for next week.

  1. Ronin Tetsuro says:

American is strong on hurricane defense! Look at how many major American cities have been destroyed since New Orleans! None! Mission Accomplished!

  2. Clyde the Ripper says:

    Starring Rockey no doubt!

  3. Dave M. says:

Oh boy, we get to watch history be erased right before our very eyes!

By this time next month, America will be convinced that Katrina was the best disaster relief effort this country has ever seen. Hell, Karl Rove got assigned to this months ago, we should see something impressive. Maybe even fireworks.

  4. Wasted Effort says:

Wouldn’t it be great if all the money and effort wasted on this PR spin was used to HELP the people of NOLA instead?

Again, we see appearances are more important than reality.

  5. Marie says:

    Katy, bar the door!
The Rove propaganda machine will be at full tilt.
Today’s Republican “plant” for the photo op was only the opening salvo.
    To the American public:
Who are you going to believe – their lies or your own lyin’ eyes?

    —————–
    A nail-on-the-head moment.

  7. Civil War That says:

Remember that there will be an issue of the day and of the week through the elections in November, starring aWol as long as he is vaguely lucid.

One bad twist, according to Media Matters, is that the media is editing out many of his fumbles, mistatements, and lies. They are cleaning him up, as Dave M. suggests, right before our eyes.

  8. Steve53 says:

Disgusting opportunists…and I think that’s about the nicest thing I’ve said about those criminals.

  9. The Decider says:

I think people are tired of being lied to. This is going to be a very transparent attempt to re-write history.

Good luck Turdblossom, put some more whipped cream on that pile of shit and try telling people it is chocolate mousse.

  10. Geoff says:

Fortunately, Spike Lee’s movie will be out at the same time to counter the BS

  11. The Decider says:

    Lookat this too.

That dipshit Rocky the “Hurricane victim” was really a Republican operative. Sort of a Jeff Gannon for the Gulf Coast.

  12. Sharon Cox says:

It’s not possible to clean up a room full of mud wallowing pig’s with out a huge hose, lot’s of water and more pressure…Sorry pig’s…You are one animal that is specific on you’re potty habits, unlike the human race……Think we all knew this was starting with Rocky and his hour’s of fame….Moving right along….Win or loose the Republican’s are on the run…Yahooooo………Blessings

  13. Briseadh na Faire says:

Winston Smith and several others in the Ministry of Truth have been working overtime on this for weeks now, in preparation for the celebration of Big Brother’s triumph over the forces of Nature.

Oh, and we are at war with Eurasia. We have always been at war with Eurasia.

    WAR IS PEACE
    IGNORANCE IS STRENGTH
    FREEDOM IS SLAVERY

Update:Big Brother has declared a war against golbal warming. Big Brother has a plan to defeat global warming. There is no global warming. Big Brother has defeated global warming.

  14. Spudge_Boy says:

I posted this in the other thread. Not sure why TP hasn’t done an update yet, but that Rocky guy has been discredited in a HUGE way. He isn’t just a Bush lapdog. He is a republican who ran for office in St Bernard’s perish and lost.

Crooks and Liars has the scoop. This jerk is not just a Bush fan, he ran as a republican in St Bernard Perish and lost. This guy is a full on plant.

Once again, the “liberal media” has not checked its facts.

    Crooks and Liars
Does Rocky sound too good to be true?

  15. Trinary Suka says:

It’s too late, this only makes the Bush Administration look worse and worse, it takes re-elections to get these politicians to do anything. People realize that the only reason the Bush admin. is doing a public relations ‘blitz’ is to campaign for the inept, unfiscal, weak, visionless, spiteful and corrupt GOP.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Bush gets heckled and booed.

Besides that — Who is paying for this Republican campaign propaganda blitz to Nawleans??

  16. Jesus Christ God of WAR says:

Can we see the newsreels again? You know, the ones that show Emperor George stunning a guitar.

Then show the ones where Emperor George was when he should have been in some command center some place showing concern and directing support for the displaced. You know, the ones where he’s “some place else” raising political money and basically avoiding the whole Katrina thing.

  17. Steve53 says:

Well,Spudge Boy,we can hope this will come back to bite Bush on the ass…I just heard on CNN that the White House claims they were not aware of his party affiliation! Riiight!

  18. WaltTheMan says:

That photo of W looking down on the destruction is even more poignant than the image captured during the Marines’ conquest of Iwo Jima! (satire off). Perhaps, he will accomplish what he promised and has not been done for the last year or so – rebuild NOLA in the next seven days. See this to see how people are fending for themselves!

  19. Steve53 says:

oops.My #17 post is for another thread.

  20. nym@alias.net says:

it our job to spread the truth.

we all must reach beyond the virtual world and continue to take the truth to the average joe.

this is the only way to counter the propaganda and lies hosted by the MSM. the MSM GOP drumbeat will be ramping up. we must also increase our efforts.

regardless of your choosen methodology for implementation (voice, editorials, pamphleteering, vote registration drives), at all cost just do it

the best msgs are one-to-many interaction. although great value exists for one-to-one.

simple concise msgs always work best. take leasons from the founding fathers and utilize satire in easily crafted publications.

just one hour a day, step away from the keyboard, and take your msg outside the net.

    your help is needed.

    move america forward.

  21. Tom3 says:

    Only the inbred redneck
“authoritarian followers” are going to believe this BS.

The other 70% of the US will be wathcing Spike Lee’s movie and remembering what REALLY happened

  22. nym@alias.net says:

    increase the volumn.

    spread your msg.

do not think others will do your job.

    your help is needed.

  23. Punchy says:

Media blitz? You mean, with pictures of dead people floating, the squalor of the convention center, or rampant looting and confusion? Can’t wait!

  24. Wayne A. Schneider says:

    Tom3,

Looks like you’ve been reading John W. Dean’s latest book, too.

  25. Ronin Tetsuro says:

Get the message out. Refuse to shut up. And remember who lies when you go to vote.

Those three things are the last, best hope for America.

  26. Trinary Suka says:

    Bush poll at 36%

Why do the Faux Coulter Republicans hate 64% of America and 75% of the World?

  27. Rebel With A Cause says:

You got it right. Dipshit Rockey is a puke operative. This idea was not his, it was Karl Roves. The RNC sent him, via FEDEX a large packet of 50 dollar bills to buy the trailer he hauled up to DC, and to pay for all his expenses.

Dont believe it. It will all come out soon!

  28. DeeLuzon says:

i think there SHOULD be a media blitz each day and for weeks/months/however long to commemrate that “it’s been one year and [fill in the number] days since the levees failed and still the garbage hasn’t been picked up but the developers are drawing up plans, the schools haven’t been opened for all kids but billions of dollars have been paid to out-of-town corporations…”

  29. Rebel With A Cause says:

BTW – the next two weeks are going to be taken up CELEBRATING 911 and CELEBRATING Katrina. Be prepared.

George Bush and the pukes in congress, you know, the candidates on the Al Qaeda ticket, will come up with some great ideas for your entertainment.

  30. budpaul says:

I’m sure the folks still living in FEMA trailers will enjoy that.

    America’s Least Wanted

  31. Roger says:

Luckily, it seems this cornball stunt hasn’t gotten much play in the MSM. Of course FOX ‘news’ will pick it up and run with it, but most of the website I’ve visited hardly mention it.

  32. Audie says:

Im sure the folks in the fema trailers are lovin it, yeah, we’ve never had it so good.

  33. WaltTheMan says:

Did anyone check out my link in post 19? I have access to NYT sites because my daughter-in-law works there. If one checks out all of the attached links, one can see that W has not only abandoned Iraq and Afghanistan, he has abandoned America as well.

  34. WaltTheMan says:

Sorry about link, it should have read link. Macular degeneration sucks. Just ask just about anyone over sixty-five.

  35. Zooey says:

Have they identified all the bodies in NO yet? Just sayin’

  36. For Truth says:

Have all the bodies actually been found in New Orleans?

  37. Zooey says:

That’s a better question, For Truth.

Have you heard anything about a counter-public relations blitz? It would be SO easy to embarass the crap out of BushCo over this.

  38. TR says:

Oh boy, Bush talking to handpicked victims of Katrina. Do ya think he’ll have a big banner behind him saying “Mission Accomplished”?

  39. WaltTheMan says:

First priority – restock the libraries? Who will be around to read the books? Somewhere a rocker is missing a man.

  40. Hee Haw, tomorrow is the day... says:

There’s a pie chart over on CNN about the Government’s effort to rebuild after Katrina. Can’t provide a link, but if you click on Politics, under More News are two links: one is crap about Bush saying it’ll take time, the other is the poll. Here are the numbers:

Question: Thinking about the efforts the federal government is making to rebuild areas damaged by Hurricane Katrina, do you think the federal government is doing too much, is doing the right amount, or has not done enough?

    Too Much: 10%
    Doing the Right Amount: 31%
    Not Done Enough: 56%
    No Opinion: 3%

SAMPLE: Interviews with 517 adult Americans conducted via telephone August 18-20, by Opinion Research Corporation. SAMPLING ERROR: +/- 4.5% points

I just love Bushies statement: “But I also want people to remember that a one-year anniversary is just that, because it’s going to require a long time to help these people rebuild.”

Cripes, in most situations, the one-year anniversary is a milestone on how things are going to continue.

    What a maroon.

  41. martin says:

Yeah good one, thats what needs more allocation: PR funding. We’ll slander them hurricanes so hard they wont dare show their faces on American soil again.

  42. Bruce Gorton says:

The night the levees stood one New Orleans night
Enter Katrina their protection was too light
The Mayor was screaming for help but none came
In the end it was he they would blame
    Even as no help came

    Three nights Kathy Blanco begged
In the end they had her pegged
She had to go onto CNN TV
Make a crack about asking for soldiers in RV’s
    Before a single one came
This is the story of the hurricane
And the people that are to blame
    For what was never done
When the Republicans cut funding to the engineers
    To fund their war-greed fears

Meanwhile Bush was on his Texas ranch
Clearing it of scrub and branch
    Playing the cowboy president
    Not a Whitehouse resident
It took two days before he came
This is the story of the hurricane
And the people that are to blame
    For what was never done
When the Republicans cut funding to the engineers
    To fund their war-greed fears

Mike Brown was called a clown
As he tried to look around
Hell of job but it wasn’t gonna slide
He took the rap for his side
As he tried to Blanco shame
This is the story of the hurricane
And the people that are to blame
    For what was never done
When the Republicans cut funding to the engineers
    To fund their war-greed fears

And still the Democrats are responsible
How can you blame the less able
    Government of their choice
That government that mutes your voice
    They got their elected reign

  43. Grand Moff Texan says:

White House planning Katrina “public relations blitz” for next week.

Hah! Just when you thought there were no new good comedies this season.
