  1. SKdeA Says:

    Frist!
I’d be excited if they’d all leave the planet.

  2. Parrotlover77 Says:

It’s rather disturbing at how gleeful they get at human suffering. I’m sure their “lord and savior” will pat them on the head for that. It is truly amazing how people can twist religions to fit one’s own demented fantasies…

  3. AvengingAngel Says:

While the mullahs in Tehran look to the return of the Twelfth Imam to deliver them from evil, President Bush’s allies await the Second Coming of Christ to usher in a millennium of peace. With their research institutes and breeding programs, the devout on both sides seek to accelerate the End of Times. And as their positions over the Iranian nuclear program harden, Presidents Bush and Ahmadinejad have more in common than they know.

    For the details, see:
“Iran, Bush and the Second Coming.”

  4. rivitor Says:

    Those extremists are disgusting

  5. onthefence Says:

Did you guys actually read any of those posts on that thread? Well I made the mistake of doing so, I’m going to have nightmares now, these people need help.

  6. e_five Says:

Yeah. All that proves to me is that religion is the greatest force for true evil ever contrived by man.

  7. P_M Says:

Those people are so very ugly.

  8. Bruce Gorton Says:

Rapturists are really just a big suicide cult, the only problem is that their suicide has to take the rest of us too. Bloody funny though if it turns out the Norsemen had the right of it.

  9. rzklkng Says:

The site appears to be getting pwned. So, enjoy what’s printed above.

  10. Gerald Gibson Says:

These are the crazies I grew up with. It is really sad that these people really believe this stuff. They talk about Jesus but get excited and happy and cheering about death, war, strife. Sounds more like satanic cultists to me.

  11. OxyCon Says:

Bear in mind, these are the people who voted for pResident Bush, and this is the exact reason why they did so.

  12. yankeluh Says:

These posts show why more people have died over religion than for any other reason. Glad I am allergic to it.

  13. madashell Says:

hey people - I guess that’s our problem. We didn’t read the left behind series to tell us what to expect.

  14. onthefence Says:

I especially like the one about the guy whose mom is “lost” still even after reading the Left Behind books. Those people need some Old Testament stoning.

  15. unbelievable Says:

    Excited?

I truly, truly detest organized religion. With a passion. It does far little good, and a whole lot of destruction, hate and violence in its name. Why don’t these people just go move to the Middle East and leave this part of the world to those of us who know how much better off we’d be without them.

  16. TripMaster Monkey Says:

I believe firmly that not only is the myth of the Rapture patently false, it is actively injurious to the Christian faith. Belief in the Rapture induces a fatalistic view of events, and a mindset that emphasizes ‘keeping onself pure’ over helping others. “After all, there’s really no reason to try to change the world for the better, right? It’s not like we can do anything to avert Armegeddon, and it’s not like we’re going to be around anyway. We’re the Chosen Ones! We’re getting a free pass out of here, before things get really bad!”

God, they sicken me. Whenever I see one of those smug-ass bumper stickers that say ‘In case of Rapture, this car will be unmanned’, I just wanna ram them and then shout “Oops! Not ‘raptured’ yet, I see!”.

  17. onthefence Says:

This Rapture stuff is big business too, millions upon millions of dollars are being made.

I agree they should leave and set up their death cult somewhere else, you know Jim Jones style, I’ll bring the Kool-aid.

  18. unbelievable Says:

People will believe anything if you catch them early enough.
    — Jon Stewart

Apparently so - here is proof:

—I can’t help the way I feel. For the first time in my Christian walk, I have no doubts that the day of the Lords appearing is upon us. I have never felt this way before, I have a joy that bubbles up every-time I think of him, for I know this is truly the time I have waited for so long.

—How can we not be excited, our redeemer cometh. We should pray always for the lost. But he is coming. Amen Amen ever so come lord Jesus.
    your brother in Christ,
    Paul

—I am excited beyond words that the struggle of this life may be over soon and I can finally be FREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!

—My mom, though she believes in the existance of God and Jesus, is not saved. She seems to be waiting for the rapture to give herself over. I have a friend who is wiccan and has no desire to give it up. I worry for these and so many other people. My mom has read the Left Behind series, so she has an idea of what is to come. But I think my friend is clueless.

—One good thing, if He takes us during the middle of the night, I doubt there will be morning breath in Heaven.

  19. JustJohn Says:

How sad. But, I think we just identified some of the lower 30% of Americans that still approve of Mr. Bush, glad to see them stand up and be counted. How very very sad.

  20. onthefence Says:

#19 Actually the last poll I saw resulted in 40%+ of Americans believe that this is going to come about within our lifetimes. I scoffed at the number until i really thouht about it.

Which brings me back to my belief that there needs to be an IQ test administered to parents prior to concieving a child.

  21. Lupeyg2 Says:

Holy shit…there really are those kinda people out there. And, they let them vote and have kids (sarcasm…kinda).

  22. Badmoodman Says:

And these whackjobs think they’re different in some way from the Islamists who believe 72 virgins await them in death. Or is it 73? 74? 75…

  23. Jesus Christ God of WAR Says:

Gads! I knew it would cum to this!!! I can her all those evangelical Bush Cabal supporters orgasming.

    It’s sick. Really sick.

  24. DenverDem Says:

    #18

“I have a joy that bubbles up everytime I think of him”

Defintion: I spank my monkey to the bible.

No wonder these freaks are more often than not the child abusers, molestorts, internet predators.. shame on anyone beleiving in this bullshit.

  25. TripMaster Monkey Says:

    #20:

Actually the last poll I saw resulted in 40%+ of Americans believe that this is going to come about within our lifetimes.

The church I belong to is in that 40%, including my wife.

We’ve reached a tacit agreement not to discuss it, because discussions about it always end with her in tears and me frustrated beyond belief.

The Rapture is nothing but an escapist fantasy, period.

  26. Jesus Christ God of WAR Says:

I should have said “I can hear all those evangelical WackJob BushCabal supporters orgasming.”

Someone, please, remind me again how the ReichWingChristian ideology is any better than the Muslims they love to hate. Is wackiness somehow a Christian value?

Either way, this stuff is all too sick. No wonder America is all screwed up!

  27. Badmoodman Says:

OhHappyDay: “the Bridegroom cometh rather man is ready are not.” - - Well, that’s just creepy and wrong on so many levels.

  28. unbelievable Says:

#22, I used to work with a Jesus Freak who would make fun of the people in our office who were of other religions, such as Jehovah’s Witness, Muslim and Hindu, because, he said while rolling his eyes “Those are crazy things those people believe.”

  29. Badmoodman Says:

#1: “Frist! I’d be excited if they’d all leave the planet.” - - Boy, is that ever a Freudian typo for this thread.

  30. unbelievable Says:

Defintion: I spank my monkey to the bible.

Guess that explains the ‘excited’ part…. :)

  31. Clif Says:

Can we make another BIG boat…put the crazy christofascists on one deck..the islamofascists on another,,,and tell God to come and get them…while the rest of us try and clean up their mess.

  32. Mike Says:

The real test for the Rapture believers : give all of your assets up,NOW.

  33. Jesus Christ God of WAR Says:

#31 - Can we make another BIG boat…put the crazy christofascists on one deck..the islamofascists on another,,,and tell God to come and get them…while the rest of us try and clean up their mess.

Kinda makes me wonder. If God was as either party would claim, wouldn’t we see some verifiable objective evidence?

In the meantime, and to hedge my bets, I pray thusly: Dear God, protect me from your followers!

  34. Parrotlover77 Says:

#18, unbelievable: i’m surprised you could make it that far. I got sick to my stomach after just the top two. I don’t think it would bother me so much if the appointed president of the USA did not also share these views. That is terifying. If Jesus doesn’t come quick enough on his own, they want to do whatever they can to accelerate that! Which sucks for those of us that are of alternate religions, even including sane Christianity, and very worrisome for Agnostic/Atheists like myself. Lack of faith is worse than worshipping the devil to these people. I already have to lie about my faith (or lack thereof) occasionally in my life to avoid “complicated” issues that would arrise from confrontation with an evangelical that would otherwise “tell me the good news” (as if I haven’t heard of Jesus before). I can’t imagine what life will be like if these rapturism cults keep growing how hard it will be.

The comment with the person that says “I can finally be FREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!” is the most disturbing because that comment sounds very suicidal in ways. Life is so bad for this person that he/she is looking forward to the destruction of Earth so they can be released. That is so sad. This person needs therapy and/or medication. I know as I have a chronic depression/anxiety problem myself. Modern medicine can treat this terrible disease so well. Yet, it is not politically correct to confront one’s religious views (especially if they are “Christian”) even though they may feel better with medical treatment, instead of just praying for relief.

Ahhh but I am getting off on a tangent here. This stuff scares me more than anything because I believe nothing can lead to the downfall of humanity like blind faith to extremely twisted views. I Just want to grow old in a country that is not constantly in fear (or glee) of the world ending. Is that too much to ask? Wasn’t the cold war and mutually assured destruction enough for everybody???

  35. Jay Randal Says:

The big surprise for the far-right fascistic so-called Christians is that instead of being raptured to Heaven, most likely they will be damned to Hell for the evil and hatred they spew! Jesus himself would call them vile hypocrites!

  36. onthefence Says:

Ok here’s some more choice qutoes from the End Times forum:

We should have invaded Lebanon instead or including Iraq also. The terrorists orgs. should be wiped out to the last man without mercy.

But that would mean every Muslim on earth would have to be destroyed ….. did I read something in the old testament of God asking the Israelites to do a similar thing …

Ahhh, currently there are 603! people reading that forum, I hope most of them are coming from this site, or we are indeed in trouble.

  37. neandethal Says:

Does the lamb lay down with the lion before or after the rapture? After?
…..then the lion eats the lamb first so he can later lay down with him? What a concept. I’ll go back to praying to rocks, makes more sense.

  38. madashell Says:

in their twisted view - Jesus is a white man. Think about it. He would look like one of the detainees at Guantanamo. Would they believe him? I would say NOT.

  39. onthefence Says:

Ok I can’t read any more of it, but I think this quote explains pretty much everyone who posts there, this guy is talking about how awesome Glenn Beck is(sigh):

“I was at the Y walking on the treadmill and Glenn was on one TV and Fox News was on the other. Both sets had closed captioning on. I was getting dizzy trying to watch both TV’s! But what I saw of Glenn was spot on. I caught the last five minutes or so.”

  40. TripMaster Monkey Says:

    Reply to #32 (mike):

Right on the money, mike….That’s what Jesus taught, anyway:

    Matthew 19:16-23

16Now a man came up to Jesus and asked, “Teacher, what good thing must I do to get eternal life?”

17″Why do you ask me about what is good?” Jesus replied. “There is only One who is good. If you want to enter life, obey the commandments.”

    18″Which ones?” the man inquired.

Jesus replied, ” ‘Do not murder, do not commit adultery, do not steal, do not give false testimony, 19honor your father and mother,’ and ‘love your neighbor as yourself.’”

20″All these I have kept,” the young man said. “What do I still lack?”

21Jesus answered, “If you want to be perfect, go, sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.”

22When the young man heard this, he went away sad, because he had great wealth.

23Then Jesus said to his disciples, “I tell you the truth, it is hard for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven. 24Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.”

Most evangelists can talk the talk, but when it comes to walking the walk…

  41. Jay Randal Says:

No way that former CIA agent, Mobutu lover, diamond smuggling Pat Robertson going to get raptured > he is going straight to Hell to be with Hitler!

  42. dolt Says:

I clicked the website and thought the little smiley faces blowing the trumpet and ascending to Heaven were kewl.

  43. Lisa Says:

these people are the dumbed down of the Dumbed Down, scarey

  44. TripMaster Monkey Says:

    - madashell:

Indeed. Do an image search for ‘Jesus’ or ‘Christ’ on Google sometime. It’s amazing how many pictures portray Jesus as not only a white man, But a Nordic white man with BLUE EYES.

  45. Clif Says:

Jay, hitlers comment upon seeing Pat will be , man even I’m impressed. You go boy…

  46. Equality72521 Says:

Please don’t ever direct me to a place so filled with pure evil and psychosis again. I know that people like this, masquerading as human beings, do exist. But to actually read their unfettered twisted thoughts has filled me with more fear and disgust than I ever though was possible. However, as frightening as the experience was, I think everyone should have the opportunity to understand what the extremist mean when they smile at you and say that “you should accept Christ into your life”. I’m still reeling.

If there truly is a higher power, this world DESPARTLY needs their help NOW.

  47. Mr. Evil Says:

#5 onthefence: I did. Those people are demented and twisted. Death and destruction everywhere and they rejoice at the killfest. What’s happening in the middle east is a direct result of arrogance and trying to base their reality with fantasy. Children, people do not, nor will they ever, float up into the clouds (unless, of course, you have access to a hot-air balloon). Grow up and get a grip on reality.

  48. kindness Says:

Oh jesus please take all the fundies RIGHT NOW!!!!!

  49. unbelievable Says:

The real test for the Rapture believers : give all of your assets up,NOW.
    Comment by Mike — July 14, 2006 @ 12:25 pm

    Excellent point!

  50. chopper Says:

Why do I have to be involved in your rapture.I have things to do and places to go. Can’t you have your own private rapture in the garage with the car running?

  51. Sharon Cox Says:

Good posts all, Trip Myster, I have a good bumper sticker.” Come the rapture I get your car”…That and many others nearly cover my tail gate on the old ford..One says, Mandatory labotamies for Republicans….I don’t brake for right winged nut jobs…Keeps the public busy and thinking while behind me. The biggest one is Impeach Bush…Blessings

  52. Skeptic Says:

I went through part of that blog. At least one person mentions “The Great Disappointment” where thousands of people where expecting the second coming, and were disappointed when it doesn’t come.
I think these people don’t believe that they have any effect on the world. The terror and destruction that comes just before the rapture is not anything they cause, just something that happens. So they are concerned abou the “rapture”, not the inevitable pain and destruction associated with it.

  53. TerrytheTurtle Says:

#49 - sure you could easily net a Hummer or a Lexus SUV when the driver gets lifted naked out of the sun roof. Don’t tailgate too close though….

  54. unbelievable Says:

They sound like Hitler talking about the Jews!

  55. Jesus Saves Says:

Jesus isn’t going to come down to help these weirdo’s,
he’s too busy trying to get Tom DeLay off the ballot.

I played in a band many years back where the Bassist
turned into a Jesus Freak. He believes this BS. I didn’t
even know how to talk to him anymore.

It’s like they take on a whole new persona, and become
entranced with the obtuse notion someone’s looking after
    them.

OTOH, I’ve known Pastors who are very grounded and decent
people. Would it be fair to compare suicide bombers with the
‘Rapturists’? Neither believe in mankind, just this pipe dream
    in the sky.

Maybe if Mohammed & Jesus had a world title fight we could get
to the bottom of ‘who’s better’.

What a complete waste of time, energy & blood. Gag me!

  56. Destroy the DLC Says:

More people than you think feel this way. Some in my own family.

You just to take the time to persuade them to join the military and fight.

    Seriously.

  57. Spudge_Boy Says:

If He tarries, I will just have time to get my hair and nails done (you know let all I come into contact with know of my Bridegroom and what He has/will do). So i am all spiffied up for Him when He does arrive to take me home. No disappointment, just a few last minute details to take care of to be more pleasing to look at.

WTF are these people thinking. Does this person think God or Jesus gives a crap about her nails or hair. I believe that would fall under vanity. You know, one of the seven deadly sins.

These people are nuts, plain and simple.

  58. Cool Breeze Says:

I too am soooo excited!! I get goose bumps, literally, when I watch what’s going on in the M.E.!!
[Death is exciting to these people of the Lord? ; sociopaths] And Watcherboy, you were so right when saying it was quite a day yesterday, in the world news, and I add in local news here in the Boston area!! Tunnel ceiling collapsed on a car and killed a woman of faith [again no remorse], and we had the most terrifying storms I have ever seen here!! But, yes, Ohappyday, like in your screen name , it is most indeed a time to be happy and excited, right there with ya!!

They embrace the death of others, and pray for death of others, Pary for war, so that they may become free?
You don’t get saved by praying for death — That would be doing the job of satan..hello.
People who think like this, above, will have a nice long vacation in hell.

  59. TerrytheTurtle Says:

Where’s Jim Jones when you need him?

  60. semanticantics Says:

They could avoid the rush and get started themselve. Nobody would mind.

  61. Jay Randal Says:

Jerry Falwell will NOT be raptured either > he worships Satan so he will be surprised where he ends up in the burning lake of fire!

  62. Cool Breeze Says:

Don’t they need a perfect red heiffer before armageddon comes?

  63. green917 Says:

“I like your Christ, I do not like your Christians. They are so unlike your Christ.”
    -Mohandas Gandhi

These people are truly bereft of any reason. They are proof positive, in my mind, that there is no god. If there were a god, the rest of us would not be forced to suffer these demented and deranged fools.

  64. TerrytheTurtle Says:

Time to put some form of commitment back into ‘drinking the Jesus kool aid’

  65. Cool Breeze Says:

And When Jesus did return he said unto them, “I do not Know you”
I guess they missed that part….

  66. madashell Says:

“Oh Lord, please protect me from your followers.”

  67. Ho Chi Minh Says:

  72. Bruce Gorton Says:

While I as an Atheist don’t believe in armegeddon, ragnorök or whatever you want to call it, I do believe it is within the capabilities of the particularly stupid to turn those prophecies into self-fullfilling ones.

    …..Washingtons Prophecy.

Again, amid the fearful noise of the conflict, I heard the mysterious voice saying, `Son of the Republic, look and learn.’ As the voice ceased, the shadowy angel for the last time dipped water from the ocean and sprinkled it upon America. Instantly the dark cloud rolled back, together with the armies it had brought, leaving the inhabitants of the land victorious!

“Then once more I beheld the villages, towns and cities springing up where I had seen them before, while the bright angel, planting the azure standard he had brought in the midst of them, cried with a loud voice: `While the stars remain, and the heavens send down dew upon the earth, so long shall the Union last.’ And taking from his brow the crown on which blazoned the word `Union,’ he placed it upon the Standard while the people, kneeling down, said, `Amen.’

“The scene instantly began to fade and dissolve, and I at last saw nothing but the rising, curling vapor I at first beheld. This also disappearing, I found myself once more gazing upon the mysterious visitor, who, in the same voice I had heard before, said, `Son of the Republic, what you have seen is thus interpreted: Three great perils will come upon the Republic. The most fearful is the third, but in this greatest conflict the whole world united shall not prevail against her. Let every child of the Republic learn to live for his God, his land and the Union’. With these words the vision vanished, and I started from my seat and felt that I had seen a vision wherein had been shown to me the birth, progress, and destiny of the United States.

  74. GSD Says:

If Chimpy is raptured is he going to leave behind his hurdy-gurdy and his little chimp hat?

  75. Vance Says:

People on that message board are referring to Christ as the “Bridegroom”….that is the most pervertedly disturbing thing i’ve read in a long time. This is truely cult mentality and very dangerous for our country. When people think the end is nigh, they do stupid shit whilst caught up in the fervor. If I knew somone like these people,id have my eye on them as much as possible and a gun close by.

  76. Bruce Gorton Says:

    Cool Breeze

    Sorry, Washington didn’t say it.

    Still good, but not Washington.

  77. Jay Randal Says:

Bush will NOT be raptured because he is the anti-Christ himself > wow when his followers figure that out, and they took his mark on their hands too, they will all faint or writh in pain!

  78. Cool Breeze Says:

People on that message board are referring to Christ as the “Bridegroom”…
The Church’s liturgy reveals this union in two ways. The first is the Blessed Sacrament, as Pope John Paul II comments:

The “sincere gift” contained in the Sacrifice of the Cross gives definitive prominence to the spousal meaning of God’s love. As the Redeemer of the world, Christ is the Bridegroom of the Church. The Eucharist is the Sacrament of our Redemption. It is the Sacrament of the Bridegroom and of the Bride. The Eucharist makes present and realizes anew in a sacramental manner the redemptive act of Christ, who “creates” the Church, his body. Christ is united with this “body” as the bridegroom with the bride. (1)

As husband and wife are “one flesh”, so Christ is “one flesh” with Ecclesia (Ephesians 5:30-32) for He gives Himself to her the Eucharist (John 6:56)

  79. Evil Spaniard Says:

What is sad is, all that people acts like assholes in Earth, because they think that attending church washes away all sins every sunday morning. If they were less godly oriented and more human oriented, we would find that the life in world is less like hell…

  80. Cool Breeze Says:

    Cool Breeze

    Sorry, Washington didn’t say it.

    http://www.snopes.com/language/document/vision.htm

    Yupp, Imagine that. =)

  81. unbelievable Says:

    Well said Evil Spaniard.

  82. Evil Spaniard Says:

And, they’re lost in the rethoric of some loose writings 2-5 thousands years old, translated (badly) several times, and without a straight and comprehensive idea, except that there is some super-force called God that does miracles. Sorry to the religious and caring people here, but too much other people acts like barbarians using the Bible (or any other theology book) as an excuse to be purely evil.

  83. Tom3 Says:

These Rapture people are psychotic. They’re excited about the violent end of the world. They WANT it to happen. They all need to be put in a mental hospital. This is not a religious belief…this is psychosis. These people are sick and need help.

  84. Bruce Gorton Says:

    Cool Breeze

    Sorry, missed your meaning.

    Evil Spaniard

This is all why watching the Life of Brian should be required in all schools across the world.

  85. zmark Says:

I wonder how many of these people would fly a plane into a building if they thought it would bring on the rapture.

  86. Bruce Gorton Says:

    Tom3

And guess what? These people probably all voted Bush.

  87. Quadrajet Says:

I don’t know, I’m kinda ‘pro-rapture’ myself. Seems to me like it would take all the ‘right’ people, hehehehehe

  88. Cool Breeze Says:

jI wonder how many of these people would fly a plane into a building if they thought it would bring on the rapture.

They, in effect, have the same mentality as ME extremists, much more cowardly, but they think essentially the same way.
    —————————————————————
During many ages there were witches. The Bible said so.
The Bible commanded that they should not be allowed to live.
Therefore the Church, after doing its duty in but a lazy and indolent way for 800 years, gathered up its halters, thumbscrews, and firebrands, and set about its holy work in earnest. She worked hard at it night and day during nine centuries and imprisoned, tortured, hanged, and burned
whole hordes and armies of witches, and washed the Christian world clean with their foul blood.
Then it was discovered that there was no such thing as witches, and never had been. One does not know whether to laugh or to cry.”
–Mark Twain, Bible Teaching and Religious Practice essay, “Europe and Elsewhere”

In addition to pressuring people to vote for Republicans churches should be talking these folks into joining the military.

  92. Quadrajet Says:

The worm poking it’s wild-eyed head up out of a hole in ‘ohappydays’ post kinda sets the stage rather appropriately for what’s to come if you keep reading, doesn’t it?

  93. Bluedog49 Says:

Just another lesson in why religion is a bad model for running a modern civilization.

  94. Bruce Gorton Says:

    Bluedog49

Religion is strongest when the people are suffering. When people are poor, scared, and less then chuffed with the world, they pray. When people are wealthy, fearless, and quite happy with the world, they don’t. It is easier for a person to pray and say “Please” then it is for a person to pray and say “Thankyou.” /endsermon.

  95. Spudge_Boy Says:

Bush will NOT be raptured because he is the anti-Christ himself >

    Jay Randal,

The problem is that the anti-Christ is a person with whom everybody in the world likes. That is why people will supposedly follow him. In Revelations they say that the person will die and come back to life, which leads to people thinking that he is the second coming of Christ and for the Jews the first coming.

Problem is that not everybody likes Bush.

  96. madashell Says:

I submit that CHENEY is the antichrist

  97. TerrytheTurtle Says:

my questions for chimpy’s next press conference:

mr bush - do you believe that today’s events in lebanon and israel bring the second coming a step nearer?

mr bush - how do you know we have already had the rapture?

  98. Badmoodman Says:

Comment by unbelievable: “I’m still waiting for a proponent of “Intelligent” Design to explain the human appendix to me” - -
I’m still waiting for a proponent of “Intelligent” Design to explain the human contents to me.

  99. Mr. Evil Says:

(I’m reposting this from last night; thought it might have some relevance)
Speaking of killfests, why don’t we just have one big deathmatch on this planet. Let’s just get it over with. We love death. Most of our hit movies are about killing. Most of our hit TV shows, death: after death, before death, watching death as it happens. The who, what and why of death. Murder rules on this planet. Everyone go out and buy guns tomorrow and load ‘em up and let’s play! Planet Earth Killfest! Coming Soon!

This has to be the absolute, stupidest planet with technologically advanced beings in the history of the universe. Politicians get to tell scientists that they don’t know what they are talking about. Most everyone’s God is an invisible man floating in the sky that wants everyone to be good and obey his rules but, no one does because killing is lucrative, politically advantageous, religiously captivating (remember, God is always on your side, so everyone is technically righteous in going to kill because some religious nutjob whacko said so) and it’s fun kids! You can keep score on the evening news.

If I were from another planet and had just discovered Earth and it’s life, after one quick look I’d turn around and haul ass back to the planet I came from never to return. Everybody in power lies and there are no ramifications. Stealing our money and practically giving it away to their business interests while they run up hundreds of thousands of dollars in hotel, golf, restaurant and whore bills waiting for their kickbacks. We live each day waiting to see who’s going to kill who. Is it any wonder why the pharmaceutical companies are constantly hawking the latest wonder cure-all drugs on TV? We need to be stoned, drunk and wasted just to stomach all this! And guess what? How much do you want to bet that the Planet Earth Killfest will continue tomorrow?

All ranting aside, how about we try something different for a change, like actually living. We are capable of much better because we don’t have computerized cars, space exploration, micro-surgery, worldwide communications (use us here as just one example), etc., etc., etc. because we are totally stupid and lost. We just have to demand more and better. More honesty, more integrity, more dignity and more humanity. We need to elect scholars and statesmen. Not people who hear voices and believe that God wants them to lead us beyond the point of no return. And I think that time is now.

  100. Mr. Evil Says:

(I’m reposting this too, same reason)
And with Israel, Lebanon, the Palistinians and most likely Syria and Iran soon to be major players in the middle-east killfest we will be paying much more for gas in the coming days. Kinda makes you just want to go out and buy a big SUV right about now doesn’t it? Guess what happens when the oil flow slows. We get immediately gouged. Prices will skyrocket. Lines will form. People will stew and brew until it happens… The Great American Gasoline Killfest! Exxon and Chevron and Shell and BP will reap hundreds of billions of dollars. CEO’s will escape about every 6 months with $100,000,000 retirement packages including protection, 4 Mexicans (2 male, 2 female), at least one prostitute per week for life, a signed photo of George Bush (signed, I did it all for you, “CEO name here”), a foreclosed-on city of their choice including it’s very own green zone and a new fleet of Hummer limos each with it’s own pool, spa and petting zoo and last, but not least, a lifetime of free entertainment of the rest of us killing each other for a gallon of gas. It’s a beautiful world.

  101. Paige Says:

They also wrote at Rapture Ready:

For the first time in my Christian walk, I have no doubts that the day of the Lords appearing is upon us. I have never felt this way before, I have a joy that bubbles up every-time I think of him, for I know this is truly the time I have waited for so long. Am I alone in feeling guilty about the human suffering like my joy at his appearing some how fuels the evil I see everywhere. If it were not for the souls that hang in the balance and the horror that stalks man daily on this earth, my joy would be complete. For those of us who await his arrival know, somehow we just know it won’t be long now, the Bridegroom cometh rather man is ready are not

  102. Spudge_Boy Says:

Politicians get to tell scientists that they don’t know what they are talking about.

These politicians are Christians. What we see today on global warming is the same thing that Galileo went through hundreds of years ago when he was persecuted for saying the Earth was not the center of the universe and that it was not flat.

    History repeats itself again.

  103. madashell Says:

An answer to those who think the bible is the source of Civilization, from Col. Robert Ingersoll:

They tell me that there never would have been any civilization if it had not been for this Bible. The Jews had a Bible; the Romans had not. Which had the greater and the grander government?

  104. Jay Randal Says:

Call them far-right Bush zombies > they are oblivious to the carnage that Bush causes worldwide, because they want to go to Heaven since the US under their Dubya is bad?!

  105. Lily Says:

It strikes me as odd that these people seem to think God needs help to bring this all about.

  106. The Other National Anthem Says:

    #103:
Well, depends on how you view the Roman Empire.
You could look at the view of the Western world, and say that they were grand and glorious.
Or you could look at the views of those who suffered under their reign. To them, the Romans were nothing more than tyrants.
Rome was a greedy, self-centered, blood-thirsty empire that got to exist because they trained their soldiers a little better than anyone else around them.
The Republic itself was corrupt, and was replaced by the Empire, which I’m sure is not something we want to descend to.
And besides, eventually Romans did get The Bibe.

  107. Lily Says:

Where’s Jim Jones when you need him?

    Comment by TerrytheTurtle

And where’s Herman Hayes when you need him?

  108. madashell Says:

I view the early days of the Roman empire - their descension into corruption was their undoing.

  109. Bruce Gorton Says:

    The Other National Anthem

Yeah, right before they fell to a largely Christian group of barbarians… oh.

  110. Damon S Says:

The Rapture is NOT an exit strategy!

  111. impeachcheneythenbush Says:

    …..Washingtons Prophecy

I read the whole thing (never heard of THIS before), but it kind of left out a few things…like WWI, WWII, Korean War, Vietnam War….someone getting “very creative” here. But dont’cha know…God is ALWAYS on OUR side.

Personally, I don’t believe God takes sides in war. His “side” is only one…the one of peace…as in, “blessed are the peacemakers…”

  112. Coffins draped with flags Says:

Well, I hope the asshole rapture folks remember the innocent baby that was killed so that they can float into the sky. Yeah, where are they going anyway? Will they meet the space shuttle in their travels? How insane. yeah, they never did evolve… when god was handing out the ability to evolve, they were left behind.

  113. Coffins draped with flags Says:

Won’t the rapture folks be as surprised as the suicide bombers? Both believed the lies.

  114. Coffins draped with flags Says:

Religion - the opiate of the masses.

  115. Spudge_Boy Says:

And besides, eventually Romans did get The Bibe.

Actually, they didn’t “get” the Bible. They stole it. Emperor Constantine is responsible for the Bible we have today. Before that Christianity was split up into factions, much like the Muslims are today. Constantine saw Christianity as a way to control the masses.

  116. Coffins draped with flags Says:

My son-in-law’s parents believe in the rapture. I was shocked by the horror stories that he told me that he had to live through growing up with these religious nuts. As a result, he rebelled as a young adult and so did his brother and sister. Then he met my daughter and came to his senses… and all is well.

Religion is the opiate of the masses.

  117. Spudge_Boy Says:

I know what you’re saying. None of my friends ever wanted to go to any of my family functions, for fear of being attacked by my relatives about Jesus. It happened once to my best friend. My aunt comes up to him and says “Have you heard the word of the Lord” and he goes “Nobody has ever heard the word of the Lord, you are reading a book written by a bunch of guys a couple of thousand years ago.”

  118. Coffins draped with flags Says:

Come the rapture I get your car”
Sharon - that’s a great one… can add, “and your house and all your money”… after all, they won’t be needing it where they are going.

    Peace…

  119. zmark Says:

Bush will NOT be raptured because he is the anti-Christ himself >

    Jay Randal,

The problem is that the anti-Christ is a person with whom everybody in the world likes. That is why people will supposedly follow him. In Revelations they say that the person will die and come back to life, which leads to people thinking that he is the second coming of Christ and for the Jews the first coming.

Problem is that not everybody likes Bush.

I think to the people who believe this crap, everyone does like Bush….at least in their circles.

To them Clinton could never be the anti-christ

  120. Steve53 Says:

These rapture folks just can’t seem to think things through.

  121. Spudge_Boy Says:

    zmark,

You are correct. These whackos (as Jack Abramoff calls them) only care about what their little circle of zealots think.

  122. Red Says:

In the words of Bob Dylan, “You Ain’t Goin’ Nowhere”!

  123. Marie Says:

Rapture Ready people are suffering from mass hysteria and referred insanity.
They voted for Bush and are thrilled with their self-fulfilled prophecy.
I guess it never occurred to them that Bush is Satan.

  124. JPark Says:

The huge logical fallacy in all of this is that before Jesus comes back all the non-believers will be dead…and yet somehow this anti-christ still has a formidable army.

  125. Jay Randal Says:

I think Rev. Jerry Falwell told Bush about the final battle of Armageddon occuring near Israel, so Dubya thinks this new war in Lebanon might lead to that, so he wants the conflict to explode bigtime!

  126. Jeff Says:

The page is gone but you can get a cached version here. Basically, lots of those suicidal nuts are excited that the lord is coming to take them away ha! ha!

    link

  127. Steve53 Says:

wonder how many of these people would fly a plane into a building if they thought it would bring on the rapture.

    Comment by zmark
    ===============
    My guess:between 50% and 100%.

  128. PLC (PatrioticLiberalChristian) Says:

This is more distortion of the Bible from a certain group of Christians. The Bible states that we will not know when the end of the world is coming (”like a thief in the night”). Christians who believe that part of the Bible should also know they can’t make the end come and be the believers who are “saved”. It is disheartening that these pseudo-Christians can’t put their energies into “bringing the Kingdom of God” to the world in the form of justice, mercy, love, caring, honesty, stewardship of the earth, and other values which are in their control. They give Christians a bad name IMO.

  129. For Truth Says:

I thought Jesus sais to avoid “date-setting” of the “end”. These people believe in something they refuse to listen to.

  130. Karim Michael Tahir Says:

    They deleted the post!

Didn’t want the truth to be revealed anymore!

  131. Jon Swift Says:

Looking at the Bright Side of World War III …

The folks on the Rapture Ready Forum don’t seem very concerned at all with what is happening in the Middle East. In fact, they are downright giddy at the prospect of all-out war. …

  132. Clif Says:

They must have some problem with the rest of ther world knowing exactally how they think…BECAUSE THE THREAD HAS MYSTERIOUSLY DISSAPPEARED…sort of like they let too much be known….good little hypocrites all of them

  133. Derailed Says:

I think the Bible says somewhere…there will be scoffers and folks saying…I’ve heard Christ was coming back for years…So where is HE? Little do you guys know that you are Actually, fulfilling biblical prophecy.

  134. child in christ Says:

The bible does state that Christ will return and rapture his church this is the generation that will see it…as the bible states…no one may know the hour or the day for I will come like a thief in the night. However it does tell us we will know the season. Right now we are seeing biblical prophesy coming true or havent you noticed the increase of activity in the middle east and the increase of weather phenomena? You yourselves are fulfilling prophesy….you are the scoffers the naysayers….read your bibles…it is ALL there…everything we are seeing right now is prophesied in the bible…wars and rumors of wars…pestilence and famine….earthquakes….weather phenomena inreasing and becoming more violent….increase of knowledge in the world….people speaking against christ…please check your bible…its all true…and im not a person who goes to church…i do believe however in christ…
