As long as the “Media Industrial Complex” retains its enormous power to brainwash, the elites will continue to be able to manipulate the masses. Thank God for the internet!
The forty percent who think we should keep troops in Iraq should go (or encourage their children, relatives, and friends to go) to the nearest recruiting station and sign up. When I see twenty-, thirty-, and forty-year-olds spouting off about “stay the course, I just want to strangle them. Sure, they believe in Bush’s War—from their perch in a comfy recliner in an air-conditioned livingroom.
OH BY THE WAY…. ANNAPOLIS, Md. – Republican Senate candidate Michael Steele on Wednesday called President Bush his “homeboy,” reversed course on having the president campaign for him and said he was joking when he described his Republican affiliation as a scarlet letter. – - My god, I can’t stand 99% of politicians.
that’s the 40% who STILL believe WMDS are there & Bin Laden & Hussein are pals blah blah blah. The most powerful nation on earth is proving once again it has the most gullible citizens.
If only our Congressmembers and Senators would start listening to the will of the people. I suspect that they might have a stronger sense of urgency if one of their family members was actually placed in harm’s way. The same holds true for Bush and Cheney’s daughters and Karl Rove’s son and Donald Rumsfeld’s son, also.
So, the question is, how much of a sane foreign policy can you have when so many people believe the earth is flat, in the tooth fairy & the unicorn?
Even if today the majority of Americans believe BushCo is doing the wrong thing, I’m willing to bet that this percentage can swing the other way if, say, Osama is killed, or fear returns with a terrorist attack inside our borders.
The responses to the poll were very contradictory.
While 40% oppose the setting a timetable for leaving Iraq (and presumably in favor of an undefinite stay), a full 72% think the Iraq war is making the US image in the world worse.
How can someone want to stay in a situaation that makes them look worse? The mind boggles.
I’d hate to have one of those 40% as a guest. They apparently don’t realize that we are this point guests of the Iraqi gov… and the premier has asked the US to start packing.
The fact remains, our soldiers in Iraq are stuck right in the middle of Iran, Syria, Israel, Pakistan (and don’t think for a minute that Musharef will stay in power much longer, and guess who will then lead that country – can you say AL QUAIDA?). The middle east is going to blow up like a powder keg, and our soldiers are sitting ducks.
this is what bushwhack wanted all along. he is not american. he is a f. nazi. he is NOT christian. he studies the black society. these pricks need to be wiped out.
Chase can only chase his own tail…let him join the ranks of the brave and fight for his beliefs, if he has any…then again he may be one of those freaks that work for the pentagon’s special unit of bloggers. I know and have spotted quite a few! Sickening bastards!
Has there been shift in numbers??? I would have thought reading Think Progress reports that a measly 30% of Americans support no publicly acknowledged timetable for Iraq? Hmmm….
This is a pure opinion. Why one the opinion of the “wise†and the other of the “brain dead
No no, opinion is always brought up by Republicans, “everyone has a opinion” they say, this is because a person who is wrong needs to have everything as an opinion, therefore they most hairbrained, stupid idea or ideology is just an “opinion”. Which brings me to the answer to your question to why one “opinion” is wise and the other brain dead? Because some of us read books. No, that’s the short answer, the real answer is there IS TRUTH and LIES in this world still and you LIARS want everything to be “opinion” because then there will be no TRUTH, it’s just “opinion”. “Opinions” “Opinions” There is right and wrong. We can’t both be right. One person knows he’s right because he is educated, and the other person (Republicans) wants everything to be an “opinion” so no one can be right, and obliterate the idea that there is TRUTH.
You didn’t say how many of the 56% “wanting a timetable scheduling our withdrawal from Iraq were incarcerated. (Incarcerated people tend to LIKE timetables….they can see the end of the tunnel….)
40% love Bush and are certified brain dead > lol.
July 27th, 2006 at 10:37 amI don’t even know if GDUB knows how to put together a timetable, literaly!

I have no faith in what these polls mean….
July 27th, 2006 at 11:00 amI wish I could kick those 40% in the ass then send them to fight alongside troops in Iraq!!!
July 27th, 2006 at 11:05 amSomething like 80% of Iraqi’s feel the US should set a timetable to leave.
Maybe we should listen to them for once….
July 27th, 2006 at 11:09 ammust be the same 40% of clueless dolts who fail to recognize that the entire world disrepects Bush

More intellectual superiority from the TP crowd. This is even less justifed than the WMD question from yesterday (or the day before, whatever).

July 27th, 2006 at 11:41 amChase,
July 27th, 2006 at 11:50 amUmmmm,
a.) Osama Bin Missing?
b.) Eye off the ball?
c.) Invaded wrong country?
d.) Dropped ball?
e.) All of the above?

July 27th, 2006 at 3:13 pmThe old 60% vs 40%. 60% of America is sane and the other 40% are Psycopaths. THat’s pretty scary that 40% of the population is crazy.
