Israel suffered its “deadliest single blow”

when a Hezbollah rocket killed 12 Israeli soldiers today. Sixteen Lebanese were killed from Israeli attacks and the speaker of Lebanon’s Parliament rejected the U.N. draft proposal “because it did not meet several Lebanese demands.”

Supposedly the war started because 2 Israeli solders were abducted by Hezbollah gunmen, then Israel launched an all out air blitz on Lebanon, so Hezbollah fired rockets back at Israel, and now its becoming a slaughter on both sides! Israeli PM Olmert: Was it worth the death of over 50 Israeli soldiers to avenge the capture of 2 others? And, how do you know they are still alive, since Israeli jets have bombed houses, cars, etc. that could have had the 2 soldiers inside of them? Was it worth the destruction of Lebanon and the rockets raining down on Israel daily? This war is so vulgar that it makes me nauseated!

I have yet to see how the violence in the Middle East can be ended by ignoring the Bushco fiasco in Iraq and calling a cease fire for Israel only and not the Lebanon Arabs. There will never be a cease fire in the Middle East as long as there are Arabs and/or Jews and/or Bushco’s oil pirates there. There are two options for the US: (1) Get the Hell out and leave them alone, or (2) Choose sides, get the Hell in and kick some serious Arab or Jew butt. History does repeat itself: The Middle East burns while King George the Dumb fiddles with himself and King George the Old and Uncle Dick steal the oil.

1) The soldiers were captured. Civilians get abducted…soldiers get captured.

2) The solders were captured IN LEBANON.

The deaths should be put in context: Hezbollah simply managed to hit a reservist military unit preparing to change to active status rather than the normal civilians that the rockets hit. They didn’t die in combat.

Hezbollah does seem to be using more lethal rockets at this point though. I guess both sides want to inflict as much damage in the short time they have left before a real resolution halts the fighting.

And no, I think the current resolution is designed to stall the end of hostilities by not calling for withdrawals. So we’ve probably got another week at least.

Yes Trip the Israeli soldiers were apparently captured in Lebanon, but our news media does NOT want that to be widely known! Israel needed a pretext for their war, so they created a justification for their assault on Lebanon! Now the conflict has spun out of control as most wars always do eventually! How many will die before it’s all over is anybody’s guess!

Israel is hijacked and acts as a proxy for the USUK axis against its own best interests. Details of what excuse Israel chose to prepare the ground for USUK are irrelevant.

The powerful will always say and perversly believe that those less-privilidged and in need of compassion are savages or nothing more than animals, and without feelings. That is how they justify their terrible treatment of them. To say otherwise is an outrage and in itself an offense worthy of the same treatment. The saddest part of all of this is the fact that most of those being mutilated and killed would never even have thought of hurting anyone like this. Might is right is not only ugly, it is sickening, and the only policy that the USA and its allies seems to know. Diplomacy requires sitting down with the affected parties and negotiating a compromise. You know no one in BushCo has any idea what diplomacy is. How arrogant to draft a UN Resolution without even bothering to talk to the Lebanese. I saw Condi explain this on TV, she said she had talked with Olmert a “couple of times” and “neither side” got everything it wanted. trange then how Lebanon rejected the resolution within minutes of it’s announcement, I mean since Condi had “talked to him all about it a couple of times”.

It’s absolutely ridiculous to even suggest that Hezbollah is the aggressor in the current crisis occurring in the Middle East. If Hezbollah took Israeli soldiers then shouldn’t Israel show a little restraint in bombing Hezbollah buildings since its possible the soldiers are inside of them? There retrieval of two soldiers is being used as a pretext to destroy Lebanon as well as kill it’s civilians.

800+ civilians have died thus far with 1500+ injured. If you compare the American news media (Fox News, ABC, CNBC, MSNBC, CBS, etc.) to international news sources such as the BBC or CBC you realize that in the USA you’re being horse fed filtered and biased news.

This part is the deal breaker – from the text of the U.N. Resolution:

OP1. Calls for a full cessation of hostilities based upon, in particular, the immediate cessation by Hizbollah of all attacks and the immediate cessation by Israel of all offensive military operations;

Note how Hizbollah has to stop all attacks, while Israel is merely called upon to stop all ‘offensive military operations’. Since Israel maintains that all their actions so far have been in defense of Israel, they give up absolutely nothing.

This was nothing but a ridiculous poison pill proffered by our buddy Bolton. Hizbollah accepts it, and Israel gets to pound on them for free, and if they retaliate, they’re in the wrong. Reject it, and they’re decired for rejecting peace overtures.

It stinks, but we should be used to the stench by now…

Lebanon can’t accept the terms, Israeli is given implicit authority to continue to illegally occupy Lebanaon and kill Lebanese civilians. When Lebanon rejects the resolution, BushCo will unequivically state Lebanon, Hezbolah, Syria, and Iran as violating the UN resolution, and that will be the green light for BushCo to start a new war with all of the above. They’ll probably trot out some dead Americans ( US soldiers in Iraq, cover story Iranian retaliation for Lebanon) to whip up support for tactical nuke attack against Iran and Syria.

1) The post you referenced expressed disdain for Israel. Anti-Israel does not equal anti-semitism, no matter how much you repeat the lie.

2) My challenge was to find examples for your assertion that liberals were attacking Lieberman because he is Jewish. The post you referenced mentions nothing of Lieberman.
