The age old coward mantra : Just following orders.
Just so you know, being ordered to murder, and then following through on that order, then makes you a murderer. You imply an “honor” that is unearned and an immunity that is not valid.
40 yeah war is hell and people die. Since the beginning of time there has been armies that kill. Call them murderers, it was those murderers that secured where you live now. As for cap o’ shit, nothing but a pimple on my ass.

I agree that Time Capsule is just being obnoxious and inflammatory. I think any reasonably intelligent being can identify that quite quickly.
Now, you say war is “hell” and I agree wholeheartedly. For this reason, war should be the last resort of a civilized and moral society. Do you believe likewise?
Oh, and no “murderers” have secured where I am now. I would not consider myself “free” if my existence was made possible by the murder of innocents. Would you?

#43-american,
I live on the third planet from the sun, Earth. It is the only planet inhabitable by humans in our solar system so I feel comfortable assuming that we live in the same “placeâ€.
I owe my existence to my parents.
My freedom is the result of the teachings of my parents, the education that I have received and continue to receive, and my own intellect.
Who are you enslaved to that were able to convince you that you must do their bidding in order to be free?
#45. And you live in a bubble? You don’t pay taxes? You don’t live in any neighborhood? You write in a wonderful utopian view but the reality is that someone at sometime has fought and died for you to be where you are. Wonderful concept for all of God’s children to be kind and all are free but look around. borders exist and will be defended.
#47-american,
So the fact that I am completely free irritates you? I suggest that you revisit your position on that.
Since you do obviously do not have the education, I will share with you mine. All limitations are self imposed. Until you realize that, you will never be free.
And once again, my existence has not been made possible through murder. I can not state it any simpler than that.
Humanist, I am not in the least bit irratated by anything you profess. Education or lack there of appears to be an attack or put down. Again look at my first sentence. Existentialism is a great concept. You didn’t answer any question such as taxes, community. Possible prior forced enlistment. Your existence in and of itself has not been made possible thru murder. Never professed that. But where you live has. That is a fact. Bad things have happend in the world and will continue to do so. I’m sure Tibetian monks would approve the path you have chosen and I, for one, will not begrudge you of it. But you are avoiding my questions. Any place on this planet has, at one time or another, been fought for and people have died and been killed. Right or wrong, just or unjust it still is so.
at some point one must put down the club and stop the blame then slap routine. It is called conscious evolution and the way I look at what is going on now is that this is the death, the climax of the “caveman” in human beings. Those least suited to bring forth peaceful human change towards evolution are now in power and they unknowingly will DRAG us all violently towards this change for the better, the survival of the species.Nature always bring things into balance, sometimes in the strangest of ways.
#49-american,
You have heard nothing of what I have said. Please open your mind.
I am a resident of the planet Earth. No murders made my residency possible nor would I accept residency if that was the price.
The borders that you murder to maintain do not exist in reality, they exist only in your mind. Fences do good neighbors make but borders only create enemies and a false sense of security.
And I was not “putting you down†for a lack of education. I merely stated what I saw and then attempted to help. My education is very valuable to me yet I will share it with anyone who requests such. It does not make me better than anyone, or smarter than anyone, that’s a fool’s arrogance.
Let’s see, how many years have there been peace on this planet and how many years has there been war? You have avoided the direct questions. Contrary to what you may think, I do understand stance on which you put forth. And do appreciate your beliefs. You choose not to debate the cold hard facts of the politics that do sorround you and affect you every day. So be it.
#52-american,
The Earth is not at war, only foolish men with dubious motives are at war. You accept war as a natural state, and that is where your problem starts. If you cannot see that war is an abomination, then you will always find ways to justify it with the limited intellect that you put forth on the task.
As far as debating the “cold hard facts”, that is all that I do. You choose to bend the facts to meet your political goals and nationalistic agenda. Facts don’t bend, that is called “deception”.
Earth has always been at war. Wish it weren’t so but it is. Natural or not it always has been. Yes war is an abomination perpetrated by men and I don’t attempt to justify it but I do see it. You don’t debate the cold hard facts, you stand above the fray showing all who read how we all much love and respect each other. Great concept. No bending here. The only way for your concepts to work is if the entire world would give up their arms and join together for a common good. As much as anyone would want this, it’s not going to happen any time soon. Is it a fact you pay taxes or not? Do you drive a car? Do you wear clothes? All of these would be considered by rational beings to be questions answered with facts. Haven’t seen any answers, only philisophical lecturing.
#54-american,
Has the Earth initiated a war with another planet or celestial object? Are you really that obtuse?
Also, please reference any “non facts†that I have presented or debated. You claim that I don’t debate facts and then offer nothing specific or factual. Dubious at best, sir.
Lastly, I see clearly your problem. You say that a peaceful world would be wonderful, and then you immediately say that it is impossible. Such defeatism is akin to standing at the starting blocks of a race while loudly professing that you cannot win. Of course you will lose, you quit before the race began. And you speak as if “peace†must be won through violence. You have it all backwards. Peace is the natural state of things, war is the abomination that breaks the peace. It’s not the other way around. You have been fooled.
And do the clothes that I wear have any bearing on the truths that I speak? Once again, are you really that obtuse?
Then please answer the simple questions. Do you pay taxes? do you drive a car? Do you eat? Where is peace the natural state of things? Show me that. Surely not in nature. Yours is a conceptual utopia that you will achieve in your own mind but not in the masses. I don’t profess that peace will be won thru violence. Your words, not mine. Your truths are relative to the arguments you proudly exclaim but are not going to get Israel out of Lebanon, or US out of Iraq.
56 and this can be shown how?????? Peace between the cavemen? surely no dinosaurs killed each other. The Aztecs or Incas, no killing there. Your peace is mythical
Peace is then a term created by humans. What is peace? happy coexistence? If humans have only been on the planet for 10 to 12 thousand years how do we know there was peace? Since humans it’s been a pretty steady diet of war.
#57-american,
I believe that you forgot the question “boxers or briefs?” Your innate absurdity is beyond my ability to address at this time. I hope that you take the time to really think about what I have already said to you. I am certain that the answers you seek are there, it’s only a matter of you being willing to see them.
61 Humanist. I wish you all the best in your goal to attain nirvana. You neglected to show your actual existence on this planet and I guess I don’t expect you to. Truth is there are bad things that happen all around us. It is the true nature of man on how to overcome these obstacles whether they are natural or man made. We haven’t excelled enough on this planet act as one. Maybe someday someone will look to your writings as the true begining of the age of enlightment but we aren’t there yet.
Blue, I tend to be a realist and the reality is war happens and humans cause it. Is it possible to rid the world of war? Sure but not any time soon. I don’t want to see any war and I definitely don’t want our soldiers being sent off to die for a lie. This thread originated due to the increase in attacks in Bahgdad. Sectarian attacks that were predicted if we (US) executed poorly and didn’t offer a better path such as working power, jobs, proper sanitation. Now our options are limited and quite shitty. Pull out and leave the entire region in chaos? continue as we are to be closer when the civil war fully erupts. Escalate and kill untold more innocents. Bad things happen all too often. Lofty ideals don’t correct this. True people with action and conviction do.
Lou Dobbs show is running a little segment now on the disaster in Iraq. Earlier, Pt Buchanan was almost beside himself in frustration and anger at the neocons and their lead into this horrific mistake that we will pay for through the foreseeable future.
This will be Bush’s legacy – and unfortunately ours as well.
But, but, but… they keep telling us that things are going swell in Baghdad. I mean, if Energy Secretary Bodman said so yesterday, it’s got to be true, right?
Since the beginning of time there has been armies that kill.
Comment by an american
What time are you talking about? It seems to me that you are trying to justify war because it is natural to humans…so US is the closest thing to humanity: a war provider.
Well, wrong. And, just common sense…remember when you were a kid and you were in school? HOw many friends did you have and how many enemies? Please do tell. I am guessing you are an adult, please, tell me how many personal enemies (not the ones your TV screams at you) do you have right now? Are you happier with having friends or with having enemies? This seems ridiculous, but its not…its human nature. Just look at kids, they get along even when someone is different, or hit themselves…at the end of the day they want to make friends…
Now…WAR was invented by powerful people to drive poor ignorant people to fight for POWERFUL PEOPLE´S interests.
Yep and what is the Bush Regime going to do about it? Kill even more Iraqis probably!

Peace.
July 20th, 2006 at 4:40 pmThen please answer the simple questions.
July 20th, 2006 at 4:53 pm56 and this can be shown how?????? Peace between the cavemen? surely no dinosaurs killed each other. The Aztecs or Incas, no killing there. Your peace is mythical
July 20th, 2006 at 4:55 pmPeace is then a term created by humans. What is peace? happy coexistence? If humans have only been on the planet for 10 to 12 thousand years how do we know there was peace? Since humans it’s been a pretty steady diet of war.
July 20th, 2006 at 5:02 pm#57-american,
I believe that you forgot the question “boxers or briefs?” Your innate absurdity is beyond my ability to address at this time. I hope that you take the time to really think about what I have already said to you. I am certain that the answers you seek are there, it’s only a matter of you being willing to see them.
May peace be with us all.
July 20th, 2006 at 5:02 pm61 Humanist.
July 20th, 2006 at 5:07 pmBlue, I tend to be a realist and the reality is war happens and humans cause it.
July 20th, 2006 at 5:16 pmLou Dobbs show is running a little segment now on the disaster in Iraq. Earlier, Pt Buchanan was almost beside himself in frustration and anger at the neocons and their lead into this horrific mistake that we will pay for through the foreseeable future.
July 20th, 2006 at 6:29 pmThis will be Bush’s legacy – and unfortunately ours as well.
But, but, but… they keep telling us that things are going swell in Baghdad. I mean, if Energy Secretary Bodman said so yesterday, it’s got to be true, right?
/sarcasm meter off
July 20th, 2006 at 6:31 pmSoldiers are not decision makers. They carry out policy. They are cogs in a large wheel turning. Don’t blame the soldiers.

July 20th, 2006 at 8:07 pmSince the beginning of time there has been armies that kill.

July 20th, 2006 at 8:17 pmNow…WAR was invented by powerful people to drive poor ignorant people to fight for POWERFUL PEOPLE´S interests.
