Now that’s a group of guys that only a mother could love. A white mother that is. Of all the things going on in the world how does hating someone because of their skin color provide positive results? Dislike people because of how they act…especially towards others and maybe we will start to get somewhere.
I’m afraid that the picture could actually help among his base and with the NRA folks, with Heston in the picture. One picture to connect him with Heston. A thousand words to connect him with the white supremacy agenda.
Among his base, that photo is a ringing endorement.

Those that think that racism is a good thing were going to vote for him anyway… so this move will not help him.
It’s not like there’s a large group of people that were going to vote for Webb until they found out what an openly racist person Allen was… if this shifts votes it will only shift them in one direction.
Baum, for his part, maintains that Keene and CPAC’s attendees were well aware of his group’s racial views. “David Keene, he knew who we were,” Baum told me. “I mean, you have Confederate flags on each sides of your booth–like, duh. But after the proverbial you-know-what hit the fan, he didn’t want us there.” (Baum said he “finagled” tickets for the 2006 CPAC convention and promoted the CCC from behind the National Rifle Association’s booth.)
“Take your hands off my gun, you damn, dirty ape!”
A fitting tribute to Heston’s legacy. I now look at his sci-fi movies in a new, NRA-influenced light. The first, “Planet of the Apes” is about blacks gaining political and military power; “Soylent Green,” is a libertarian howl against authoritarian, nanny-state corpratism (sp); and “The Omega Man” is the extreme version of republicans’ “I got mine” ideology.
Actually, Mary and Trip — we Virginians are trying very hard to vote this racist out of office. Virginia is slowly turning from red to blue, particularly in the Northern Virginia suburbs of DC which is one of the largest population centers in the commonwealth; lots of energy to get rid of rethuglicans who somehow have long thought that they’re entitled to their offices simply because Virginia has long voted red.
It may take some time, but Virginia is slowly being brought into the land of the enlightened. We’re working hard — so you don’t have to! Keep your fingers crossed…
This is no suprise, to me and most likely to his base. I ahve to agree that this will most likely help his campaign, not hurt it. The tide of racism is rising once again in the States, and there are Republican constituients ready (some eager) to ride it.
There’s a lot of things in the States that are based on less than sterling beginnings. Ever ask yourself why black people distrust the police force? Here’s a hint: the police started as an orginaization who’s sole purpose was to bounty hunt escaped slaves.
#1: “I hope the people in Virginia have enough sense to vote this idiot out of office.” – - Umm, this could be a selling point for Allen in the Commonwealth of Virginia, especially the southern part.
This pic may fly in Virginia but Allen has thoughts of running for the White House (irony/pun you decide). This won’t fly for mainstream america. He can put his bid for Prez. to bed now.
I always wonder why on earth these ugly pinkist fat White Men think that they are anything to which anyone should aspire. They’re almost always corrupt as all hell, vain, falsely claiming to be “Good Christians” when all the while they’ve got their mistresses lined up at the Motel 6 and they refuse to acknowledge their illegitimate children. Their minds are as closed as their hearts are. They are nothing to emulate. They aren’t even worth associating with…that is, unless you are one of them.
Racism and bigotry should be exposed to the light of day – the msm should inform the general public. I am sure that there are miscreants in Virginia who would be proud to stand in that picture, but it is my hope that people are moving away from that kind of thinking.
Last week, Allen’s comment slipped from his mouth so quickly and with such ease that it was apparently very comfortable and routine for him. This picture adds credence to that.
I hope the people in Virginia have enough sense to vote this idiot out of office.

And that is precisely the problem.

August 30th, 2006 at 12:39 pmThis is overblown. There are any number of innocent explanations for this, and my staff is thinking of more right now.
