Sorry, I am a bit slow today….Good post HoChi Min…..
Bush and company don’t give a rat’s ass about these children or our’s, note the debt he and his bunch have saddled all our’s with for how many generation’s just for his war’s and the hundred’s of thousands all over the world that are now orphans, maimed and killed. Take into account all the children of our military that are now with out a parent. This evil basterd has never even attended a funeral of a fallen service person. None of his administration has either and untill he was caught rummy wasen’t even signing the letter’s sent out to the survivors…..Cut all their benefit’s and keep on with his unjust war.
This bunch in the administration only care about power and control. They play to their base and fight against abortion and stem cell just for the extreme relegious right. Fact is they don’t care one little bit about the living unless they are in their small circle of elite and all powerful..Life has no meaning to this evil bunch except for their use to gain more power…..We have the sickest most evil bunch in office I have ever seen….They are no better than the terrorists they claim to be after……Save the children, throw out this administration……..Blessings……Peace
I agree, Sharon — and I remember, too.
Rummy will say something like stuff happens, and collateral damage and bullshit like that.
Bush will claim he is the family values man, who attends church, and follows his god’s laws.
He cannot persuade me that any god would condone the killing and deprivation of children.
Perverted war mongers — and the perverted brainwashed robots who follow them.
May they all receive their just punishment.
Like I told our old friend Squeegy, the right will gladly help you into the ditch, but it’s the left who will go down into the ditch, make sure you’re ok, and bring you out.
They stormed the stage, Fox walked out and gave his address to the nation on television.
Well, in fact, that was benefic for Fox. He would rather avoid the speech because he would have been booed a lot…which has already happened. Thats not the important issue. Fox is a nobody.
Once GWB and his goons put you into a grave, there’s nothing the left can do for you. We have to get him out of there NOW. How many more bodies will will GWB be standing on in 2008?
Good Morning Zooey, Juan C and all…I will be most pleased the day we can say “he’s a nobody” about this bush administration and all their supporters….That will be a banner day. I may even dance in the street’s….
Suprised you are up and at it so early after the late night you all had on the snake eyed guy’s thread….Wow! I read the rest of the junk this morning…That troll (Scarface is weird).
Bull shit is on with his radio address again this morning, damn I am sick of his crap…Now they are going to moniter all the new’s media and change to suit their own spin, never mind the truth..
Mean while more people all over the world loose their lives and more children will be orphens…Blessings…….Peace
You’re so right, Zooey, It’s worth repeating.
The right will see you fallen in a ditch and say, Well, you’ve gotten yourself into a fix, haven’t you? Too bad.
The left will climb down, give you first aid, and help you get out.
Now, we are all in a ditch in Iraq (as well as here at home) and Bus&Co are saying, too bad – but stay there and see what happens.
The left says, let’s help each other out of here, and start making repairs.
Sharon, did you hear the chimp in chief say this morning (paraphrased) we are fighting them in Iraq so we don’t have to fight them here?
I guess if it worked once for him he thinks it will work a few dozen more times.
Who can sleep with all this great weather you’re sending me? 8/31, I had frost on my car windows, can you believe that?
I’m driving up the river today to see my parents, and I’m not watching any news. They’ll have Fox blaring anyway, so I can find out what’s really going on in the world. :{
Did you like how I got rid of that Scarface? Poor For Truth, I had him a bit confused. :)
That was the point I was making to Squeegy, when he was talking shit about how the left were suckers. After my “ditch analogy” he lightened up and we became friendly. I miss Spongey Head.
This shows how you can use numbers to lie. So after killing hundreds of thousands, rampant Iraqi on Iraqi violence this story would lead you believe there are 1000 orphans in Iraqi “orphanages”. But you know that among 25 million people there HAS TO BE more than 1000 orphans. But I presume the idea that there are 1000 “orphans” and they even “live in orphanages” is designed to give the impression things are “not SO bad”.
Good post’s Marie, sorry I am so slow this morning. Bear had me up late for an unscheduled walk and I can’t seem to wake up…Oh well! I’ll get over it, maybe take a nap.LOL…
One of the worst thing’s along with all this is the loss of entire famalies and generation’s of people…..War’s and distructions of entire tribes of people and famalies is a dreadful thing..All these orphans and wounded children will be absent of the family heritage and nurtering needed to cope and survive…They will be subject to more exploitation and could likely grow up to be future terrorests….The worst administration in our history is creating more bad affects by their actions and they do not care because they want their base to think they are going for the armagedon….Non relegious people like me think it is a load of crap but the believers go along with any one proclaiming to “talk to god”. I hear voices to, in my head, but it isn’t from a god it’s common sence wispering to me what’s good and what’s bad…………Blessings…….Peace, save the children..
BAGHDAD – Orphans in Iraq, who often lack protection, food supplies and medical assistance, require urgent assistance, according to officials at the Orphans Houses Department at the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs.
“Orphaned children have become a very serious issue,” said department director Abeer Mahdi al-Chalabi. “We have 23 orphanages with limited capacity, capable of housing only about 1,600 orphans.”
Although there are seven orphanages in the capital, Baghdad, and another 16 in other provinces, “they aren’t enough to provide assistance to all the orphans in the country”, said al-Chalabi. She went on to point out that the increase in the number of orphans countrywide was an inevitable result of the bombings, assassinations and sectarian violence currently plaguing the country.
According to a 2005 report issued by the US Agency for International Development (USAID), there were some 5,000 orphans in the capital alone, many of whom have been ostracised by society and have little hope of finding education or shelter.
So from this 2005 report from a nonpartisan USAID report alone, the story is a lie.
Is the “blue mood” prevailing this weekend? I, too, feel so sad and angry. Someone reminded me to “fly the flag” and frankly, I just don’t feel like it.
I feel my country, all it stands for, and the Constitution and the Bill of Rights have been hijacked by the Bush cabal, aided and abetted by the toadies in congress, and tacitly allowed by the media and its corporate owners. It makes me want to cry when I think of how we were once respected and admired (even in spite of some historical facts that were shameful), but all that has been lost; the future is bleak. I don’t think my children/grandchildren will know the same America as I, and that makes me sad as though at a funeral. Bush has sent us on a downward spiral; our very democracy is threatened, yet he claims his critics are fascists. The blatant lies, the arrogance, the ignorance, and the belligerence have despoiled the office of the president in far, far more profound ways than anything I have witnessed — and I include Nixon, Clinton, and everyone since Truman. The events of 9/11 were tragic, yes, but the decline of America began shortly thereafter, and not at the hands of any terrorists.
All my life I have choked up at the national anthem and other patriotic songs and events; today I am numb, sometimes angry.
When America is restored (if ever it is) then I will proudly display a flag – today, the spirit is just not in me.
Marie, Yep! That’s another one of his special phrases, all of this happy bunch of war mongers have thrown it around freely for some time now. I would like to see the secret service pull up in front of my house with the drunk druggie in tow to see me…Yep! I’de show the crazy basterd what it is like to fight here instead of over there. One bitch slap to the face of the crawford coward, dleivered by a true patriot might do him some good..
Zooey. The tub thing was priceless…Clearly we are dealing with some strange troll’s..Their mind’s don’t seem capable of individule thinking…I think many of them are quite young along with stupid…….Well, you all have a great day….Are you going to fly down and catch BnF in his Kilt.?…LOL..Now that’s something I would like to see….Wonder if it’s going to be a windy day in California….One can only hope…..LOL. Sorry BnF I just had to add that..At my age my mind wonders a lot….LOL again…..Blessings…..Peace for all the children of the world..
Great post Marie and Thank you for the complament…….You along with many of us here feel the very same way..That’s why I put my flag upside down before the 4th of July and why it is still up side down…I do know exactly how you fell, I am ashamed of my own country for the cowardece we have shown in not throwing the bum’s out…Just remember it ain’t over untill the fat lady sing’s….Although I am not realy fat and can’t sing a note when we get this mess turned around we will be singing and dancing in the street’s….
What state do you live in.?…Sorry can’t remember anything much today, sleep deprevation…….Blessings
I live in a very Republican county in suburban Chicago, IL. We are attempting to turn the tide to Democrats and have increased our numbers each year, but this year, the thugs who run the Election Commission bought Diebold machines, so I don’t think we Dems will ever get above 45% – they will see to it.
Marie, Can you go absentee.? If so, pramote that and demand paper trails….I have been absentee balott votin for years……Do all you can, even small step’s have a huge impact….Blessings today and every day….Peace, we must save the people of the world..
Yeah, Sharon, I can do absentee, but I think I will do so in person because I have worked as a judge and a pollwatcher and I don’t trust these guys as far as I can throw them. My letters are frequently in the newspapers. I participate in the local Dem organization. So I am doing what I can, but I am not hopeful.
Excerpts from Howard Zinn in the Boston Globe today.
The history of wars fought since the end of World War II reveals the futility of large-scale violence. The United States and the Soviet Union, despite their enormous firepower, were unable to defeat resistance movements in small, weak nations — the United States in Vietnam, the Soviet Union in Afghanistan — and were forced to withdraw.
Even the “victories” of great military powers turn out to be elusive. Presumably, after attacking and invading Afghanistan, the president was able to declare that the Taliban were defeated. But more than four years later, Afghanistan is rife with violence, and the Taliban are active in much of the country.
War in our time inevitably results in the indiscriminate killing of large numbers of people. To put it more bluntly, war is terrorism. That is why a “war on terrorism” is a contradiction in terms. Wars waged by nations are a hundred times more deadly for innocent people than the attacks by terrorists, vicious as they are.
The repeated excuse, given by Pentagon spokespersons for dropping bombs where ordinary people live is that terrorists hide among civilians. Therefore the killing of innocent people is called accidental, whereas the deaths caused by terrorists (on 9/11) are deliberate.
This is a false distinction, quickly refuted with a bit of thought. If a bomb is deliberately dropped on a house or a vehicle on the grounds that a “suspected terrorist” is inside (note the frequent use of the word suspected), the resulting deaths of women and children may not be intentional. But neither are they accidental. The proper description is “inevitable.”
So if an action will inevitably kill innocent people, it is as immoral as a deliberate attack on civilians. And when you consider that the number of innocent people dying inevitably in “accidental” events has been far, far greater than all the deaths deliberately caused by terrorists, one must reject war as a solution for terrorism.
For instance, more than a million civilians in Vietnam were killed by US bombs, presumably by “accident.” Add up all the terrorist attacks throughout the world in the 20th century and they do not equal that awful toll.
If reacting to terrorist attacks by war is inevitably immoral, then we must look for ways other than war to end terrorism, including the terrorism of war.
Hey let’s turn the question around just for interest sake. How many US kids have lost a parent(s) lost due to the Iraq war? How many orphaned American children is this bastard president creating?
Dateline: December, 2004
America’s sons and daughters traditionally fight our Nation’s wars. In Iraq, however, an unprecedented number of those sons and daughters are also moms and dads. As the casualty reports continue to mount, a Scripps Howard News Service report finds that almost 900 U.S. children have lost at least one parent to the Iraq war.
I am wonder if this has to do with the number of orphanges that we have built? No that couldn’t be it bscause prior to the U.S. invasion ALL Iraqi kids had a mom and dad.
#41- Zooey, You tell him, Tiger! Aside from the obvious fact (or it should be) that every human on this planet had a Mom and a Dad (DUH!), or at least a doner, there is no way in hell that we have built a single orphanage in Iraq. The only things we have built there, are for our use, The Embassy, the military bases, and a brand new prison. All of those multi-billion dollar, no-bid contracts we handed out for the restoration of the Iraqi infrastructure have yet to be completed, and some even started, because they have run out of money, because they had to spend so much on ’security’. And now they are back, with their hands out asking for more money, to finish the jobs. And apparently we don’t even give the few orphanages they do have, any financial assistance. This is just so wrong, and they don’t care, they never did.
There are over 10 million children under 14 in Iraq.
That means the rate of children in orphanages has changed from 0.000% to 0.000%.
Really WTF was the point of this ?
Surely you could figure out yourself that after a full scale military invasion, 3 years of foreign military occupation and a bloody civil war that an increase of only 600 kids in orphanages is a figure that everyone holding a gun in Iraq can be pretty damn proud of.
Every cloud has a acid rain lining eh ?
It would be just to turn Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, Rice, Kristol, & the other neocons of this war over to those kids whose parents were killed in the war. poetic justice.

September 2nd, 2006 at 12:23 pmI live in a very Republican county in suburban Chicago, IL. We are attempting to turn the tide to Democrats and have increased our numbers each year, but this year, the thugs who run the Election Commission bought Diebold machines, so I don’t think we Dems will ever get above 45% – they will see to it.
September 2nd, 2006 at 12:35 pmMarie, Can you go absentee.? If so, pramote that and demand paper trails….I have been absentee balott votin for years……Do all you can, even small step’s have a huge impact….Blessings today and every day….Peace, we must save the people of the world..
September 2nd, 2006 at 12:59 pmOnly one thousand orphans in Iraq? All the bombings must have killed most of the orphans,
September 2nd, 2006 at 1:42 pmor they were sold as sex slaves to Saudi Arabia?
Yeah, Sharon, I can do absentee, but I think I will do so in person because I have worked as a judge and a pollwatcher and I don’t trust these guys as far as I can throw them. My letters are frequently in the newspapers. I participate in the local Dem organization. So I am doing what I can, but I am not hopeful.
September 2nd, 2006 at 1:42 pmExcerpts from Howard Zinn in the Boston Globe today.
September 2nd, 2006 at 1:48 pmHey let’s turn the question around just for interest sake. How many US kids have lost a parent(s) lost due to the Iraq war? How many orphaned American children is this bastard president creating?
Dateline: December, 2004
September 2nd, 2006 at 2:18 pmAmerica’s sons and daughters traditionally fight our Nation’s wars. In Iraq, however, an unprecedented number of those sons and daughters are also moms and dads. As the casualty reports continue to mount, a Scripps Howard News Service report finds that almost 900 U.S. children have lost at least one parent to the Iraq war.
Great post’s Marie and bones….Thank You….Blessings
September 2nd, 2006 at 4:50 pmI am wonder if this has to do with the number of orphanges that we have built? No that couldn’t be it bscause prior to the U.S. invasion ALL Iraqi kids had a mom and dad.
September 2nd, 2006 at 6:47 pmShut your pie hole, RRS.
September 2nd, 2006 at 9:02 pm#41- Zooey, You tell him, Tiger!
September 3rd, 2006 at 6:15 amThere are over 10 million children under 14 in Iraq.
That means the rate of children in orphanages has changed from 0.000% to 0.000%.
Really WTF was the point of this ?
September 4th, 2006 at 6:02 amSurely you could figure out yourself that after a full scale military invasion, 3 years of foreign military occupation and a bloody civil war that an increase of only 600 kids in orphanages is a figure that everyone holding a gun in Iraq can be pretty damn proud of.
Every cloud has a acid rain lining eh ?
