Other people’s blood always makes these vampires salivate… But don’t dare ask them to donate their own blood to save people’s lives.

    Hypocrisy as usual…

  2. Ho Chi Minh Says:

Why do I get this sick feeling that this whole episode was staged by lapdog Blair to politically help out his master Bush shortly before the election here?

  3. Badmoodman Says:

“Weeks before September 11th, this is going to play big,” said another White House official, who also spoke on condition of not being named… - - A ‘not named source’ is as lame to me as Bush’s strawman arguments. If no one’s on the record or there isn’t corroboration, it’s not worth much.

  4. Badmoodman Says:

Also, oil dropped $2/barrel on the news that this plot was foiled. What BushCo needs to do now is announce about a dozen more foiled terror plots - real or imagined - and pretty soon we’ll have oil down to $50/barrel again.

  5. WORFEUS Says:

    Nico.

You have vision and the rest of the world wears bi-focals.

  6. WORFEUS Says:

Its clear this is just another “convenient” occurance in the War on Terror for the Bush administration and the republican party.

As with all terrorist attacks, plans, threats and plots, they always seem to happen when some republican is down in the polls.

    Take 911 for instance.

Bush was at what, 38 percent give or take a point?

Two days after 911 he was at 89 percent.

He should send Osama a christmas card.

  7. km4 Says:

    FOX News/Opinion Dynamics Poll. Aug. 8-9, 2006. N=900 registered voters nationwide. MoE ± 3.

“Thinking ahead to this November’s elections, if the congressional election were held today, would you vote for the Democratic candidate in your district or the Republican candidate in your district?” [7/11-7/12 results in parenthesis]

    Democrat: 48 (42)
    Republican: 30 (34)
    Unsure: 22 (25)

I am pretty sure this is the largest lead Democrats have held in a generic ballot poll since at least 1982 (and maybe before then).

At 30 percent, it’s clear only the wacko fringes still support the Republican Party.

  8. WORFEUS Says:

But let a few more “terrorist plots” get foiled, and maybe even a few Americans killed in some kind of terrorist attack, and watch those numbers change.

    Most people are suckers.

Just look at Kyra Phillips and Wolf Blitzer, blathering on about this terrorist plot, forgetting that Ned Lamont just beat Joe Lieberman in a heated head to head Democratic race that illustrates a shift in the tide for the republicans.

They eat it up like cake.

    Yellow cake.

  9. beavercleaver Says:

With things beginning to tank on these criminals, you should all be aware that they are capable of replaying 9/11. It would serve their fear interests, and their bottom line quite well. There will be an attack before the November elections, and these snakes will generate enough hatred to catch an uptick in their polls. Everything’s, and I mean EVERYTHING’S political with these cardboard cowboys.

  10. mike Says:

The biggest story of the day and it took TP until 7:30 pm to get anything on their site about it. Oh, I guess that is because it is GOOD NEWS! I suppose you would like the attack to have been carried out and thousands of people dead (no, I really don’t think you want Americans, or any one else for that matter to die). And don’t even try to pretend that you libs would not use their deaths as “a political gain”. As the Iranians and other assorted terrorist nations danced and sang, you would be pointing fingers at Bush. “See, he can’t keep us safe! Elect us and all the terrorists will love us again.” I don’t see this thwarted attempt to be anything for Bush, it is a victory for the civilized world. I don’t hear him taking any credit for it, but all of you KNOW that if it had not been stopped he would have gotten ALL the blame.

  11. mike Says:

I knew that wouldn’t take long. Holy Cow, are you people ever reaching on that one. I guess Rove made the call on when to launch this attempt too, right after Lieberman got beat. What a genius.

  12. Dyan Says:

They knew about this weeks ago. Funny how they decided to “pounce” right after Lamont beat Lieberman.

  13. WORFEUS Says:

Oh look. Its someone calling themselves “mike”.

    Hmmm.

    Hi Mike.

Read any good Al Quaida training manuals lately?

  14. WORFEUS Says:

    You know it Bluedog.

Actually I thought they went to the well one too many times about a year ago, but ok. Nows good too.

People have GOT to see the timing on this.

Ned Lamont was the biggest story of the week. And it was huge. Chris Matthews was actually giddy.

    And then, “POOF”.

    Terrorists.

TP had info about the foiled attack at 9:05am this morning. Check the ThinkFast thread for today.

vote republican and vote for another 911

  20. ericthefool Says:

I thought the same thing when I woke up…another fake terror alert.

Then I asked myself, why I and so many Americans thought this way. It’s failure, and failure only. This administration has failed the American public, the American “Idea”, and true American freedom. No one has any faith in this regime. No one has the patience to let them crap on liberty any longer. They have the nerve to call Hugo Chavez a “dictator”. The nerve to think about going into Iran, preemptively, and the nerve to use national media to lie, cheat, and steal everything that is sacred to “real” Americans. It ends soon!

  21. Keith Olberman is a j*ckoff Says:

Why is it that when a CHRISTIAN in Pat Robertson says that we should assinate Hugo Chavez, liberals go crazy calling him every name in the book. But when MUSLIMS plot to blow up thousands of travelers the libs are not condeming them? I would expect nothing less than the liberals in this socialist / communist website to preach to the MUSLIMS about looooovvveeee, and uuunnndddeeerrrssstttannndddinnnggggg.

  22. George W. Bush Says:

The terrorists hate us because of our freedom, so once I’m done gettin’ rid of our freedoms, there won’t be no more terrorists.

  23. Red Says:

Mr. Jerkoff, why do people like you constantly associate communists/socialists with Islamic fundamentalists? They have about as much in common as the KKK and the NAACP. Actually, you right-wingers are in the same camp with fundamentalists, reactionaries and mossbacks of every kind around the world.

  24. WORFEUS Says:

Hey, uh, what is your name again? Jackass or something like that?

Next time, try breaking the pills in half.

  25. nym@alias.net Says:

Pat Robertson is a christian - who knew?

  26. Keith Olberman is a j*ckoff Says:

No, liberals are socialist, Islamofascists (not Islamic Fundamentalists) are just that…..fascists. It just so happens that the liberals (aka…socialists) really don’t want to identify the islamofacists for what they are. So when they have a knife to your throat chanting to Allah…..don’t say I didn’t warn you.

  27. nym@alias.net Says:

j*ckoff - note even enough conviction to type the whole word.

that’s a republican for you, just armchair idiots.

  28. Keith Olberman is a j*ckoff Says:

Sorry, just wanted to make sure I was politically correct for you libs. Didn’t want to offendddddd anyone…

But if the gloves are coming off…..Keith Olberman is a Grade “A” JACKOFF!

  29. nym@alias.net Says:

there we go, chided just like the follower you are.

when i first that report that republicans were followers, i didn’t think they were that intelligent.

  30. Southwest Bob Says:

Bush/cheney/rove didn’t have anything to do with stopping this potential threat. The British using their brains and skill in really fighting terrorists are responsible. I want to see bush/cheney/rove link this to all of dying that has occurred in Iraq. Surely that’s what forced these terrorists out into the open.

  31. Keith Olberman is a j*ckoff Says:

Not a republican, nor a democrat. I’m not one of you chumps that bows down to the party line.

  32. WORFEUS Says:

    Now THATS funny stuff.

  33. WORFEUS Says:

So tell us, Jackass, do you guys have armbands or just the secret handshake?

  35. WORFEUS Says:

    Ooops.

    Never mind.

    Its just the Pizza dude…

  36. Keith Olberman is a j*ckoff Says:

    What is so funny…..

    Two simple questions….

Q - Is a Islamofacist tactics to cut of the head of the “infadel”?

    A - Yes

Q - Have the proven that they are willing to do it?

    A - See Nick Berg

Q - Would they do it again?

A - Liberals say “no”. If we only talk to them….try to understand them. We need to have diplomatic talks with them.

  37. Keith Olberman is a j*ckoff Says:

    Hey Worefus…

You lose anyone as the result of September 11?

  38. WORFEUS Says:

Actually Mr Jackass, Christians were cutting off Muslim heads about 1700 years ago.

In fact, a famous little Queen named Isabella with her lover Ferdinand cut off 5000 muslim heads in one day for not “confessing Christ”.

Or don’t you read either, like your master?

  39. WORFEUS Says:

That would be a peice of information that would not be for someone like you slim.

  40. Heynow Says:

Did Iraqis stop killing each other now that the terrorist from Pakistan were caught?. I guess Bush had it right after all.

  41. Keith Olberman is a j*ckoff Says:

Do you really think I care what happened 1700 years ago?

Slavery was acceptable in the 19th century, so should we allow it today? Or don’t you read?

  42. Vance Says:

The Dems need to take out a full page ad with this info in as many papers as possible.,it’s the only way the general public who watches 30 minutes of news a day is ever gonna hear about it since the major media outlets will never cover it. The repugs are using this as a weapon and the Dems had muther fuc*ing control this spin or it will be used to bash them out of ever having power or strength again.

  46. Who is John Galt? Says:

“I thought the same thing when I woke up…another fake terror alert.”

Bush and Blair are on vacation. Another “scare the shit out of the American people” or diversion from the whipping Joe took last night? Hell, it’s a twofer.

  47. Badmoodman Says:

Keith Olberman is a Grade “A” JACKOFF! - - Yeah, he probably is. But then, O’Reilly and his ilk are Grade “D” jackoffs.

  48. Zippy the Other Pinhead Says:

Hey, but as Elvis Costello said, “what’s so funny ’bout peace, love and understanding?”

Let’s not feed the trolls, folks — let them go back into their poopy little sandbox and play with each other’s toy soldiers for a while, so us adults can have some civilized conversation about how to make the world a better place for everyone, not just for oil-guzzling Coulter-worshiping kool-aid-drinking tinfoil hatters.

  49. For Truth Says:

I am actually going to have plastic sugery to look more like an Arab, thats how much I love them Muslims and want them to take over so I can be one.

  50. WORFEUS Says:

And by the way Herodotus. Isabella and Ferdinand lived a mere 500 years ago, when they slaughtered 5000 of gods “other children” for not believing what they believed.

  51. WORFEUS Says:

I am not feeding them Zippy.

I am eating them for lunch.

  52. Zippy the Other Pinhead Says:

The Dems need to take out a full page ad with this info in as many papers as possible.

    Comment by Vance — August 10, 2006 @ 8:49 pm

Better yet — all it would take is a letter to the editor of all our local small-town papers. Free and effective, and based on how hot one letter to the editor in MY local small-town paper got our republicrap congressman, putting him on the defensive, that approach obviously works.

Time for the grass roots to start working again rather than just lurking and hoping someone else will take care of bidness…that’s what got us in this bushnik gulag in the first place…

  53. Zippy the Other Pinhead Says:

I know, Worfeus — and an excellent job you’re doing, too! But I just don’t see how you can stomach them — eating even one bite of them for lunch makes me puke my guts out…

  54. Trinary Suka Says:

Hey Keith would it make you happy If I converted to the Jewish ideology?

Sure, I would still be the same person, and think the same as today, I don’t hate the Jewish Ideology nor the Christian Ideology. I follow my own Faith and do not intrude upon others to follow me, why do you want me to follow yours?

Do you want me to eat Italian food and pray to Apollo and the greek Ideology? Kosher foods? Do you want to to pray to Abraham or Solomon, or to jesus or to Adonai? Buddha or to Yahweh? To Yod? Or to Ihesus or to Plato? WTF is wrong with you people???

  55. WORFEUS Says:

Yea but I can eat meat on a stick in Brooklyn too.

  56. Zippy the Other Pinhead Says:

Trinary: you forgot Zeus, Krishna, Thor, Yamato, Kane, and perhaps a few others…including the god of gods, ZIPPY! (no, not me — the other one)

  57. Vance Says:

#55 Zippy…..Right you are and a great idea. I also agree with others that in the time it takes you to respond to the trolls and baitors, you could have fired off just such a letter to your local paper. We must fight friends or we are just as guilty.

  58. Zippy the Other Pinhead Says:

Looks like Mr. Olberman’s jerkoff servicer has decided the water was just a little to rough for her tonight. Or maybe she’s gone back to her poopy sandbox to play with the other little nazis like we said…

I think Jerkass had to go because Karl directed it to some other web site even more in need of Rove-bots than here.

  62. KingCranky Says:

So, Jackoff, let’s see if you can keep up here, and answer a few questions in a way that’s both logical and positive for the draft-dodging, budget-busting ChickenHawk with Delusions of Grandeur, President Jr

How is W keeping us safer from another al-Qaeda attack by shutting down the CIA unit devoted to capturing or killing Usama bin Laden? Also, if the Dems wish to give the GOP all sorts of fits and starts, every dem running for office needs to challenge their GOP opponents to pledge to get that CIA unit up and operating again

Just how did deposing a secular tyrant in Iraq, and replacing him with religious fanatics eager to develop closer ties to their clerical brethren in Iran, keeping us safer from “Islamofascists”?

The really funny thing here is that by election day-AKA The GOP’s Day Of Reckoning-this little stunt by the Administration will be a hazy memory for most people, kind of like all that taunting and gloating from the now rapidly dwindling number of starry eyed True W Believers

Looks like the Brits have learned that “fighting them over there so as not to fight them over here” doesn’t do much to protect London from terrorist attacks, both attempted and successful

And meanwhile, the carnage in Iraq continues unabated, and that’s not going to get any better for W because of this situation

Come to think of it, neither is your trolling going to win anybody back to Dear Leader’s side, no matter how fervently you desire otherwise

And really, doesn’t it just suck knowing you do NOT represent the political or social mainstream in this country, and that the overwhelming majority of the US public disapproves of W’s job performance?

And the closer to the November elections we get, the more anything terrorist related is going to be seen as the Karl Rove BS strategy it obviously is

And because W’s overextended the military in his Iraq quagmire, he has NO troops to spare for an Iran and Syria invasion & occupation. Not that Russia and China would let him do so under any circumstances anyways, and especially because there’s no way the US public would back expanding this “catastrophic success” from Iraq into a broader conflict

And there’s an easy way to bear this out-Lets just start asking the public if they’d back such an idea

And my goodness, I thought when he wasn’t indicted for deliberately outing Valerie Plame in a hissy fit of political pique, that Karl Rove would be able to pursue his permanent one party rule with nothing holding him back from trouncing us liberals with the National Security card

Looks like Rove’s unable to right the rapidly sinking USS GOP since his nonindictment, and appeals about banning gay marriages aren’t fooling anyone this time, not when it doesn’t put money in peoples pockets, a roof over their heads or food on their table

And, of course, there’s that point I mentioned at the start, how it’s going to be impossible for the GOP to use terrorism as an electoral motivator considering how W shut down the CIA unit devoted to catching or killing Usama bin Laden

Yeah, good luck to spinning that into a positive come November

And while you’re irrationally buoyed for W because of today’s latest terrorist BS, just remember how quickly those feelings dissipated after

Udai & Qusay Hussein were killed

    Saddam Hussein was deposed

    Saddam Hussein was captured

    Abu Musab al-Zarqawi was killed

Sorry Jackoff, the GOP’s got NO more cards to play military wise, or in terms of keeping the US safe from another bin-Laden approved attack, the numerous ethical scandals and legal problems hitting the GOP at the state & national levels and putting future generations of US taxpayers in debt to raid the US treasury on behalf of its corrupt campaign contributors & corporations

And NONE of those situations is going to get better leading into the November elections

That’s the reality Karl Rove’s got to deal with, and he’s about to get a major, and LONG overdue Karmic BitchSlap

What’s “reasing”, and why is a complete stranger worried about the ass of someone they never met?

And since you didn’t even try to refute any of my points, I’ll take that to mean you know you can’t, not in a way that’s logical and positive for this completely incompetent hack masquerading as the current Commander in Chief

The British stopped a plot. Big deal! Just a little exercise in semantics: Every book that is ever written has a plot; every dastardly deed dared dreamt by a daring despot has a plot, every movie, play, drama, satire, opera, musical, wrestling match has a plot; every courtship of the fair young maid, or the ripe maiden aunt has a plot. What percentage are realized? You guess. I will say none. Because as the plot thickens and becomes a success it becomes a strategy. If the British stopped the greatest terrorist act to be plotted by the greatest terrorist plotter ever the Bushco still sits with their shit eating grin. What did they do? Nothing! If the British had not covered their collective ass they may have lost a few innocent women and children and a few votes in November. I sure as hell hope they didn’t gain any more fools.

The bushites were able to sit on the info for 6.5 days before they couldn’t control the urge to release politically benificial confidintial info. Ongoing investigation be damned.

One flaw with this theory is that the Brits did release the info. Still somehow I think the bushites had something to do with the timing. It would be true to form.

Have you ever considered limiting the comments on each thread to no more than, say, fifty at a time? When the comments reach 50 just restart the thread, leaving the previous fifty in the archives. It sometimes seems a waste to post in the higher numbers, this post for example, because the sides have been chosen and the comments are usually what I like to term “CB BS” after the father of the Blog, the Citizens Band Radio. Just a thought but, I think, an opportunity to expand the number of participants.

Thanks for the opportunity for me to spout my sarcasm, Good Buddy.

Yep, no refutation, can’t be done logically or positively for this Administration, and especially can’t be done from the 5th rate trolls

What’s even funnier is that these W tards think anyone they’re trying to kiss up to knows they’re alive, or even cares about them in the least

Not one snarky comment from the W apologists, not one attempted thread derailment from the W lackeys is going to do anything to get the public on W’s side again

And the more the trolls argue their points, the more they try to respond to the daily scourging W and the GOP are going through, the more obvious it becomes just how scared they really are of the voters come November

So console yourselves with that thought you freedom-hating, al-Qaeda loving W lackwits, any glow W will try to thief for himself from the Brits today will be gone much sooner rather than later, just like it did with the capture of Saddam Hussein and the killing of al-Zarqawi

Damn barbera my vocabulary is better than even I thought. http://en.wikipedia.org/ wiki/ Chickenhawk_%28sexuality%29
Well anyway that was an earlier definition of the term. I think the new definition: Someone who is anxious to send somone else to war, but can’t go himself. “I would have gone to war but I had to do my hair”, will take precedence. Because there are so many examples. For instance while you are on Wikipedia you might want to check cheney rove or bush’s biography.

  140. Inkadinkadont Says:

So Bush talks to Blair yesterday, so that Bush could suggest to Blair that now was suddenly the time to act on this potential threat.

And people think that this happening immediately after the Lieberman defeat in CT is a conspiracy.

Well let me tell you, this carefully staged foiled-terrorist plot, that allowed Bush to raise the rainbow threat level to red for the first time since his election, right after Cheney gave a speech comparing CT democrats who didn’t vote for their prize pony Lieberman, was all the WH needed to stop the media and public dead in their tracks talking about the Lamont win and how the democrats are going to kick butt in November elections.

Meanwhile this perfect timing, this carefully staged foiled-terrorist plot is all the ammunition the WH and republicans and pundits need to keep people scared of terrorism, hoping that they’ll run to the polls in November in abject nail-biting fear and vote republican all across the board.

Sadly though people are sick and tired of being manipulated by the Bush White House, and give this a day, it’s all going to create a backfiring tidal wave against them.

“Fighting terrorism is not a police matter”

Next time Bush tries his phony talking points, some alert reporter should undress him before the entire world.

134 “Alright, Terrorism appears to be able to come from any direction, place, and anytime. Why in the hell would you want to focus the vast majority of your terrorist-fighting resources in one single place, when a terrorist attack could come from anywhere, foreign or domestic.”

An excellent point. It is a fallacy to believe that “fighting them over there” prevents terrorist attacks outside Iraq. See e.g. Madrid, London. I hate that vacuous slogan. I would have loved to see us go after the people who attacked us on 9/11 rather than diverting into a counterproductive and tragic operation in Iraq. In fact, in the days after 9/11, it would have been impossible to convince me that we would do anything but hunt down Bin laden and his followers.

    Goodnight all!

The big guys have been impressed with organization. They have been impressed 40 years ago, thats why they invented the embargo.

  202. freeman Says:

A major war in the ME wouldn’t be Viet nam( a back water ) and it would affect the entire planets energy supply ,thats pretty serious .

  203. WORFEUS Says:

Ahh, thanks to our brave and astute government, and the TSA, our airline passengers are now safe from toothpaste and mascara.

Oh and the threat of Coppertan has been reduced to Orange level.

  204. WORFEUS Says:

    Or is that Bronze?

  205. WORFEUS Says:

So I guess now our international travellers will have teeth as bad as the british.

Maybe we could all go back to powdered toothpaste.

He! Funny. I said, funny, freeman. Eventhough I know 25,000 children died everyday.

  207. Juan C Says:

Goodnight, fellas. And, yes, it is possible, freeman. It is always possible.

  208. WORFEUS Says:

    One question though.

Whose going to save us from the idiots at TSA?

  209. freeman Says:

Perhaps think progress or move on .org.would help organize a nationwide boycot of Exxon before the elections .There must be an organization with enough members to make something like that happen more quickly and abruptly than could be done otherwise .That would send more shock waves through the failing 2 party system than running against Joe in november in a 3 way race !
or is that too radical for you ?

  210. WORFEUS Says:

    Yes. Thats a brilliant idea.

Lets have all the liberals in the country stop driving, lose their jobs, their homes, file for bankruptcy and then starve to death,

    That ones a keeper.

  211. freeman Says:

hey Juan ,I appreciate the humor ,these threads crack me up , but I hope we are all laughing in the future , which is why its important to get it right while wer still have the leisure for politics .

  212. Jay Randal Says:

The new terror alert is completely fraudulent, but heck the Bush Regime needs a diversion from the Iraq fiasco, Israel’s barbarity in Lebanon, Joe Lieberman being kicked in the crotch, and the economy collapsing too!

  213. freeman Says:

Try self employment ,Mr worf ,and besides boycotting 1 company won’t keepus off the road .
