now why would I stop a war that is making me so much money?
I all ready know I can’t win any other office, so let’s make hay while we got it, and do some elective surgery on the federal reserve!
Rethuglicans think nothing about our sons and daughters who are dying in the searing heat of Iraq. ReichWingNuts think nothing about the hundreds of thousands of innocent people they have killed during this illegal occupation of Iraq.
Stay the course == More death and destruction for everyone but themselves
Bill Frist is a good example of stupidity in action – he knew Terri Schiavo was alert and he knows things are going so well under the curent plan he stakes his reputation on continuing the plan. Of course his kids aren’t dying there so FU America.
Hello, My name is Spc. Patrick Ziegler from U.S. Central Command. While it is not my place to get involved with any political debates or discussions, I would like to invite your readers to visit the U.S. Central Command website at http://www.centcom.mil . The CENTCOM site, especially the News Room, is a great place to get up-to-date information about what is going on not only in Iraq but all of CENTCOM’s Area of Responsibility and the Global War on Terror.
I’ve been trying to get something up on this blog for a while now about this new movie that is premiering today in NYC, Tampa, Austin, Chicago, and Kansas City. It’s by Aaron Russo, “AMERICA: Freedom to Fascism”, and it rocks. If you think this country is screwed up, watch the film. I saw it and I felt physically ill afterwards.
And again the fascist message is again Iraq is the center of the fight on world wide terrorism, don’t allow them to set the agends, IRAQ HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH TERRORISM.
The War on Terror is code for kill lots of Muslims in revenge for 9/11. That is how Iraq is part of the war on terror. It is a success from the Bush perspective of the Culture of Life because we inadvertently set in motion a killing engine in Iraq where Muslims kill each other so we don’t have to.
That’s all these assholes have to say when someone calls them on their BS.
Has anyone else noticed how superficial and shallow his responses are? Why do they even bother with thses sideshows? Anyone with room temperature IQ knows every answer he’s going to give.
#12, since you are in the military, who are bing wasted and destroyed by the policies of the right, don’t you think it is more your place than most people’s to get involved in this debate? Your rights as an American were not turned in with your civvies.
Hope you get through the war with a minimum of damage.
Staying the course is necessary if the US wants to establish a permanent military presence in the middle east. And maintain the Bush administration’s perpetual war, which while bad for the country and world at large, is good business for people like Bush, Cheney, and all the oil companies and war manufacturers and accompanying CEOs and investors.
There’s a great political drinking game that a few of us like to play while watching press conference footage. Every time the word “terror” is spoken, you chug-a-lug.
#12 Spc Ziegler; WRONG! WRONG! WRONG!. It IS your place to question authority. “I was just following orders” was not an acceptable defense in the Nuremberg trials. Read some recent history.- the Vietnam war. There were indeed a resistance movement in the active duty military(I was there). If you can, see the current release movie ‘Sir, No Sir!’ (free to active duty personnel) on their website(same name as movie). Learn about G.I. underground papers, organisations such as Active Duty GIs against the war, and Vietnam Veterans Against the War. There is an excellent book re-released on the topic by David Courtright Soldiers In Revolt:GI Resistance During the Vietnam War.- from Haymarket Books. Peace/Make Love Not War.
Ziegler, some GIs have gone to Canada applying for political asylum/refugee status which is in the Canadian courts the last I heard. If the GIs win their case you might consider going there. Anyone, can you give an update on how the Canada courts are ruling? I have not been keeping close tabs on it myself, as I’m in my 50s and served in the Vietnam war.
Zooey, who is centcom? never heard of them, but if they’re the admin’s goons, maybe I should give them a one finger salute. I mean, what are they going to do? send me to Vietnam?
Heh. I’d like to see them try to send you back. I have no idea who centcom is, Ho Chi Minh, but Impeachcheneythenbush seems to know. I decided to wave ALL my fingers at whomever might be watching, because I’m sick of TP deleting my shi…comments. ;)
Since Sen. Frist is leaving the Senate come this January, then he can join the military and go fight in Iraq, until he comes back in a body bag or legless!
To the tune of Camptown ladies; Your’e going home in a body bag, doo dah doo dah, your’e going home in a body bag o doo dah day. shot between the eyes, shot between the thighs, you’re going home in a boddy bag o doo dah day.
Post 32 Ho > Iraq needs doctors badly, so Frist being a former surgeon means he should be sent to a hospital in Baghdad for the rest of his life > maybe operating on hundreds of seriously injured Iraqis daily might change his hard heart, or perhaps he would love cutting off legs and arms?
#35 Jsy; first order of things here. Frist needs an emergency enema– with a hand grenade. With that- I will sign off for the night.Good nigh and good luck.
The course that runs where? I hear of this course alot. No one knows where it is, who started it, or how to get off, like the course of a rambling drunk, veering, falling, stumbling, never quite sober it veers between pathetic to tedious madness…death and destruction it drives drunkenly over innocent people crying collateral damage as it sets course for another innocent group of humans.
Good GOD, DEAR GOD! get these people out of Office, Please I BEG of YOU!
I find it both funny and distressing that EVERYTHING this idiots have done has blown up in their faces. And they railed at the people who told them it was going to be a disaster. Limbaugh, Hannity, O’Reilly, Frist, Bush, Cheney, Coulter – all called the dissenters “ignorant of the facts”, “idiots”, “liars”, “traitors”. And now we see the Bush Crime family was 100% wrong on the war, energy, taxes, etc but still insist on ridiculous platitudes instead of problem solving. This is no way to run the US. Don’t get me wrong BushCo is making plenty of money with Oil Stocks, defense contractors and they’ll retire and live large while we finally fail to scrape by with gas at $5 a gallon. And one of the first acts of a democratic congress should be a retroactive tax on war profiteers, taxing Big Oil, Haliburton, defense contractors -esp if theu had a contract they didn’t fufill recoup 100% of the contract price from them. We paid 100 million for hospitals, you finished none, we take 100 million out of your corporation. That will balance the budget.
#s 29 and 30 – Centcom is Central Command. I am a babyboomer and as such remember the Cold War era, Vietnam, the pro-peace movement, and am also an Army vet. It saddens me to say that I am ashamed of what this country’s “leaders” are doing to us — not only here at home but also throughout the world.
#39 Lisa: The acronyms are confusing-especially when one has been out of the service for decades. Thanx for the info. & about what our “leaders” are doing, amen to what you said.
Staying the course at home is another matter. We are headed for a police state for real now. Bush is floating a bill this weel to allow police state powers, the kind the old Soviets had to detain without trial any American. This is no joke and it has to be stopped. Write your Congressperson now.
[...] What a difference one election makes. In July, Frist said the conservative national security message for 2006 was “We’re for staying the course in Iraq and the war on terror.” And as recently as last month, Frist said the U.S. was making “tremendous progress” in Iraq. I’m confident that we are making tremendous progress in hunting down and killing the murderers of Islamic fascism, in stabilizing the democratic governments of Afghanistan and Iraq and in winning the generational struggle that is the War on Terror. The tailspin course?
July 28th, 2006 at 1:28 pmHow original of him.

July 28th, 2006 at 1:37 pmHe diagnosed the situation in Iraq from a videotape and decided it was A-OK.
July 28th, 2006 at 1:38 pmKeep saying it, Bill. We know your “stay the course” is no plan and it’s continuing to kill our troops for no reason…just keep saying it.

Also, ‘Culture of Life’? That’s the best one I’ve heard all week.
