The “Boat People” (aka Collaborators escaping justice) was what, 20-30 years ago? Didin’t it occur immediately after the cessation of dozens of years of warfare and hundreds of years of foreign occupation? It apparently doesn’t seem to have been an issue since then, though.

I think after a few hundred years of foreign rule, a people should have at least a decade to sort things out. It took Americans what, 80 years to officialy live up to the ideals of their revolution (”all men are created equal”) at least another 100 years before they started living the official line. So it took Americans almost 200 years to figure things out following their revolution, if the Vietnamese do it in a couple dozen years, that makes them at least a magnitude more intelligent and forward thinking than Americans.

Its also pretty easy for Colonial Slavers, like Americans, to demean the people that had just thrown off the yoke of foreign pillagers. But let’s see if Americans have the freedom to hold an anti-Bush sign up on the side of the road when Bush passes by in his armored motorcade.

Even Hitler could ride in an open top car safelty among the German people, but in the “free” United States, the Dear Leader hides behind bulletproof glass and hundreds of armed thugs, while the citizens are herded into cages (aka Free Speech Zones). Its just like the freedom Soviets had to relocate to Siberia if they said anything against their Dear Leader.

Americans should worry about freedom at home before worrying about it anywhere else on earth.
