The poster who calls himself "Terror Sympathizing Left" may be a bit more clever than he's being given credit for. He's paraphrasing Hitler who called the Treaty of Versailles "just a piece" of paper and stopped paying the agreed upon war penalty. Is "Terror Sympathizing Left" a troll or a Facist?

The cartoon that accompanies the article says it all. Cheney,Bush and Addington have undertaken to shred the constitution. I didnt think i could despise these worms more than i already did but after reading the article it has been ratcheted up a ton. Monumentally scary what they are doing. What next ?? a coup? inalienable rights suspended? Chilling and maddening.

I would urge everyone to read jane mayer's article --go out and buy it, borrow it or read it at the library. This is the most chilling article I have read to date about this gang of thieves in the Administration. David Addington is beyond contempt! Sadly, if our congress was doing any oversight this may not have happened. Question Authority!!

Don't feed the OBVIOUS TROLL, kiddoes.

Colin Powell was hooked on Ambien, and pressured by experts, when he betrayed himself and his country, for the Military Industrial Conspiracy.

Still, he remains one of the potential Big Keys to removing the rightwing fascist coup that seized the country through massive nationwide vote-fraud.

As for the 'revolution' starting this November, no, the revolution, in that terminology, is going on RIGHT NOW, in locales all around the country, where activists are challenging the vote-fraud, preparing lawsuits, figuring out which election officials are complicit in the conspiracy, and helping to educate the public on the way in which their democracy has been crated up and shipped to the Land of Diebold.

Join the real revolution, NOW. Because if anything can be done to shortcircuit the Rapepublican vote-fraud machinery, that anything IS the solution to what ails us.

Don't feed the goddamned trolls. The Constitution has the love and affection of eighty percent of the U.S. population, and is the repository of hope for hundreds of millions of people. The few GFH Bush loyalists would kill their grandmothers for a kiss on their bald heads by their uber-con artist. Or sell their children for heroin. Whichever comes first.

Which is more important to you and your loved ones?

Banning Gay Marriage and Passing Anti-Abortion Laws or
Decent Healthcare and Future Social Security Benefits?

You know what party to vote for this November.

How important is your vote? Just remember, if republicans gain control of the house and senate in 2006, this bunch of republican nuts will succeed this time in banishing Social Security. Inotherwords, you can kiss your Social Security goodbye.

Good night and Good Luck.

That "scrap of paper" is the ultimate legal barrier standing between this administration and the overwhelmingly negative mood of this country at this moment.

If we were a parlimentiary system, Bush & Co. would be so finished.

Well, we don't. We have a constitution ordained and established by "we the people" that is the sole legal authority for the presidency itself, and if there is any doubt as to the truth of Mr. Bush's claims of unchecked executive authority, the constitution establishes the congress first (in article I) and the Presidency second (in article II).

Even my home state of Arkansas gets it right in its state motto: "Regnat Populus," The People Rule...not the President. The constitution is there for US, not him.

Colin Powell sold his soul to the devil when he worked for the Bush Regime! Nothing he does or says now can save his destroyed political career, nor will anyone ever vote for him!
He could have been the first Black president in American history, but instead he lied for W!

man must be enslaved before he can be freed -marx

Delays' mariana island project was a perfect example of exploitative capitalism and how republicans feel about mankind.
They don't. I mean, you are but a battery to be drained of your energy and to be discarded.
“Only liberals care about the mere scrap of paper called the Constitution.”

Only amoral exploitative apologists for Bush and his inhuman ilk don't care about using the constituion as personal toilet-paper, and like those they sent to war they could care less as well. Just soldiers they Bush folks say, like that damn paper constitution, who cares if they die asks the Bush Folks?
Not us they smirk-- we are safe and sound.

You know, he's right. By today's standards, every single Founder of our country would seem like a raving liberal.

namely, that the President, as Commander-in-Chief, has the authority to disregard virtually all previously known legal boundaries,

Carl Schmitt comes to mind..
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carl_Schmitt

I've posted it before and probably will again; Colin Powell is a coward. And HE only cares about the Constitution in an ex post facto sort of way.

Only liberals care about the mere scrap of paper called the Constitution. The rest of us know that we have to protect America from our enemies. And the left is our enemy.

That "scrap of paper" as you so lovingly refer to our truly beloved Constitution, the one Bush and his gang of goons want to destroy, protects your freedom to post your hate speach herein.

It also protects our right to call you an asshole.

Collin Powell needs to come out in public and tell what he knows. Or, he needs to STFU and go down in history as the stooge that allowed this to happen.
