NYT sent a terrorist letter containing a “powder”…
This just goes to show that the bush supporters and the ones attacking the NYT are themselves terrorists. Bush supporter == terrorist. They call for the torture and murder of jouranlists and send letters with powerders in them like the anthrax letters from a few years back… it wouldnt surprise me if a bush supporter sent the original anthrax letters as well.
Gerald: I’ve watched a lot of the NYT bashing of late and it doesn’t make sense. I’ll bet it was a Fox News watcher who’s IQ is probably the same as the channel they watch the network on. At the same time the NYT published it’s story, the LA Times and WSJ also published the same “secret” information – but people don’t seem to understand that.
I can’t believe anyone would think that the terrorists are so dumb. I believe there was research done profiling the typical terrorist/suicide-bomber and overwhelmingly they come from rather afluent backgrounds as opposed to the typical Fox News watcher who barely knows how to blow his/her nose, let alone blow up something else. :)
Oh, and it was nice of the DHS to publish a list of possible terrorist targets – tho there are thousands of them to pick from. My bet is on that Petting Farm – high risk. :)
Agreed, why on earth would any terrist waste time and energy and the chance of being apprehended by sending (fake! no less) hazardous substances to an organization which could only help its cause?
Gerald, I agree, it is radical wite-wing-wacktoid elements supported in their demented ideals by the fools we have allowed to represent us as a nation that pull stunts like these. Anything to further justify their desire for contol and power over others.
The most notable part of the proceeding was the response by DPRK’s UN Ambassador. He rejected the resolution based on the idea that DPRK’s missile tests, and other defense programs are stabilizing factors in the neighborhood. Among other things, he cited W’s axis of evil and invasion of Iraq to argue that without a strong DPRK defense, the U.S. would have invaded long ago, destabilizing the entire region. He said it right there, in the UN, in front of everyone. He’s the first one on W’s shit list to actually outloud what all of them are thinking. Should go down as an historic speech.
Witness the birth of a new series at Welcome to Pottersville: Cloven Hoof in the Mouth. Yours truly kicks off this new series by deconstructing a massive Koolaid fart from Robert Kagan, whoi insists that Bush’s brand of patient diplomacy with Iran and North Korea will save the day should he decide to not leave after January, 2009.
it wouldnt surprise me if a bush supporter sent the original anthrax letters as well.
Only democrats and Tom Brocha were sent anthrax letters. There is no doubt in my mindt that it was a right winger that sent the original anthrax letters.
#9. It was broadcast live on CNN. The DPRK ambassador spoke in English. It’ll be rebroadcast on C-SPAN, and will probably be in their video library. Enjoy. Maybe crooks & liars should put it up.
Not so … we’re “freedom fighters”. ;-) Are you actually serious with this statement … do you actually know of anyone who doesn’t think like you? Terrorists … for supporting an elected President … are you raving mad?
I’ve watched a lot of the NYT bashing of late and it doesn’t make sense. I’ll bet it was a Fox News watcher who’s IQ is probably the same as the channel they watch the network on.
Yeah … who could possibly arrive at a different conclusion than you … they must be all imbeciles. What does a news channel have to do with IQ exactly?
I can’t believe anyone would think that the terrorists are so dumb.
I’m sure you’ve heard that we actually caught a terrorist with the aforementioned program … how do you reconcile that fact with your above statement. Does a terrorist only have to be dumb to be caught or could it be that they’re ignorant to how we might track them? Any thoughts?
Does the fact that I know that there’s a speed trap somewhere on I-40 assist me in knowing exactly where that trap is … will I slow down if I know cops are on patrol? Likely? Maybe? Will I take my chances if I don’t see a cop for a long stretch? Perhaps. Don’t confuse the fact that they know we’re tracking capital flow with knowing exactly how we’re tracking it. You and I knew they were looking at finances … did we know how? The NY Times is playing a dangerous game … some people feel they should’ve erred on the side of caution (especially given 1) legality 2) effectiveness and 3) bipartisan support) … I happen to agree. That’s all there is to it …
He’s the first one on W’s shit list to actually outloud what all of them are thinking. Should go down as an historic speech.
What all of them are thinking? Do purport that you speak for all of the UN ambassadors? Could they possibly be thinking that the PDRK representative is a patsy for psychotic fool who has starved milions of his own people to death? Does a unamimous decision by the security council point toward your opinion or mine?
Did you actually look at what the other security council members said before you weighed in? Have you considered that the people of the DPRK (why do all dictatorships have “democratic” in their title … like that fools anyone) are not representated by what their dictator is doing and that HE is attempting to preserve his own little heinous fiefdom a little longer. Have you actually observed the empirical differences between South Korea and DPRK … has that influenced your opinion on their ambassador’s comment.
Given the plight of the North Koreans, how do you reconcile your comment that their ambassador’s comment is somehow historic … historic in that he stood up to Bush (which you seem to think is great) or historic in that another nation with a psychopathic moron at its head continue to subjugate his people while all you can muster is smug satisfaction that some peon called George Bush a name. Get out of your bubble … people are suffering over there … they need help and your dislike of GWB shouldn’t blind you to that. What’s your deal?
dunno ’bout you’n folk, but as long as bush poll ratings bounce around, as a flat tire, I am going into vacation mode until they get above 40% till then it’s lurker city
–Not so … we’re “freedom fightersâ€. ;-) Are you actually serious with this statement … do you actually know of anyone who doesn’t think like you? Terrorists … for supporting an elected President … are you raving mad?–
Other than the obvious that he wasn’t elected Bush is unnecessarily causing more death than any terrorist group. What does that make you?
–Yeah … who could possibly arrive at a different conclusion than you … they must be all imbeciles. What does a news channel have to do with IQ exactly?–
Well, studies show that Jon Stewart fans are far more educated than Bill O’Reilly fans. Years after the war Fox viewers still believe Iraq had WMD and that Hussein was behind 9-11. Fox is the organization that defended itself in court against one of it’s own reporters stating that it is not a news outlet’s job to tell the truth. Sorry, bud, you have to have a sub-par IQ to believe anything they say.
Other than the obvious that he wasn’t elected Bush is unnecessarily causing more death than any terrorist group.
Look … I’ve heard all about that conspiracy. You’re free to believe whatever you want. I’m not sure what tally’s you’ve been reading about who’s “winning” the “most death” count. Last I read, death’s in Iraq were caused by the terrorists 10 to 1 (this isn’t surprising since they tend to blow up mosques and shopping malls as part of their battle plan).
Well, studies show that Jon Stewart fans are far more educated than Bill O’Reilly fans. Years after the war Fox viewers still believe Iraq had WMD and that Hussein was behind 9-11.
Well … I watch both. My genius is now legend !!!!! As for the Iraq had WMDs, some Iraqis still think that … the Hussein behind 9/11 thing was extremely ignorant but I don’t think we can attribute that ignorance to Fox news (don’t confuse correlation with causation). It’s not like they reported such. I’ve never heard about that “telling the truth” allegation … it’s news to me.
I guess what’s important is that all of us have a responsibility to not blindly accept facts from any one source. I’ve watched O’Reilly … he’s conservative, but certainly no friend to the Republicans (he calls out Bush all the time). I’ve read DailyKos … certainly liberal, but willing to slam “poor” Democrats. No one should get information from one source. I’m not worried about Fox’s impact any more than I am DailyKos’ … they both have their flaws and benefits. Fox would only be worrisome if it were the sole news source … it’s not even close. I’m sure you’ll say that some “people only watch Fox” and nothing else but that’s an impossible argument to make. Preference for one news channel doesn’t mean a total blackout of all other sources.
Too many other problems in the world at present to worry about North Korea > best to just leave them alone at present! Israel igniting WWIII in the Middle East is more important!
Actually, it was Japan’s insistance, more than the US’s, that moved the security council, because the last thing they want is Japan militirizing, because they would be more agressive than Israel in pushing back on its neighbors.
The US should suspend any treaty restrictions on Japan since WWII, and the Japanese people should vote to amend their constitution to allow for their own military.
Yeah, I watched Bolton at a press conference at the UN yesterday. He was saying that the resolution about to be voted on would take care of everything. It was to be the end to all ends for NK.
Hell fire, the resolution is nothing at all like he crowed about. It is nothing more than a condemnation of NK for the missiles. It does nothing to prevent them in the future, it puts no sanctions, it is a useless piece of paper, but the neo-con propoganda machine is pumping out different bile.
What a sick bunch of bottom feeders we have in our government.
–Last I read, death’s in Iraq were caused by the terrorists 10 to 1 (this isn’t surprising since they tend to blow up mosques and shopping malls as part of their battle plan).–
Ok, we have Shi’ite death squads raiding neighborhoods (often in government vehicles) killing innocent Sunni’s, we have Sunni’s blowing up Shi’ite mosques. It is a horrible cycle of violence but unless you are calling all Muslims terrorists, what you read was pure BS. The majority of killing is due to civil war.
You asked what watching a specific news channel (FOX) had to do with IQ. I told you and it remains true. While it is admirable that you don’t blindly accept facts from one source, the majority of FOX viewers do exactly that and that IS the direct cause of the misinformation about WMD+Saddam and 9-11=Saddam. Very few people who get their news from other sources believes such tripe. I notice that you didn’t quote me on FOX using the defense that it is not a news outlets job to tell the truth. Doesn’t that destroy any modicrum of credibility anyone could ascribe to them?

Or what? The U.N. will hit North Korea with a barrage of harsh language?

July 15th, 2006 at 8:15 pm#6 I’d liek to see that, as I think many people would. Too bad it will never make it past the suppression censors.
#7 I have been expecting an ‘October Suprise’ from this administration ever since Bush said in a 2004 interview “Oh I won’t lose.”
