will be investigated by the House Government Reform Committee. Chairman Tom Davis (R-VA) and Rep. Henry Waxman (D-CA) announced today that that they will launch a bipartisan inquiry into allegations that White House officials, including former adviser Philip Cooney, edited climate reports to play down the potential threat of global warming.
c’mon, trolls, let’s hear your excuses for the regime….
July 20th, 2006 at 4:37 pmLets hope this house committee actually meets and produces a report
July 20th, 2006 at 4:38 pmGreat…another inquiry that will go nowhere!
July 20th, 2006 at 4:39 pmWonder how long it will take to produce results. If they really are trying to find the truth it shouldn’t take long…
July 20th, 2006 at 4:45 pmWhile I care a great deal about global warming, and think this should be investigated, where is the bipartisan inquiry into the activities of GWB and this administration?
July 20th, 2006 at 4:48 pmCome on, this will stall ’cause Cheney decided that this information on Global Warming is Super-Secret-Classified.
July 20th, 2006 at 4:55 pmLet me save ALL of you the suspense of the final report:
“No one did anything wrong. Nobody doctored nuthin. It’s all Clinton’s fault”.
July 20th, 2006 at 5:00 pmWhy is this such a surprise? The concentration of power and wealth in a few hands, and the gap between the rich and poor has been big since time immemorial.
July 20th, 2006 at 5:03 pmWhen you have no defense for your argument, fix the statistics and lie.
July 20th, 2006 at 5:30 pmKarl Rove.

It was going so well, then somebody screwed up and inserted a copy of Jurassic Park by mistake.
July 20th, 2006 at 6:07 pmYeah, while it actually sounds like they’ll do something, the report will come out around the same time thatPhase 2 of Pat Roberts’ report on the investigation into pre-war intelligence is released.
July 20th, 2006 at 6:24 pmThe do nothing congress is kicking off another do nothing investigation that will be forgotten about once it’s out of the headlines
July 20th, 2006 at 6:26 pmIf true(odds:approaching 100% that it is,imo)–that’s one slimy administration.
July 20th, 2006 at 6:44 pmI have believed since day one that these people have doctored every report they have issued. Their rosey economic news rarely matches what is out on the street. Multiple times their forcasts on the economy have been way off what wall street has predicted. Their assessment of Iraq was far removed fom reality. Medicare, social security. I can’t think of too many times where they said something and very quickly evidence to the contray was not exposed, so why should this be any different?
July 20th, 2006 at 7:22 pmI wouldn’t, yet, write off the enquiry or assume that the report will say everything was fine all along. While I wouldn’t trust Davis to do anything other than posture, Waxman is a different kettle of fish altogether. He may be quiet and under the radar a bit, but he’s like a burr on a dog’s tail — very hard to dislodge.
July 20th, 2006 at 8:31 pmIf Rep.Waxman is doing the investigation, it will happen. He has done a great many investigations that this Administration did not want done. But he does not let that stop him. For instance, he did the investigation of the “Abstinence Only” sex ed. curriculum, uncovering all of the false information that they had been using. He is a good man.
July 20th, 2006 at 8:43 pm#17, While is sounds promising, the admin is still spewing that false information in “Pregnancy Help Centers”. Nothing will change.
July 20th, 2006 at 9:30 pmYa know, if these bush folks worked half as hard as they do covering, ducking, dodging, denying, altering, redacting, blocking and flat out lying, they MIGHT actually do something right….naw who am I kidding — they apparently just love wasting time creating hypocrisy and propaganda.
July 20th, 2006 at 9:44 pmA few years ago, if someone would have told me that an administration as rotten to the core as this one would come to power, I would have laughed at the impossibility of it.
July 20th, 2006 at 10:33 pmEvery day, there is more evidence of their absolute corruption and every day I want to scream. And I want to scream at those members of the public who can’t/won’t see it.
When I take a step back and think of the scope of what they have done to the country it is positively shocking.
#18- Thank goodness for Planned Parenthood. It just shows how little BushCo cares about the truth. They have a history of creating, and then using their ‘faulty intelligence’ to present the reality they want to see. Why anyone would doubt that they would do this regarding Global Warming, is beyond me. It is what they do.
July 20th, 2006 at 11:28 pmI can’t think of too many times where they said something and very quickly evidence to the contray was not exposed.
July 21st, 2006 at 2:41 amso and i!!
Well the Bush Regime fiddles with everything else, so why not climate reports too > lol.
July 21st, 2006 at 3:00 amJust keep telling yourself we’ve only got a little over two more years!

July 21st, 2006 at 11:54 amUndoubtedly, in a year’s time (maybe sooner) we will hear that requests for documents the committee wants to analyze have been denied due to “national security” concerns. Just wait and see…
