The world can change a lot in the 30 months before the '08 election, but one thing I have noticed over the years is that a politician's reputation and effectiveness tends to be degraded rather than enhanced by so much exposure. How many active politicians enjoy today the enthusiastic support they had 4- 6 years ago, if they were around at all? On either side of the aisle? The more one needs to justify one's decisions and actions, the less understandable those decisions and actions become. Not a good thing, when trying to campaign in 30 second sounds bites.
