised? He is dumber than I thought.

  4. Mark says:

As opposed to the very neutral middle of the road right wing blogosphere? Or the middle of the road mainstream media like fox, limbaugh, coulter, hannity etc…

  5. DrSinker says:

    Ladies and Gents,

Forget Rove. Have you seen Holy Joe’s new ad?!?!

    Pure comedy!

  6. LeisureGuy says:

Karl Rove is an expert on hate and anger.

  7. Skeptic says:

This is a case of the pot calling the Kettle black. I used to follow “Rantberg” which is a right wing blog until two years ago when it got unbearably vicious. Also could some one tell me where to find the “Internet for the Left”? I don’t know that site.
There are all sorts of crackpots on the web, Does Karl get into specifics at all? Refer to sites? Give examples?

  8. Hit_Escape says:

As opposed to not representing 60 percent of Americans. You could say the same thing about Rove and his party.

  9. Seixon says:

I don’t think he could have said anything more accurate than that. That is DailyKos and Think Progress in a nutshell. Throwing people like Chris Matthews, Steny Hoyer, Lieberman, and others under the bus is what happens around these places. Hate and anger is what it is all about, calling Republicans and conservatives Nazis, fascists, and all sorts of other lovely things.

Come on guys, just admit it, what Rove said is true. Everything the leftie blogs have written the past few years proves it without a shadow of a doubt. The proof is there for everyone to read, there’s no use denying it.

  10. BRock says:

I wish I could say that I disagree with Dr. Evil on this. The hatred towards the President and the far right is much deserved, but the fact that any Democrat who isn’t marching in the streets for a withdrawal from Iraq is harrassed and maligned is pathetic, sad and troubling.

  11. marcus robinson says:

Is Karl Rove talking about the left bloggers or the right? This is exactly what the republicans do. “DINO” republican in name only for those who disagree with the idiot Bush. Let one of those mindles republicans step out of line and see what happens.

  12. Zookeeper says:

Wow. I guess we’ve been told off. Turd Blossom must be a tad worried. *big smile*

  13. marcus robinson says:

  14. Squid says:

And, unfortunately, comments don’t seem to be allowed to be published on any of the “Right thinking” blogs. Suckas!

Oh yeah, our “Lefty sites” are going to be made much more difficult to access if the Net is not allowed to remain a level playing field. The Righties got the MSM, and we got the Internet…Beware, I find myself more & more concerned for our (once) great FREE country.

  15. shrummybuddy says:

    he is partly correct.

  16. Mark says:

Whenever the White House, Republicans, or far right zealots criticize the left, liberals or progressive they always accuse us doing or being exactly what they are. If they had any moral conscious then they would look in the mirror and see exactly what there preaching against.

  17. WC says:

…calling Republicans and conservatives Nazis, fascists, and all sorts of other lovely things.

And Republicans have never done that to the other side. Oh no no no no.

  18. Mary Poppin says:

It is the Republican Nut that are Hateful and Angry not the Dems.

We have a right to dislike Old Bushie and his admin. He took us into a unjust war for OIL. He has destroyed everything the American people have worked for. This man is only for the rich not the middle class. I can go on and on but I won’t.

We need to impeach him and his admin.

  19. Seixon says:

    Squid,

If you think the Righties have the MSM, you need to help yourself to some reality. The MSM isn’t in it for either Left or Right, they are mostly in it for the Democrats. Which isn’t all that odd since about 70-80% of them are Democrats.

There are “Right thinking” blogs that allow comments, plenty of them. You have “Lefty sites” that don’t allow comments as well, and some of the ones that do heavily censor them or ban people for just having a different opinion, like Firedoglake.

Think Progress is pretty good at allowing comments, but places like FDL and DailyKos are abominable. Quit viewing the world with your partisan glasses and come join the rest of us in the middle.

  20. PLC (Progressive Liberal Christian) says:

To #15 No, he’s not “partly correct”. He’s “totally worried”. These blogs and the new progressive radio are having effects on Americans’ information base and thought process. Minds are being changed and that scares Karl Rove and his cabal.

  21. Seixon says:

    WC,

OK, so come up with some examples of things that are said about liberals. The worst I can think of is communists, and eh… naive… and… French? Surrender-monkeys? And, gasp, liberals!

As I always see time and time again, the left-wing calls the right-wing evil, while the right-wing calls the left-wing stupid and naive, and in some cases traitorous.

Sorry, I’d rather be called stupid, naive, or a traitor than evil, fascist, or Nazi.

  22. WC says:

There are “Right thinking” blogs that allow comments, plenty of them.

Name 10. I want to go see what they are saying about “the other side.”

  23. Seixon says:

    PLC,

Yeah, Rove is shaking in his boots alright. With Kos’ record with supporting candidates, we can see why Rove has now come out and publicly announced his nail-biting worry-filled nights about an impending liberal sweep in November. Yup.

Either that or you are just too delusional to see the writing on the wall. Rove most likely loves the liberal blogosphere for taking the Democrats so far left that the country doesn’t even recognize the party anymore.

  24. Curlew says:

More than anyone Reichsmarshall von Rove should know about hate and anger!!

  25. s says:

Make My Day Karl. Your time is up. :) Get ready for David and Goliath

  26. JIMBO says:

OOOOH! KKKarl’s afraid of the big bad bloggers. What’s he gonna do, cry to his mommy?

  27. Seixon says:

    WC,

Well I don’t think I visit 10 different conservative blogs regularly… but uh… Captain’s Quarters, WizBang, Expose the Left, JustOneMinute, LGF, Hot Air, The Strata-Sphere… Protein Wisdom… Sweetness & Light… hmm… one more… Patterico! That’s 10. Have a nice time!

In comparison, I have been effectively silenced at DailyKos and FDL.

  28. Alvord says:

Karl and other wingnuts are desperate to brand liberal/progressive bloggers as angry. Too bad the liberal/progressive bloggers aren’t cooperating with that theme. The YearlyKos convention put the lie to a lot of false stereotypes about lefty bloggers and that is one of them.

  29. Marie says:

Seixon comes to invade from another planet. There is no place on earth where he could get his facts as he states them.

  30. RunningDogLackey says:

    “Hate and anger.”

Christ, Karl’s obviously never taken a stroll through FreeRepublic or Little Green Slimeballs or Jeff “Shit-Faced Cockmaster” Goldstein.

“Hate and anger” is nothing compared to good old American “squeal-like-a-pig” hillbilly racism and spittle-flecked faux-patriotic boobosity.

  31. Jonathon says:

Wow. Karl certainly deserves the “George Orwell Newspeak” Award. Is it always opposite day in the GOP?

  32. Evil Spaniard says:

Yes, Seixon, the leftie blogs are soooooo evil that they let you spew your non sense freely.

On the other hand… maybe yes, the leftie blogs are really evil… they let you post to make all of us realize your fragile mental health…

  33. milbog says:

    #20

What makes you think that anyone besides the moonbats actually listens to Air America or posts here? Do a comparison of ratings. How many Air America stations went off the air this year? Do you really think that someone is going to switch sides by reading your posts? You really need help! The last thing Karl is afraid of is you.

  34. Seixon says:

    Alvord,

Of course liberals are not angry when they are with each other having a little party to celebrate themselves. Just go to their blogs on any day of the week. The anger is there right on display in the window. Quit denying it.

    Marie,

You are now the next person on the list of Think Progress commenters who don’t come with anything but a blanket BS statement. What facts? How about challenging me on something next time instead of feigning having a clue.

    RunningDogLackey,

Most of the anger at LGF is directed at Islamic terrorists – not liberal Americans. Big difference. I have no familiarity with Freeperville, so I won’t speak on their behalf.

  35. ascholar says:

I believe we’re past the second stage now — they’re attacking us. Next stage: we win.
-Gandhi (”First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they attack you, then you win.”)

  36. Marie says:

Is Karl afraid of Kos? or of TP? Or maybe Huffington? Or Crooks and Liars – Where they actually show videotape?
Between Air America (which they constantly denigrate) and the blogosphere (which he denounces today), the public is finding alternative views from the White House propagandists.
Was all this prompted by the meeting last week in Vegas?

  37. Seixon says:

    Evil Spaniard,

Where did I say liberal blogs were evil? I said, quite correctly, that DailyKos and FDL have effectively silenced me so I cannot comment at their blogs. Why is that? Want to make a guess?

  38. dlet says:

Rove must live in Bizarro World where everything is opposite from reality. On the other hand I really do “hate” writing about the loss of freedoms and democracy and I am “angry” about how this administration lies to the American people. If you put his statement in the Republican ACME 2000 Spinatron then I guess it would be correct.

  39. s says:

I think there should be a creation of a blog on the left dedicated to nothing other than to deal with everything Rove says,….in depth. To analyze it, discuss it, clarify it and immediately RESPOND to it. The blog should be called “IS THAT SO KARL?” And there should be links to multiple news outlets, politicians, BLOGS, public service organizations etc. Sort of like what the TPM muckraker is to Talking Points Memo. This dude is allowed to have his turds hang in the air (without effective and swift response) too often. Time to put Karl to bed. What say ye?

  40. Seixon says:

    dlet,

So you admit you are both angry and that you do hate the Republicans, yet it is spin for Rove to say that you are both things, and that the liberal blogosphere expresses this hate and anger? LOL.

Come on, just bite your teeth together and admit that the liberal blogosphere is filled with hate and anger. It doesn’t matter if you think this is completely justified – it’s still there.

  41. Marie says:

The hate mongers on the right have held sway over the land for fifteen years now and the tide is turning. They can’t stand it — they can dish it out but they can’t take it.

  42. RunningDogLackey says:

If you look closely, you’ll notice that anyone who isn’t a “Lizard” is considered an Islamic Terrorist at LGF. Rachel Corrie. Juan Cole. Michael Berg. Occasionally even GW.

If you aren’t prepared to nuke every brown person in the ME — and anyone who considers diplomacy a reasonable alternative to seared flesh — you can’t go “man-cycling” with Charles Johnson.

  43. Seixon says:

    s,

Why don’t you just go ahead and do it? If you’ve got a couple of bucks, just do it yourself. Hell, give me those bucks and I will help you do it.

  44. Spudge_Boy says:

OK, so come up with some examples of things that are said about liberals. The worst I can think of is communists, and eh… naive… and… French? Surrender-monkeys? And, gasp, liberals!

    Hey dickhead,

You forgot terrorist sympathizers, communists, anti-American, unpatriotic. You know those things are said by the righties all the time. Yourself included.

  45. Spudge_Boy says:

I said, quite correctly, that DailyKos and FDL have effectively silenced me so I cannot comment at their blogs. Why is that? Want to make a guess?

Oh, Seixon, IRI posted a link to your hypothesis on the sun getting warmer by that geologist in Canada… It’s nonsense. And further proof that you are a conservative if IRI buys it.

Your theoretically ’sceinetist’ says that the sun is getting warmer because it is getting ‘brighter’. Well, in order for a star to get brighter, it equally has to get bigger or younger. Since that is the exact OPPOSITE of reality (when you fuse 4 hydrogen atoms into one helium atom, you lose atomic mass through discarded electrons – which give us light and heat).

The reality is that the sun, and all stars, are SHRINKING – therefore they are diminishing in brightness, and over the course of billions of years – they are burning cooler (why new stars are blue-white and old stars are red – and our sun a main sequence star in the middle of its life is yellow – middle color).

So, with that debunked, you are now considered incompetent to spout scientific facts. I was trying to give you the benefit of the doubt, but you just wanted to lob ad hominem attacks. Now I see why. It’s all you have on the matter…

  47. Seixon says:

    #42,

Actually, I have taken on people at LGF before and I have not been called a terrorist or anything else. You are painting LGF commenters with a very broad brush, and that’s just dishonest. There are racist people at LGF, just like there are people here who would love to see someone shoot and kill Bush. Liberal sites have no problem with making racist remarks about Michelle Malkin.

Stop being a partisan dupe who just generalizes about everyone and everything.

We can ‘t accept anything that Rove spewspins at face value. Is he liking that the Democrats are in their chickenshit moderrate / DNC leadership / Bob Frum mode so they can get close again but no cigar (remember the cigars, Bill?). Attention all Democrats, now is the time, GET UP, STAND UP or STFU.

  50. milbog says:

The tide is turning? How is that? I don’t remember any democrats getting elected in the two special elections held for open seats. I really don’t think that you can say that the tide is turning until after November.

It’s all the same, qualitatively, isn’t it? Or are you just that sensitive?

And how about you present some examples of “lefty” blogs repeatedly urging death, pain and damnation on other human beings. Right-wing blogs love the bloodthirsty stuff. We get pissy and make obvious historical comparisons that you folks chafe at. But wingers really seem to crave death and vengeance.

  55. Unholy Moses says:

    Sexion–
And I have been banned at Red State, LGF, Wizbang and Protein Wisdom — not for being a troll, but for asking questions that were backed up by links to facts. Seriously … I came in looking for honest discussion and got banned for not being one of their sheep.

And why is it that the biggest left blogs allow comments (Eschaton, TP, etc.), while the biggest right ones don’t at all (Instapundit, Malking, etc.)?

Face it — when it comes to hate, there is plenty on the right. Except theirs are aimed at any not Christian, anyone that thinks Bush sucks, and anyone who thinks Iraq was a mistake.

As far as the anger on the left goes, what do you expect when we see our country being taken down a path that’s 180 degrees from what it’s supposed to stand for (you know, like our Prez okaying torture, violating civil rights, invading countries without being attacked first, locking up citizens and denying them access to a lawyer)?

Our anger is due to our love for America. The right’s anger is due to their hate of everyone who disagrees with them. It’s really that simple.

  56. dlet says:

I really do “hate” writing about the loss of freedoms and democracy and I am “angry” about how this administration lies to the American people.
    Comment by dlet

So you admit you are both angry and that you do hate the Republicans
    Comment by Seixon

I will admit there is hate everywhere humans get together. But I will add that I believe from my own experiences that the right oozes of hatred far more than the left. Also thanks for agreeing with me that the Republicans are doing what I said…lieing and taking away our freedoms and democracy. At least you don’t blind your eyes to it. Weird though that you accept it.

  57. Seixon says:

    #44 Spudge,

You forgot terrorist sympathizers, communists, anti-American, unpatriotic. You know those things are said by the righties all the time. Yourself included.

Actually, I already said communists. Can you read? Terrorist-sympathizers, sure. Anti-American, sure. Unpatriotic, sure. Is that worse than being EVIL? No, not really. Not very many prominent conservatives say these types of things, but prominent lefties routinely say that Republicans are evil, that Bush and Rumsfeld and Cheney are evil, and that they want to harm the USA.

Myself included? Want to back that up? You’re a poor liar. Put up or shut up, I haven’t called any liberal any of those things you just said. Prove it or admit you are trying to smear me like a cheap partisan hack.

    Because your a retarded asshole?

Well then, I think I rest my case on this topic. LOL. Angry much? LOL.

    #46,

Oh, Seixon, IRI posted a link to your hypothesis on the sun getting warmer by that geologist in Canada… It’s nonsense. And further proof that you are a conservative if IRI buys it.

It’s nonsense? Because… you want it to be or because you have some credible argument against it? I don’t care whether IRI linked to anything I have given, and that doesn’t mean it is automatically wrong or proof that I’m a conservative. I was asked for links about studies about the Sun’s role in global warming, and I gave it. If you hate the facts as much as you do, fine.

So, with that debunked, you are now considered incompetent to spout scientific facts. I was trying to give you the benefit of the doubt, but you just wanted to lob ad hominem attacks. Now I see why. It’s all you have on the matter…

LOL. This is completely wrong. The Sun even gets warmer and cooler from year to year, and has known variability in this that spans different periods. Yeah, debunked, my ass. Every solar scientist would laugh you out of the building.

Where’s my ad hominem attacks? Look above for examples of people attacking ME with personal attacks instead of engaging in debate, while proving for everyone that what I said was correct.

  58. marcus robinson says:

The tide is turning?? Yes it is and Rove and the “do nothing republicans” can feel it comming. This republican ran congress has done nothing good for america as a whole. All you have to do is look at the debate yestereday. What a damn joke, just like republicans….A REAL JOKE!!!

  59. Jay Randal says:

Seixon lol I knew you would reveal that you work for Karl Rove! I repeat nobody defends Karl Rove for FREE on TP or any other progressive blog site! Rove is a human slug and the most vile hypocrite who ever crawled in slime from out under a rock!

  60. Tom In Maine says:

Interestring words from TurdBlossom, I didn’t see any mention about the hate and anger that spews forth as verbal diareahha from the likes of Rush Limbaugh, Bill O’reilly, Ann Coulter, Mary Matlin and on and on and on.

Apparently what those people is for the betterment of mankind, “Yeah Right”!

  61. Mary Poppin says:

#55 Unholy Mose I agree with you 100%. The Right is angry with everyone that does not agree with them. What more can you say.

  62. RunningDogLackey says:

    #57

Sorry, Seixon. Name-calling doesn’t really rise to the level of “hate and anger.”

And certainly, if personal attacks the metric, Karl needs to include ALL the sites you visit.

Seriously, the Right is at least as pissed-off that they can’t accomplish anything as the majority, as we are that that they’ve hijacked the nation’s policies.

Karl’s wrong. It’s tit-for-tat, even-steven at best. He’s succeeded at dividing the nation, and now he’s just stirring the pot.

  63. unbelievable says:

Funny thing is, I don’t hate anybody… I distrust them enough to want to keep an eye on them, be skeptical of everything out of tehir mouths, and insiste they be removed from office when they break the law – but I don’t need to hate to do it. I just need to be aware and vocal and pro-active.

Hate festers inside of you. Makes you look like these neocons who appear anorexic, pasty, obese, squinched, and generally unhealthy. Why they resort to the booze and drugs to assuage their hate. It’s a stressful life. I know, I used to live it. And I wouldn’t go back for anything. I watched it eat my father away. It’s the lowest quality of life there is. Poverty is nothing in comparision.

So, Karl, I don’t hate you – just think you are an immoral sociopath who deserves to rot in prision for your unPatriotic actions.

  64. JJ says:

Actually, I think you can tie the boom in the blogosphere to people wanting to do something, anything, during the runup to the war. Mainstream media wasn’t doing its job. So people were kind of forced to share things in an underground medium.

    And it’s happening again:

A recent article by Laura Rozen for the Los Angeles Times revealed the Pentagon has created yet another Office of Special Plans-type body called the Directorate for Iran, or the Iranian Directorate… The notorious Office of Special Plans – which focused on Iraq — is now believed by most experts to have provided a secondary conduit of cherry-picked intelligence on Iraq to Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld and the White House.

So yes. Bloggers are sometimes intemperate and frustrated-sounding. I think it goes with the territory.

By the way, Seixon, I admire your tenacity in posting in this blog’s comments. But back in the climate change thread discussion we had, it seemed that you were into debate for its own sake. Occam’s Razor and common-sense assumptions seemed in short supply in many of your comments…

  65. Jackie says:

What do you expect from a criminal and Satan loyalist. Rove is pure evil and he’s a working poster for how low our govenment has gone. Every real Christen knows that God said Satan would rule and other christens leaders would use God’s name to do Satan’s work. Well folks the bible didn’t lie your living what was told. Satan is now in charge of the United States govenment and christiens loyal to Satan are pushing the propaganda. Thank goodness Tony Snow is letting us know he’s a true racist and publicly uses his job as Press Secretary to tell he is working hard for Satan because only Satan would call our dead troops numbers you see these men/women aren’t human to Satan. The GOP and some Dems are all using the word God but truly and loyally working for Satan.

  66. Seixon says:

    Sunhawk,

I would guess because… well… forgive me, but you do come across as a moderately educated troll.

I’m a troll because I have weighed in on the issue at hand in this thread while you are… going after me? How’s what I have said “trolling” while what you are doing is not? Give me a break, you hypocrite.

    #53 unbelievable,

You violated their site policy. Period.

Eh, which is what, not saying anything contrary to what they say? LOL. For having a different opinion? For saying inconvenient facts? Give me a break, you hopeless soul.

Oh, and you use these blogs to advertize your own.

Advertise my own? I link to a post of mine once and again, yes. That’s mostly to let people read what I have to say about a subject in greater detail. Of course, around here nobody is interested because they don’t care about thinking other than the program installed by Think Progress into their brains.

    #54 RunningDog,

It’s all the same, qualitatively, isn’t it? Or are you just that sensitive?

Calling someone a terrorist dupe is nowhere the same as calling them EVIL. Yes, I am “sensitive” if that means understanding the meaning of plain English words.

And how about you present some examples of “lefty” blogs repeatedly urging death, pain and damnation on other human beings.

Is this where I go digging up posts where they want to see people in the Bush administration, or Republicans, dead? Because I could, and you know I would find lots of nice examples. Stop pretending that either side of the political arena is immune from this disease.

    Unholy Moses,

Our anger is due to our love for America. The right’s anger is due to their hate of everyone who disagrees with them. It’s really that simple.

Oh please. The Left is mad because no one agrees with them. It’s that simple. At least you had the balls to admit that the Left is angry and hateful, although you consider it to be justified. That’s the only way anyone on the Left can get out of this, because the FACT is that the Left is angry and full of hate.

Yes, the right-wing is also full of hate, against gays, Muslims, you name it. However, that part of the right-wing is not as prominent as the left-wing that hates Republicans and are so angry all the time about every little thing.

    dlet,

Also thanks for agreeing with me that the Republicans are doing what I said…lieing and taking away our freedoms and democracy. At least you don’t blind your eyes to it. Weird though that you accept it.

Taking away freedoms and democracy? What have you lost the last 5 years? Name one thing. Please, give me a break. That’s a big lie and you know it, it’s a propaganda ploy by the Left to scare people into thinking that the Bush administration is the 2nd coming of the Third Reich.

All politicians lie at some point or another, and I don’t think either the Republicans nor Democrats hold the title for doing it the worst. The roles change when either one of them is in power.

  67. Schwede says:

LOL. This is completely wrong. The Sun even gets warmer and cooler from year to year, and has known variability in this that spans different periods. Yeah, debunked, my ass. Every solar scientist would laugh you out of the building.

Oh stop it. We’re not talking about slight annual variations. You’re trying to link it to long-term Global Warming. And that is not only nonsense, but extremely deceptive.

I already showed you why iyou are wrong with these things called facts… and you didn’t argue with a single fact I posted on the sun. Not one, just started making gross statements without a single fact or explanation – as usual. Oh, and trying to speak for the entire solar community when you aren’t capable or competent to do so.

Seixon = IRI. There is no difference. Except, in comparision, IRI has manners.

Where’s my ad hominem attacks? Look above for examples of people attacking ME with personal attacks instead of engaging in debate, while proving for everyone that what I said was correct.

How quickly you forget. You call people names all the time. It’s already been pointed out to you. Repeatedly. But I’d be happy to go dig some up…

You’ve yet to say anything correct. You just espouse your opinions and expect people to accept them. Doesn’t work that way Seixon. Not in reality. Perhaps you should go back to your make-believe universe where the sun is responsible for global warming… ridiculous.

  71. Glenn Becker says:

“Karl Rove is no more a creep than Howard Dean.”

Hmm. Karl Rove is the “architect” of GWB’s ascent … a fairly creepy accomplishment, that: setting a bored but power hungry little fraternity shit at the peak of world power. Yeah, that creeps me out pretty fully.

On the other hand I guess people _were_ creeped out by Dean’s “yell” back during the last Dem. primaries. Yeah.

    Yeah, sure, those are comparable.

  72. Jerad says:

If you say Rove is wrong, prove it.

    1) Get Hilary to Run as your Democrat Canidate
    2) Help Libermann retain his seat

All I hear is that anything outside of an extreme left wing canidate simply will not cut it for the bloggers. Sadly, that is how you lose elections as well.

  73. JJ says:

Seixon: The Left is mad because no one agrees with them.

Oh people agree with us. Just not in the short term. What is the old saying? Something like “a Republican is someone who worships dead liberals?”

  74. Zeke says:

For once Rove ALMOST got it right. Except for a few words, his statement was right on. I’ve taken the liberty of correcting those few words for him:

Talk radio for the Right…has served as a way to mobilize hate and anger — hate and anger, first and foremost, at President Clintonand Liberals, but then also at people within their own party whom they consider to be less than completely loyal to this very narrow, very out-of-the-mainstream, very far Right-wing ideology that they tend to represent.”

No need to thank me Karl. It was the least I could do.

  75. JJ says:

Seixon: The Left is mad because no one agrees with them.

And people agree with us in the short term too. The right just convinces them that they don’t.

  76. Glenn Becker says:

“The Left is mad because no one agrees with them.”

Logically this is a false statement.

A true (truer) statement would be something along the lines of “The Left is mad because an insufficient number of people agree with them to overcome the election-tampering done by the Right.”

  77. dlet says:

    Seixon,
Just because at the end of your “statements” you add…..”come on you know it to be true” won’t win people over if you don’t base things on facts. Rove has been cleared of all charges and in my opinion, innocent. The one thing he is guilty of, is knowing how to defeat democrats. Since when is that a crime?

  80. Jay Randal says:

LOL Seixon > you just keep digging the hole deeper proving that you get paid to defend Karl Rove on here! The other Bush trolls like I-R-I and Mighty Aphrodite turned down this assignment for this thread, but you accepted the 30 pieces of silver to do it!

Two ad hominems in one post! How much more proof do you need?

God forbid they actually address any concerns or change policy based on the popular will of the country. Can it never get to the point where we are upset with how our ‘elected’ officials are governing? It’s democrary, not hatred.

    Comment by Seixon — June 16, 2006 @ 3:57 pm

Seixon, I didn’t post my opinion on teh sun. I posted FACTS.

You honestly don’t get how 4 hydrogen atoms at 1 atomic unit each, fuse into 1 helium atom that only weighs 2 atomic units with the electrons that are cast off leaving the sun (solar energy) as light and heat. You go from 4 atomic units down to two. That means it is shrinking. It’s basic chemistry and subtraction.

Wow, you really thought i was making stuff up? Dude, did you sleep through 7th grade when they teach tha the sun is composed of hydrogen which is burning itself out because the output (light and heat) is a result of nuclear fusion?

Color of a star has to do with its temperature. Blue-white is the hottest, yellow is medium, and red is the coolest. A star starts out blue-white when it has a lot of fuel and then as it burns its hydrogen, it cools to a red star. In the case of the sun, it will first exoand, then collapse, and then supernova when it runs out of hydrogen in about 5.5 billion years.

Wow Seixon, I feel sorry for you. I had no idea you were retarded… Hope my basic Science lesson helped, so you’ll let go of that sun warming nonsense. Though, I bet you still don’t understand, huh?

  88. For Truth says:

I’d say Rovey feels a little defensive. After he got off recently, the left blogoshere attacked him pretty good. Sometimes a person’s level of defensiveness to a matter is telling, like maybe he knows he’s a guilty lier. I also feel Rove is indirectly attacking free speech via the internet, another reason for this administration to regulate the last place free speech has to hide from them.

Did Rovey actually read some blogs? Or did a staffer get all bent about something they read?

Oh and Rovey, your pushing the “far left narrow out of the mainstream” blogs ever closer to mainstream by bringing them into the light if the MSM. Good job boy.

  89. Jay Randal says:

Seixon lol the only DOPE on this thread is yourself! Only a complete utter fool would agree to defend that creep Karl Rove on here! Even Judd is laughing at you for all your nonsense!

  90. milbog says:

    Eric,

What exactly are you talking about? Are you saying that we don’t have elections? Elected politicians are the result of popular will of this country. Now if in November, more people decide that democrats would do a better job on security, the economy, education, etc, then they will be voted into office. Once in power, they cannot base every decision on the will of the people. James Carville was on the Today show this morning discussing that very topic and some of the problems we face today are because Clinton was unwilling to make the hard decisions that might jeopardize his poll numbers. I’d rather have my leaders stand on principle as Reagan did and Bush is doing now, than someone who is constantly sticking his thumb in the wind to see what direction to go in. Hey, if you’re not satisfied with the direction of the country, then get enough people to vote for who you think will turn it, but for now, the people have spoken.

  91. Jeffrey Stewart says:

I hate it when other people try to tell me when I hate something or when I am angry. That is something that I tell them!

It is ironic that a crowd that ran in 2000 on Clinton hating thinks there is something wrong with hating the moron’s policies that are destroying this country!

  92. Seixon says:

    unbelievable,

Figures you wouldn’t know. You’re supopsed to read the ‘rules’ before posting. I’m sure the biggesttwo you violated were spam (insulting people who don’t read your blog) andverbally attacking other posters.

Aha. Except I did neither in each instance. In fact, especially at DailyKos, I was mindfully being very careful, but still got silenced because I wasn’t sticking to the liberal dogma. I don’t insult anyone who doesn’t read my blog, I only do that when they ask me for links or my take on something and don’t read my blog when I present it as documentation. I don’t attack anyone unless they attack me first.

At FDL I got banned merely for proving poor old Hamsher completely wrong about something. She took the opportunity to rewrite my post and make me out to be an inbred racist hillbilly. Yeah, I’m sure you’ll come up with an excuse for that too.

You are seriously using selective memory. You mention your blog every time you post, andhave repeatedly insulted e for refusing to read it when you come here and we do not go there.

You must have a FAULTY memory. I haven’t linked to anything on my blog on here for a while now. I can’t even remember the last post I linked at here in the comments. I only “insulted” you for not reading my blog because you asked me for something, I told you to get it at my blog, and then you refused. I don’t insult anyone for not reading it, only when dupes like you ask for proof of something, I point to my blog, and then you make up some ridiculous excuse not to read it.

I’ll be clear – you don’t use FACTS. You post your OPINION. Not wanting to hear your opinion doesn’t make anyone close-minded, it makes them smart. Go get some facts and we’ll be happy to debate – but continue spouting your opinions as such and no one will take you seriously. You’re just getting what you’re selling, after all…

Eh, look, commenters here have already proven what I said. Do I really need to prove that liberal blogs are angry and hateful? I mean, it’s like having to prove that, yes, the sky is blue. What a riot. It’s like denying evolution or something.

Wow Seixon, I feel sorry for you. I had no idea you were retarded… Hope my basic Science lesson helped, so you’ll let go of that sun warming nonsense. Though, I bet you still don’t understand, huh?

So that explains why the FACTS remain that the Sun outputs varying degrees of heat every year? Your “science lesson” is as simple as it is completley ignorant of the fact being sought here. Start reading up on sunspots and the FACT that the Sun is outputting differently all the time, up and down. Go look at some of the links I provided last time. Plenty of stuff to back me up on this. This only goes to show that when people present complex systems such as the Sun as if they were a couple atoms of hydrogen they are oversimplifying and misleading.

That’s the global warming hysteria in a nutshell: treating a complex system as if it is only us, cars, and the atmosphere in the picture.

  93. Marty Didier says:

Karl Rove is a sick dysfunctional misfit who unfortunately found his way to a control position within out Government. What’s worse is the underlying criminal activities that exist that haven’t yet surfaced and when they do, will completely explain what this man, the current President, some past Presidents and those around him in the Federal Government are all about.

I was in a Criminal Family for more than 26 years who are directly linked to the existing Political Criminal Corruption activities. What is waiting for everyone are the more extreme serious criminal activities that have yet to surface. Right now, Its about corruption, but wait there’s something much worse right around the corner. When it surfaces, Karl Rove, “Mr Turdblossom” will finally show us who he really is and what the others were really all about all along.

At that time, it’ll be interesting to witness how we decide what REALLY should be the fate of people who have their own selfish agenda’s with how they have Governed us? There is a lot many don’t know, but when it surfaces, you can bet there will be a huge change of heart. Wait, as the best has yet to come

Seems to me many, many, MANY more people disagree with the right.

However, that part of the right-wing is not as prominent as the left-wing that hates Republicans and are so angry all the time about every little thing.
    –Sexion

You’re kidding me, right? Coulter has been on national TV three times in the past week … Hannity, Rush and the like are on the air every single day.

If anything, those on the right who yell out their ideological obscenities seem to get much, much more play than anyone on the left ever has.

As far as the left being angry, what do you expect us to do? Just sit around and take it? To quote Bede Jarrett:

The world needs anger. The world often continues to allow evil because it isn’t angry enough.

  95. Seixon says:

The latest from NASA, the Sun’s output varies:

The Sun’s energy output varies on time scales of seconds to centuries to eons and takes two principal forms: electromagnetic radiation and the emission of charged particles. The solar electromagnetic radiation varies the least at visible wavelengths (the regime that most directly affects weather and climate) and varies the most at short (ultraviolet and X-ray) and radio wavelengths. The charged particles that carry a portion of the Sun’s energy include both the relatively low-energy plasma of the solar wind and high-energy particles, such as solar energetic protons, which have been accelerated to velocities near the speed of light. The solar wind varies both recurrently, as a function of the Sun’s 27-day rotational period, and sporadically, in response to violent eruptive events in the corona, which also accelerate energetic particles to near-relativistic velocities. An essential requirement for understanding the Sun-Earth connection is understanding the causes of solar variability and determining the mechanisms by which the energy generated in the Sun’s core is released into space.

That’s the global warming hysteria in a nutshell: treating a complex system as if it is only us, cars, and the atmosphere in the picture.

That is Republican debate in a nutshell: misrepresenting what the other side is saying. Show me one peer reviewed article out of the 900 or so demonstrating man-made global warming that assumes us, cars, and the atmosphere are the only factors.

Back on topic, Karl Rove has a point. while we hatefully debate how to solve problems like global warming, national debt, and terrorism, conservative blogs are looking to the future, a future where liberals are rounded up, put in internment camps, and shot for treason.

    Way to go Rove!

  98. jurassicpork says:

Yadda yadda yadda. Same old shit. Lieberman wore that threadbare months ago.

They’ve finally reached a point where they actually ran out of fresh talking points and other tidbits of propaganda.

If Rove’s attacking us, that means we’ ve gotten the GOP’s attention, which means they fear us.

Which means that we’re onto something.

In other news, in Paul Krugman’s latest, he says he fears the fear of inflation more than inflation itself.

I’m glad that someone besides me is addressing this issue.

  99. Jon says:

    “hate and anger”

No, but lets get real here. There is much frustration and often a lack of clear direction on these sites. What I think we should be doing here is coming up w/ a cohegent plan, get rid of the differences between us on the left and come up with the issues we can actually agree on and work from there.

That’s what we are missing, but that doesn’t make us wrong by any stretch of the imagination. As much of a slime Rove is, we need to at least learn from his strategy of bringing Conservative’s together with a clear message. (trust me, it hurt to say something positive about the chode.) But as I said: Lets get real. I for one want to actually see this stuff resolved instead of just bitching about it.

The Democrat’s issues seem to now include fighting freedom of expression in Video Games and some kind of COPS program. These will NOT make a connection w/ the voters. We need to get rid of these side projects and focus on the things we and the people actually care about, or should know about. It would be wise to keep the list short and sweet.

    what we are for:

-Civil Liberties (which includes Freedom of Religion)
    -Preserving our Constitution
    -punishing Terrorists (not creating them)
-Pragmatic Resolution on the War in Iraq (not just more Rhetoric)

Is anyone working on this stuff already… I mean, where the hell are they?
I know this may seem lame and sometimes it feels good to just vent, but what else can we agree on so that something can actually begin to get done about it.

    Regards,

#115 The war in Iraq has been wrapping up for three years now. See Bush’s and Cheney’s comments about turning points and last throes. But hey, can’t fault your optimism. Maybe some of our war dead and wounded can, but I can’t.

The economy is strong, but no economy is strong against infinite debt. The debt we build up today will bite us tomorrow. The simple solution to medicare, social security, etc is to pay down the debt. And if we’re running record deficits when the economy is strong, what do you prognosticate when we hit a downward cycle? You do realize the economy goes in cycles, right? Or did Bush put and end to that?

No attacks on American soil by al Qaeda between 2001 and 2006. Also note, there were no attacks between 1993 and 2001. Does that fill your heart with optimism?

Also, Conservatives were plenty pessimistic when Clinton was President.

I’d love to stick around for yet another thread derailed by people going after me as a person and what I am doing in Norway, but now I’m done killing time and I’m going to have myself a few beers.

In the meantime, Mr. Randal, I suggest you speak to the admins at TP and get them to check my IP so that you can stop lying like the dishonest hack that you are. You have no rights to my personal information. It’s funny that you would go on and on about wanting me to divulge stuff about myself, but you’d scream about the NSA checking up on people in the US talking to terrorists on the phone.

Hypocrit like all the rest. Have fun attacking me while I’m gone!

  126. redneck hick says:

Sexion, from what I understand Norway is a very liberal country, with a national savings (not a national debt), the highest gas taxes in the world, and are now investing in zero-carbon energy. So maybe you don’t believe in global warming, but it seems most of your countrymen do.

    Is that right?

  127. unbelievable says:

You’re full of it. You asked me for links, I gave you a link to my blog to see it, then you said you didn’t wanna read my blog..

I call Bullshit. You did not give me a link to your blog, which is not the same lie you just told above about posting them here. What you can’t cut and paste off your own blog? You’d find it faster than I could. If its there. Not that it matters since you clearly have mistaken solar wind (which affects cell phone sand satellites and auroras and NOT heat) for Global Warming.

I’m not gonna read your blog. Get over it. you came here. You have to put up here or shut up.

Please, I only attack back when people get nasty with me, this very thread can be submitted into evidence.

Seixon – you repeatedly show up and slam people. This thread is pure validation of you doing exactly that. People just stood up to your ad hominem attack that came FIRST.

As for your excellent memory, I’d say it is more selective and, um, dishonest than excellent. You are not recounting the issue above correctly or honestly.

Oh yes I am. I have witnesses and others who agree with me. You have, uh, your opinion.

They are also yearly and multiyearly. So I guess you have just admitted that I was right, that the Sun’s output does vary. Thanks, that’s all I was saying.

Nonsense. You and I were having a Global Warming discussion for which you claimed was a result of solar warming. The fluxuations are negligible. Most of them have been electromagnetic (your NASA reference busted you on that).

You are linking the two. I’m saying that you are wrong to do so. We do not agree. Not on this as a factor in Global Warming. It would be assinine to have the conversation outside of the context.

Again, most people are smarter than you think you are. We know what you’re trying to do. And it’s not working. We see through you and your nonsense.

Uh, I posted a dozen links in the very thread you asked for links. Go back and check, oh “honest” one. I’m not wasting my time digging up stuff I already gave you.

I did, reapeatedly, and there was never anything posted. I even asked you for weeks afterward and you just ignored me for a couple of months. You won’t because you CAN’T because it does not exist and you are a liar.

Wow, you’ve just called a bunch of scientists idiots. Good job.
    Comment by Seixon — June 16, 2006 @ 5:00 pm

You mean a bunch of theoretically geologists making claims about climate and astronomy? LOL… silly boy, they are not applicable to this issue….

  128. Jay Randal says:

Lol Seixon I really punched your buttons today > post 147 proves it! Only someone who fabricates their life is afraid to talk about it > no one wants to know your real name, address or phone number, nor the name of your employer in Norway! Many in here say what profession they do > lawyer, doctor, student, or whatever > but you are too afraid to even say that?! Get off your high horse and STOP calling people names on here! Everytime you go on a personal attack you lose the debate, so grow up wherever you are please!

Note: my descendants are in the future so cannot rule over Norway in the past! Ancestors are the word I think you wanted to use > lol.

  129. unbelievable says:

Hypocrit like all the rest. Have fun attacking me while I’m gone!
    Comment by Seixon — June 16, 2006 @ 5:11 pm

It’s spelled ‘hypocrite’. And it’s more fun to attack your arguments when you’re present.

  130. Seixon says:

    redneck,

Norway isn’t THAT liberal, but more liberal than the US, sure. Not too harsh on criminals, very heavy taxes on just about everything, very healthy national budget due to the insane amounts of oil that is allotted to the country, but more and more privatiziation going on to get more effective services.

The Earth is warmer than it was 30 years ago, sure, but I don’t believe that it will continue doing so or that CO2 emissions are the largest cause of this warming. Most places in the world are no warmer than they were in the 1930s.

I’m not sure what my countrymen think about the subject, there hasn’t been any recent polls on the subject. The only poll I remember is one on TV, but those are always unrepresentative. In that case, overwhelmingly people did not buy into the global warming hype. The poll followed a panel discussion about extreme weather, where the TV host mentioned that they couldn’t get a single climatologist to come on the show…….

    Now I’m off! Take care!

  131. Jay Randal says:

Karl Rove wants to know all about Americans by NSA wiretapping, so go yell at him about that crap Seixon! Nobody will bother talking about you after you leave > we will be happy!

  132. unbelievable says:

    Debunking Seixon:

In the 1970s it was “global cooling”. Now it’s global warming. I guess there’s no such thing as “global statis”.

Nope, change is a normal cycle of life and the universe.

Funny that in March he was mocking solar fluxuations…

  133. Jay Randal says:

Wow unbelievable > I rest my case on Seixon! See just mention Norway and what he does there and he goes ballistic?!

  134. My Take on it ... says:

This, coming from the king of slander, slime and hate? hahahaha. The Ann Coulter Republicana are getting pretty desperate.

  135. unbelievable says:

Proof that Seixon lied about posting the links.

The last post of our discussuion was by me to him, with no response… you can read the end of the blog to verify.

Show me your links. I’ll take them seriously. I’m open for an honest debate without name calling or condescention. I’d just like to see the evidence you have myself. Just like any good attorney would do before making an argument. Fair enough? Thanks

    Jay,

When I was a kid my father told me the problem with lying is that once you tell one lie. you have to tell others to maintain that original lie, until eventually you trip up and get caught. Seixon is proof of that.

It’s 5:40 here. That makes it 11:40 there. He’s just going out now? Sure. Whatever.

Alright, off to something else. Enjoy your evening!

  137. Skeptic says:

    Everyone;
While I normally don’t like Wikepedia as a source, they had some nice articles about solar cycles, and fluctuation. I looked it up while you were squabbling.
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Solar_variation

I could be wrong, but it looks like latest general conclusion is that the overall warming trend can not be attributed to solar variation. The solar cycle for the most part is 11 years, and the warming trend is going consistently upward not in an 11 year warming and cooling cycle. Some early reports of Solar caused global warming was caused by bad interpretation of data and statistics.

Sexion: when people ask for links, they normally mean “link to a trustworthy primary source, not an opinion page”. So a link to NASA is good, a link to National Enquirer is not. They also would like a direct link if possible, not
see Mary’s blog, which links to Tom’s Blog which links to Big Newspaper which links to Famous professor’s web page.

  138. Jay Randal says:

Yes post 160 we won the thread fight with Seixon and I have to go work in my garden before it gets dark!

  139. Zookeeper says:

Ya’ll, I usually just ask Seixon if he’s stopped beating his wife, or if he’s a convicted felon. Saves a wee bit of time…

  140. Skeptic says:

I am getting really fed up with people who can’t give sources for their facts ( fantasies ). Its like when that poor Greek Historian used to write “And I was told that in those mountains were men that had only one eye”
Or like the story of the geese that turned into barnacles for the winter.

I had a friend who did that — “I heard from another Friend that knitting was invented in the Bronze age, and she knew this because she bought a knitting pattern at a museum in Norway that was a bog shirt pattern. And my Friend is a veterinarian and a knitter so therefore she knows all about Bronze ages in Norway and textile history there.” This is actually more well sourced than some facts on this thread but you can see where the facts could have been lost.

  141. SKdeA says:

Hate and anger? Pretty strong words… I feel more like disgust and impatience.

  142. anonymous says:

There has been a change in the blogs–Kos as well as FDL. It has become potty mouth at FDL, agressively defending the “regulars” who may be critized for their rah rah comments against those they deem are “whining”–they actually attack their own, and Kos, who is being propelled up there with the rich and famous–

The Los Vegas bash is being heralded as a great success–but from what I read, it was nothing more than a great stroking party.

I am dismayed at the direction these blogs are taking. I don’t think they really have that much power, no matter how much they try to spin it–it has become a club that may be the source of the accusations by Rove, who has jumped on it, true to his fashion, immediately.

I don’t have that much confidence in these blogs at all anymore.

  143. trollsareidiots says:

Sexion how do you defend Karl in essence calling Kerry and Murtha cowards –
yet Rove NEVER served in a war he SUPPORTED. Yeah I hate assholes like
    Rove.

  144. Juan C says:

Sorry, I’d rather be called stupid, naive, or a traitor than evil, fascist, or Nazi.

    Comment by Seixon

    You got it.

  145. the war took everything I had says:

Traitor Rove is the master of spitting out anger and hate. It’s called transference. After all, his daddy didn’t love him. Check out his family history and you will understand why he is such an unloved traitor.

  146. devin says:

Karl & the gang are masters of ‘projection’. Ann Coulter is the poster gal for their entire group, a crude hate monger of the first order. They ALWAYS project on others what they themselves engage in 24/7. It is a very simple tactic of winning the moment by intimidation-a no brainer (the way they like it). The Democrats, Progressives, liberals, nasty liberals, anarchists…et al lean toward critical thinking and compassion (at best) or complicated intellectual diatribes, plans and procedures to win the day-the political urgency does not have time for that anymore, endless arguing and rant-o-ramas. We need to say, write and/or participate in informed, strategic, detached passion (cease ‘reactive’, weak behavior) and counter every LIE these bastards (cause that’s what they are) spew with THE PLAIN TRUTH in PLAIN TERMS then move offensively and take on the next bastard.

  147. Skeptic says:

I used to meet people who thought that if there were two opinions on a subject, the “truth” must lie at the average of the two ideas.
So if one person had an idea that the world was flat,
and if another thought the world was a circle.
Then the world was actually a flat pillow shape, that being the natural combination of the two ideas.
bad analogy but you see what I mean. You get this when people say “But there must be some truth in both sides”, when actually one side is mainly truthful and the other side mainly false.

  148. For Truth says:

The only reason why Seixon comes here is that his own stupid website has no traffic.

  149. For Truth says:

    Aseixen,

What’s your story? You live in Norway, have this Norway blog. But shill for the Right, even though you say you are not a Republican. And your focused on American politics, what about Norwegian politics? Wouldn’t that be pertinent since you live there? And of course you like global warming, YOU LIVE IN NORWAY, duh. Oh yeah you talk too much also.

  150. Skeptic says:

I always believed that the truth would overcome a lie, and the truth should be used to batter liars all the time. However I don’t want to be like Karl Rove. He wants victory at all costs, and I won’t sacrifice the truth for that. I won’t sacrifice law, justice, democracy or civil rights either.
Karl Rove is the architect of the Right/Left divide found currently. It used to be that the Democrats and Republicans did despise and detest each other as they do know. Some Republicans were too conservative and hidebound, and some liberals too progressive, and some of both were corrupt. But the current state where all there is is name calling and threats is actually fairly new. It used to be that there was only Rush Limbaugh, now a myriad of wannabe Rushes have popped up.

  151. Skeptic says:

OOPS I meant Democrats and Republicans did NOT despise each other the way they do now.

  152. marblex says:

the purpose of the “war on terror

is to foment islamic hatred and spur the war on endlessly. That justifies draining the budget and depriving taxpayers of any meaningful public services, while filling the coffers of haliburton ge and other banks and defence contractors and rich white people.

the whole point is to exaserbate the problem .

    War is good business.

Not for people of course, but these creatures of evil aren’t human anyway

  153. nikkiana says:

Last I checked, both the right and left sides of the political blogosphere are vicious… but then again, if you agree with one side or the other, they’re apparently not vicious. Snerk.

  154. TSop says:

Classic projection from the Master. He knows all about hate and anger. Divide and conquer….he is the author of the book on demonizing gays, immigrants, liberals, and anyone else who is not a white ‘christian’…

  155. For Truth says:

And Rove is still eating Fois Gras and laughing loudly, he should calm down.

  156. Ron says:

he’s still bawling like a baby because a ten year old girl beat him to a pulp way back in the 1960’s.

he’ll never grow up; nor will any so-called Republican.

One look at them and you can see why.

  157. Doug Book says:

Rove isn’t attacking the blogosphere. He’s simply giving an accurate description of the radical, leftist, moonbat sites. They do exemplify hate and anger, they are far out of the mainstream and they do attack anyone not sufficiently on the radical left. Sometimes facts hurt. Usually the left.

  158. John says:

    Right on marblex! #182

  159. Vance says:

I will be honest here unlike most. I do hope and wish karl rove to die, I also wish the same of most in this administration including the president. On this topic karl has me pegged.
Thank god its not a crime 2 wish………have I spoken to soon?

  160. Lily says:

By the way Seixon, when we’ve referred to Bush and his administration as nazis, it’s not done out of hatred. We have some knowledge of history, and have seen far too many parallels between the rise of Nazi Germany and what this administration is doing.

  161. Lily says:

Hey Unbelievable, Seixon actually did post a link I asked for once. So give him some credit. The only problem was that his link didn’t back up what he said. But a least he tried!

  162. Jay Randal says:

Seixon is an enigma, because his website could be located anywhere > does not prove he is in Norway regardless! If he is a student, then why does he not say so on here, or is he embarrassed because his parents are paying his way in Norway?

  163. ActiveCitizen 2006 says:

I’m not defending Karl Rove, but one thing we must understand about him is that he is a man who made up his mind as to which party he was going to be involved in by the time he was 13 years old. He is always going to be a bastard because he has been one ever since highschool. Read Bush’s Brain or better yet watch the documentary on Karl Rove. Rove should have waited until he was about 10 years older before he decided which party he would allign himself with.

Forgive him Lord Jesus, for Karl Rove is a devious manipulative bastard and he know not……..What am I saying!?! Of course Karl Rove knows what he is doing! He is a lying bastard!

  164. ActiveCitizen 2006 says:

  165. William says:

It’s called good old fashioned competition. Rove’s comments just go to show you that when the one guy is in power or controls the market, he does whatever he can to supress competition. Rove is afraid of a little old fashioned substantive debate. In short, he can dish it out, but he can’t take it, which is typical for most bullies.

  166. Skeptic says:

    Denny;
Shut up. #200 is a stupid, vicious, unneccesary ad hominem attack and has nothing to do with the subject at hand.

    Comment by Seixon — June 16, 2006 @ 2:58 pm”

Well, I call Rove a traitor and I call you a facist nazi. Karl Rove has betrayed this nation by outing a CIA agent. He may be facing a civil suit from Valerie Plame in which a jury will determine the damages not a special prosecutor. And by the way, if Rick Santorum can sue for damages so can Valerie Plame.

  168. the war took everything I had says:

OOPS I meant Democrats and Republicans did NOT despise each other the way they do now.

Skeptic – I remember those days too. I remember protesting the Vietnam war, I remember Nixon and Hoover spying on everyone. I use to think that Hoover had something on every politician and that Hoover was the person running this nation…. for decades. Now with traitor Rove and facist Cheney in control, I almost long for Hoover’s power over the facist that now rule this nation. At least Hoover, as crazy as he was, did his spying because he thought he was protecting this nation. Traitor Rove and facist Cheney do their spying and lying for their own financial benefits and don’t give a rats ass about this nation.

  169. pluege says:

  170. Jay Randal says:

Karl Rove is a deranged power crazed lunatic! He has ZERO morality, and since Fitzgerald is too afraid to indict him, Karl is now the most dangerous man in America after Bush himself! Bush and Rove remind me of Hitler and Himmler!

  171. Sharon Cox says:

Good Morning America, how are ya?..Good posts all, well, almost all. Rove is nothing more than another bloated, no neck, evil white man serving his personal master, greed. He is not all that smart, just smart enough to rile up the radical right by using fear and hate. Every time this bunch starts to fall behind in support they stir up their photo ops and start fling mud. Much like very young boys flinging buggers or having pissing contests. It is very apparent to me his parents did a poor job in raising him and his family now is responsible for being enabelers in allowing his evil to persist. If I had been his parent I would of paddled his fat ass and taught him better….LOL ..Low self esteam, lack of responsability and owning up to bad behavior would of been a good start. Since he and bush both have most of the same charistics we can see what bad parenting can do……Throw tiny winkies, anti social tendancies and closeted gay problems into the mix and here we have the nightmare these nut jobs are bestowing on to us and the world..Murder by a created war and mahem……..Craven carl is scared and that is why he is flinging mud at the left, plane and simple. Sadly the radical right listen..Many of the suck up soundbiters to lazy to listen to more than their right winged 30 minute news garbage go along with it. Just lazy I think…….Time to kill some slugs in my garden and hug a tree………..Blessings

  172. tgs328 says:

    Spudge boy, I love you…
Seixon, you are pathetic. The right holds the paton on hate mongoring! Thats what they do, divide, divide divide. Yeah the left is angry about the crap bush and his henchmen have done to our country. But the right is directly responsible for it. If the right can’t take it, and they can’t, tough shit. Oh and by the way since you seem to have so much time on your hands, what with blogging all day, perhaps you could better spend some of that time in therapy or maybe get a real job.

  173. tgs328 says:

And Seixon, as far as your statement about the left being angry because no one agrees with them, well where the hell have you been? Seems thats exactly why karl said what he did, because fewer and fewer folks are agreeing with the right, and they know it. Why don’t you? I guess your research skills could use a little brushing up, maybe that would be another way for you to spend some of your time.

  174. Seixon says:

    tgs328,

You’re right. Few agree with the Right and the Left. Most of us are in the middle. That doesn’t make Rove’s statement about blogs on the Left any less accurate. However, there are more conservatives in the USA than there are liberals. That, my friend, is a fact. There are more issues where the American people agree with the Right than the Left. Take gay marriage and capital punishment, for instance. The Left is the minority in the USA, which is why they are so angry.

  175. Jay Randal says:

LOL Seixon > you have not answered the question: if you are an American student in Norway? I am still perplexed WHY you care so much about events in the United States, if you are busy in Norway going to college? Your parents must be Republican conservatives!

  176. Seixon says:

    Jay,

First of all, I am not accountable to you and what I am doing in Norway is my own business and none of yours. Second, if you were living abroad would you suddenly cease to care about what’s going on in the US? No, you wouldn’t, so why should it be any different for me? I guess I might end by saying that you are about 75% wrong about my parents. Assumptions are a bitch and you are the king where that’s concerned.

  177. Jay Randal says:

Seixon if your parents are not GOP conservatives, then they have raised you wrong because you turned into one > lol. You are very touchy about your life in Norway and it’s weird to refuse to answer a simply question: Are you a student in Norway? Nobody much cares what college you might be attending, nor does anyone care if you live in Oslo or not! Only reason not to answer whether you are a student or not must be embarrassment?!

  178. Seixon says:

    Jay,

What is your evidence that I am a GOP conservative, other than your biased and partisan view of politics? Is keeping Think Progress honest the same thing as being a conservative? That would certainly be telling. I have never voted for a Republican, and I do not hold typical GOP values, either. The mere fact that I am an atheist, of only 10% of Americans who describe themselves as such, tells you that you are 100% wrong in your crass assumptions.

I’m touchy about my life in Norway? No I’m not, I just refuse to detail my personal life to someone who obviously is going to use whatever I reveal in some sort of smear. If I started demanding stuff about personal life, how would you feel?

I think you already know the answer to what you’ve asked me as any half-competent person would be able to figure out using the secret tool they call Google.

Yet again you shameless partisan hacks turn a thread into an issue about me as a person. You talk a big game about privacy and wiretaps and surveillance and NSA phone logs but when it comes down to it, you do the same damn thing to whom you perceive as your political enemies. No doubt you and Judd have dug up everything there is to find out about me on the internet so you can use it in the future if need be.

You are shameless Jay Randal, you cannot debate an issue on its merits but make it all about me, ad hominem to the end. I cannot for the life of me understand how you can see this as valid debate or especially moral.

I guess I could just end by asking: why do you want to know what I am doing in Norway? What relevance does that have to anything? Why are you so keenly interested in personal details about me? Are you obsessed with me?

    Get a grip.

  179. Sharon Cox says:

Hay, Jay, .Maybe that poster is hiding out in a foreign country because of some crime he did here in the states and avoiding prosacution….There was a case like that here in our state..The bum was hiding out in Iraland..They just got him back here to stand trial…LOL..Who cares about these right winged nut jobs any way.? Not me, only would like to see the ones like in our administration brought to justice for war crimes and treason against our country…..Just my opinion and like asses they don’t amount to much…Blessings

  180. Jay Randal says:

Seixon you need to get a grip on reality! Nobody in here would care anything about you, if you did not act like an ass all the time defending slime like Karl Rove! When you defend Bush Regime criminals, then you open yourself up to attack by everyone on TP! You are the one who divulged that you live in Norway, but now you are being weird about it! If you do in fact live there, or going to college, then be glad because Bush is going to be forced to draft young men and women in America to perish as cannon fodder, when he attacks Iran and sets off WWIII! Enjoy the life of leisure in Norway and stop posting on TP since you get so uptight about everything! One poster on here said you have a sexual attraction to Bush, so do not assume I have any personal interest in you > lol. Chill out and live longer bud!

  181. Jay Randal says:

Post 215 Sharon > that could be a possibility, but then Seixon would be taking a risk by posting on Internet blogs! He is just on here to gum up the post threads with baloney!

  182. Seixon says:

    Jay,

Oh, so now you suddenly don’t care about why I’m in Norway. Har, har, har. I’m not “defending” anyone on here, I simply agreed with Rove making a completely correct statement, which many others on this thread have also admitted is correct. You candidly express that since I do this, I am open to “attack” by people like you. Why? Can’t you guys hold a reasonable debate without attacking people you disagree with?

I divulged that I live i Norway? Yes, it says so on my blog. Whoop-dee-doo. Now I’m being “weird about it” since I won’t tell you all about why I’m here? So suddenly privacy isn’t an issue for you, since you seem to (a) think you have a right to know about my personal details and (b) simultaneously claim you don’t care. Delusional, that’s what we call this sort of behavior.

If Bush instates a draft, I will be every bit as eligible as you, so why would living here save me from that?

Enjoy the life of leisure in Norway and stop posting on TP since you get so uptight about everything!

I’m uptight because I won’t detail to you, a complete stranger who hardly has my best interests at heart, about why I am living somewhere? Wow, OK. You see, if I was a liar, I could have just said I was doing this or that, but I won’t because I am honest. I also am not accountable to you, and don’t feel comfortable telling you about my personal life.

Yes, obviously you’d rather that I leave TP so that you can strut around acting like you know something, instead of being on the defensive now with me going after the TP dogma and you finding yourself attacking me as a person instead of debating like an adult.

Oh, and now we have moved up to alleging that I am a criminal that fled the US. Whatever keeps you guys from admitting that what Rove said was right! Hell, I’ll be honest with you guys: I’m an alien from the planet Rovion, the same planet Rove is from. Our alien race has infiltrated the Bush administration and seeks to destroy Earth so that we can take it over for our race.

Yup. It’s true. Well, every bit as true as the BS you guys keep writing about me. Have a nice weekend!

  183. Jay Randal says:

Lol Seixon nobody works for Bush’s NSA on here! Nobody wants your name, address, phone number, date of birth, credit history, employment records or anything else! Stop acting paranoid on here, and you are delusional if you think you can debate only the subject that you choose on TP threads!

I have worked twice overseas: Costa Rica in the Peace Corps and Haiti working at an orphanage and farm! My youngest sister and her husband were in the Foreign Service under President Clinton! They spent 2 years in France, 2 years in China, and 2 years in South Africa, as well as living on their own outside of government service in Japan for 2 years!

I believed you were male, but you act more like a female who is afraid somebody might rape them if they found out about their location?! If you cannot take the heat in here, then stay out of the TP kitchen! Say nothing to me on here and I will say nothing to you!

  184. unbelievable says:

    Seixon,

    unbelievable,

    I posted all the links here: http://thinkprogress.org/ 2006/ 06/ 11/ where-theres-a-will/ #comments

Where? So post them here. That thread was TWO MONTHS after I asked for them. You’re not only a liar, but you are delusional to think we can’t see what a liar you are.

Nice try with the bait and switch though.

No Seixon, was not anything but the truth, which you seem to have no concept of on any level. You’re the one baiting and switching. Because you got caught in your lie.

Another lie. I was making fun of the fact that scientists in the 1970s were talking about “global cooling” and now they are talking about “global warming” when we all know that these are just part of a normal pattern of a climate in fluctuation. I love how you amped up the lies once I left, classy.

I knew you’d be back. Plus, I wasn’t lying. The proff that I wasn’t are all teh FACTS I posted. It’s obvious to everyone but you that you’ve been busted. I’ve proven you to be ignorant and a habitual liar and instead of just working on yourself, you demonize people who’ve shown you for the liar you are.

So now you have a problem with when I go out to drink with my friends?

    Nope – just your lies.

Wow you are a dupe. There is no “website stock” for my blog. LOL. There is no “80%”. WTF are you guys going on about? Jesus you guys are off the walls, now you’re just making stuff up about me while I’m not here to defend myself.

Further proof that you have NO sense of humor. None. Not a shred. This was a joke and you believed it was serious? At least grow a sense of humor Seixon. A crabby liar is just so much more obnoxious…

I wasn’t banned by Kos. I was silenced.

Oh how funny. You are so insecure that you can’t even handle the reality that you were banned and have to argue about semantics to make you look infallable. Get over it. You were banned.

Face it, the truth, that I was silenced because I was saying things that people did not agree with, so they rated my comments down and this causes you to get shut down.

Face it, you wouldn’t know truth if it bit you.

And you’ve managed to avoid every single fact and scientific issue in my posts. This is what you do – ramble on and on about nothing, making ad hominem attacks and hurling insults to try to hide the fact that you cannot have an authentic debate on any real issues.

I dare you Seixon – post something without saying a word aboutthe person you’re debating. I bet you can’t – since you haven’t so far.

  185. Sybil says:

    #219 & 220:

I hate to tell you homo’s and lezbo’s,but I agree with Seixon.

  186. Sharon Cox says:

Incoming,,,,,Unbelievable and all left of center. Me thinks it is time to get back to “don’t feed the troll’s”…Their immaturity, name calling and lack of substance in posting is a total waste of time and space….I’ve only been back a couple of day’s and sick of their crap and derailing……Nothing good to say, say nothing….

  187. Amazed says:

Bush and the Bush Republicans and Rove have taught everyone how to hate. When your party and Presidential candidate run on a platform of divisiveness, you reap what you sow.

The most hateful people I have ever encountered online, consistently, as the majority of Internet users can attest to, are right wing zealots and religious wingnuts.

  188. unbelievable says:

Just when you think things couldn’t possibly get any worse for ol’ Seixon who has been outted as a liar and a fraud – he gets the flaming endorsement of the resident human vomit stain. Ouch, Seixon. Only schitzophrenics in diapers agree with you. Not good.

  189. Urban Sombrero says:

Rove is right. Except our hate and anger are about the injustice, lawbreaking, and lies of this Administration. It’s good anger and hate. You know, the kind the colonists felt towards England and King George before the revolution.

On the other hand, Republican hate and anger is all about bigotry and mysoginy.

  190. Sybil says:

    ‘ I am a woman’

If you are a woman, unbelievable, then why hasn’t any man scooped you up in your 40 years.
Fat? Ugly? Bitchy? How could any man turn that down?
    ‘birth control’
    Don’t worry,you’ll never need it.

  191. Briseadh na Faire says:

I’ve come to this thread rather late, and did not bother to read all the comments above. However, in my opinion, Mr. Rove does have one valid point.

The Internet for the Left…has served as a way to mobilize hate and anger — hate and anger, first and foremost, at this President and Conservatives, but then also at people within their own party whom they consider to be less than completely loyal

I have seen far too many posters, ostensibly on the same side, revert to name-calling each other.

It is quite easy to dismiss an opponent who stoops to name-calling rather than debating the issues. Unfortunately, many posters on ThinkProgress have made it easy for Rove and others to paint the Left in a most unfavorable light.

Imagine if CNN, or FOX, took some of the more vulgar posts and quoted them, in context, and word-for-word.

There was an old saying, “think about the words you speak, you may have to eat them someday.” For some of us, that would taste most vile.

  192. unbelievable says:

If you are a woman, unbelievable, then why hasn’t any man scooped you up in your 40 years.

You should get back in your time machine and go home to the 1650s. I’ve been asked, more than twice, and I’ve said no. Marriage isn’t a current goal. I like my independence, and I have no plans to breed. It’s my choice.

Fat? Ugly? Bitchy? How could any man turn that down?

I can only assume you are now sharing your personal statistics with us, since those traits do not apply to me. Well, your personality had us clued in already to the fact that you are undesirable. Even if you were Helen of Trot your personality couldn’t get a man within a mile of you if he was bound and dragged.

    ‘birth control’
    Don’t worry,you’ll never need it.
    Comment by Sybil — June 17, 2006 @ 7:20 pm

With nasty diseased vermin like you running around screwing anything that moves, the black deathe you spread is a far bigger concern to the world at large than unwanted pregnancies. Now go shower. And use soap.

  193. Lily says:

Seixon, even if you had no knowledge of history, at least you’ve seen several posts here comparing the right to fascism. But just in case, here’s one.

The role of the Gestapo was to investigate and combat “all tendencies dangerous to the State.” It had the authority to investigate treason, espionage and sabotage cases, and cases of criminal attacks on the Nazi Party and on Germany.

The law had been changed in such a way that the Gestapo’s actions were not subject to judicial review. Nazi jurist Dr. Werner Best stated, “As long as the [Gestapo] … carries out the will of the leadership, it is acting legally.” The Gestapo was specifically exempted from responsibility to administrative courts, where citizens normally could sue the state to conform to laws.

The power of the Gestapo most open to misuse was “Schutzhaft” or “protective custody” — a euphemism for the power to imprison people without judicial proceedings, typically in concentration camps.

  194. My Take on it ... says:

You bet I’m angry! And so is the majority of this country. 68% disapprove of the job these republicans in power are doing. They have run this country into the ground.

  195. Lily says:

Hmm, actually a meteologist and an astrologer here in Norway do not support this hypothesis. Those are only two of many more that have dared actually speaking out in public about it.
    Comment by Seixon

Seixon, can you tell us which “meteorologist and astrologer(???) in Norway does not support this hypothesis?”
    Comment by Lily

Yes, I can. The “astrologer” I was talking about is actually a PhD in solar physics. His name is Pål Brekke, and has worked with NASA at the Goddard Space Flight Center.
    Comment by Seixon

(From your link): “Greenhouse gases are responsible for less than half the rise in global temperatures over the past century, a scientist with the European Space Agency says. Physicist Paal Brekke says natural processes involving changes in the Sun could have at least as powerful an effect on global temperature as increased emissions of carbon dioxide (CO2).”

It doesn’t sound to me like he’s denying that global warming exists, only that other causes are contributing to it. So if half is attributed to human activity, that would mean humans have doubled the natural rate of temperature rise. hmmm….still doesn’t sound good.

  198. Jay Randal says:

Unbelievable >Guy from Norway ( taken from TV show: Man from Uncle) refuses to tell us if he is a student in Norway, because he says that is personal information, but then tells everyone about going out late to bars/clubs to get sloshed > lol. Anyone else would answer the student question and not brag about being a drunkard > which should be kept private!

  199. Madame Defarge says:

    Seixon,
I have never called anyone names in all the time I’ve posted here. I’m not going to start now, but I have to say that you are extremely ignorant. Your posts are getting ridiculous. My last 2 statements in posts 231 and 233 are obvious to any rational person. You’re grasping at straws.

  200. Lily says:

By the way, Madame Defarge would be me. It’s early. Made a weird post late last night.

  201. Sybil says:

    Lily=Madame Defarge
    ….just like,
    AScholar=unbelievable

Will remember these for future reference.
    Lily,maybe it’s not a weird post you made,maybe you’re just weird.

  202. JIMBO says:

Sexion- Why waste all your time making pointless and boring arguments that puts anyone to sleep after the first paragraph? Go read a book, something you repukilcans hate to do. And Mann Coulter doesn’t count.

Nope. I was not online when AScholar posted. Plus he doesn’t write like I do. Not the same style at all. And since I only have one personality, AScholar was not it.

You want it to be truth so much that you are completely overlooking the facts. As usual. You neocons are ruled by emotion instead of logic. And propaganda – so here’s your dose”

    I am only ‘unbelievable’
    I am only ‘unbelievable’
    I am only ‘unbelievable’
    I am only ‘unbelievable’
    I am only ‘unbelievable’

Now repeat it until you STFU.

  206. unbelievable says:

    Jay,

Seixon just likes reading himself in print… Jimbo nailed it. Seixon has nothing because he is nothing. Just liek the rest of the trolls.

  207. Sybil says:

Like I said in that Think Fast thread,AScholar doesn’t sound like you because who ever wrote that[it was you]plagiarized.Sorry Hon,you’re busted.
Your post and that post were only one [1] hour apart.
Come clean –Lily did,you can too.

  208. Sybil says:

    Oh,and UB.

I wasn’t implying that you were Lily–just implying that you ARE a name changer.

I didn’t write # 240&241–next time you see Lily or the Madame post-just ask her.
    Nice try,Changling.

  209. Destardi says:

He’s being a smart ass; knowing full well he’s describing exactly the right-wing to a T.

  210. unbelievable says:

  211. Sybil says:

The truth is out there, you just wont admit it and blow your sanctimonious facade.

  212. unbelievable says:

The truth is that I am only unbelievable.

And that you want everyone to live on your terms or be considered invalid. You must be really stressed out worrying about things you cannot control – other people.

Start with yourself. It’s obvious your need to control me comes from teh lack of contiol you feel in your own life.

Rent the movie “The World’s Fastest Inidan”, and consider it as inspiration as to what a human can do if he or she gets his ass off the sofa and leaves his living room on occasion to follow a dream. I’ve done it. Am taking a break now, but will do it again. You should try it. Then you won’t be so worried about anyone else…

  213. Sybil says:

    #254

You’ve been busted for lying on multiple occasions.
And we are to believe you now?

  214. unbelievable says:

You’ve only made claims that I’ve lied. You haven’t actually proven any of them. Wanna know why? Because I haven’t lied.

Not everyone is afraid of everything. Not everyone is held back in life by ‘what if I fail?’ And not everyone believes this life is a test run for something that follows.

  215. Sybil says:

    # 256:

    Whatever.

  216. Steve says:

Can you freakin believe the BS the pinheads at FrontPageMag are peddling about us AGREEING WITH KARL ROVE!!!

In typical leftist fashion, within hours the left-wing blogs proved Rove’s point for him. Personal attacks started flying on the popular blogs. ThinkProgress.org, Shakespeare’s Sister, The Democratic Daily.com and Raw Story.com. all felt obliged to prove the point themselves.

    Read it and puke!!!

These jackasses have no freakin’ shame!!!

  217. America says:

Oh lord, you are going to piss off some “I am a victim” liberals with this kinda stuff. You better be careful with what you say. The liberals out there are going to call you a racist, sexist, homophobe, bigot, hatefilled SOB if you do not agree with their “open-minded” approach. Like most “open-minded” liberals you have to agree with them before you will be accepted or respected.

  218. health and company says:

This is such a wonderful and informative way to reach others. I Will be more than glad to share this site
