This really isn’t news. At least I already KNEW that.

  2. DrSinker says:

I think they could have left off the “to implement” part. The Bush admin has simply been “slow”, period.

  3. madashell says:

I keep mentioning this, but how many people know, or care?

My senators in Washington State wrote a bill to have EVERY SHIPPING CONTAINER CHECKED BEFORE THEY REACH OUR PORT CITIES. That bill DIED in the repuklican house.

This issue is very important to EVERY PORT CITY in this country.

  4. madashell says:

The thought that they want another terrorist attack on this country is plain as day. For some twisted reason they think that we the people will once again rally around these dangerous fools.

They might be right:-( Mind you, it could be pure incompetence … when have thee halfwits accomplished anything on time?

  6. madashell says:

Think about it more – how about this scenario – this is like a non issue to them, and for the life of me I try to find some reasoning for it. And what I come up with is they were complicit or even the planners of 911. Ban my comment if you want. I for one don’t doubt for a minute that these people are capable of it.

  7. bones says:

I’m sorry I think you misquoted that headline, it should have been :

THE BUSH ADMINISTRATION HAS BEEN SLOW TO IMPLEMENT INTELLIGENCE SEEN AS CRITICAL TO PREVENTING ANOTHER 9/11

  8. Sharon Cox says:

Dear Madashell, not much is going to get done. Not many days left in session and the representatives will not put up any kind of a fight. How many in the press or our representatives are even mentioning the fact that DUBI is indeed up and running.. The public is not getting informed about what is truly going on, instead we are being force fed more war propaganda form the reich winged media about the Israel backed and supported war with our bombs….They are making our country use to more of the same…Show them enough horror on the tube and instill enough fear to back up “over there instead of here” and the sheep follow every word…..As usual, except from code pink the silence from the left is defening…….Out of here for awhile……Sitting in front of the computer and wading through tons of troll and roach posts is accomplishing nothing for me or for Peace…..I’m taking my signs and my tennis shoes and gonna hit the road with who ever is like minded and try to make a diffrence……..Blessings all. Play Nicely….Demand Peace now……

  9. Ron Garrett says:

I can only come up with two plausible explanations for the Bush Administration’s lack of enthusiasm for real intelligence and security reform.

The first is that they are guilty of a treasonous degree of ineptitude and indifference to gaping holes in our security.

The second is that they considered 9/11 a successful operation and may want to do it again.

    October surprise anyone?

Although I wouldn’t be surprised, they’d have a very hard time convincing the American public (as dumb as they are) that we were too incompotent to thwart a 2nd attack. After all the bullshit illegal activity they conduct in the name of National Security? That shit wont fly, and I suspect you’d have some massive protests over the current administration’s lack of ability to protect us AGAIN.

  12. Brando says:

I think the headline should read “BUSH SLOW TO IMPLEMENT INTELLIGENCE”. That would capture the whole story, me thinks…

  13. DrSinker says:

    OT – Coulter apparently has said that Bill Clinton exhibits latent homosexuality. Why? Because he’s in love with himself. You know, like all homosexuals are. Check it out;

This started with something off-air, so it appears she really is a complete wacko. Not that there was ever much doubt…

    OT but, quite amusing:

Michael Brown Reveals All in a Playboy Interview

    ——————————————————————————–

Brownie, you give a heckuva interview! Former FEMA chief Michael Brown unloads about his post-Katrina downfall in the August issue of Playboy — calling himself a “scapegoat,” warning that the nation is even “less-prepared” for this year’s hurricane season, and sharing some PG-13 opinions of former colleagues.

    · On Rep. Gene Taylor (D-Miss.), accusing him in a hearing of not comprehending the devastation: “For that little twerp to claim I didn’t understand death and suffering — he can just bite me, for all I care.”

    · On President Bush saying the levee breaches were unexpected: “He doesn’t have an incredible command of the English language.”

    · On DHS boss Michael Chertoff ordering him out of the field: “I am so mad at myself for not saying ’screw you.’ ”

    · On Bush calling him “Brownie”: “It’s typical of the president. He’s a cheerleader . . . How many people in the world do you think have ever called me Brownie? . . . When he used that nickname, a lot of people in the media went, Is he an insider?”

    · On his much-mocked prior job with the International Arabian Horse Association: “Dealing with horses’ asses taught me how to deal with the federal government.”

watch out folks, the reichwing is probably planning another 9/11.

  16. katy says:

    …critical to preventing another 9/11…

i’m pretty sure this is the object… that is, to ALLOW another attack…
    it’s gonna happen… no doubt about that…

If it does, can we finally storm the castle with pitchforks and put them in the gallows for their unbelievable ineptitude?

i’m there… let me know if you need a ride from illinois…

  19. bs says:

    can it be right NOW!!!

  20. katy says:

you all realize that congress is gone for 5 weeks…
can you imagine what this cabal can do in that time?

the latest turnoil in the ME is excuse enough… a great diversion too… something will come up and iran will be linked… dubya will declare an extention of the 2nd front of the war on terror and attack iran… and it’ll be nukular too…

crazy huh… randi was speculating yesterday and i can’t argue with any of it… i don’t put anything past these criminals… planned chaos… easier to steal that way – and they are stealing…

  21. Jay Randal says:

Bush Regime is slow to do anything, so no surprise here > lol.

  22. Evil Spaniard says:

The Bush administration has been “slow to implement” major changes to intelligence sharing…

It’s hard to share what they lack so badly.

  23. Keith H. says:

They did nothing to discourage 9-11 and their only thoughts before and after have been how they can capitolize and benefit from the situation.

They whole-heartedly welcome their next ‘pearl harbor’ event.

Anyone that attempts to hold them responsible for anything, including the jobs that they are being paid to do, represent their enemies.
That would be about 90% of the american public.
So . . . . . exactly who are they fighting during their ‘war on terrah’?
That’s right, anyone who thinks they should be less than above all laws and have less than unrestricted access to the Unites States Treasury for as far as the eye can see.
They are organized crime at the highest level.

  24. Marie says:

Is this news a surprise to anyone?!

  25. Jake says:

Damn, I was going to say that they don’t want the right hand to know what the left is doing, but everyone beat me to it. Someone in part of the shadow govt (you know all those unelected folks that somehow have permanent careers in the executive branch) sees intelligence reform as a bad thing for them.

  26. Rebel With A Cause says:

Thje government of Bushco is slow to do anything. Look how long it took them before they realized that people should be removed from Lebanon.

Look how long it took Bush to make a response to the Israeli slaughter of innocent Lebanese.

Look at Katrina and perhaps you will see why. The next disaster, well, it will be no better in terms of reaction time.

  27. Bluedog49 says:

How does a libertarian conservative fight the war on terror? How does one who is against any corporate regulation get shipping companies to check more containers or chemical companies to add security? It doesn’t look like saying “please” has worked too well.

“Complicit” meaning associated with or participating in a questionable act or a crime. “Greatly successful operation” to begin to reach their goals, so plainly demonstrated for the whole world to see. And most of all, treasonous. Frankly, it’s the only thing that makes sense. I think the American people (and the world) have been subjected to a whole lot of smoke and mirrors.

  29. DieNowForPeace says:

The proper headline should read “slow to impotent“.

  30. Jackie says:

Let’s see Bush, Cheney and Rove leaked the CIA’s name to Novak. Yes Plame was a active covert agent working in Iran. So now we need intelligence funny as all the agents are at risk for their names being leaked by the White House. Who would want to work in a covert job where the President of the United States would leak their name to cover up a lie to invade Iraq. Why put your life at risk for a government that would let you hang. Now other countries can’t trust the US because of the lies.
