Sistani warns U.S. of regional war.

By Nico Pitney on Jul 31st, 2006 at 5:26 pm

Sistani warns U.S. of regional war.

“Islamic nations will not forgive the entities that hinder a cease-fire,” Grand Ayatollah Ali al-Sistani said today “in a clear reference to the United States.” The Iraqi leader added that “dire consequences will befall the region” if a cease-fire is not agreed upon. Last week, it was reported that Sistani was “on the verge of withdrawing his tacit but vital support” for U.S. efforts in Iraq.

Do all the conservatives feel vindicated now that Bush has succeeded in “transforming” the mideast?

the sound you hear coming from the oval office that sounds tremendously like a party is not really a party…

further, it is not true that a regional war is what we wanted all along… it is not true that an increased war would mean that the arm’s-traders will make more money… oh, and the price of oil, it will not change one bit with an expanded war…

in fact, an extended war will pay for itself. no really, it will….

boy boy, get me another 7-up…thanks. *burp*

America in general is being played by a far more complex game in the middle east and falling for it hook, line and sinker

    America wants to leave Iraq
    America will leave Iraq
    America cant leave Iraq

the Equation that turns sand into blood ?

your all being played by the Russians, China and iran and the Shanghai corp , yet you cannot see it ???

  8. Tobey Tall says:

    10. Thats good then Bluedog49 better than what I imagined 48% would not see this

  9. tony snow says:

though it may be true that 7 of 10 americans despise us and understand that what we are doing is evil, this white house does not follow polls!

the president has said he will be spending his ‘political capital’ and if he wants to begin world war iii or iv or whatever, he shall do so…

now, rest assured, to the 3 of 10, the tax cuts will continue, the towel-headed will be killed, and, we look forward to your vote in 2008…

remember the front page of the London Daily Mirror after the chimp was “elected” in 2004. It simply asked how could 58,112,345 americans be so dumb.

  11. bones says:

Bush talks about not alerting our enemies to “secret” phone taps and banking record reviews. Hey GW, our “friends” and enemies can see we are stretched way too thin militarily and they have come out of the woodwork to feast on us because we can’t fight on every front in the region. No one wants to be the friend of the losing side. And we didn’t have to “lose” except for GW and his administration’s stupidity and greed.

Lets work it all out then

1/ your troops are sitting ducks for iran and other middle eastern countries
2/ The wars costing a small fortune and Bankrupting the US
3/ In the End your Country will leave Iraq empty handed ( No Oil)
4/ Bush is making a fool of America
5/ The world sees 48% of American still support mass murder and the Stealing of other countries resources
6/ made aware of American Foreign policies from torture to UN vetoing

    heres some

  13. reality party says:

1/ your troops are sitting ducks for iran and other middle eastern countries

—so? they are all volunteers, and the rest of us are getting rich on oil, tax cuts, selling arms, reconstruction…

2/ The wars costing a small fortune and Bankrupting the US

—so? our special interests are sh9tting out hundreds! it is bankrupting the lower classes of americans, and who really cares about them?

3/ In the End your Country will leave Iraq empty handed ( No Oil)

—so? the less oil, the higher the price–the more profits. and, i think we will manage to suck out as much as we can. as for the iraqi people, who cares? they’ll live–or, they won’t. big deal.

4/ Bush is making a fool of America

—so? we are rich! rich idiots are better than middle-class intellectuals.

5/ The world sees 48% of American still support mass murder and the Stealing of other countries resources

—so? the world doesn’t vote, and, the democrats can’t figure out how to beat us. stealing? perhaps–we like to refer to it as ‘redistribution’.

6/ made aware of American Foreign policies from torture to UN vetoing

—so? the outrage of abu ghraib was mild, and, as for torture, no one will stop us! we do what we want to do.

Well, maybe for the next few months… Then, I think there’s going to be some accountability.

*yawn* yeah, right… we own you, and, you let us do so. you try anything at all and we will ignore you or veto you. we are bringing this world to its knees, and you can’t stop it… even if you win in 2006, the winner of the 2008 election will be pro-war, pro-israel, and pro-business…

Wake up people Bush wants a Middle East war as you see to solve the problem with Israel/Lebanon all he has is Connie Rice playing the piano. Bush wants to draw Iran and Syria to react and have Israel have another mistake that being bombing Syria by accident of course. Notice all the mistakes/accidents lately done only by Israel like a direct bombing of UN peace keepers and then the next mistake bombing woman and children. Oh yes that was were Hezbollah had bombs yet no bombs were found. People please we know the air photo’s are like the ones Powell use to show the UN and the US the location of the WMD see how good that was. This is done to start a war with the Middle East and you can bet Bush is leading the war. Terrorism has nothing to do with it. Terrorist are people who kill, bomb, torture, lie, steal, in prison innocent people and keep people in fear Oh sorry that describes the United States and the new Bush policy.

  21. bones says:

No lets just say it, there is 30% of the American public operating at a kindergarten level. And their leader in the Oval Office hasn’t had his naptime in a long time so he’s cranky and striking out at everyone. It’s really time for a spanking, and come November he’s going to get it.

And what do you get from people on their knees…….a blowjob…..and you already have one of those in the White House….and we all see how that is working out.

the shape of the oval office is perfect for the neocon circle jerk that is no-doubt taking place over the prospect their well planned / instigated world war coming to fruition.

  31. Marie says:

I wonder if Bush ever read Greek mythology – as it describes the human condition.
Bush plays the character Prometheus who stole fire from the gods, when he invaded Iraq. That prompted the sending of Pandora and her box of evils which would plague mankind.
Bush’s hubris in invading Iraq has brought us Pandora’s box in the middle east.

I share this editorial letter once again–Armando

    That Satisfying Glee

    July 30, 2006

What inspire me to write this editorial was that smiling face of Condoleezza Rice’s plastered on the article “Rice sees hope in ending Mideast crisis.” Reading through this article was like wading through wet cement. So in short I’ll cut to the chase: like President Bush, Condoleezza Rice is a failure in resolving this current Middle East disaster. Last Saturday, both of them try to convince the American public that their efforts are the “latest flashpoint in a broader struggle between freedom and terror that is unfolding across the region.” It’s obvious that it’s more of a fuse that they lit. Aside from the mounting dead toll in the hundreds of innocent Lebanese this administration can be credit for an air strike in Qana by the Israelis which now adds 56 women and children killed this Sunday. Presently, a supposed 48 hour truce is being discussed. It won’t happen. Rice had refused to persuade Israel to halt its attack from its inception therefore the killing must continue. Thus explain that smiling face of hers: it isn’t the “birth pains of the Middle East” for peace that’s unfolding but a stillborn fate for the entire region.
