August 31st, 2006 at 9:46 amSen. Conrad Burns, R-Mont., has been named one of the 13 “most corrupt” members of Congress by a Washington, D.C., group that Republicans accuse of having close ties to the Democratic Party.
Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington cites Burns’ relationship with Republican lobbyist Jack Abramoff, who has been indicted on criminal charges.
It specifically points to Burns’ involvement in awarding a $3 million federal grant for poor tribal schools to the Saginaw Chippewa tribe of Michigan, one of the nation’s richest tribes and Abramoff’s client.
It also cites a trip two of the senator’s staffers took to the Super Bowl on a jet leased by Abramoff.
Now Senator Burns wouldn’t have a reason to try to obfuscate the whole situation here, “I’m a crook but the taxicab drivers will blow up your kids!”. Not only is Burns a crook, but here’s another example of racism. We ALL know only “ARABS” drive cabs. Let’s stop being nice and respond to these idiots with the truth every time them open their fat sloppy mouths. Conrad you’re a crook, a liar, a ferar monger, and a racist!

And can Sen Burns point to even one of these alleged terrorists that drive taxicabs by day and kill at night? Didn’t think so. Just another “factoid” that he must have pulled out of his ass.
He also spoke of “the need to vote for like-minded politicans.” Well, this just shows that the Republican Party does not believe in diversity of opinion. To them, it’s more imprtant that you obey your leaders and do what you’re told, than to dare to have an original thought in your head.
Why do Americans continue to elect useless people like this to Congress?

Actually, I realized the Burns and Allen connection when I typed it, so I inserted George before Allen, then I realized that George was Burns’ first name! There was no getting around it. Some of the younger here might have sailed past it, but not much gets past you, Wayne!

Wayne: To answer your question on why people like Burns get elected, read the Billings Gazette link above and click on the comments of readers in Billings. Scary ignorant stuff there. To be fair to the Gazette, they do post some negative comments on Burns.

I mean, it’s hard to picture some guy with ho face and just a pair of eyes hanging there, in mid-air. ‘N if they don’t have eyes, I really don’t think they should be driving any type of vehicle, let alone a taxicab.
And, how do they build their bombs at night, or figure out where to detonate them?
This whole faceless thing has really gotten me confused.

I heard that Laura Bush ran a stop sign/traffic light (I don’t know which) and crashed into her ex-boyfriend, though I don’t know if he was her ex-boyfriend before she killed him or after. But who was the other person she killed and when? Was it the same accident? Inquiring minds want to know.
