The soviets, the americans..others in their history.
The Iraqi people - children, women, men - who have died in the invasion and subsequent occupation were and remain innocent of any and all of the bogus evidence and accusations presented and made against them and their country.
I think so!!!!!!!!!~~~

What a sad state of affairs with this administration when it takes a Lieutenant General to admit something that most us us knew six months to a year ago! If only more of those generals would speak truth, instead of spouting the Bush theme, how better would things be? Of course, generals on active duty speak out at a risk to their own careers, which takes more courage than most have, but at least they could keep their mouths shut, rather than spouting out "all that progress" being made, which most of the American people are now becoming aware are just lies. But, retired generals are under no restriction as to taking a position. About eight or so have spoken out, but now it seems that even those have been silenced. I wonder what "threats" the administration used to accomplish that feat?

When is TP going to truncate any post over 100 words to 100 words? Scrolling through these posts is aggravating my carpal tunnel syndrome (and I don't read a word after realizing that it is an extreme case of keyboard diarrhea).

#61-Cyra,
I agree, I do not get to decide what the truth is but neither do you. Of course, the truth is unbending, unwavering, does not have an agenda, and is not a malleable item in the least.

I beg you, dispute any of the truths that I have put forth. Is the United States military responsible for killings of Iraqis? I say "yes", do you dispute? Now, granted, I did not say "all" deaths as such is ridiculous, but by far too many deaths. Is not this the truth and is not it another truth that the United States of America has led the campaign in Iraq? Is any of this in dispute?

Just as those truths are pure and in no way being manipulated by myself or anyone else, so are the following truths:
- Americans were misled into war. The Iraqis were not a clear and present danger nor did they have ANY of the weapons, affiliations, or programs that were used as SPECIFIC justification for the invasion led by the USA.
- This is the only ambiguous truth, and the reason for the ambiguity is as vile, perhaps even more vile, than the truth itself: 50,000 - 200,000 dead Iraqi civilians. The reason for the ambiguity is that the command and leadership of the invading forces, ultimately led by the USA, have not "bothered" to count, or publicly release such information.
- The American public is aware of the false pretenses upon which you agreed, with opposition of course, to support the Iraq invasion. WMD, known. Al Qaeda link, known. Mobile biolabs, known. In fact, most of colin powell's bogus speech to UN, known. Nuclear programs and warheads, known. All of these reasons are known to be bogus by a vast majority of Americans. The only holdouts, 20%?, are in denial. Another truth.
- The invasion and subsequent occupation (foreign military dictatorship?) has lasted over 3 years. The bogus nature of the "evidence" started to become publicly known soon after the initial invasion, although many here will argue that at least some of it was known to be bogus even before the invasion.
- The Iraqi people - children, women, men - who have died in the invasion and subsequent occupation were and remain innocent of any and all of the bogus evidence and accusations presented and made against them and their country.
- To kill someone who was and is no threat to you, and especially under false pretenses, is murder.
- The murder and carnage continues to this day.
- And finally, that by virtue of the Constitution of the United States of America, the power of government is vested in the People. The United States of America's government is a representative democracy regulated and dictated by the vote of the People. That the government structure of the United States of America is of the people, for the people, and by the people. By design, of course, as "corruption" is not a valid excuse and should never be accepted.

All of my posts only reference these truths. None of them create them. Please, if you have such, dispute any of these truths with me. Challenge specifically any one of them. What's worse, is the size and scope of the group of indisputable truths presented.

It is far past time, but it is not too late. Do something. Stand up and say "Not in my name."

May peace be with us all.

#59-Humanist- "Our culpability for absolutely everything." You say, " ... that Iraqi's are facing at this very moment, and have been enduring for THREE YEARS during your complacency." And then you say that you "hate the abuses and murders that 'you' (me) and others, are openly and cavalierly perpetrating." And follow it all up with, would rather not have to address such truths with you again." So, yes I am disputing that. You are intitled to your opinions, but you do not get to decide what the truth is.

#53-Cyra,
I respectfully disagree, you do not "appreciate my concerns".

I am not here to fulfill some desire to feel superior, nor do I have cause to be sanctimonious. I am no better than anyone here, nor smarter, nor more pious, and I have or will never say such.

Also, I am not here offering opinions or scoldings. And any "wisdom" that gets passed along is in the realization and acceptance of truth and reality, none of it is from my self generation. I am lecturing, perhaps, but only doing so as a presentation of the truth. I offer facts only, not conjecture. Do you dispute that?

And it is disturbing that you attempt to dismiss me as just a "nag". How inconvenient it is for you that I come here and am "...generously dumping your seemingly endless supply of unsolicited wisdom about our culpability for absolutely everything, all over us". It must be horrible for you to have to endure such abuse. Consider what it would be like if instead of "unsolicited wisdom" you were being bombarded with, say, bombs. Or shot at. Or raped. Or tortured. Or dismembered. Those are the "annoyances" that Iraqis are facing at this very moment and have been enduring for THREE YEARS during your complacency. Those are the heinous and evil atrocities occurring in your name and you complain about being pestered and bothered with being reminded of such. How horrible for you. I'm sure that your heart bleeds for yourself.

Lastly, you seem to imply that I enjoy bringing these truths to you. That I derive pleasure from pointing out your shortcomings and imperfections. I am appalled at your ignorance, for you then have heard nothing that I have ever said. I hate the murders and abuses that you, and others are openly and cavalierly perpetrating. It sickens me to my core and brings me only grief and sadness. I find nothing enjoyable or pleasurable about this and would rather never have to address such truths with you again.

How you can sit back and ignore the reality and then attempt to paint yourself as a "victim" is as bizarre as it is disgusting.

May peace be with us all.

I respectfully disagree, you do not “appreciate my concerns”.

I am not here to fulfill some desire to feel superior, nor do I have cause to be sanctimonious. I am no better than anyone here, nor smarter, nor more pious, and I have or will never say such.

Also, I am not here offering opinions or scoldings. And any “wisdom” that gets passed along is in the realization and acceptance of truth and reality, none of it is from my self generation. I am lecturing, perhaps, but only doing so as a presentation of the truth. I offer facts only, not conjecture. Do you dispute that?

And it is disturbing that you attempt to dismiss me as just a “nag”. How inconvenient it is for you that I come here and am “…generously dumping your seemingly endless supply of unsolicited wisdom about our culpability for absolutely everything, all over us”.
#46-JPark,
If it is your desire to ignore the truth, and ignore your responsibilities, and ignore the heinousness of your inaction, then I pity you greatly.

And your blatant lie of insinuation that I advocate violence when you say "He doesn't believe in peaceful protest." is asinine. I advocate only Peace. All of my suggested actions for the complacent Americans are forms of Peaceful Protest. You think that by just flippantly commenting on this blog that you are "doing something", when in actuality you are doing nothing. Yes, communicating and discussing issues are important and critical to the resolution and democratic processes.

However, actions must validate the words. If you think that three years of you and your country's murder and carnage and blatant thievery in Iraq is acceptable in a "wait until we talk about it enough to fix it" context, then you have no concept of reality. Because I can guarantee that if those being inflicted upon by your atrocities were YOUR CHILDREN, you would not find such a delay "acceptable". Or would you? I guess I should rephrase that to "YOUR WHITE CHILDREN", we have all seen how much you care about your dark children with your action/inactions regarding Katrina.

Peace.

#44-Impeach,
I agree with your statement regarding the horrific price that Americans, the United States of America, exacts upon the Iraqi and Afghani people. Equally appalling is the horrific price that Israelis exact from its neighbors, and the horrific price that its neighbors then exact from Israel. Although I believe your phrase "There are many children..." is inaccurate. Forgive me if I alter it slightly: "There are AN INSANE AMOUNT OF children that have been KILLED, MAIMED, RAPED, and TERRORIZED in these conflicts." I think that captures the reality a little better.

#51 said; Your 100% correct all bush cares about is heroin production.
Bush has flooded heroin into Europe very cheap its so rediculously cheap school kids can afford it with their pocket money now

Oh my God! You can't be serious...are you? People like you have demonized Bush to the point where you actually believe that he's personally responsible for any and all evil in the world. Do you have any idea how psycho your comments make you appear? According to the left, all Bush cares about is oil production. After all, isn't that what they claim his reasons were for going into Iraq? Maybe all he cares about is his ranch in Texas, because he was there during Katrina, and not in Washington wringing his hands. Perhaps all he cares about is his mountain bike, as he always finds time to ride it....

Ok, I have to say it. Humanist, while I am sure we all appreciate your concerns, ENOUGH ALREADY! You have been 'contributing' here long enough to know that the majority of us here, care VERY much about what is happening all over the world, right now. Your endless 'scolding', as if you were in some way 'above' us all, somehow, is really making me tired. I am sure you are quite fond of pointing out what you consider to be the shortcomings of others, as well as generously dumping your seemingly endless supply of unsolicited wisdom about our culpability for absolutely everything, all over us. But enough is enough! We get your point, there is no way we could have missed it. So please, either change your subject, or find another group in need of your lectures. Nobody likes a nag.
