- – By that reckoning, we have at least three more years of war in Iraq. Terrific.
so what about these polls. The regime ignores the will of the people. until the populace takes to the streets and advances the interests of the country as defined by the constitution its chaos as usual
Tonight, allegations of a cover up twenty-three years ago, in connection with confessed Ark-La-Tex serial killer Robert Browne.
The sister of one of Browne’s possible victims is speaking exclusively to News 12, saying Browne could have been caught years ago.
Kathy Cole is raging, not only about how her sister was murdered, but even more about how she believes authorities handling the investigation, in the earlier eighties, tried to cover up the crime.
And yet the Military claims that we may be Iraq until 2016. Have fun dealing with that, Bush. If we’re still in Iraq in 2008, the Dems will take back the White House without question.
right now in america the will of the people is not only being ignored its not even acknowledged by the WH, Congress & the Supreme Court. In other words we have repression. Other countries threw their repressors aside (France 1789, Russia 1917) . The lazy ass americans of course do not realize that they are metaphorically being slowly boiled to death.
I don’t think Iraq has been that much like Vietnam. It’s a very different situation. There are certainly many parallels regarding how the war has been “sold” to Joe average American (fight them over there instead of here, etc) but I don’t think there’s much comparison in terms of the actual war.
What we have at present appears to be largely sectarian violence, with US troop casualties on the decline (because Iraqi on Iraqi fighting has increased). I’m no historian, but I don’t recall a similar situation in Vietnam.
Unfortunately, I don’t think W has the mettle to pull us out. And the Republicans won’t stand up to him. Heck, let’s face it – even the Dems can’t get their ducks in order on when we should pull out. Maybe things will change if they take both the Senate and House in November, but I’m not actually sure.
I simply cannot Get my head round the other 48% are they nutz, blood thirsty murdering thiefs do not have no brains at all ?????selfish they want the oil stolen
Bush has already said he expects the next president to have to deal with Iraq – exhibiting his total irresponsibility and unwilingness to admit his failures.
#8 “americans of course do not realize that they are metaphorically being slowly boiled to death.”

‘America’ is not, by definition, a group of war-mongering, knuckle-dragging, murderous neoconsevative, misleading democratis, and bush crime family sychophantssuch as yourself. the poll shows that there are a sufficient number of people that do not agree with the ‘america’ you sick bastards have created.
Republican President Richard M. Nixon didn’t “cut and run” from Vietnam until 1973. He learned that trick from Republican Dwight D. Eisenhower who “cut and ran” from Korea in 1953.
I have a hard time wrapping my senile old brain about all the hoopla about ending the Middle East violence by getting Israel to kowtow to the same terrorists beating the shit out of us in Iraq. The last time I looked at a map (albeit not the same map DUHbya uses–Click on Clyde) Iraq was in the Middle East and there sure as hell is violence there. How can any thinking individual condemn Israel and concur with Bush when they are supposedly doing the same thing? It is really as most of us knew all along: Israel is fighting Arab/Muslim terrorists; Bush is stealing Iraqi oil and our tax dollars (corporate profits for big oil and Halliburton). The same old lip service is getting tiresome. We must impeach the whole bunch and quit feeding the Saudis and Israel will do the job right.
With all the high level talk about the War on Terror and the War on Drugs, overlooked is the fact that terror and drugs are concepts. Disagreements about concepts are csettled through debate and diplomacy. Wars are, by definition, fought against people with the intent of killing those same people. The side that kills the most people wins the war. Every body seems to abhor the killing of women and children in a war. Being a man I would outwardly agree but given the choice I would do what was necessary to save my own big butt. And this concept was developed when men were men and fought one another. Now they fight the Government so they can marry one another. What with all the equal opportunity BS, Bush twins excepted, the person pointing the gun, missile, bomb, or WMD, at you may very well be of the female persuasion intent upon wasting your dumb ass. Then there is the old Shit-kicking song that implored mothers not to let their boys grow up to be cowboys (Babs B. should have paid attention). Now it is drug dealers and terrorists. The one sure way to insure that they do not grow up to be terrorists and drug dealers is to see that they don’t grow up. War is hell! People get killed. Give up on the bull shit about the “War” on terror. Call it what it is: Murder for Oil. Or declare it a war against Arabs and Muslims, which is what it really is, kill enough of them of all sexes and ages until the rest of them give up and never face East again. Then come home to peace , gasoline at $1.50 per gallon, Bushco in jail, no tax cuts for the rich, no outlandish corporate profits, and the Diamondbacks and Mariners in the world series.
Uh, oh. More Vietnam yearning.

#25 – Clyde. Sorry my friend, but that is one of the more irrational statements I’ve seen here on this board. I checked out your website, and while amusing, doesn’t seem to have much of a purpose other than sarcasm (with the cartoons and all). I suspect you are very young, like 16 or younger. Am I correct?
We aren’t leaving Iraq until Rumsfeld and Cheney have drained the Treasury. These men will spend eternity listening to the wails of the children they so horribly subjected to the misery they inflicted with their selfish and foolish “war” in Iraq. I hate these people.
You claim “that” is one of the more irrational statements you have seen. Please elucidate rather than use a vague pronoun for a general denunciation. What part of the statement don’t you understand and what part of the statement is untrue? It may upset your sensitivities but, believe it or not that was the purpose. Think for your self man instead of, as they say, drinking the kool-aid. You are very perceptive about my web site. The only purpose is “Bush Bashing” with sarcasm. Your compliment about my age is refreshing as I am near 16, for the 5th time. We have a 12 year-old GREAT-Granddaughter. So I guess you got one out of three–not too bad but keep on reading and you may improve. I have lived through every war the US has been in since 1933 and have participated in all except the first one and last two Bush League wars. My opinion of war still stands. Irrational or not, war is intended to kill people and should not be an excuse to line corporate coffers.

Well said Clyde. Here’s another making a similar statement:
“Until the latest of our world conflicts, the United States had no armaments industry. American makers of plowshares could, with time and as required, make swords as well. But now we can no longer risk emergency improvisation of national defense; we have been compelled to create a permanent armaments industry of vast proportions. Added to this, three and a half million men and women are directly engaged in the defense establishment. We annually spend on military security more than the net income of all United States corporations.
This conjunction of an immense military establishment and a large arms industry is new in the American experience. The total influence — economic, political, even spiritual — is felt in every city, every State house, every office of the Federal government. We recognize the imperative need for this development. Yet we must not fail to comprehend its grave implications. Our toil, resources and livelihood are all involved; so is the very structure of our society.
In the councils of government, we must guard against the acquisition of unwarranted influence, whether sought or unsought, by the militaryindustrial complex. The potential for the disastrous rise of misplaced power exists and will persist.
We must never let the weight of this combination endanger our liberties or democratic processes. We should take nothing for granted. Only an alert and knowledgeable citizenry can compel the proper meshing of the huge industrial and military machinery of defense with our peaceful methods and goals, so that security and liberty may prosper together.” Military-Industrial Complex Speech, Dwight D. Eisenhower, 1961
Cheney’s war in Iraq went exactly as planned–all the oil is still in the ground in Iraq and the price has gone from about $20/barrel in 1999 to about $75/barrel today. Further instability in the Middle East will spike oil prices even higher. Cheney and the neocons don’t need any more money (though they will eventually drain the Treasury into their supporters’ pockets) they are after the power controlling the oil taps will give. People are dying in Irag and Lebanon so Cheney can be the emporer of the oil.
