Fox Analyst: New Tape Shows Al Qaeda Using ‘All of the Antiwar Arguments’ And ‘Turning Them Back Against Us’

Early today, Al Qaeda #2 Ayman al-Zawahiri issued a new videotape in which he appeared alongside a man “identified as an American member of the terror network.”

Within minutes, Fox News brought on right-wing author Richard Miniter to provide expert analysis of the video. Miniter said that “what’s striking” about Zawahiri “is that he’s using a lot of the same rhetoric as the antiwar crowd. He refers to President Bush as a liar and a defeated president…They call him a failure, an incompetent.”

Also in the tape, Zawahiri says “Bush was foolish to turn down the truce offered by Osama bin Laden as an honorable way out.” Miniter said this claim and others is what “Michael Moore and John Kerry were saying a year ago,” and now al Qaeda is “turning them back against us.”

Full transcript:

MINITER: Absolutely, this is designed for the September 11th anniversary. But also what’s striking, if you read the transcript of this tape — and I should say the CIA has not yet confirmed that this is indeed the voice of al-Zawahiri, although I think we have to presume that it is — is that he’s using a lot of the same rhetoric as the antiwar crowd. He refers to President Bush as a liar and a defeated president, hinting that somehow the election in 2000 was illegitimate. They call him a failure, an incompetent. These are the kinds of things that the antiwar crowd has been saying. Also on the tape, he says that Bush was foolish to turn down the truce offered by Osama bin Laden as an honorable way out, and says if the United States is winning, why is it debating a timetable for withdrawal from Iraq? Again, this is all something that they are picking up from the world media, all of the antiwar arguments, and they’re are turning them back against us. Zawahiri is saying what Michael Moore and John Kerry were saying a year ago.

Al Queda speaks the truth then Bush does speak with forked tongue

  2. Dave says:

I think this invitation to conversion is a prelude to another major attack. Bin Laden was criticised by muslims for not offering this chance before 9/11.

Regarding Miniter and Fox, it’s interesting to see that they are on the same side of the political spectrum as Al Qaeda. They are in favor of continued Bush/GOP policy, although for different reasons.

  3. bones says:

Remember Al Queda wanted the republicans to win because they are incompetant. With November coming up Al Queda doesn’t want the democrats pulling the troops out of Iraq and sending those same troops after Al Queda, so it’s time for reverse psychology – “We at Al Queda call your president names and you Americans will get upset and vote Republican” time.

You hit the spot! Genius! We are Al-Qaeda and so are Michael Moore, Chomsky, as was John Paul II, and millions of christians, atheists and intellectuals all over the world.

  6. WORFEUS says:

I must admit I am really impressed.

I am really impressed how just 2 short days after the President and the Secretary of Defense deliver a new national message calling anyone who disagrees with the war facists and supporters of terrorism, that Al Quaida was NICE enough to come out and help reinforce that message.

    What timing.

I mean right when the Presidents message of condemnation to anti-war protestors is being criticized by so many and so strongly, here comes ole Al Quaida with another video tape, to help drive the Presidents message home.

    Damn nice of them.

    :|

You know, if I didn’t know better I’d say Ayman al-Zawahiri has a little crush on ole Dubya.

  7. WORFEUS says:

Oh but I’m sure its just a coincidence.

    :|

Just like the last 5 times.

  8. tablogloid says:

al Zawahiri on Bush:”They call him a failure, an incompetent.”

Breaking news: 70% of Americans agree with the Al Quaeda spokesmullah.
    That’s a large anti-war crowd, Mr. Miniter

  9. rkrider says:

Shouldn’t the queston be, why is this guy still running free? I’m sure he’s not in Iraq.

  10. Juan C says:

and I should say the CIA has not yet confirmed that this is indeed the voice of al-Zawahiri, although I think we have to presume that it is

Dont worry about that. CIA will knock Osama´s door in a Penthouse at the 5th avenue and hand him the new script. The cameras will be ready just as the cave-like background. The swedish escorts will leave and then they will begin rolling another “terrorist” tape. Uh! Go shopping, America!

  11. WORFEUS says:

Jaun, I’m beginning to wonder dude.

    I’m beginning to wonder.

  12. Southwest Bob says:

Defending bush/cheney/rove against the “reality” enemy is task number one for the repubs. The rove republicans need to keep saying that without sustaining their great startegy against the war on terror, there is little doubt but that terrorists will set off bombs in all the bedrooms of Americans next week.

  13. dpotts says:

Fox doesn’t seem to realize that two separate groups can reach the truth on their own. They’re more used to dealing with lies that must be spread person to person as to keep the story straight.

  14. Juan C says:

    I’m beginning to wonder.

Ok. Maybe I lie a little.

  15. Go Back To Sleep America says:

Don’t you think it’s just the most amazingly coincidental timing? Just HAPPENS to be before elections… who wants to take bets something will happen, just in time to help save the Republicans and give them a boost in the polls?!

Why is it the only people who seem to have anything to gain from these things are the chickenhawks?? Pure coincidence… right? Yeah right…

  16. WORFEUS says:

I’m serious Jaun. I really am beginning to wonder just who these Al Qauida leaders are that seem to release a video tape EVERY TIME BUSH NEEDS ONE RELEASED to sell his messages.

    EVERY SINGLE TIME!!!!!!!!!!

    Its like a “coordinated message”.

This week Bush comes out with his new message calling all Anti War protesters “Supporters of the Terrorists”.

Simeultaneously Rumsfelds is out delivering the same message.

Then, magically Al Quaida releases a video tape that can help the President reinforce his message, drawing parallels between those who oppose the war and the words of Ayman al-Zawahiri.

  17. WORFEUS says:

Its like they have a NETFLIX account with Al Quaida.

He refers to President Bush as a liar and a defeated president…They call him a failure, an incompetent.”
    End Quote #1

Well…Bush IS incompetent and a liar. He’s an incompetent liar. To say he’s not an incompetent liar is a lie, though not necessarily an incompetent one. Despite a patriotic desire to refute anything al Queda says, we may as well disagree with them when they say “The sky is blue” or “It gets hot in the desert” or “Paris Hilton is kind of a whore.” Really, how can we effectively argue against any of those statements? We should do the opposite and work towards either making this President act less like a boob, OR elect ourselvs a President who is less of a boob.

    Quote #2
Also in the tape, Zawahiri says “Bush was foolish to turn down the truce offered by Osama bin Laden as an honorable way out.” Miniter said this claim and others is what “Michael Moore and John Kerry were saying a year ago,” and now al Qaeda is “turning them back against us.”

Can anyone link me to the article or interview where Moore and/or Kerrey said we should accept a truce with bin Laden? Anywhere? Because this sounds like oh-so-much horsehit to me.

Is there a need to rise and protest this absolute control machine , They are the blitz krieg of the 21 st century . Karl Rove , Rumsfelft must have attended nazi seminars and prepare for this take over, coup d’etat , for years.

And I suppose Bush’s comment about “I don’t really think much about bin Laden,” and the fact that B.L. is still alive has nothing to do with it.

  27. EconAtheist says:

Exactly… by their faulty and emotional logic you can anyone to anyone else just because they agree upon things that are true.

For example, Ann Coulter and Michael Moore both probably agree that the sky is blue on a non-cloudy day at noon…

I really don’t get the people who fall for their kind of nonsense.

  32. George says:

  33. WORFEUS says:

    Its not just that UnB.

    Its the TIMING of this.

I mean come on. This President has been on the ropes and suddenly he comes out swinging, calling all those who oppose is war (the majority of America) facists and terrorists sympathizers, and SUDDENLY, the SAME WEEK, Al Quaida releases a new vidoe tape that REINFORCES his MESSAGE?

  36. Dave von Ebers says:

I love the way Bush, Rumsfeld, et al., are so concerned with everything the Islamic extremists have to say. Me, I think for myself, and I don’t worry whether Osama “agrees” with me or not. I don’t let al Qaeda tell me what to think or what not to think. This administration, however, has allowed the bad guys to determine its every action for the past 5 years. Nice to know our policy is being set by some nutbag living in a cave … or a penthouse on 5th Avenue, as Juan suggests.

They’re so keen on comparing al Qaeda to the Nazis. Do they realize that Hitler did more than just write “Mein Kampf”? Do they realize that he wrote “Mein Kampf” and then re-armed the German military, invaded Poland and France, slaughtered at least 9 million in the Holocaust…

Anyway, I could give a rat’s sphincter what al Qaeda has to say; why does Fox News care?

  37. Chris Wolf says:

Neither bin Laden nor Bush could survive very long without the other.
Theirs is a completely symbiotic relationship.

  38. unbelievable says:

I thought the timing of teh release of tapes was pretty evident in October 2004 when they released a tape just before the November elections…

I don’t think Osama is on the Neocon pay roll. But I do think they have this very ill, sociopathic relationship of feeding off one another to stay in the limelight – which is why neither has assassinated the other – and won’t.

Osama wants neocons in power because it meets his goal of destroying America, which makes him a martyr.

Bush wants Osama running free to be the constant boogeyman under the bed that will keep the American ‘children’ dependent of his war-mongering.

It’s a sick relationship those two have. I am concerned for what Osama will do, and Bush will allow to happen this October as the Republicans sink lower in the polls every day, and we are just two months away from D-day.

  39. Tobey Tall says:

    September 1, 2006
    Iran satisfied with IAEA report

Iran has welcomed the report by the International Atomic Energy Agency as evidence of its cooperation with the U.N. nuclear watchdog.

Foreign Ministry spokesman Hamid Reza Asafi was quoted by the Iranian news agency IRNA Friday as saying “a large part of the report shows Iran’s large cooperation with the IAEA and its inspectors.”

IAEA chief Mohammed el-Baradei issued a report Thursday in which he said Iran is still enriching uranium, but there is no tangible proof that its nuclear program has a military aspect.

“The report clearly indicated that Iran honored its commitments within the framework of international resolution and the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty and is ready to continue on that path regarding the remaining few points still pending,” Asafi said.

He stressed that Iran’s nuclear activities are “transparent, open, peaceful and far from any ambiguity, which makes settling Iran’s nuclear issue easy through negotiations.”

Asafi noted that the IAEA report stressed the need to follow reason and avoid unjust action “despite the pressures exerted by the United States and the uproar provoked in international circles.”

Iran ignored a United Nations Security Council deadline, which expired at midnight Thursday, to suspend uranium enrichment or face international sanctions.

Asafi reiterated Iran’s readiness to continue negotiations with the five permanent members of the Security Council and Germany; the group offered Tehran a package of economic incentives in return for stopping uranium enrichment.

“Iran believes that holding negotiations and respecting Iran’s legitimate rights will lead to achieving a just solution that suits all parties,” Asafi added.

This is a warning shot. We are being given a get out clause: convert to Islam or die. It is their way of being nice. I think this means they will launch another wave of attacks sometime soon. It is time to lay it on the line with muslims in the west: are you going to obey the law and not be a fifth column, or are you just a supporter of al Qaeda? And if you are, we shall then need to put you in a detention facility until such time that you can be made ’safe’.

I’d like to view the tape myself and make my own opinion. I surely don’t need some fox opinion monger explainging how this tape creates the argument that the “anti-war movement emboldens the terrorists.” It should be clear that the Bush Administration, with it’s narrow minded policy, is the true instigator in this situation. You can’t trust a snake can ya’, islamic or American. Their both deadly.

I try to avoid the conspiracy theories though. The word itself, for me, is always associated with “Moon Landing Hoax” thinking…

I’m sure something is wrong, but I think it’s just what Osama experts have been saying – that he wants Republicans in power so he can fuel his agenda of getting the world to hate and destroy us. It doesn’t work so well for him if John Kerry had managed to remove the troops by now… and worked out diplomatic resolutions with Iran… and all that other liberal peaceful stuff the fascists like Osama and Heir Bush hate.

  47. Marie says:

So Al Qaeda observes Bush, declares him a liar and incompetent — and somehow, that reinforces the White House claim (and Fox-TV) that we, who disagree with Bush, are like Al Qaeda.
I guess that means the majority of Americans.
As WORFEUS said above, this is just so convenient! So accommodating of Al Qaeda to criticize Bush personally at this critical time. And how astute of Fox to note the similarity. It just goes to show you that we are all terrorist supporters if we disagree with Bush.
There it is! They said it – it must be true.

Someone help me out here – I think Afghanistan offered up OBL, but Bush turned it down. We frequently hear that Clinton’s attempt to kill him failed (because OBL was surrounded by friendly to America family members). And the Republican congress would never have supported that.

  48. Rebel With A Cause says:

Absolutely Bin Laden is a CIA asset. He has been on their payroll for years. The Bush Saudi friends are his money handlers and couriers. No doubt about it.

  49. Saner Head says:

Bin Laden and Zawahiri don’t care which political party wins and loses–they’re both the same to them. What they DO want to do is divide us. And it’s easy for them to pick up criticisms from the press and use them. Doesn’t even mean they believe them or not–it doesn’t matter.

The guy who interviewed bin laden and wrote his biography, forgot his name but he hates Bush’s war, said bin laden said he though he could create a civil war in America! The guy said he laughed at him.

Just remember that bin laden doesn’t understand America and doesn’t understand democracy. We fight, we argue, we’re noisy. Doesn’t mean we really hate each other and are going to war with each other!

I don’t consider my recognition of about a zillion amazing coincidences as conspriacy theories.

I am just noting what I see. And what I see is some really well timed terrorist alerts by our government and some really well timed terrorist threats by Al Quaida.

Their coordination has been noteworthy to say the least.

  54. Marie says:

There is an article in the NYT about Cheney’s change of rhetoric; he and the WH are trying “to rebuild eroding support for the war,” with the “domino theory” employed by a Democratic administration four decades ago to help “sell” the Vietnam conflict to the American public.
The ‘domino theory’ was used forty years ago to bolster support for the war.
He raises the prospect that if America fails in Iraq, Saudi Arabia will be the next target and then maybe Pakistan — which, he notes, has a good-sized nuclear arsenal.”
This is in contrast to Cheney’s earlier words of 2002: “In the prelude to the war, he argued that ousting Saddam Hussein would usher in a new era of stability in the Middle East.”
All of us who have compared Viet Nam to this Iraq debacle are being vindicated by the Bush cabal itself.

  55. Trinary Suka says:

So basically they are saying that Al Qaeda is Antiwar?
I mean, if the copy the Antiwar sentiments and phraseology, which I doubt because people called George those names well before the first election..and even many times as a governor of Texas.

So Al Qaeda watched political smear campaigns on TV? =)

  56. G.W.SuperChrist says:

A 2003 article counted at least nine separate cases in which Sen. (The article, from the Los Angeles Times, was unearthed by the Washington, D.C.-based Sunlight Foundation.)
Ben Stevens, president of the Alaska State Senate, recently had his offices raided by the FBI. News out of Alaska indicates the feds are looking for information surrounding a major resource legislation package that benefited at least one of the companies father Ted helped out, VECO Corp.

    Back ON RAIL!!

Osama probably prefers Bush due to his so called ‘decisiveness’, which is another worde here for reactionary, because a reactionary leadership plays right into the hands of the terrorists. The terrorists have no country, no homeland, no uniforms,no jet fighters, no tanks or submarines. When Bush attacks an entire country for the actions of a few he creates more hatred to America, Bush then went on to attack Iraq, again no WMD and no Osama..yet creating much more emnity to wards America and a veritable quagmire. Israel also detroyed alot of infrastructure with their Shock and Awe campaign…again creating war in another country that breeds more emnity towards America because of the close ties between the two.

Once again Bush, thru his reactionary blindness, weakens national security because he is seen as a weak leader by a majority of Americans, A majority that is made up of all political ideologies. The worldwide majority has long seen Bush as weak, visionless and incompetent.

I mean, It is no surprise that Al Qaeda thinks Bush is a liar and incompetent..MOST OF THE WORLD DOES!!

  81. Eargy Earp says:

One thing I never understood about OBL. During the Iran/Contra hearings Oliver North indicated that he needed elabora tesecurity systems to protect his family from OBL.

I have always doubted the “religous” message of OBL and thought that much of his anti-American slant was because although trained by the CIA to lead Mujahedeen to use guerrilla attacks on the Russians, we abandoned the effort.

What has never been explained to me is what Oliver North did personally to piss him off (make himself a target).

Anybody know specifics of what happened?

  82. Eargy Earp says:

Hey, troll! DO YOU KNOW what Ollie North did personally to PO OBL?

I’m just testing to see if you actually know anything at all or just like to call people names.

  83. MARBLEX says:

105 are you and this troll idiot a tag team? Stop responding to it and it will leave and crawl back under its rock.

  84. Eargy Earp says:

OK, I will just talk to the wall for awhile.

Another ponder – What exactly is the definition of Islamofascism?

Is it… a general philosophy to create Islamic dictatorial states that control peoples socioecomomic behavior? They seem to be using democratic models to gain power (i.e. elections in Lebanon, Palestine, Egypt). However, in most cases the terrorists operate outside of state sponsored power, so at best they could be dictator-wanna- be’s

How does this differ from AmeriChristofascism? (a.k.a. Bushism). Well, I would argue that here the fascists are already in power and like Mussolini’s definition, there is a merging of the Government and Corporate state (as well as with religion).

  85. MARBLEX says:

ren if our transient troll was offering “argument” and “debate” I could see your point. But this individual is just here to incite conflict….(s)he isn’t interested in debate or anything else. He is paid to be here to drop GOP talking points and to respond to your every comment with a snarky reply. if that passes as “argument” and “debate” then we should rename this country the United States of Dumbfckistan

  86. Eargy Earp says:

    MARBLEX,

Truly, I don’t care whether the trolls are here or not. They are like seagulls at the beach….just part of the background noise.

However, I really do not know the answer and if anyone knows this information, I would be appreciative.

AGAIN, Does anyone here know what Ollie North did personally to PO OBL? What was he talking about during the Iran-Contra hearings?

  87. Marie says:

    #116 Eargy Earp
Every reference I have seen concerning Ollie North and OBL has claimed that it is akin to an urban legend.
Try a google search of Oliver North and Osama – I think you will find several sites charging that the story is not true.

  90. Eargy Earp says:

OK. I see that I was fooled by post 9-11 propaganda. The the name of the terrorist that North identified was Abu Nidal.

It could be a war, I think, of resources, but the people would be led into that war mostly thru their religion, kinda like today.

I was doing a bit of reading other day and find this same fundamentalist/Zionist Quixotic type religious crusade to recapture Jerusalem in about 900 AD.

These crusades of the messianic zionists, from the Khazar Empire, which seems to have been a very secular society, was possibly the demise of that empire

  100. Go Back To Sleep America says:

So anyway back on topic, yes OBL was a CIA asset – it’s quite easy to research, just look up the history of the mujihadeen. Actually you’ll find quite a few “questionable” groups all around the world are in fact funded and supported by successive US administrations and organisations.

This includes opposition parties and even known terrorist groups, for example, opposition parties to democratically elected Chavez. There is also at least one group which is designated a terrorist group which has support from Bushco for political purposes; I can’t recall the name off the top of my head (try google for it, I’m sure it will come up)

  101. Go Back To Sleep America says:

    And you actually believe that?
    http://www.nhgazette.com/cgi-bin/NHGstore.cgi?user_action=detail&catalogno=NN_Bush_Nazi_2
from The New Hampshire Gazette Vol. 248, No. 3, November 7, 2003

After the seizures in late 1942 of five U.S. enterprises he managed on behalf of Nazi industrialist Fritz Thyssen, Prescott Bush, the grandfather of President George W. Bush, failed to divest himself of more than a dozen “enemy national” relationships that continued until as late as 1951, newly-discovered U.S. government documents reveal.

Furthermore, the records show that Bush and his colleagues routinely attempted to conceal their activities from government investigators.

Bush’s partners in the secret web of Thyssen-controlled ventures included former New York Governor W. Averell Harriman and his younger brother, E. Roland Harriman. Their quarter-century of Nazi financial transactions, from 1924-1951, were conducted by the New York private banking firm, Brown Brothers Harriman.

The White House did not return phone calls seeking comment.

Although the additional seizures under the Trading with the Enemy Act did not take place until after the war, documents from The National Archives and Library of Congress confirm that Bush and his partners continued their Nazi dealings unabated. These activities included a financial relationship with the German city of Hanover and several industrial concerns. They went undetected by investigators until after World War Two.

At the same time Bush and the Harrimans were profiting from their Nazi partnerships, W. Averell Harriman was serving as President Franklin Delano Roosevelt’s personal emissary to the United Kingdom during the toughest years of the war. On October 28, 1942, the same day two key Bush-Harriman-run businesses were being seized by the U.S. government, Harriman was meeting in London with Field Marshall Smuts to discuss the war effort.

    Excellent smack-down!!

  113. Go Back To Sleep America says:

Trinity it isn’t so much a method to foment war, but an obvious attempt to suppress criticism and silence dissent.

The classic analogy would be how Zionists totally abuse the hell out of the word “antisemite”. Say even one thing remotely critical of Israel (JUST FOR EXAMPLE) and that word is inevitably rolled out like some kind of public relations sledgehammer to silence the person making the comment. Even if it has nothing at all to do with Judaism or even Jews, but purely criticism of political policy.

The analogy is the same here – the intention is blatantly to associate dissent and criticism with “being a terrorist sympathiser”. The idea being to use it as a public relations sledgehammer to qwell any disagreement, dissent or criticism. The neocons must really envy the Zionists, because they at least have a well abused word they can hurl around. The neocons have no such word so this is their attempt instead.

  114. Go Back To Sleep America says:

Addendum, hence even more suspicious the timing of this video. It just happens to be there right on cue to back up this new attack method the neocons are using to suppress american free thought. Don’t you find that just the slightest bit convenient for them?

  115. Trinary Suka says:

  116. Go Back To Sleep America says:

Here’s a well known quote from Hermann Goering which I’ve posted before, it illustrates perfectly the propoganda technique being employed.

“Oh, that is all well and good, but, voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same way in any country.” – Hermann Goering.

Notice how remarkably similar current tactics are from the neocons? “You are not being patriotic. You are exposing the country to danger. You are feeding the terrorists. You are under attack. You are in a war. You are giving the terrorists fuel to use against us”

Very, very similar. And good old “former” CIA assets right there on time to help back it up.

And obviously if the terrorists say that Bush is a failure, then that proves that it can’t be true! What kind of ludicrous logic is this? I despise those who use violence, such as terrorists and war mongers, but in spite of this and even though I may disagree with much of what either group says, I am not stupid enough to believe that everything that terrorists and war mongers say will be false. If nothing else purely by chance, they may occasionally be right. Rightwing logic is for morons and propagandists.

Only if you have a static [broadband connection] will you see the same IP number.

Alot of people operate, such as AOL, thru proxy servers, a dial up account will always get a different IP number [dynamic IP] and even then there may be a thousand computers sharing the same IP number,. The proxy server [such as AOL] uses the Same IP number for many computers, and it is the MAC address that differentiates one computer from another.

If you have a broadband connection and hash out your own IP addresses thru a router [DHCP on] then each computer on that internal network is seen as the same IP number if viewed from [pinged] the internet side. On the office side, or LAN, each computer in the office is assigned a black hole number such as 10.0.1.1 the next computer that comes online is assigned 10.0.1.2 etc. There is no real way to ban anybody if they dont want to be banned. MSN was really good at it and still couldn’t ban people because we knew of all the registry entries, files etc..that had to be removed or altered =)

Maybe everyone is calling him incompetent and a failure as a leader because he is. Maybe if you’re the only people in the room backing the bobtail nag, maybe it is the bobtail nag, and everyone else has the bay. This videotape only leads me to believe even more that Al Qaeda is a creation of this administration and the Zionists in Israel and the US DOD civilian leadership(Zionists: Feith, Perle, and Wolfowitz). Mossad and the US government collaborated to bring those towers down. Israel is no innocent. Seek 9-11 truth. Dont fall into the traps of blind loyalism, be a patriot.

  132. Cyra Brown says:

First- Scarface = Jamal. Note the departure of one, and the arrival of the other, and then there is that smell…
OT- I, too question the ‘timely’ arrival of this video. It’s one of their ’signature’ moves. Leaving that aside for the moment, Why do the Righties just accept at face value what is being said? Didn’t they tell us that they have been ‘trained to lie’? Isn’t their goal to destroy America? They can see what a stellar job BushCo is doing in that respect, so would’t they want to keep it going. And the rhetoric being used here is the same rhetoric being used by the Righties, to slander the Democrats. They are always telling us what we are doing and saying, and why. When we refute them, we are called liars, at best. There have been quite a few events lately, that have garnered world wide attention. Some have been ‘terror-related’, and all of them were interrupted, just in the nick of time. The others are pure distractions. All of these events happened within days of anything that would damage BushCo, and further threaten their tenuous control of the Government, and the MSM is right behind them, pom-poms in hand. But in every instance, within days, each story was shown to be much ado about nothing. Therefore, it is entirely reasonable to assume this video to be another BushCo production. They have done more for less before.

  138. unbelievable says:

But isn’t that way of thinking the best asset those consipiring could have?

I don’t think so. I think that it’s following the trail of facts with logical deduction that proves cases or points. And it just doesn’t add up yet that it’s as extreme as them conspiring… It’s like I said in my subsequent post – they thrive off one another in a very sociopath symbiotic relationship. That’s what the timing suggests.

I don’t consider my recognition of about a zillion amazing coincidences as conspriacy theories.

I just think there’s a bit too much speculation in some of the theories for them to be realistic.

I realize there’s a lot more than we know – but I don’t think it’s some good vs. evil kind of plot. I just think it’s what the Osama experts have been saying – that Osama ‘profits’ more in terms of his agendas when neocons rule the roost.

I am just noting what I see. And what I see is some really well timed terrorist alerts by our government and some really well timed terrorist threats by Al Quaida.

But I think it suggests that Osama likes what the neocons are doing to further his cause. It doesn’t mean they are in cahoots together.

Osma’s goal is not the same as Bush’s. Their religious ideologies are incompatable. Each wants to convert the other’s people to his respective religion. There is no consensus.

However, there is a mutual boogeyman effect each gets from the other being in power. Not the same as them conspiring.

Their coordination has been noteworthy to say the least.
    Comment by WORFEUS — September 2, 2006 @ 6:15 pm

Sorry, but I just don’t see conspiring in it. I see two men who like to use one another to get what they want – a theorcratic frenzy of those willing to die for his god’s will. I just don’t see anything more than that.

But, like I’ve said, if anyone wants to back it up with hard facts and valid proof, I’m the first on board. I think teh Bush Regime is corrupt and dangerous and needs to be ejected if not far worse (jail). I’d love to have a smoking gun. I just don’t think this is it. I think it’s the lies to go to war, the illegal wiretapping and the host of other violations that are provable.

Though you know I love ya. You’re still one of my favorite posters after nearly a year at TP and I’m glad you’re back.

Nice try Santo, but I’m waiting for reality-based proof.

  141. unbelievable says:

If you call a college education and enough practical experience to be considered an expert lies, then you are NOT living in reality Santo.

But you are just a ghost, aren’t you? And soon you’ll be disappearing yet again…

  142. bones says:

My understanding and what pieces I’ve heard, there are no threats on this video. So what’s the ALERT! Right wing pundits actually said Azzam the American should be prosecuted under the Patriot Act for taking part in the video (remember no threats in the video) because expressing his opinion on the video offers “material aid and comfort” to the enemy.

Oh dear, Santo is here. Sigh…

I think that it’s following the trail of facts with logical deduction that proves cases or points.

    Comment by unbelievable — September 3, 2006 @ 10:43 am

Really? Thats the “only” method of deduction?

I take it you don’t teach science. Because science does not rely soley on facts for proving a theory. Science relies often on “evidence”, not facts, in order to conclude the validity of a given theory.

A good example of this is the finding of planets by astronomers. Planet hunting has been going on for some time. And astronomers have documented dozens of new planets over the last decade.

Yet they don’t have one “fact” to prove ANY of these planets even exist.

In fact, they’ve NEVER EVEN SEEN ONE!!!

But they know they’re there. How? Simple. By using a method of detection known as Doppler Shift \Stellar Wobble, scientists are able to detect variances in speed by measuring shifts in light caused by velocity as the star wobbles on its axis, caused by the velocity of the turning around the center of its own mass, and the gravitational “tug” of the planet.

    They don’t see the planet.

The don’t have any rocks or soil samples from the planet.

No probes or surveys have photographed the planet.

In fact, they have no physical evidence or “facts” to produce to show the planet exists other than “circumstancial evidence” to prove its there.

    But they know it is.

And in a similar light, I am able to detect the obvious of bullshit from the administration and their department of homeland security, when they release video tape from Al Quaida and tell me to be afraid.

I don’t see them directly editing the tapes, or calling up Bin Laden and asking him to put one out. I don’t see the vault where many of them may be stored waiting for future release.

But by the looking at voluminous circumstantial evidence I am able to locate the precense of bullshit, by observing the “TIMING” of the terrorist threats, homeland security alerts and releasing of video tapes, in conjunction to the timing of obvious problems and issues for the President and his administration.

I call it bullshit detecting, an art that has served me well throughout my years on the planet.

Keith Olberman did a segment twice now on the timing of the release of terrorist alerts (ALL WHICH TURNED OUT TO BE BOGUS) and problems for the President throughout the last 3 years. It was ASTOUNDING, and only the most “trusting of souls” could walk away without at least a healthy portion of suspicion with regards to the nature of these alerts and the reason for their release.

We agree on most things Unb, but not on this. I don’t need a smoking gun to put ever puzzle together. I am perfectly capable of using the brains God gave me to assemble the obvious evidence, timing and motivation, couple this with the character as displayed be these men, and the results of their so called “terror alerts” to determine that there is some sort of skullduggery going on here that can’t quite see, but whose signs are everywhere if I just look.

  145. unbelievable says:

    Worfeus,

How you took what I said and spun it into that condescending post is beyond me… I expect more from you. Whatever.

  146. WORFEUS says:

What is condescending about it? I wasn’t trying to be. I am just pointing out that clearly I disagree with you. I agree with you on most things so why take this so poorly? I am not criticizing you I am just pointing out that I don’t need physical proof or facts to determine everything to me.

And I think you’re wrong about the source and purposes of these video tapes. My words not gospel. Maybe I’m wrong. But I can only tell you what I think. And I think that there is no way these videos and the terror alerts are anything but subterfuge and diversions from problems for the President. And besides, I asked my magic 8 Ball and it said all signs point to yes.

  147. cmw says:

Al Qaeda is CIA, don’t ya get it

  148. WORFEUS says:

But your idea that maybe they are sympathetic to the President because he does stupid things that help their recruiting efforts is a good one, and may hold water. I don’t think its the correct one, but it might be. Its certainly one I’ve considered, and am holding onto as a possible explanation.

Don’t be so sensitive UnB. Geesh you know I never make a weak argument.

  149. WORFEUS says:

    Good news from Afghanistan

    NATO: 200 Taliban Killed
By NOOR KHAN, Associated Press Writer

PASHMUL, Afghanistan – Warplanes and artillery pounded Taliban fighters hiding in orchards Sunday during a big Afghan- NATO offensive that the alliance said killed more than 200 militants in its first two days.

If the estimate is confirmed, the battle would be one of the deadliest since U.S.-led forces ousted the Taliban regime five years ago. An Associated Press reporter who traveled to Pashmul saw warplanes drop five bombs within about 20 minutes on orchards where militants were believed hiding. The reporter was about 300 yards away.

  151. bones says:

And in this pre-midterm election “NO ONE” would lie about killing millions of Taliban , Al Queda, Islamofascists – even though they’ve DONE NOTHING for the last 2 years – just to give US voters the “impression” they were actually doing something to win votes. Liars.

  152. bones says:

Hey , heres another arguement to leave Iraq that “Al Queda” sympathizers might make:

U.S. deaths in Iraq, war on terror surpass 9/11 toll

As the fifth anniversary of the September 11, 2001, attack on the United States approaches, another somber benchmark has just been passed.

The announcement Sunday of four more U.S. military deaths in Iraq raises the death toll to 2,974 for U.S. military service members in Iraq and in what the Bush administration calls the war on terror.

  153. what now toons says:

Now while the tension is high, like a goddamm piano wire, the fear factor comes in, liquid bombs, terror notes, pen guns like James Bond, terror every other word you hear, know thy enemy programs, and, let us not forget, let me repeat, let us not forget that back in 2004, there were terror alerts every time Kerry showed a lead in the polls, then months after the presidential election was over we had Thom Ridge saying he was told to do the terror alerts by the White House, even though he disagreed with them. A fact he shared with us as he was leaving his post as head of Homeland security, safely after the election was over.
Now we see the same pattern repeating itself as we approach the November elections. The question is will the American people fall for the same tactic, and yes I call it a tactic, and I do so because Tom Ridge had the balls to say the terror alerts of 2004 were not from him, but the White House. And boy, did they disappear after the election a fact we all have lived with.
It’s in this sprit I present my latest cartoon, “homeland Fear Factor”

I believe he has been dead for awhile also. It would do us only harm to release that he is dead. And it would take power away from the chickenhawks.

It’s so sad to see so called anti Bush/anti war liberals believe in the official 9/11 “incompetence”/Osama fairy tales. Why dont the liberals support the war on terror if they think 9/11 was merely Osama and 19 arab fanatics?

The neocons need Osama bin Goldstein to scare the public, and keep the liberals thinking 9/11 was just “incompetence”…one big whoopsy.
