Rep. Peter King (R-NY) pays lip service to diversity.

Race and ethnicity aren’t currently factors in his hiring decisions, but the congressman said that diversifying his staff “would probably make me look good to show that I have someone on staff that doesn’t fit the stereotype.”

It’s that illegal immigrant he has mowing his lawn. Makes him look REAL good.

  2. Bingo ! says:

Peter King; now that is a brainchild.

  3. Zimzone says:

Peter, you’re not King, W is the King.
Now that we have that straight, has it ever occured to you
that ‘doing the right thing’ may not include ‘how you look’?

Peter, you fit the ‘R’ sterotype perfectly…head up ass, oblivious
to reality, first to fight & last to ask questions, whine when you
    don’t get your way.
Oh, & Pete, where are you at with the container security in ports?
Still OK with non-whites doing the security? Still OK with 5% of
    containers screened?

I thought so. Pete, you are an ignorant slut, as Akroyd said so well.
Pull your head out of your ass, open your eyes & ears & look around.
The world has changed & passed you by!

Is it true that the new Repukelican candidates must also be mentally
and socially retarded? If so, you make a good case for changing the
    criteria.

C’mon, New York. The greatest city in the world can do better.

  4. S.D. says:

He doesn’t represent NYC, only part of Nassau County.

I wonder: Does he screen applicants by Ethinicity and Religion??

  5. Publius says:

Heaven forbid you have a diverse staff that can provide diverse viewpoints, not just look good for voters. What a joke.

  6. oldtree says:

it is better to look good than to be good any day of the week!

  7. Paul says:

It looks like Peter King needs to go to Rent a Negro. Maybe he can find some diversity there.

  9. Abby says:

Rep. Peter King, ever the true Republican. What looks good is better than what is good. Perception trumps reality. Winning the driving seat is better than having the ability to drive. Spin is better than facts. Cover-up is better than admitting mistakes.

And they wonder why the world’s only superpower cannot take care of it’s own following the Katrina disaster………

  10. Impeachcheneythenbush says:

I’m certainly not a fan of King, but fair is fair. He’s not the only one, from either side of the aisle. And Rep. Meeks has no white staff…that’s not exactly diversity either. As Progressives, we have bigger fish to fry than hearing about a politician making a politician’s kind of statement, “would make me look better.”

  11. Gay Bear says:

I think I’ll apply for the job. Think he might get as diverse as to hire someone who’s gay? For look’s sake only, of course.

  12. RUCerious says:

Quick, hire a token “idiot”. Oops, sorry, he’s already filled that position with himself.

  13. reddog rules says:

piss on diversity. when did this country ever vote on this forced diversity bullcrap ?? what about those of us who don’t want diversity? liberals love to use flowery quotes about diversity in nature but disregard the concept of invasive species.
