CNN video correspondent, Karl Penhaul, follows a family that had been mistakenly caught in an Israeli air strike. The doctor treating the family says that there is phosphorus in the weapons that cause extremely painful burns on it’s victims.

Lebanon president says Israel uses phosphorous arms

PARIS, July 24 (Reuters) – Lebanon’s president accused Israel on Monday of using phosphorous bombs in its 13-day offensive and urged the United Nations to demand an immediate ceasefire.

“According to the Geneva Convention, when they use phosphorous bombs and laser bombs, is that allowed against civilians and children?” President Emile Lahoud asked on France’s RFI radio.

An Israeli military spokeswoman said arms used in Lebanon did not contravene international norms.

I can present you 180 examples of US international aggressions…what will you say then? Oh, remember, I think 9/11 was an inside job, I must be crazy, so I probably are making all this up.

Do I agree that the U.S. and Israel are terrorists? Of course I don’t agree with such an immature and morally-repugnant proposition.

Fighting against terrorists that perpetrate grotesque acts of violence against innocent civilians is not terrorism. It is called self-defense, to which every nation of earth has a right.

To argue otherwise is to argue that the policeman uses lethal force against a criminal who is about to murder a citizen is also a criminal.

The fact that George Bush and Tony Blair are cheering Israel might be consolation for Ehud Olmert and the media in Israel, but it is not enough to persuade millions of TV viewers who see the images of destruction and devastation, most of which are not shown to Israeli audiences. The world sees entire neighborhoods that have been destroyed, hundreds of thousands of refugees fleeing in panic, homeless, and hundreds of civilians dead and wounded including many children who have nothing to do with Hezbollah.

We’ve been here before, more than once. Wars began with broad national approval and ended with a great crisis. Those who bask now in the consensus should know that nothing lasts forever. The war will become an imbroglio. When it becomes apparent that the air force is not enough, the ground invasion that has already begun will intensify. The cliche about the Lebanese quagmire will be revalidated, and when the soldiers are killed, as is already happening daily, in house to house hunting, the protests will rise and divide society.

And by savages…are you referring to the people that invented algebra, soap, mirrors, telescopes? While Israelis invented … well … Israel!

French President Jacques Chirac has become the latest Western leader to speak out against an American attack on Iraq.
He condemned US threats to attack Iraq unilaterally, saying that a United Nations mandate should be sought for military action.

We are beginning to see the temptation of legitimising the unilateral and preventive use of force – this development is worrying

The United States, France, and the rest of the civilized result must be staunch in their support of Israel and stand together against the forces of terrorist savages like Hezbollah, Hamas, and Al Qaeda.
