Fox News Guest: Muslims Practice ‘Johnny- Come- Lately’ Religion And Pray To ‘Someone Who Wants To Kill You’

Today on Fox News’s Your World with Neil Cavuto, private investigator Bo Dietl argued that Arabs and Muslims should be subjected to racial profiling because Islam is a “Johnny-come-lately” religion and Muslims “pray to someone who wants to kill you.” Watch it:

Transcript:

And Neil, the bottom line is, this is a Johnny-come-lately religion. Christians and Jews have been around for 1600 years, 1500 years before. When they’re having a religion talking about killing people, I think we should reevaluate people who pray to someone who wants to kill you.

We do know one thing for sure – Dietl is a “Johnny-come-never” to religious tolerance.

In the past, The Daily Show has used Bo Dietl as their go-to guy when they wanted some insane ramblings about the war on terra. He’s no George Felix Allen, Jr. when it comes to racial tolerance.

It’s more like: Jews over 5,000 years, Christians for over 2000 years and Muslims for over 1600 years. These bigots can never get their facts straight.

  16. unbelievable says:

The Torah and the Bible both say that the Jewish and Christian gods want to kill all non-believers of their respective religions as well. But as usual for these self-proclaimed prophets, they don’t read their own books. Typical hypocritical newspeak…

Your hand shall be the first raised to slay him; the rest of the people shall join in with you. You shall stone him to death, because he sought to lead you astray from the Lord, your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, that place of slavery. And all Israel, hearing of this, shall fear and never do such evil as this in your midst.

The difference between a dangerous cult and an established religion is about 100 years. See: Mormons, Christian Science, Seventh-Day Adventists, the Witnesses, Falun Gong etc.

…not to mention Hebrews, Christians, Mohammedans, Shiia, Buddhists, Shinto, Lutherans, etc.

This guys misses the point. There are 1.2 BILLION Muslims. Even if 1% of 1% of 1% of them is totally berserker nuts–that’s still 1200 people. How many folks are heading up Al Qaeda, Islamic Jihad, Jamaa Islamiya, etc anyway?

  24. aarrgghh says:

this jackass knows nothing about islam, and what’s worse, he doesn’t care.

that’s the whole problem with this administration: they know nothing about the middle east, but somehow they believe they can reshape it like clay.

  31. Jesus Christ God of WAR says:

When they’re having a religion talking about killing people, I think we should reevaluate people who pray to someone who wants to kill you.

The Christian Bible talks about killing people. Encourages it, in fact.

Didn’t we see Emperor Bush praying to a Christian god??

So let me guess. The comment at the top applies to King George of America. Right? I’m sure this is what the commentator was thinking. Yes. Yes. Yes.

  32. Wilco says:

That’s right, it’s mistranslated. You see, in the original Hebrew, the characters for “slaughter” and “tickle” were quite similar, strangely enough. And in the second passage, that should be “puppy” not “sword”
And I am well, thank you. You?

And the christian god doesn’t want to kill you too? Tell that to all non-christians, heathens, adulterers, anyone who swore at their parents, anyone who had during their period… (All are condemed to death in Deuteronomy and Leviticus)

Oh, and christians weren’t around for 1500 years before Islam either. Get your facts straight. Christians have probably been around for maybe 500 years longer. Not 1500.

But, if you really read history, christianity itself is a johnny-come-late religion. Tons of Pagan religions including the sun worshipers (that christianity all leeched off by the way) existed before it.

Celts were worshipping nature, including the sun around 8,000 to 10,000 years ago.
Hmm, can we convince this to the christians who for some reason believe the earth is only 6000 years old?

But really, he flooded the earth, purposefully hardened the heart of the pharoah to kill all 1st born in egypt, killed someone for ‘withdrawing’, killed lot’s wife for turning around, destoryed Saddam and Gemora, led about 10 different genocides (which killed 100,000+), killed thousands of isralites just after presenting the 10 commandments…

The following are the characteristics of the “sun of God”:

The sun “dies” for three days on December 22nd, the winter solstice, when it stops in its movement south, to be born again or resurrected on December 25th, when it resumes its movement north.
In some areas, the calendar originally began in the constellation of Virgo, and the sun would therefore be “born of a Virgin.”
The sun is the “Light of the World.”
The sun “cometh on clouds, and every eye shall see him.”
The sun rising in the morning is the “Savior of mankind.”
The sun wears a corona, “crown of thorns” or halo.71
    The sun “walks on water.”
The sun’s “followers,” “helpers” or “disciples” are the 12 months and the 12 signs of the zodiac or constellations, through which the sun must pass.
The sun at 12 noon is in the house or temple of the “Most High”; thus, “he” begins “his Father’s work” at “age” 12.
The sun enters into each sign of the zodiac at 30°; hence, the “Sun of God” begins his ministry at “age” 30.
The sun is hung on a cross or “crucified,” which represents its passing through the equinoxes, the vernal equinox being Easter, at which time it is then resurrected

Muslims pray to Mohammed, a prophet, who BTW died quite a long time ago.
Deutromony has as much smite and kill your religious enemy as the Quran does, the evangelicals need alot of Jews to die so they can be saved. Over at Freeper.com we find people praying to Jesus, and God, for the death of liberals, jews, muslims and anybody who doesn’t their belief.
I have seen many a post from the Jewish religion as well Prayng for the death of their religious enemies. I have seen atheists ask for the death of non atheists…..it never ends…

We have today these same words from prophets passed that have cause much death and destruction . Yet we are apparently still trapped by these words, by our beliefs, that one mans belief is more righteous than anothers man’s belief system.

One belief is not more right than another belief because all beliefs are equally unproven.

I believe the sky is Purple, You may believe it is blue.

Should I pray to my God to kill all those that say the sky is blue?
Should the purps form a group of like minded purps to defeat the blues?
And wouldn’t then the blues also form a group to counter my group?

And the battle, of iignorance, would begin again.

Islam does call for killing people. for example in the Hadith it commands followers of Allah to murder apostates. There are also numerous passage in the Koran itself that unambigiously order violence in the name of Islam.

The same types of monsterous things are in the Bible, but thankfully aren’t followed literally by quite as many people. I wish Liberals weren’t so timid about criticizing Islam. It is irrational like all religions and has led to the oppression of people for centuries.

I’m with you, I think organized religion in general is dangerous. They teach people to believe instead of think. I think those who are the least dangerous are theones who choose to ignore the judgmental and hateful stuff and instead just take the Jesus or Mohammed said be nice aspects of it.

  115. unbelievable says:

    Hitler was not a christian.

    Oh yes he was…

“My feelings as a Christian points me to my Lord and Savior as a fighter. It points me to the man who once in loneliness, surrounded by a few followers, recognized these Jews for what they were and summoned men to fight against them and who, God’s truth! was greatest not as a sufferer but as a fighter. In boundless love as a Christian and as a man I read through the passage which tells us how the Lord at last rose in His might and seized the scourge to drive out of the Temple the brood of vipers and adders. How terrific was his fight against the Jewish poison. Today, after two thousand years, with deepest emotion I recognize more profoundly than ever before the fact that it was for this that He had to shed his blood upon the Cross. As a Christian I have no duty to allow myself to be cheated, but I have the duty to be a fighter for truth and justice… And if there is anything which could demonstrate that we are acting rightly, it is the distress that daily grows. For as a Christian I have also a duty to my own people. And when I look on my people I see them work and work and toil and labor, and at the end of the week they have only for their wages wretchedness and misery. When I go out in the morning and see these men standing in their queues and look into their pinched faces, then I believe I would be no Christian, but a very devil, if I felt no pity for them, if I did not, as did our Lord two thousand years ago, turn against those by whom today this poor people are plundered and exposed.”
—Adolf Hitler, speech on April 12, 1922, published in My New Order

Progressives/agnostics are unique in that they do not need any god to tell them to kill. They do it all by themselves.

15% of Americans are non-religious. Yet less than 1% of people in prisons and jails are non-religious. That makes the religious folks more criminal.

    Comment by Bluedog49 — August 14, 2006 @ 7:11 pm

The Romans were first pagans. They took the pagan gods of the Latins and merged them withthe gods of the Greeks. (I took a semester Lit. course on Greek and Roman mythology in college). Their gods were mostly symbolic. They were more infatuated as a culture with the man anatomy.

Actually, the Holy Roman Empire wasn’t in Rome. Constantine moved the Roman Empire to Istanbul, where after the Empire crumbled, he changed the religion to Christianity. The Holy Roman Empire was actually seated in Eastern European cities – including Prague. It was an attempt to reconsitute the Roman Empire by the Vatican.

  131. spyder says:

A little basic religious history since it seems that there is a need for some factual accuracy in these posts, particularly given the unbelievable ignorance of Dietl’s comment.
The Torah, written by several authors over a number of centuries, was codified around 640 BCE during the buildout of the kingdom of Judea though the first complete collection of books that were codified into the Torah found so far was dated at 1000 BCE.

The first known writing regarding Christianity came from Paul and date 30 CE, but the religion itself was not codified (the Bible with the Gospels) until much later, between 170 CE and 210 CE and later following the Councils of Alexandria and Nicea.

The Islamic calendar starts in 622CE with the Hijra exodus following several years of development from the visions and the writing of the Koran. Following the death of the Prophet in 632 CE the religion split into the Sunni and Shia sects.

There is so much more to the stories but for now, these basic facts should suffice.

  132. unbelievable says:

True, all loyal Communists were atheists, but they were atheists because of their Communism — not Communists because of their atheism. In fact, Communism dictated that Soviet citizens (subjects) become atheists, which went much further than the role Christianity then played in America, when our currency did not say, “In God We Trust” and our Pledge of Allegiance did not say, “under God.” This situation is rapidly changing in America today, partly as a reaction to Communism: before, Christianity was simply a choice that America offered her citizens; since the Cold War, Christianity has been exploited to bolster an American sense of nationalism.

The role that atheism played in Communism was as that of State Dogma (I will fall short of saying State Religion). This is most easily seen in the pronouncements of the Soviet Cosmonauts. Yuri Gagarin, the first man in orbit (preceding John Glenn by a few weeks), announced from his capsule: “I don’t see any god up here” — as if that has anything even remotely to do with what the Christians claim; this is, rather, a show of nationalistic contempt toward the United States. Gherman Titov, the first man to spend any significant amount of time in orbit, is quoted as saying, “I am high in the sky, and still I do not see the face of god” — again showing contempt for the claims of Christianity, as a way to bolster Soviet nationalism against the United States.

    http://www.positiveatheism.org/mail/eml9169.htm

  133. unbelievable says:

Thus, if anybody killed for Communism, they killed for Communism or for the Soviet Union, they did not kill for atheism. In fact, many atheistic Anarchists were killed by the Communists. But during the Inquisition and during the Witch Hunts, people killed for Christ and for no other reason. They burned our forebears in direct obedience to the command in John 15:6: “If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.” Atheism has no such commandment and needs the help of no State to make its case before humans.

Bush ‘helped Israeli attack on Lebanon’

    Dan Glaister in Los Angeles
    Monday August 14, 2006
    The Guardian

The US government was closely involved in planning the Israeli campaign in Lebanon, even before Hizbullah seized two Israeli soldiers in a cross border raids in July. American and Israeli officials met in the spring, discussing plans on how to tackle Hizbullah, according to a report published yesterday.

The veteran investigative journalist Seymour Hersh writes in the current issue of the New Yorker magazine that Israeli government officials travelled to the US in May to share plans for attacking Hizbullah.

Quoting a US government consultant, Hersh said: “Earlier this summer … several Israeli officials visited Washington, separately, ‘to get a green light for the bombing operation and to find out how much the United States would bear’.”

The Israeli action, current and former government officials told Hersh, chimed with the Bush administration’s desire to reduce the threat of possible Hizbullah retaliation against Israel should the US launch a military strike against Iran.

“A successful Israeli Air Force bombing campaign … could ease Israel’s security concerns and also serve as a prelude to a potential American pre-emptive attack to destroy Iran’s nuclear installations,” sources told Hersh.

Yesterday Mr Hersh told CNN: “July was a pretext for a major offensive that had been in the works for a long time. Israel’s attack was going to be a model for the attack they really want to do. They really want to go after Iran.”

An unnamed Pentagon consultant told Hersh: “It was our intention to have Hizbullah diminished and now we have someone else doing it.”

Officials from the state department and the Pentagon denied the report. A spokesman for the National Security Council told Hersh that “The Israeli government gave no official in Washington any reason to believe that Israel was planning to attack.”

Well done Number 1. That really needed to be done. Just keep posting it every day. They seem to be crawling out from under rocks every where you look these days. You know some of them at one time could enter a real debate but, as the bushco empire has gone down in flames all you get from them is…I am lost because it is nonsense, hate, bile, and worst of all MA-the big, fat, bald, sweaty one that can not make any sense at all any more (not that HE ever did).

CLYDE is being (unfairly) denied his 1st Admendment right.

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

Since Congress (or the government) didn’t ban him from publicly speaking his mind I don’t think that is the case. The people who pay for this site have the right to allow whatever they want on it. Same as if you allow me into your house and I say something you don’t like you can have me removed. I could not demand protection under the constitution to reenter your house and say what I want.

Wrong fat guy, YOU amuse us. In particular me. I like how you and Mr. MA pack a pinic basket and go down to the shore to enjoy your weekend. Not to mention all your friends and great social life(my god the parties when will they end?). You know turd you need a new made up life. Why not a Friar in some remote village? Oh, BTW some village in Texas is missing its’ idiot.

  177. Tundra says:

Why would I care about how I end up on a chart that I know to be wrong.

Not that it matters to me, You stated how wrong it was. I was trying to find out what you noticed about it that was wrong. Since I didn’t code it (And am not interested enough to play around with trying to reverse it if I could) I have no idea what value the questions have on placement. Most I have ever taken have Libertarians over above Republicans, but since it didn’t change my scoring, I didn’t care much.

Where did you end up if you feel it’s such a useful metric?
Ummm as I stated in my previous post #163
I sort of fall under the b in Libertarian on the chart below.

Not that I feel it’s that useful of a metric, sort of a neat little quiz (If it offends you that much pretend I never posted it)

PJ, that is weak. I had a girlfriend who used the excuse “Just because they say they are Christian doesn’t mean they are”. She wasn’t very bright either. Is Pat Robertson a Christian? Jerry Falwell? Is Ahmadinejad a Muslim? bin Ladin? Zarqawi? Sorry, bud, if they label themselves one or the other, that is exactly what they are. Would you like me to find scripture to defend Hitler? Not my favorite thing to do but I guarantee you that I can paint him as the most pious Christian you would ever meet.

JPark, you’re dealing with two different definitions of “CHristian.” It seems your ex referred to a Christian as someone who follows the tenets of the religion, whereas you’re using that of one who believes in Jesus as Lord and Savior. Jesus would like hers but hate your definition, as it’s argued he came along to get rid of all those who followed the letter but not the spirit of Judaic teachings.

In general I do disagree with people here about 30% of the time (Don’t bother agreeing openly too often cause what’s the point?) In general I just like to have conversations and “see” how other people view things. I’m a people person hehe.

  210. Tundra says:

    JPark,

No I don’t think it’s as far, but the space is alot smaller for it too. Socialism carries alot more “as a group” thinking than Facism does. Which is why there is alot more room in there. We have eliminated alot of the facists (Evolution at work). Socialism also involves alot less conflict which allows that group to grow where Facism is more of a “personal victory” and well, there isn’t room for groups of them in society or that chart.

Socialism is in my opinion a much better alternative to facism (Unless of course I am in charge, then it’s not so bad)

    Just a thought on it.

  225. JPark says:

Tundra, interesting comments and I agree that Socialism is better :). I don’t think facism is less “as a group” thinking. I think the group is just a lot smaller, as in corporations and other corporations. As an accountant I am not anti-business as that would be bad for my business but I am anti-mega-coporation-big box store-monopoly as this is incredibly bad for our economy (as you can see from the pro-corp, pro-outsource, pro-corporate welfare state Bush has brought upon us). No, I don’t believe everything should be centralized. That would ruin the one good thing that capitalism has brought us and that is the innovative spirit and the motivation behind progress. I do believe that corporatizing the US destroys this independent spirit and will cause the stagnation of not only our economy but our edge in new tech, new inventions, etc. And I think that is what Socialism offers. A balance between the pure greed of Capitalism and the pure control of Communism. Frankly, I think Socialism is a centrist position economically.

  240. Tundra says:

    JPark,

I think one of the prime things we most likely differ when it comes to big corporations is who is responsible for keeping them in check. I think we as citizens have to do it, where some socialists feel the government should have a hand.

Example: I purchase things from smaller stores whenever I can. I try and stay away from the bigger names just as my little way of helping the smaller guy have a chance. Sure I pay more and have less than I could if I always bought at big locations. I run Linux on my home PC’s (Many people won’t take the time to learn it and give more to Microsoft). My personal feeling is if the government has control they will backdoor deal things. If enough of us as citizens did our part they wouldn’t be able to.

I pretty much don’t trust the government to run too much and think we as a society have to take more control. I also have alot more faith in the masses than most people. When things start to lean one way too much (As I think they have tilted that way) society will even it out.

    Rex,

You have to admit, the Inside Job Theory is a religion to some of those people and they are very fanatical about it. Calling them loonies is fair when they respond to my expert opinion with ‘you stupid b*tch, you don’t know what you’re talking about’ (except with worse grammar and typos). I obviously do. A court of law would verify that.

I definitely don’t lump you with them, as you have been very polite and willing to dicuss. But I do think you do want the conspiracy to be true. It wasn’t judgment, just observation. Nothing personal. You seem like a nice and reasonable person and I don’t see this as a point of contention between us.

But, so as not to start the debate here and upset Judd anymore than Zoo being off topic this entire thread , let’s just agree to disagree and when I call the fanatics loonies know that it’s only the ones who truly are… :)

#136 gets it right. Is this idiot suggesting the Islamic religion has only been around for 100 years???

  245. Wilco says:

Joe, way to bring it on back home!
I went to a Catholic High School here in Cleveland and I had a teacher who introduced us to a theory by C. S. Lewis, that essentially states belief in Jesus is the best bet you can make, religiously speaking, because if he exists and you don’t believe you go to hell, but if you believe and he doesn’t exist, nothing happens. I thought that was great! Then I thought a bit, and figured that applies for every religion around, just replace Jesus with whomever and there you go. Same conclusion. Woopdeedoo.
So I tried worshipping all the gods and that got really exhausting, so I gave up. I never do well gambling anyway.

I think Socialism is a centrist position economically.

I would have to agree, I think the thing that keeps me from believing in giving more to the government is my distrust for their spending habits. If I thought MY tax money was being spent well and making a difference, I wouldn’t complain about giving more. At this stage they have to clean up their act before I agree they need more.

That is why when I hear people say more money for this program or that program I complain. A few weeks ago we had a drive to enhance a local park. We did a cookout and all of us from the post volunteered our time. We bought and put up a new playground structure, I found out after we had to pay a couple hundred dollars in some form of state tax (I wish I knew more about it). That means the time we spent on our community and some of the money we raised by the people in our community got sent to somewhere else. It kind of drives me up a wall.

Then you really, really, really don’t want to hear about what the school system does with tax dollars… They could stand to give more to teachers and less to tehir overhead. Seriously. The education system doesn’t manage money well at all. And if teachers were paid better (the money is there for 25% increases), you’d have better teachers.

  256. JPark says:

#249 No, Capitalism is not the answer and neither is Communism. They both have something to offer but I believe that a true balance of the two is needed for a truly successful, lasting economy. Capitalism is based on a human weakness (or strength in moderation), greed. Communism is based on a human strength (or weakness in excess), compassion. There has to be a balance, even if it is razorthin.

Oh I can imagine. I believe that teachers deserve more money… But me giving more to the school isn’t going to make that happen. If they took the time to clean up their act I would happily agree to giving more if it was needed. Personally I think they can do so much more with what they have and squander it on “backdoor deals”. #254 I wish that you were right that it is the people that would put a check on large corporations but if a monopoly is effective the people will have low prices. Unfortunately, the average person doesn’t understand basic economics. They understand their pocketbooks. Take for instance, deflation. It is horrible for the economy, just as bad as inflation. But the people love it, they don’t pay much for goods. Unfortunately, this will ultimately lead to unemployment but the guy buying steak at $2.00 a pound is going to love it. When he is laid off a month later he is going to blame his employer but it is his own fault for loving the low prices. You can’t base economic policy on what is good for the consumer…or the business. You have to base it on what is best for the overall economy. The average person knows absolutely nothing about macro-economics, only micro…their personal finances…and that is not good for the country in the long run.

  275. JPark says:

#262 I totally agree with you. I don’t think the government knows its ass from a hole in the ground when it comes to economic policy. Take FDR. He was incredible getting the country out of the depression. But it wasn’t him, it was his economic advisors. He actually listened to them. Until he thought the depression was over. He starting getting rid of his alphabet soup programs despite his people near the end but it was a disaster. He sent the country back into a recession because he was doing it too early and thought everything was peachy. Well, history will show him being the hero of the Great Depression but it wasn’t him…it was the very intelligent people around him but it wasn’t him. Once he stopped listening to people who knew what they were talking about he hurt the economy. I don’t know the answer but it isn’t the people who should decide with their pocketbooks what we should do with the economy as it is purely based on self-interest which in the long-run is not good for their own self-interest (ironic, ain’t it?). I would wish that there would be a truly non-partisan group of economists that would set policy.

  276. Tundra says:

The average person knows absolutely nothing about macro-economics, only micro…their personal finances…and that is not good for the country in the long run.

I agree with the post. The problem I see is that it’s their right to be ignorant of that. It’s their country too. The minute we say here is a better way let me do it for you, we have taken ownership of them. It’s kind of a fine line. The only solution I can think of is “grassroots education”. If we let the government educate them it will become a very expensive mess. (Of course I am big on anti-free trade and forcing companies that do business in America to be here employing people, or paying enough taxes to offset the loss of jobs)

Bad Star Wars analogy here: The Emperor thought the people were too stupid to take care of themselves. He knew how to do it better. He created his Empire to “make the people listen”. Pretty soon protecting them from themselves turned into what everyone didn’t want.

Juan C. Self-determination and a strong work ethic (based on making money) is certainly a part of making a strong economy. Excessive greed of the Rockefeller and Carnegie type worked for a couple of decades but they did it on the backs of the workers and that became unacceptable. The government had to step in (after being the strong arm and union breaker) and be an advocate for the American worker. Don’t think I am a lover of pure capitalism, I am not. However, a huge reason Communism failed was because there was no motivation to excel or to be innovative. Communism died from the inside, just as Capitalism seems to be doing under Bush. There must be a middle ground or we are screwed.

If the US hadn’t legalized unions and put the brakes on sweat shops and child labor, those things would still be going on. Nobody these days would stand for that but it went on. The government had to pass laws to halt those practices. Business has the power while labor must rely on the government to protect them from abuse. If it weren’t for the government enforcing fair labor practices we would be no better off than migrant workers.

I would rather see the money not have been spent in the first place and the education budget streamlined on it’s own. Saying but this money could be used here doesn’t work for me. I think they need to fix what is broken and then say WOW we saved 40% of our tax money. Lets drop taxes or even, we can improve education by this much (Every kid has a laptop and college age tutor) and welfare by this much (Free housing for single mothers with each spending time on babysitting work), or look no social security problems with an overhall we can do this.

(i’m actually participating in one that’s starting in my district), as studies have found that it ’saves’ a lot of underpriviledged (sp?) kids
To me that helps a whole lot more than the government funding some bloated program with overpriced gear that sucks. There are plenty of people that would give to afterschool programs for marketing deals and the goodness of their heart. Team up with a non profit organization. Give them 20% and then run around raising money with (Insert non profit here) to help after school programs in your neighborhood. Put company logos on pencils, jerseys. Send flyers to the parents with coupons stating who helped. All the money is tax deductible because it went through the non profit and they cut the check for the 80%.

Point taken and accepted. There does have to be reasonable restrictions on the way businesses work That’s why there is so much room around the middle ground. I don’t think any one way is best and it does require a combination. I do think the government is too deep sometimes though. Like the oil issue. With the prices where they are the market is ready for a company to be innovative and produce something that really shakes up the system. Now we just need those free thinkers to step up and get away from those corporations they are working for and do something on their own.

  306. JPark says:

Tundra, the oil thing is exactly what I am talking about. Oil companies get huge tax breaks to produce oil (not in quantity, but just to be in the business). Bush promised to give breaks to those who would create new forms of energy. He kinda told the truth. He gave extremely minor tax breaks to those who would create renewable energy technologies while at the same time giving MORE welfare to the oil, coal, natural gas, and nuclear power companies. The deck is stacked against renewable resources by the Bush administration. They cannot come close to competing against big energy (thank you Cheney). I know this gives you even more reason to believe that government should stay out of the ecomomy and I agree…Republicans shouldn’t make policy :) The fact is the government (from previous posts) need to reign in certain elements of business. The fact is also that it should be to create a level playing ground, not to entrench an already bloated and monopolistic industry. Big oil is the perfect example of a corporation that cannot be threatened by competition because of corrupt policy.

    Comment by unbelievable

Twisted view of that verse by some.
This is not a commandment to burn unbelievers but refers to believers.

Only believers are commanded to abide in Christ .
A common practice of viticulture is the pruning and burning of unproductive branches, this applys to unproductive believers.
God hastens those believers who persist in willful disobedience.
It is probably wrong to conclude that the expression “they are burned” refers specifically to physical death.

To illustrate this point, check out this video Think Progress posted of private investigator Bo Dietl stating, without cracking a smile, that Islam “is a Johnny-come-lately religion.” And Neil, the bottom line is, this is a Johnny-come-lately religion. Christians and Jews have been around for 1600 years, 1500 years before. When they’re having a religion talking about killing people, I think we should reevaluate people who pray to someone who wants to kill you. [...]

It is probably wrong to conclude that the expression “they are burned”

Again Hilter was a wolf in sheeps clothing. A counterfeit christian.
Mat 7:15, 20-23 (NIV) “Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves… Thus, by their fruit you will recognize them… Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evil doers!’”

I would rather see the money not have been spent in the first place and the education budget streamlined on it’s own.

I think there’s a fine line between being fiscally responsible and being frugal to your own detriment.

I’m talking about spending money on something in addition to the education system that is desperately needed, instead of spending it on a pointless war.

To me that helps a whole lot more than the government funding some bloated program with overpriced gear that sucks. There are plenty of people that would give to afterschool programs for marketing deals and the goodness of their heart.
    Comment by Tundra — August 14, 2006 @ 11:02 pm

I guess this is where we will ahve to disagree. I think the reason the government got involved in the first place was to assure equal opportunity education for all. And to turn it over to Capitalism just makes it seems a bit like prostitution to me. This way, we received a grant to get the program started. I’ll be earning extra money to supplement my pitiance of a salary, and the kids will have something to do instead of running around unsupervised (which is when they will be in trouble). I have ZERO problem putting my tax dollars into that. Unlike Iraq…

I’m not that gullible… It says what it says. I believe they want people to kill others. If you would study Middle Eastern history, you’d understand that.

You can try to spin your way out of the truth, but it doesn’t mean I have to fall for it. And I don’t.

Well, see, by your logic, the opposite of what is said is exactly true (I mean you did twist the meaning of the post I made to fit what you wanted it to say). So, by your own premise, the above passage says that you should lie with dogs and be happy that they gave you fleas…

You obviously believe what you want to.
    Your knowledge is limited.

Good luck with your studies in Ancient Rome etc.
You do excellent at insults, rude comments, and put downs. A+
You have great tutors here to help you with that.

  343. unbelievable says:

    PJ,

You’re projecting. Religion is about belief. Science is about acceptance. I accept the fact that there is no proof of a god. Has zero to do with belief.

    I called you dear…

It’s not an insult when someone is pointing out the truth. It is denial when you can’t handle the truth so you blame other people for your choices. Not my fault you don’t like the sound of reality.

With the neocon call for religious profiling of all Muslims on aircraft, the rantings by Cavuto are but one more brick in the wall between sanity and insanity.

. You have the whole universe as a proof. Take it from the farthest galaxies to the smallest nucleus, or just observe cells and how they fuction.

The universe is proof of evolution and, if you bothered to learn anything about it, it actually increases the likelihood that a god does not exist.

I keep asking, but none of you can answer, and teh whole universe is filled with anomolies of this kind – creation and a functionless appendix in humans are incompatable. Prove otherwise.

” Scientists are the ones who fear GOD the most “.
    Comment by observer — August 16, 2006 @ 7:51 pm

Not at all. Scientists do not fear the concept of god(s). They (gods) are simply pointless.

How did we all get this far without your great knowledge and wisdom?

You have again some great opinions. You’re entitled to your version of truth.

I guess when you and your buddies call Bush a chimp next time, remember you came from one too. You’re just more advanced.

You remind me of this guy backin 64 AD named Nero.
He was very logical/sane like you. He burned Christians
to use as evening lights. Maybe your two are related?

“Atheism and socialism – or liberalism, which tends in the same direction – are inseparable entities. When you have men who no longer believe that God is in charge of human affairs, you have men attempting to take the place of God by means of the superstate.”

  349. Mr. Evil says:

Religion has done absolutely nothing tangible for the benefit of mankind. Nothing! Organized religion is the greatest evil ever perpetrated upon the human race. There are countless examples where religion has been nothing but a detriment to humanity and the advancement thereof.

So all you God-mongers out there looking for a sign or something to prop up to tell the world what a great guy God is, wait for the day that all the sick children at St. Jude’s Childrens Hospital to all of a sudden get up and walk out of that place, under their own power, cured, never to have to return, might show me something. Short of something of that nature, I won’t waste my time.
