All aboard the ‘Straight Talk Express.’

A two-year report by Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) into the Abramoff-linked Indian gaming scandals to be released today is “expected to steer clear of any money trails that lead from the now-convicted Abramoff to some of McCain’s colleagues in Congress.”

UPDATE: McCain’s report has been released (pdf). The report does not list a single lawmaker in its “Table of Names.”

But of course they will avoid the money trails. The GOP, who McCain is now firmly entrenched as a standard bearer, are built on dirty money. Find the money and you find their heart.

Time someone drove a stake of truth into these blood suckers. Damn, I am starting to sound like Setphen Colbert!

Even Cheney won’t bite on this. Now why are we in Iraq? WMD?

  4. Retired Republican Soldier says:

John McCain is fooling himself if he thinks he has any pularilty of Conervative support. Yes he is wildly popular with you LLL m0onb@+5 but not with his own party. He is DOA on the campaign trail.

RRS – good enough, now we don’t need to worry about his sorry ass when beating the pants off you repugnuts in 2008!!!

  6. Jules says:

Oh – and RSS – I would rather be a moonbat any day then a cold hearted neo con with my head perpetually shoved up my ass like repugnuts!!!

  7. Democrat Soldier says:

#4 – And you false assertion is based on what? Tea leaves? Magic 8 ball? Fortune cookie? Or are you repeating talking points from the unhinged right-wing bloviators?

I hate to shake you out of your fantasy world, but most progressives think Sen. McCain sold his soul after urinating on himself after then-Gov. bush smacked him around during the 2000 Republican Primary. Rather than stand up for himself, he “cut & run” when then-Gov. Bush questioned his mental state after having been a POW.

If Sen. McCain had a brain, he should have told then-Gov. Bush “I’ll open up my military records when you open up yours.” Pres. Bush had not had his cleansed at that point, and Sen. McCain turned out to be just another loser Republican that would rather sell his ethics for party loyalty than fight for his honor.

Democrat Soldier – retired repub soldier is just repeating what he’s read over at redstain, lilgfreenfootballs or wherever. It doesn’t have to be true to repeat it as truth. Swiftboat ‘em all is their motto.

McCain simpy can’t dance fast enough long enouigh to keep from getting shot in the foot by someone, even (or especially) himself.

The world can change a lot in the 30 months before the ‘08 election, but one thing I have noticed over the years is that a politician’s reputation and effectiveness tends to be degraded rather than enhanced by so much exposure. How many active politicians enjoy today the enthusiastic support they had 4- 6 years ago, if they were around at all? On either side of the aisle?

The more one needs to justify one’s decisions and actions, the less understandable those decisions and actions become. Not a good thing, when trying to campaign in 30 second sounds bites.

Yeah, my “pissed off” is overflowing today!! I cannot understand how this administration can even garner the level of approval it currently has. I have yet to have a neo con explain to me what this administration has accomplished besides making the richer richer and the poor poorer!

They probably consider it “Mission Accomplished.”

The comment by almostboiledfrog in #10 is an understatement. Well said.

But I can think of one: Kinky Friedman, the independent running for governor in Texas. He gets better every day. I love that guy!

I wish the democrats could get him to run for presnut in 0h 8. Like he says: “Why not Kinky? After all, how hard can it be?”

I like the one that reads “My Governor is Kinky”

Or how about “Kinky, Why the Hell Not”

  15. Jay Randal says:

Follow the real money trail of Abramoff to McCain himself > that is what is really being hidden now!

Yeah, Jules, he’s great. I like a guy who is elementary and without all the fluff and feathers. I like his answer for fixing the border: Simple. Put a Mexican general on the the government payroll.

He has written a book titled, ‘Scuse Me While I Whip This Out which I want to read. He’s quite a guy. I’d vote for him just for the laughs. After all, how bad could he be?

My husband and I are voting for him.

  18. purvis ames says:

Okay, McCain is a “war hero”, a “straight talker” and a “maverick”. First, McCain is a war criminal, not a hero. His enthusiastic participation in the terror bombing of North Viet Nam speaks for itself. Second, every word out of the man’s mouth is a lie including “straight” and “talker”. The last accolade refers to a neutered bull. Nuff said?

“RRS – good enough, now we don’t need to worry about his sorry ass when beating the pants off you repugnuts in 2008!!! ” Oh please I only hope that the Democrats put up Hillary or Gore or Kerry or maybe a combination of the three? hell I wouls even open up my wallet and send money to a Gore/Kerry or Clinton/Kerry campaign, just to see them fail BADLY. But whats all this talk about winning elections? Don’t you know that we Neo-Conservative-Nazis have the fix in with Diebold?

Is that why you served your country in the military? So elections could be stolen? You must be so proud.

  21. Quadrajet says:

Retired Repugnican Wackjob, did you get your impression that McCain is ‘wildly popular’ among liberals in the same alternative universe where WMD was found in Iraq? If repugnicans don’t like McCain, its probably because he started the investigation that led to your party being exposed – once again – as the gang of thieving thugs and self preservationists that they’ve always been. Shame on him, right?
