All you've got to do is look at US Military history in these types of conflicts. We go in with good intentions and kick butt at first, then we get bogged down and start playing with words. If this isn't another Viet Nam, I don't know what could be. You've got gorilla fighting us using hit and run or bomb and hide tactics, and our Generals shade the truth to hide the own incompetence. As I recall General Westmorland, God rest his soul, kept, "Seeing light at the end of the tunnel" and asking for more troops to quail the violence in Saigon. Now Abizaid, "Doesn't think we will have civil war", and is asking for more troops in Baghdad to quail the violence. Like Yogi Barra said, "It's da-javu all over again", but Rumsfeld, Gen Pace and the other moron at the Pentagon can't see it. I'm sorry but it doesn't take another 2500 dead, and 10,000 wounded for me to see the obvious. It wouldn't be so bad if the diplomates hadn't screwed their end up so bad. I have a simple solution to the in fighting in the government: You divide the parilment up into the three groups, sunni, Kurd, and Shitte, with each one holding 50 seats. Then you require a 76 vote majority to approve legislation, and have a rotating Prime Minister who serves for 16 Months, and hold elections every two years for the legislature and 4 for Prime Minister. Then you have 2 Vice presidents one from each party or group. Their job is to work with their group to get things done. I could have told them that this would happen.
