And so, it has come to this.

Doesn’t sound like the Israelis are doing much ‘targeting’ of Hezbollah militiants…sounds more like a damned free-for-all.

Of course, Dubya will let these latests war crimes slide…birds of a feather and all that jazz…

  3. Dave in IL Says:

Where is the US? Is it too much to ask the so-called leader of the “free” world to tear himself away from pig roasts and quips with Putin to demonstrate leadership in this crisis? Bush has given extremists the world over a huge present. Either Bush is complicit in the escalation, prefering platitudes and blaming Hezbollah, or too weak and ineffectual to do anything. Come on, stupid cowboy, get off your ass and do something.

  4. Peter Christian Says:

Perhaps this is a consequence of having an administration who thinks that John Bolton and Condolezza Rice are our most qualified diplomats.

The US response to this horrific situation seems about as effective as Betty Boop cradling her chin in her hands and crying “ooo, stop, ooo”. Too bad I haven’t even heard the administration say that much.

    Where is the US?

You’re kidding, right? Do some research on Israel and the U.S., and you’ll see that the U.S. has slavishly supported Israel’s every action since its inception.

    CNN Is Biased Towards Israel?!
    Saturday 15th of July 2006
    by Jay Randal

In watching the CNN coverage of Israel’s attack on Lebanon, it becomes obvious the news network has a bias towards Israel, so coverage of events is slanted!

Massive propaganda is being disseminated to put the blame for the conflict on Syria, and Iran, but no proof has been presented by the press, nor the Bush Regime!

The fast escalating conflagration masks a suspicious genesis of how Israeli government policies created the conditions for the widening warfare on the Hezbollah!

One covered up fact that the press fails to reveal fully is that the captured Israeli soldiers crossed the border into Lebanon before they were abducted by gunmen!

So in effect the rational for the attack on Lebanon was set-up by Israel, sending in some cheese to lure out the Hezbollah to take the bait, therefore to create the war!

President Bush and PM Olmert have been advocating for war on Syria/Iran since last year, so this is a very convenient opportunity to justify attacking them now!

( Jay Randal, political activist and writer in Stone Mountain, Georgia.)

  12. GSD Says:

Destroy those dangerous lighthouses! Way to go Israel. Hit the windmills and the covered bridges next! I hear they are slated to hit a ferris wheel and a miniature golf course too.

Yeehaw. Olmert is the new Jewish Cowboy. He is Bucky Goldstien!

  13. GSD Says:

US troops are sitting ducks in a Bush “quackmire”.

  14. TerrytheTurtle Says:

#12 - Jay, where’s your source for that comment about crossing the border before being abducted?

  15. Spudge_Boy Says:

    Jay Randal,

Isreal just needed a new Pearl Harbor. In a PNAC kind of way.

I watched a show on Discovery HD last night on the Crusades and it is quite clear to me that we are still fighting the Crusades. They didn’t go away. The rest of us are caught up in a war that has been raging for thousands of years.

I have changed my way of thinking. I used to say the Muslims have been fighting over there for thousands of years, because that is what I knew before, but the truth is the entire world has been fighting a Christian vs Muslim war for thousands of years.

The Crusaders (Bush and friends) want what they lost in the 1100s. Do you know what that was? Peices of wood that were supposedly part of the cross that Jesus was crucified on. The dumbass Crusaders took it onto the battlefield to bring the wrath of God to the Muslims. The problem is that the Muslim commander Saladin (sp) wipe them out and took the peieces of wood as a prize. The Crusaders have been trying to get it and Jerusalem back ever since.

The show was fascinating and scary as hell at the same time. You could replace Saladin with Osama bin Laden and William the Lionheart with George W Bush. And yes, William the Lionheart was just like Bush. He was King of England who had only been there once and he didn’t even speak English. He spoke French. SO, he was a phony just like Bush’s fake Texas accent.

We are witnessing some scary shit folks.

  16. Sharon Cox Says:

Jay, as usual you are right on about CNN. Some things in the past have been almost fair reporting but yesterday and today I became enraged at their reich winged slant. Time to tune them out along with the rest….Even I know more about the real truth of this murderious mess…One interesting and tragic thought, bull shit bush and Israel will sacrafice Americans and soldiers to incite the stupid to go along with their madness…Personaly, and may I add I do not ascribe to any one being killed except in self defence, I would like to see all these murders gone.. If I had the ability to hit the delete button and poof they all vanished it would be a good thing…..Sadly, The world of bush dictatorship is nearly complete…..Blessings

  17. Rebel With A Cause Says:

    JAY RANDALL

Just as I havae been saying for the past year on this site and others.

It is the purpose of Bush and Israel to draw Iran into the conflict. Israel will bomb Iran, Iran will retaliate, and then we join in. The israeli ground forces will try to take control of Iran, but I dont think they will be able to.

All of the media is biased towards Israeil and Bush in this matter. It makes no difference that Israel is using American bombs to kill civilians so long as the other side is using Iranian rockets. The propaganda machine is in full swing.

Olmert and Bush cannot even coordinate the getting of Americans out of Lebanon. Bush could have called on Olmert not to bomb the airport, the only way out, and Olmert would have obeyed his master. But Bush is too fucking dumb to even think about this.

All of this keeps the Red States in the Bush column.

  22. Jay Randal Says:

You are correct Spudge_Boy > Bush is definately a new Crusader in the Middle East > he wants the Muslims subjugated to our so-called superior Americanized ideals > very sad!

Thanks Sharon > CNN is doing biased coverage of the conflict, especially Wolf Blitzer!

TerrytheTurtle > I will try to post some information on how those soldiers were abducted! Some foreign press, like BBC, are reporting that the Israeli soldiers crossed into Lebanon, before being captured! Border on the Israeli side is very fortified, but on the Lebanese side it has pockets of Hezbollah gunmen, so hard for them to penetrate Israeli defenses to nab those soldiers! Interesting to remember that Hitler staged a border crossing event by Polish troops to justify invading Poland in WWII! So Olmert would NOT be the first guy to set-up a provocation to create a war by any means!

  23. Spudge_Boy Says:

  34. Spudge_Boy Says:

Idiot, The number is 32% and not all Islamic countries kill non-Muslims. You are generalizing.

If all Islamic countries kill non-Muslims, then why is George W Bush so friendly with Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emerates.

Generalizing all Islamic countries as “head choppers” is a very right wing thing to do. So, what are you left or right? Or just confused.

  35. JPark Says:

OK CORAL (sic). Do a spell and grammar check on your posts if you are going to call others morons.

  36. SortaLikeJake Says:

Israel is not making any friends with this. I have several friends vacationing in Lebanon that are currently in bomb shelters, awaiting evacuation. They’ve witnessed the bombings of hospitals and civilian vehicles. They’ve stated that the current death toll being reported is complete bullshit. All this for how many soldiers?

  37. OK CORAL Says:

YOU SOUND LIKE I RIGHT . nAIVE, NARROW MINDED AND PAID BY THE BUSHIES .when cornered he could only find fault in the spelling and typos , maybe you are paid by blood oil money . Since i have lived in arabs countries i am more an authority on the subject than most of you and know of the deep desire of Mohamed in every moslem :to convert the rest od the world.

  38. Sharon Cox Says:

OK Coral, don’t know where you have been, don’t care. Maybe you could answer for me in your rantings, how come bull shit bush has such close ties to the Saudi prince, all the BenLaudens and the DUBI bunch.? Huh? How about it, I mean holding hands, huge business deals that are not in the better intrest of the good old USA. Whos side are you on.? BTW these relegious zelots controling our country are no better if not worse than the arabs wanting to bring on an armagedon… The world has gone mad and much of the madness has been caused by bull shit bush himself and his pack of liers and thieves.

  40. Jokercub Says:

Yes, I’m biased. I’m biased, I’m biased, I’m biased. But as far as I see it, it is this simple. One side in this is our ally, one side wants to blow up our buildings and our citizens. Why exactly does the coverage have to be balanced?

  41. Rebel With A Cause Says:

Israel has cut off water and electricity in Gaza. Got to make those people suffer dude.

In Lebanon Israel is using American planes and bombs to kill civilians. A civilian bus going down the road is an ideal Israeli puke target, killing 18 men, women and children.

On the sidelines your pig prez is cheerleading them on, of course being a cheerleader was what he has always done best.

  42. katy Says:

dixie - hint - don’t use the return key until you want a new paragraph…
    otherwise, great message!

  43. oldtree Says:

I too like only a very few posting am ashamed of the people blaming Israel for fighting a war of independence. You might want to explore your feelings and see if you are KKK material.

you wouldn’t want to help a country that has been attacked every day for 60 years?
I am disgusted. this one is real, freedom or death.
not like the pretend bullshit that our administration is involved in. They only care about oil. This war is not about oil. It could be in a few minutes if Israel wants to. Realize they could end oil flow to stop the terror, but they don’t?

  44. Red Says:

Israel has gone totally psychotic. Now they’re attacking cities in the far north and east (Tripoli, Baalbek, Hermel) that are not even in Hezbollah territory. This is like if someone stole my car and I responded my murdering everybody in my neighborhood. It’s obvious that Israel is trying to start a regional war, and hoping to drag us into it.

  45. Jokercub Says:

so your well-reasoned response is that I must be a moron. Nice. What would you like, balanced coverage of Bin Laden? Balanced coverage of the Taliban? Fine, watch Al Jazeera.

  46. JPark Says:

oldtree, that is pathetic. You are using a conservative tactic in claiming that anybody critical of Israel is a bigot.

  47. el kanukistani Says:

People, people…..come on now. They are the chosen people. If they are doing it, it must be because it’e the right thing to do…..or is that the RIGHT thing to do.
Then again, the US is not allowing this to happen. For that to be true, USers would have to be in charge of the US. Since the neocons went after Clinton with the fervor they did because of a blow job, any real introspection will show that the Likudnik neocon Israelis are running the US government. Sure as hell couldn’t be the blowjob they put in the White House.

  48. Anon Says:

Hezbollah will have openings real soon for all you political scientists? I suppose now you will start saying that Hezbollah was only there feeding the poor when they accidently (everyday for the past couple of months) set off a few of the missiles which just happened to hit israel. 56. Nona Says:

widdle asss on your mind after putting your grandson to bed?

  57. Nona Says:

#66, I think most of the right holds the least and that is their main problem.

Israel still searching for their cough cough kidnapped soldiers with 500lb. bombs?
Maybe Hezbolla is hiding in the power plant, maybe the fuel storage facility, maybe the Water plant . What a joke, the only bigger one is watching the MSM parrot the Israeli propagnda.

  58. WaltTheMan Says:

Let us make it simple! I have a confidant - originally, Lebanese Christian - whose brother (with family) visited their mother and father in Lebanon over the past week. Both of the brothers are American citizens and serve in the United States military. The brother and his family are still stranded in Lebanon because W places Israel ahead of United States citizens and servicepeople.

  59. Lily Says:

Yes, I’m biased. I’m biased, I’m biased, I’m biased. But as far as I see it, it is this simple. One side in this is our ally, one side wants to blow up our buildings and our citizens. Why exactly does the coverage have to be balanced?

    Comment by Jokercub

First, if you’re biased, you’ll believe what you want, whether it’s right or wrong. Note, I’m not saying you’re wrong, just that you’re not open to other possibilities. And second, showing only one side constitutes propaganda. Whether the side they show is right or wrong, either way it’s propaganda. Most people don’t know the whole story with all the details. Let people see more of each side and decide for themselves.

Do we really want a nation of people who are told what to think?

  60. Jay Randal Says:

The following was posted on AOL news abouta few hours ago about Lebanon: “Fleeing refugees, including women and children, were cut down on a road adjacent to the Lebanese-Israeli border in an airstrike as the left the village of Marwaheen. The bodies of several children, one headless, were sprawled on the ground. Police said 15 were killed in the afternoon attack and an Associated Press photographer counted 12 bodies in the two cars.” ( Excerpt from: “Israeli Warplanes Blast Beirut Suburbs” by Sam Ghattas-AP writer.)

Israel is blatantly targeting and killing civilians in Lebanon, including children! Shame on them for blasting Lebanon into rubble! PM Olmert is worse than Sharon now! I am ashamed of President Bush and everyone who defends Israel in the US Congress!

  61. Jay Randal Says:

News reports out of Lebanon claim that actually hundreds of people have been killed by the Israeli bombing > It’s becoming a massacre! Off to bed, but I feel sick to my stomach!

  62. Rebel With A Cause Says:

    JAY RANDLE

As usual my man, you have got it right. I have read the same reports, seen the same things on the idiot box.

Over at Americablog, RawStory, and others they are betting that in a few more days of this shit Israel will attack Iran and Syria.

This action, if it comes, will be on the orders of Bush-Cheney-Rumsfeld. Bush has already promised Israel that if they do something rash, we will back them up.

I am not anti Israel, I am anti what is going on. These right wing nuts posting here dont get it, dont get it at all.

Israel is using American planes and bombs to kill civilians, but, if Lebanon or others strike back, oh Lordy, that is terrible. What a twisted view they have of life in the Middle East.

  63. Jay Randal Says:

Post 73 > The Bush Regime wants Israel to set off a war on Syria/Iran, because Bush can then claim that he did not start it, but nonetheless the US will get involved in the damn mess! Neocons in DC have wanted to attack Syria/Iran for months now. so very convenient that Israel attacked Lebanon > this whole thing was preplanned!

  64. WaltTheMan Says:

I simply do not understand why Lebanon is being punished. Lebanon has been an occupied country for the last 40 years. Lebanon has only a rudimentary fighting force that was in the process of rebuilding after Syria withdrew most of its forces when Israel tore into its very infrastructure. If Israel only had the common sense to take out only the Hezbollah forces occupying Lebanon, and not civilians, disturbances would spiral down over time. The insane acts by Israel have only served to lengthen that process.
The act yesterday of persuading civilians to leave Marwaheen in southern Lebanon and then bombing them on the way out is an autocracy of the nth degree.
