On a happier note, I do not agree with a free for all or open boards. But you both sound like this is your country and no ones elses. You know the truth Jake. America was “conquered” by western civilization. This culture was forced upon those who fought and lost to the violent European forces. Thus, if you must have an “ancestral homeland” to fight for, you’re on the wrong continent.

Yet there’s one good thing about America, there’s no good reason for you to fight the forces within. You can’t win. We, the people of color WILL EVENTUALLY TAKE TOTAL CONTROL!. Through the DEMOCRATIC process!

The only way to cure the ill’s within the black community is for blacks to take control of the power structure. Not just local government and local economy…but, the national government, the corporations and the entire infrastucture!

A totally new culture shall evolve! One where people of color become the highest achievers. People of color will build the great and prosperous cities and businesses. People of color will run a government that “insures” that all people are allowed opportunity. A government that understands the needs and aspirations of every man, women, state and country on earth.

An America where “western culture” becomes an anomaly, “whites”, per se, who continue to base their beliefs and ideals in western culture, will become the new “lower-class”. (Whites such as yourself, Jake!)

I’m glad to hear your point of view. I have mixed feelings, from two perspectives that really tear me apart, on immigration from Mexico. On the one hand, I taught ESL (English as a Second Language) for four years in Anaheim. I had students from many countries. And I found the Mexican students, almost without exception, to be courteous, generous, hard-working, warm, family-oriented people who would be the people to help anyone in need. Many of them worked two jobs and came to class utterly exhausted, but, determined to learn English. A couple of days ago I saw an accident on the freeway. A car had flipped over in the car pool lane and police hadn’t arrived, so several cars were parked on the inside edge, where they were trying to get people out of the car and tend to people on the ground. Almost every helper I saw was Hispanic — which didn’t surprise me.

On the other hand… In the city I live in, I now hear more Spanish than English spoken on the street and in shops. The radio is now dominated by Ranchera and Hispanic pop and hip-hop — it’s hard to find a station in English sometimes that comes through clear. There are two clothing shops in town, one primarily Anglo, the other Mexican. The Anglo one is pretty quiet; but in the Mexican one children run wild in the aisles, yelling or crying, throwing shoes and clothes on the floor, and the mothers/fathers do little or nothing to stop them.

Ten years ago, I got cancer, and had to go on Medi-Cal, the program for the poor in California. In the big hall where I went to apply, literally ninety-five percent of the people in the room were Hispanic women with babies and young children. There were a few elderly Vietnamese, and one other white woman with a small child. No black people at all. When I was growing up, twenty, thirty years ago the percentages would have been nearly opposite.

So, it’s a complicated issue. I know and like so many Mexican people personally and socially, but sometimes I have a visceral response when the town I’ve lived in for many years has been taken over by Mexican immigrants, forty percent or more of whom speak Spanish, not English, different child-rearing practices disrupt my shopping, the radio is now mostly in Spanish, etc.

These may seem like little things, but they’re not. I feel like I’m living in Mexico sometimes instead of the America I grew up in, and I feel like we’ve been invaded because of the sheer numbers of Mexican people now living here. In fact, we white people have gone from being 80% of the population to 35% in three decades. I asked my ESL students one time, “How would you feel if suddenly half the people you met in Guadalajara spoke only German, and friends of yours couldn’t find work as carpenters any more because the Germans all worked for a lot less money.” They said, they’d feel terrible. Well, I said…

Yet individually, they are some of the best people I’ve ever known, and if I were in their place in Mexico I would do anything I could to cross the border if it meant I could earn enough money to support my family.

But… I resent seeing Mexican women on the street with a baby in a push chair and two toddlers tagging behind, and I remember the welfare office, the exploding birth rate, and the cost of it.

Basically, there are just too many people crossing the border every year, and many of those who do have one child after another. The infrastructure in CA is collapsing: the roads, the schools, emergency rooms in hospitals are closing, and jobs once worked by whites and blacks that lived here for decades are now exclusively held by Mexican and Central American laborers who have decimated all branches of the building trade, taking jobs that used to be unionized and driving American workers out of the field entirely. Other jobs as well: fast-food is entirely Hispanic, as are bus boys, dishwashers, janitors, etc. It’s not true that “Americans don’t want these jobs” — the janitors union in LA has been gutted by low-wage, off the books Mexican workers; American construction workers have had to learn other trades because they can’t compete with Mexicans working for half their normal salaries or less. The people hardest hit are blacks, blue-collar whites and blacks, high school students and old people, who used to work the MacDonald’s jobs. I’ve even heard that Mexican workers have flooded (oops — sorry!) into New Orleans, beating out American workers, many of them native New Orleans folks, for jobs rebuilding houses, because the Mexicans will work for a third less money.

And sometimes I feel.. I never want to hear Spanish again, I want my music back on the radio, and I want to see mostly white and black faces in town, like it used to be, until it turned mostly Hispanic.
Is this racist? Maybe so. I think it has more to do with culture, but I’m no authority. Still, I think feeling territorial is universal, and when your community is transformed overnight (or so it seems), you feel invaded, resentful, even hostile. The longing to be with people who speak the same language, who look the same and have the same customs is pretty universal, I’d think. I used to like visiting Mexico, but I never, ever wanted to live there, and now Mexico has come to me, and I am living there anyway.

One could point to the history of the Jewish race to see that peoples that allow themselves to become displaced are subject to persecution. The lefties tell us, “Let’s just have an open border free for all and every one will get along fine”.

Why is it that the diversity zealots want diversity only in European lands and nowhere else?

How about a little diversity in China, Mexico, Japan, or Korea. Oh, it’s a one way street and then they call us the racists.

This phony generational guilt trip that the lefties play is getting, well, rather worn out. I don’t see Chinese people walking around ringing their hands about the 20 million killed by Chairman Mao. Also, I don’t see people of color walking around fretting about slavery that still exists in the world today . I guess their aren’t any dollar signs attached to that.

Europeans need to remember the achievements of Western Civilization as well as the sins. We tend to ignore the achievements of the west – freedom of religion, freedom of speech and over focus on the sins.

Colonialization was about power not race. If the indians had clipper ships and cannons they would have been doing the colonizing. The leftist press always make the native american scene sound like a peace and love campout.

How come female lefties suddenly go silent when talking about treatment of women in Arab countries? It’s like they have a brain fart and then they say, “Well, oh it’s their culture”.

The leftist press ignores racism by other groups acting as if it’s a white only phenominon. All I have to say is “La Raza”. The knife cuts both ways. We all know that.

Generational guilt is bogus. The left wants to “Old Testament” white people on generational guilt. The want “anything goes” morality on everything else.

In the U.S. what we are witnessing is a power play. It isn’t about rights – it’s about power. The open border crowd wants to play the demographic card and restructure the power balance without firing a shot.

One idea we never hear – if the current generation of immigrants is so wonderful – why don’t they fix their own countries instead of trying to change ours??

Political Correctness seems to be like a HIV virus to the democratic form of government. The problem with democracy is that it’s so short term in focus and the government really can’t say no to anyone. Ploitical correctness doesn’t actually kill your country but it knocks out the normal defenses against things like massive immigration.

The last inflamatory but true thing I will say is about “bandwagoning”. Blacks and Native Americans have historical beefs. Why, then, should someone getting off the boat from Iraq have preferences for scholarships and student aid versus my son when I’ve paid taxes for 20 years?

Lot’s of groups are jumping on the “minority” bandwagon as a way of recieving benefits. We don’t owe these other groups a thing.

Right now the lefties thing that nothing can change. Quick demographic change is irreversible and the majority will just sit down passively and go away.

All I can say is who, in 1981, imagined the fall of the Soviet Union. Things can change quickly and suddenly. Europeans need to stop apologizing, regrow a spine, reclaim pride, and stand up for their interests.

This isn’t about racisim. It’s about healthy pride that other ethnicities all take for granted.
