Oh my god, either their blog registration is out of order, or they don’t REALLY want us saying what we think on THEIR blog. I think a little of both.
I think this is a case where the dedicated just start calling the ABC heads & let them know what we think….about 1000 times a day. ALSO, write you local & national papers and say what a hoax and pack of lies this is.
When is it going to dawn on the American People that almost any U.S. media operation bigger than Air America is a conservative-controlled propaganda entity? Okay, and some people say even Air America is a conservative-controlled propaganda entity…
The Wingnuts like to tell me that since my speech is not being actively suppressed by, well, by THEM in the fancy boots handed out at the latest rally, that America is free and there is no fascist dictatorship.
But when go to the trouble of suppressing dissent when you can simply ignore it or shout over it?
Maybe we could ask ABC if they would, for the sake of pure bipartisanship, run Farenheit 911 right after the second installment of this new “fictional” film. In fact maybe they could run Moore’s film commercial free since the corporate sponsors of their effort will be more than happy to fork over millions in cash to spread the inherent conservative message.
Well said. If ABC were to actually broadcast Fahrenheit 9/11, it would make it possible for conservatives to see the documentary which they have been so fond of criticizing, though almost none of them had actually the time to see the film which they had so enthusiastically bashed.
“Comments are moderated, and will not appear on this weblog until the author has approved them.”
The most recent comment is from September 2. I’ll be checking in every so often to see if mine gets posted. I wonder what the Las Vegas odds would be on that?
How many more have noticed the blantant in your face ABC Christian, right wing pushing programming they’ve been doing just about every week now. Many of the programs have been hosted by that Nixon loving toadie, Diane Sawyer.
Since ABC and it’s conservative allies have decided to play hardball by not allowing advertisers to be put at risk of boycott by sponsoring this program. The only solution is to bat that hardball back to ABC and its conservative allies by boycotting ALL of ABC’s advertisers that advertise on September 10 and 11. A boycott of 12 months should send the right message.
9/11 was a midEast “terrorist†retaliation in response
to Dick Cheney’s 1990-91 treacherous, no honor, FASLE
LIBERATION of Kuwait as sure as Oklahoma City was a
domestic “terrorist†retaliation for treacherous US
Federal Crimes at Waco Texas.
Waco was planed under the Cheney Bush41
administration… and handed to Clinton as an
inauguration present.
Why was Cheney’s, 1990-91 Desert Shield, Desert Storm, Highway of Death, Gulf War, a false liberation of Kuwait?
Because it was not the first time Saddam had moved his troops to the Kuwaiti border, in all previous manuevers the US administration had issued clear warnings not to invade Kuwait or else… Sadam always was deterred and backed down…. this time, Cheney was admonished by Colin Powel, Paul Wolfowitz, and the Rand Corporation military Think tank to warn Saddam of Cheney’s plans…. Cheney refused to deter Saddam as had previous US administrations…. Saddam took that, and had good reasons to take as an okay, especially in light of Galespie’s representations and Bakers representationsas a go ahead to anex Kuwait…
Cheny failed in his duty to the human race to deter, at least try to deter saddam… so Cheney can “liberate†Kuwait….
after Saddam crossed into Kuwait Cheny flew to Saudi Arabia to scare the King into accepting Cheney’s protection plan, it was based on satelite images represented to be Iraqi troops on the Saudi border… the picture were of the Kuwati border…
This information was published worlwide in late 1991…. it did not take long for the MidEast militents to decide on a “terrorist†retaliation against the US, it took many trys and ten years later they succeeded on 9/11 making Cheney’s False Liberation of Kuwait fiasco a complete failure for the US…
In Short Dick Cheney’s 1990-91 MidEast Treachery caused the 9/11 “Terrorist†Retaliation
As sure as Waco caused the Oklahoma City bombing.
Waco was planned under the Cheney Bush41 administration and handed to Clinton as a Inauguration present.
Cheney is a war Criminal and should be prosecuted…
Truth Justice and Capital Punishment is our American Way.
I used to be against capital punishment until this administration.
The US needs a National Public Hanging Monument in Washington DC with a perpetual swinging noose for all elected and appointed government adminisTraitors.
Those having trouble finding the link, click on the words “Drop by” in the text above. Yeah, I always miss those sneaky links myself. Remember to be polite. A certain quote comes to mind (though I don’t know why), “Forgive them, Lord, they know not what they do.”
Is he resigning? Or is his term of office up then? Inquiring minds want to know. I’m glad you’re here, Tobey, or else I might not ever learn much of what goes on outside our borders. I have the feeling that if Rumsfeld were fired or resigned, you would know about it before we would.
Thanks, Tobey. I thought I had heard that he had already lined up his stint at the Carlyle Group for when he eventually left office. They owe it to him. Without his support, I doubt Bush would have invaded Iraq alone (I don’t really count the other members of the ‘Coalition of the Willing’ as real participants.)
i will certainly not buy the products advertized on your channel, knowing that this is a commercial free program. I will let those advertisers know my decision and influence my family and friends to do the same.
You are telling out and out lies in a disservice to this country. You are sell outs to the right loonies and Disney will also suffer the consequences of broadcasting lies. I will boycott them too and influence my family and friends to do the same. We will not forget. The times are too important.
Well I left a comment but I shall be surprised to see those jumped up monkeys post it. Posting opposing opinions suggests courage. Hijacking the airwaves in an attempt to dress lies up as truth and thrust it on the public just prior to an election, does not. They are cowards and liars and should be forced to listen to Paris Hilton’s album on loop for all eternity. Which is a Hell of a long time. About as long as Anne Coulter’s face.
They will only use the comments against the LW blogsphere to change the topic from the potentially FALLICIOUS retelling of the 9/11 saga….to how angry, unpatriotic, and unhinged the LW “nutroots” is…
this movie is identical in function and timing to the “swift boat†attack on sen kerry in 2004.
there is nothing more that needs be said about it other than that it is another karl rove’s third-party pre-election stunts to draw attention away from the bush administration’s domestic and foreign policy failures
but
as long as people fight about the content of the film or its fairness,
then
they will not be spending time talking about george bush’s six years of presidential misjudgments and misrepresentations.
or about
the failure of two republican congresses to engage in oversight of the president’s numerous and serious mistakes and misrepresentations.
the proper line of criticism on this film should not be its content but it’s deployment in september as a political tactic in an election year -
as yet another political lie designed by rove to allow bush and the republican party to avoid scrutiny and criticism.
There is no such thing as “rewriting history” unless you call it pure historical fiction which is precisely what this is. If it walks like a duck, talks like a duck….but don’t insult the american people’s intelligence by calling it Truth when you have contradictions to it already from people who were there….see Condi’s statements regarding what they knew about Bin Laden and the potential for an attach on the US and when….see Richard Clark’s rebuttal of the events as he witnessed them….
I can’t comprehend why ABC and Disney would allow their reputations to be tarnished by putting lies instead of truth out there to the public. It’s like they’re asking to be boycotted by the american people.
They’re asking for it and the american people will deliver. ABC - who???
Disney - who’s that???
on C & L you can also find a list of the show’s sponsors. The public is outraged and the sponsors are being pressured by people’s quest for Truth - not fiction! Plenty of movie channels to watch if we want fiction!
Tobey -
I heard there would be a no confidence vote (or something like that in Parliament) but is it a fact that he will step down? Initially I heard that he might be forced to leave at the year’s end - but 3/31/07 will have to do.
I liked him at one time — I just lost all respect for him (along with so many others) when his brown nose became obvious. He is indeed Bush’s poodle.
He can speak well extemporaneously, but when what he says is aligned with Bush, his speaking talent is totally irrelevant.
Moderated comments indeed! Fantastic work in your coverage of this. For people who wish to write or phone into ABC to protest this ‘docudrama’ is there special contact information specifically dealing with this program?
Disney is a part of this??? jeebus, how much more are we to take?
911 was an inside job…the “new pearl harbor” as described in PNAC, which was signed by Cheney Wolfowitz and Rumsfeld. According to most opinion, polls, the majority now realize this. Watch “loose change” and “everybody’s gotta learn sometime” at google video. Educate yourself and join the democracy.
It’s bad news for the government and for the government shills like the corporate media.
When I have to watch a US two star general claiming that the government version of 911 is a lie on youtube, then I realize I am not living in a democracy, because if I was this would be front page news on every newspaper and TV channel in America.
The 911 truth movement has something great on it’s side…..the truth.
I agree with the post above that the corporate media has completely failed the american public. As far as I’m concerned, they are complicit in the cover up and this trash coming out is just more of the same.

Since they no longer allow posting at the “Path to 9/11″ site:
“Watch the movie! Then let’s talk. If you haven’t seen the movie with your very own eyes - don’t castigate the movie out of ignorance.” So, you say trust us.
“Wanted dead or alive”
“just not that interested in him anymore”
“Slam Dunk”
“Mushroom clouds”
“greeted as liberators”
“freedom is complicated”
“a few dead enders”
“bring it on”
“last throes, if you will”
“I’m the decider”
Well ABC it seems that enablers, like your corporation, have an agenda of promoting lies. So please don’t ask for even a “little bitty more” of our trust. Just admit what your motives are; propping up the GOP for the November election.
How about trusting your viewers by giving free air time to “Fahrenheit 9/11†back to back right before each “Path to 9/11
It seems that people keep referring to this movie as a “documentary”. A documentary is a journalistic format that gives facts and information through interviews and news footage. This is a movie or more specifically a docudrama.
Apparently this David Cunningham guy isn’t smart enough to realize that the “docu” in docudrama is the shortened version of documentary.
Funny how my comment disappeared after I posted my opinion including my boycot of ABC. As always, I did not threaten, swear or acknowledge the right wing postings. I just put down my opinion that it was a propaganda movie and it was no use in denying this.
Oh wow. Keith just did another special commentary to Bush! He addressed Bush and ended with asking “Have you no sense of Shame, Sir?”
Go Keith. Kick it!
Yes, I saw the show. It’s worth staying up late for the replay, folks.
So much is delivered in the first half of the show - I may watch it again.
It is so rare to see a TV anchor tell the truth - why does MSNBC allow it? Because the public is crying for balance and Olbermann delivers, his ratings are soaring.
I posted a diary with a poll on DailyKos. It ran for about an hour. Of the 36 respondants who said they submitted comments to the ABC Path to 911 blog and waited at least half an hour for processing, only one respondant said his/her comment was published.
The blog is a dark hole. They are not publishing what we are sending.
It is obvious that this is another attempt by the Right to change history to their liking. Who does that sound like? Not the democracy that many of us fought for, but a terrified and crazed minority that wants to stay in power. Their hatred of virtually everything that is really American is truly remarkable. I for one will no longer watch ABC programming if they go through with this abomination.
ABC’s up-coming story attempting to gull listeners into believing that the murderous events of 9/11 can be attributed to the Clinton Administration, instead of to the Bush Cabal, will be heard with the contempt it deserves by those of us who already know (by simply good sense) of the strong connection between the ABC network and the
forces of conservative and neocon opinion. The corporate owners of ABC should blush at the twist they have given their responsibilies as members of a constitutionally supported Free Press. To continue to abuse the legally established freedom of the press will eventually lead
to the loss of the press’s freedom. Indeed, the abuse of journalism’s responsibility to objectivity in reporting has already brought the
greater part of daily readers and listeners to the news to something
new in my now-long lifetime (I am an 82-year-old newspaper
reader) — to an instinctive regarding of news published in ordinary American daily newspapers as not to be trusted. Many younger readers would be astonished to hear me say that was not always the case. (Signed) John C. Fowler - Retired Episcopal priest - Nazareth, PA
i recently asked my 83yr old mother, after hearing the news report about the supreme court’s ruling against whistle blowers, “mom, did you ever think you would see the day america turned to tyranny?”… she angrily answered, “no. … how much longer with this guy?”
my dad passed away in june ‘01… as staunch a republican as i know he was, i can’t believe he would approve of the state of the country that he served and fought for in the pacific theater…
i wonder if this country will ever recover…
i cry for my kids’ future…
it is good to hear from people of your generation and experience…
please continue to inform and educate us!
thank you!
Tomorrow we will be treated to “Swift Boater†part two.
It will be the all too familiar and flaccid excuse of; “we stopped allowing posts due to the nasty vitriolic nature of the vast majority.â€
Of course the MS-enablers-M will dutifully report this terrible “blog” behavior and allow a twenty second news promo. Sound familiar folks? Buehler?, Buehler?
.
I just posted the following on ABC website for this piece of agitprop:
“I quess if only Clinton had invaded a country that had nothing to do with Bin-Laden and taken more vacations. The author of this intentionally misleading collection of right-wing urban legends has his target audience figured out, to quote S. Cobert “the problem is that the facts have a anti-Bush bias”. Heck of a job Nowrastehie.”
It seems ABC has become a part of that, “Vast Right Wing Conspiracy” by promoting misinformation, inuendo and out right lies in the form of the DocuDrama The Path to 9/11 to be aired September 11, 2006. Airing it as fact does a disservice to all Americans. In fact, airing it at all before a major off year national election is out right pandering to the ideologues of the far right. This only demonstrates the degree of contol over the media exercised by Disney and other corporations bent on denying our Civil Rights and destroying our Democracy for monetary gain and greed. For my part I find such blantent disregard for the truth as shameful if not down right tresonable.
ABC took a little break, so they could solicit the advice of the rightwing blogs, on how best to control the content of their ‘blog’. Then they returned. But instead of allowing anyone at all to post their comments, positive or negative, they are using a stranglehold to create the impression that there is no controversy regarding this piece of propoganda subsidized by the Disney Corporation. ABC should have their broadcast license revoked immediately. By choosing to ‘catapult the propoganda’ for BushCo, they have surrendered their ‘free ride’ on the PUBLIC airways. They want access? After the legality of their actions has been decided, they can work something out with the Cable and Satellite service providers, and pay for it.
This is more Republican propaganda. This fictionalizes history. If the Reagan movie was not allowed to be shown, this program should not be shown either.
How can abc show this on fifth anniversry of 9/11 and face the families of all that died that day. A fairy Tale about all this tradgedy is unthinkable. As far as putting this in schools i hope anyone who does gets sued to the highest degree for showing lies as history. Totally amazing i will never watch abc again and will find other places besides Disney to entertain my grandchildren
I’m removing ABC from my favorites list on both my computer and television. Thank God for parental locks cause I can block it for all the family. They won’t show Saving Private Ryan but will show this garbage lies about Clinton and 9/11………..it’s crap……….bye bye abc!!!
[…] Help the truth by signing our ABC petition to stop their biased 9/11 broadcast! ABC’s “Path to 9/11″ Blog has returned, two days after it was taken down without explanation. Feel free to drop by and make your voice heard…but be polite. […]
Anyone who posts at the ABC 9-11 “docudrama” blog better not post stupid crazy shit like “9-11 was an insdie job” done by Bush, the Saudis, the Zionists, or whatever. I can just see the right-wing hacks at ABC selectively allowing only the most retarded criticisms of their “docudrama” going through.
I don’t understand why HuffPost and Daily Kos are putting this on the proverbial “back burner”, just check those sites. They should be coordinating efforts with Think Progress to motivate and activate readers! I’m in shock! How come Berger isn’t being more vocal? How about Ben-Veniste? How about Bubba? WE CAN NOT LET THIS AIR!
Does anyone have contact info for Joel Stein at CQ, the ONLY non-blog media to report on this? It seems he needs to be made aware of the Scholastic connection.
The blog does not seem to be taking any more comments. I sent in a comment last night and it is still not there. My comment was along the lines of: please don’t air something that is politically driven to mislead the public. I cannot believe that those few comments are the only ones that have been sent.
Great. First Rumsfeld goes off on the “lessons of history” and gets pilloried in the press as well he should. He doesn’t seem to remember shaking hands with Saddam back in the early 80’s when Iraq really had wmd and used them on the Iranians as well as the Kurds. The US sat by and basically looked the other way while this was going on. Who was the President then? If ABC really wanted to make a political statement they should have made a documentary and gone back to the days of the Shah. The mess we are in now is not something that came about by a series of black and white moments. It is nuanced and complex and that is something these people don’t understand, in spite of reading “three Shakespeares.”
By the way, the comments are moderated. Nobody can post unless they’re conservative on their blog. After it came back on, you’ll notice that nearly all of hte comments after september 2nd view the movie in a positive light, or attack liberals. Before then, it’s all criticism.
That tells me they’re afraid of criticism, even when it’s constructive. Cognratulations ABC, and welcome to my (growing) channel lock list.
Can’t wait for the big event. Of course, I’ll be watching Koppel on Discovery, but, nonetheless…
While you’re at it, ABC, why don’t you produce a series of “docu-dramas” wherein the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor is blamed on a hormonal Shirley Temple, the Vietnam War is traced to MLK, and WWI erupts after Prince Ferdinand dies, not by assassination, but, from over-constrictive leiderhausen woven by the European forebearers of Martha Stewart. For crying out loud.
You know…forgive me, but some folks may not like this…I don’t have a problem placing blame where blame lies. What Clinton deserves blame for–and there are some things–he should be blamed for. What Bush, Bush Sr., Reagan, or any other President deserves blame for they, too, should be blamed for. There is plenty to go around–besides what Bush has done (of which there is PLENTY). I think we need to get over this Left Wing/Right Wing thing, and just be honest on all sides. Shows that only show one side should NOT be aired.
Reportedly, the PT9-11 ‘docudrama’ downplays the open-season ‘kill order’ that Clinton directed against OBL, and it falsely portrays the Clinton team as botching a killing of OBL at point blank range. Why? Well, PT9-11 asserts that Clinton was distracted by a sex scandal.
Folks, the above Clinton misfires never actually happened — and the 9/11 report specifically said that Clinton was undistracted by the GOP’s ‘Presidential Pervert Detection Project’ of 1998 [my term not theirs]. That ’scandal’ seriously backfired on the GOP, with huge disapproval ratings and a rare midterm loss of five House seats for the GOP members who fueled it.
And now we get this ‘Clinton-was-distracted-by-scandal’ perspective rehashed by a producer who we read has sent advance film copies -but only to right-wing reviewers? How clumsy of him that this is now common knowledge!
Unfortunately for some the controversy around this film is highlighting a repeat of the greatest fumbles of the right-wing playbook.
I’m quite amazed at the posts here. The declaration is that this show is propoganda and has packs of lies, but I keep looking where the falsehoods are from the comments in this post.
If you see it, and find out that it has errors, or is misleading, then say that. People did that in Farenheit 911.
Just wanted a sanity check. Is the show really misleading, or is it that you guys just don’t agree with it?
What an amazing feeding frenzy of hate and bile. Why do so many of the ‘true believers’ fear that the American public will get a chance to so this movie and decide for themselves?
Yesterday I left a comment on the latest post to ABC’s Path to 9/11 blog. They have not seen fit to allow it to post. In fact, no comments have been allowed through since 9/2/06.
What is the far left afraid of. They really do not expect the rest of us to believe that 911 was because Bush took over. Let us look at the 90’s two embassies bombed and a destroyer attacked. And no real response from those in charge. It is the little guy picking on the Big one that does not want to fight. Eventually the little guy will go too far then there is hell to pay.
911 as entertainment. If you are taking literary license with the facts , as you disclaimer says, then what’s the point. Rather than portray the events inaccurately or with a slant and claim it is a docu-drama, which suggests it is a documentary, why not just produce a documentary based on fact. It would take one night instead of two and you could probably sell commercial airtime. I suspect the reason there are no commercials is that no advertisers want to be associated with this production. It is unconcionable to air something that distorts the truth about 911. I say you should do what CBS did about the Reagan story and ditch the effort.
It is just a movie.. isn’t that what everyone was saying with the M Moore movie which was really crap too.
No one tells the full truth on anything anymore … you have to hunt it down for yourself. No one is beyond making mistakes. The problems is with those who hide their mistakes and point the finger at others… trying to fix the ones made in the past.
The Leftist nutjobs are pissed because a bit of truth is being brought to the forefront to show that the enemy is not George Bush…it is the U.S. Liberal Obstructionistis. Sit back, listen to the Prez’s “pregame” speeches, watch Bush’s approval ratings soar, and kiss November GOODBYE! Adios Speaker Peloser!
I called ABC today (212 456-7777) to register my concerns about the lies in THE PATH TO 9/11. I was directed to a recorded message telling me how to schedule a luncheon at a Disney venue with my favorite Disney character.
I feel sick to my stomach when I think about the brutal facts of 9/11, and all of the unanswered questions that this culture will ignore in the name of entertainment.
Is it true that Scholastic Books is collaborating with Disney to propagate lies? Don’t our kids
need to know how to think critically and get at the truth, if we want a real democracy?
How can we export democracy when politics and citizenship in this country are so degraded in the name of “infotainment?”
First, shut up until you see the movie… you are judging something before you even see it! Wait, if a Republican did that he/she would have every Democrat wanting their head on a platter… but you can do it and it is okay?!? Also, if this movie is the “right-wing Farenheit 9-11″ then why are you complaining? The left-wing already has their movie, let the right-wing have theirs. What, you can dish out the heat but you can’t take it?
Also, ABC is a company in AMERICA and they have every right to air it! If you don’t like a company having the right to air their political views then there are communist countries that will be happy to deny you and everyone you are exposed to the freedom of political choices.
Trash? Well, there’s more than enough of that everywhere you look nowadays! I feel I should have the right to watch what I want to in my own living room! Sound familiar?
This docudrama has not even aired and the Democratic party is going ballistic! Where was all this concern for facts and truth when they embraced Michael Moore as the poster boy for the Democratic Party. His Farenheit 911 was the biggest pack of lies to hit the screens, but they made him a star. I’m sure Bill ” I didn’t inhale & I didn’t have sex with that woman” Clinton and Sandy” How did those 40 documents get in my pants” Berger always tell the truth!
So Democrats only condone lies when it is to their advantage! What a bunch of Hypocrites!!!
Let the series air and then commission Michael Moore to rewrite the docudrama the way they remember the facts. Problem solved.
Clinton did not have to take vacations, he just went into the oval office and had an affair while he was dealing with the supposecd business of government. If he was not having an affair he was fondling an waman that had lost her husband then but it out that she was carzy. Another thing that he did not have to take vacations, he would show up lake to work all the time.
If I had and affair on my job, IU would be fired. If fonfled someone on my job I would be fired
I want tell you something the mis east have always looked on us as satan’s because we are not muslims. Iraq is next to Afghnastan and it nade since to seal it off also since the UN was about to drop the sanctions on Iraq. Asama may not have like Saddam but he may have to decided to orchestarate his overthrown why do you think that offered to send in his militia to Kuwait before we were asked to interevene during the Gulf War. Did not have anything to do with Iraq in your dreams.
He would have never been in Afghanstan if Clinton had took him out in Sudan.
Another thing Congress gave Clinton the go ahead to take out Saddam in 1996, but he did not do. He could have done like he did in Bosnia but he chose not to get rid of Saddam.
The WTC was hit by tow power planes that was like two bombs at the top of the structures which exploded these strucutes and they crumbled from the top down. It seemed the mighty explosions weakened these buidings which allowed gravity to take over and down they tumbled.
Asaba Bin Laden was quite taken with what happened he did not think that it would do that well, but when you hit as high as those panes did and the tall tructures to mantain any structure it is always smaller at the top which would make it weaker and allow the damage to be more pronounced so I do not think it would take a rocket scienctist to figure out how they fell.
Those buldings did not fall from the bottom up. They fell from the top down. There was not a demolition but sucude bombers.
IT is amusing how you baby killing homo lovers want everything about that adulterous Clinton censored. You talk about the right-wing media! what a fallacy. The media is far more left and I cannot believe they would even consider editting or ommitting anything to keep from making the Clinton administration look bad. I guess it is okay to print National security measures being taken but don’t say anything bad about that sleaze Clinton. I hope a landing gear falls through your roof and lands on some of your heads. IDIOTS
Hello my delusional Republican friends! What we have in this film is more media-spun BS about our national security and presidential accountability. They should show it on Fox News. I can’t wait to see the movie ABC makes about the lead up to the Iraq war. You know the great warrior ,Bush, telling us about wmd, mushroom clouds, links between Saddam and 9-11, yellow cake from Niger, fight them over there…blah blah blah…No matter how you cut it fellas your boy is going down as the worst President this country has ever seen.
Most Important- call or email everyone who advertises on ABC and tell them you will never buy their products if this airs!! The reason- It is propaganda being passed off as truth. It is dangerous to the future of our country and if it doesn’t stop now - will it ever? I turned on ABC this morning and saw an ad for Luke Oil. I will contact them and so should everyone else. This should not air in any form- especially close to 9/11.
Why is it that those that scream frredom of speech are so upset about a movie they have not seen. Did the scream when it was proved that 60 min ran a piece that was false did they scream when they took apart all the 911 conspiracy stories such as wtc 7 collapsing because of some explosion when all the while it was built on stilts and when the twin towers collapsed it came down with it NO they only scream when their side is faced with some mud on their face. How about we watch the movie then discuss it instead of all the idle threats like calling a Russian owned oil company Luk OIL like they will care if you buy their gas.
All these comments about ABC and Busch Adminstration is democracy people. Only in America can you slam the President of the United States, the posters on this page need to remember that! I don’t know how much of the mini-series is fact, but people are totally naive if they believe that the Clinton Administration was not also to blame for 9-11
ahhhh, love this blogging thing! amazing how someone with the name “portia”, should conjure up visions of beauty ,finese, and intelligence and a name such as “douggie”, might remind us of a dog or a three year old with very little brain power! but alas, not here, because portia reminds us of why we need not fear our republican(missing a few gene) counterparts, and douggie reminds us if brain power is the criteria, we win back the house this november!!!
Keep calling ABC (212 456-7777) to protest the lies. Personally I wouldn’t have watched it anyway. Flight 93, WTC and now Pathway to 911. It’s all wrong. At least with Flight 93 and WTC the movie, it’s clearly a drama designed to titillate those morbid souls who find enjoyment in the death and destruction of human life. To present a documentary of lies is propaganda. The simple fact that FOX and Rush think it’s fair movie is enough to know it’s just lies. There were mistakes during the Clinton Administration, but not the ones being dramatized as the ‘truth’ in this movie.
Contrary to what some people want to believe, most people aren’t equipped to know the difference between fact and fiction and are easily susceptible to lies and mistruths. The Bush administration are masterful politicians, they convinced most of the American population that the was a link between Iraq and Al Quada and that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction. You only have to look at that statistic to show how gullible people are. Most people aren’t full time foreign policy experts and want to believe their government. To bad it has mislead them. I only wonder about all the good things the Bush administration could have really accomplished if they hadn’t spent all their efforts on a stupid war that has blown up in Americas face. Afghanistan was justified. Iraq was wag the dog to keep people from realizing we were in an economic meltdown and there wasn’t a coherent plan except to balloon the deficit.
I certainly would have preferred preventing the tragedy that happened instead of trying to have my elected leaders capitalize on it for political gain. I used to be a republican, I’m still a moderate and vote for the occasional republican but I can’t stand the lies and hypocrisy of the republican party.

re:
“Path to 9/11â€
To Whom It May Concern:
You are digging your own graves by trying to ensure the re-election of the Republicans who lied us into Iraq. When Adnan Menderez, former prime minister of the Republican of Turkey, was being led to the gallows in 1961, his last words were, “Tell my son not to get involved in politics, lest he lose control of his own destiny.â€
You should heed Menderez’s last words. They will be ABC’s last words, if the Democrats win in November.
Pease let us watch the movie in peace. In reading some of these blogs my opinion of many people unfortunately has changed. So many people out there full of hate. You scare me.
Hey I’m a Republican. Yes there were mistakes made by the Bush Admistration, Clinton as well. Try like I have to not politisize “9/11. My fellow Americans remember who the Real Enemy is. Osama and Company. IF we continue like we are They win.
I’m afraid that it’s all too clear that the real enemy is right here at home, and that it has injured our democracy far more than Osama could ever have hoped to.
As for ABC paying any price if the Democrats win in November, don’t make me laugh: at least half of the Democratic establishment is nearly as firmly in the neocon’s pockets as most of the Republicans are, so just changing the letter after a name from (R) to (D) isn’t likely to accomplish much beyond slowing down our race toward the abyss a little (and perhaps lulling us into a false sense of complacency such that further action won’t be seen as being so critical).
We need to fight lies and spin wherever they occur - person-to-person as well as in the Internet echo chambers (where opinions seldom seem to get changed much). And that fight won’t end in November (or for that matter in November of 2008) no matter what the election results are: the enemy is solidly entrenched and powerful throughout our society, and has demonstrated that it has no intention of fading away quietly.
Wow - I just returned to ABC’s ‘Path to 9/11′ blog to see if a comment I posted in response to a main blog entry purportedly from one of the people involved in producing Al Gore’s “An Inconvenient Truth” had been posted. The first screen I came to (comments on that main blog entry) now indicated that comments for it had been closed (needless to say, without including mine). Next, I found that the entire main blog entry and all its comments had disappeared - apparently, ABC has now rolled the blog back to its state as of yesterday (9/7), though my history entry for today’s blog entry still works (if anyone cares, that link is http://blogs.abc.com/thepathto911/2006/09/looking_inward.html#comments ).
Why is it that the most opinionated, ignorant people always seem to be right wingnuts? “The left embraces freedom of speech only when it favors them” indeed: get a clue, and start by learning something about the history of the ACLU and the full spectrum of speech which it has championed over the decades.
I have no problem with airing right-wing propaganda as long as it’s not presented as something other than what it is. Presenting lies as truth is disgusting regardless of the source - it just happens to be that this time (as is so often the case) the source is neocons.
What are the opponents of this docudramamentary so afraid of? That’s what fascinates me more than anything. Bill Clinton picking up the torch to broom this thing ought to be telling to anyone with half a brain (tied behind their back, or not) that these guys sre scared to death that they will be exposed to the lemmings that buy into the tripe they peddle will see them for what they are. Self serving power mad cowards with no interest in the security of this country.
Where was the outrage over Farenheit 911, Death of a President and Algores’ propaganda film regarding “global warming”, I can’t recall the name of it and frankly could care less. What a joke the liberals have become. Keep shouting from the roof tops, please!
I commend ABC for their producing “The Path To 911″ probably knowing that it would field some controversy. In fact the old adage “Thou doust protest too much” seems to speak volumes about the Clinton administration. The part of the story line they seem to be protesting about how they could have gotten Ben Ladin to me is accurate. For it seems your creative team saw the same segments on both the History Channel as well as PBS as I and my family did.
It’s about time a major network carried this story, that such organizations as the History Channel and PBS dare to do. I have long felt that the presidency and the runningof this country is no longer for the people but for the parties. And as I believe it to be true that is one of the reasons why are has become what it is. This information to begin with when found out should have let know to the people. It’s sad to say ABC has to be the one by doing a docudrama to reveal how such a tradgedy could have been prevented. But sadly enough it only proves that our network news no longer have integrity to rightly inform. In fact they are bevoming more sentsationalize and tabloidy in their reporting. Which leaves it to you to set it right.
I hope you will stand by your story. And release as you intended.
Listen to yourselves…..You are all a bunch of nuts. You sound like a rabid cult. NEWSFLASH… ABC has every right to air whatever they want. You nuts claim to be the champions of free speech, but your dirty secret is that you are only champions of free speech so long as that speech aligns with your crazy ideals. Get a life and learn to love instead of hate.
ABC, please don’t be intimidated by threats from powerful anti-free speech anti- first amendment special interests, into cancelling Pathway To 911
If the movie HONESTLY needs some editing, then so be it, that can be done, and if no changes are necessary, then what’s the problem? Run the movie. Exercise your first amendment rights, and oh yeah, because of the controversy, have a hit program and do the public service for America of giving millions of viewers who will watch ABC Suday and Monday night, a needed wake up call.
Thank You, Chuck from Cypress, Ca
Look who got to preview this movie and hype it before anyone else. Rush “Druggie” Limbaugh and other assorted conservative nut bags. That tells you all you need to know about the slant of this trash.
I believe that everyone needs to remember 9/11 for it it was an attack on the USA by Muslims. They want us dead no other way just dead. Why do we not wake up and see the reality of what 9/11 and post 9/11 mean. To preserve our way of life we need to be strong and support our troops and our president.
Stalin, Hitler= Left wing nutjobs. The left wing lunatics want freedom of speech, unless it reveals something they don’t want people to know about them. They preach tolerance, while attacking anyone who doesn’t fall in file and rank with them. With them it’s ok to kill babies, but not to execute convicted murderers. They act like they’re so saintly, but answer to no higher power than themselves. They are hypocrites and utterly wrong. Wake up! This blame Bush is a bunch of crap. The way some of these Lefties talk, it should now be impossible to trust anyone to lead our country, or is it ok as long as it’s one of their boys?
You people are the most whacked out freaks I have ever come across in my entire life. I could comment on so much of the garbage written above it would take me a month so I’ll just pick two.
They will only use the comments against the LW blogsphere to change the topic from the potentially FALLICIOUS retelling of the 9/11 saga….to how angry, unpatriotic, and unhinged the LW “nutroots†is…
dont fall for it………..
This is completely unnecessary you do a fine job on your own of being ‘LW nutroots’.
When I have to watch a US two star general claiming that the government version of 911 is a lie on youtube, then I realize I am not living in a democracy, because if I was this would be front page news on every newspaper and TV channel in America.
If this completely insane notion had even the slightest bit of evidence to be backed up it would be all over every newspaper and television station it is not becase it is rediculous.
Get a life people. Oh yeah and if Air America is RW to you just how damn Left can a person go. It boggles my mind.
It amazes me that some people have such short memories. It wasn’t too long ago when CBS was to air a docudrama deemed critical of the Reagan administration. It was relegated to run on Showtime to a select few. The fact that ABC did not preview a copy to any medium that may be considered liberal speaks volumes. As for me I will be watching to see who advertises on the program and take appropriate steps
I think the fact that ABC’s own News dept. wants no association with this project and now FOX is promoting it speaks louder than words!!
I mean most of us will probably watch the Manning Brothers go head to head in the Giants vs. Colts game
Or the Deniro piece on CBS..you know a REAL film maker. All this and they will have the lowest ratings ever, open themselves to numerous law suits and hurt their other businesses, AKA Steve Jobs Apple in the process.
Since only right wingers got video copies to preview, there weren’t enough vhs tapes for Bill Clinton and company, I wonder if one was sent to John O’Neill’s girlfriend, Valerie James and his son. I saw on MSNBC with Keith Olbermann that the FBI consultant had walked off after 3 weeks since he didn’t think somethings were protraying John O’Neill properly.
If this amazing man is defamed or misquoted once I hope they sue. I hope you all got to see the Frontline show on PBS about him, it was called, “The Man Who Knew.” I urge you to go to this site and check it out…here is where you will find the truth:
Even if ABC has no ethics in what they air at least PBS is trying. This is a great story about John O’Neill and has a timeline that shows it ALL correct.
If these 2 hacks doing this crappy “film” misrepresent him I will never watch ANY ABC network again
Please go to the link and check it out for yourselves, It was a powerful show you need to see.
Kean, the former Republican New Jersey governor who led the commission, defended the miniseries.
“It’s something the American people should see,” he said in an interview on ABC’s “Good Morning America” Friday. “Because you understand how these people wanted to do us harm, developed this plot, and how the machinations of the American government under two administrations not only failed to stop them, but even failed to slow them down.”
Kean said he hoped people would watch the miniseries to “understand better what went on, and hopefully understand what still needs to be done.”
Geez these guys couldn’t even spell Albright’s name right so that proves how much research they did.
Yeah they checked there sources really well…sorry didn’t mean to choke.
Check it out:
americablog.blogspot.com/2006/09/disneyabc-gets-sec-of-state-albrights.html
Yeah, glad they got their”facts” straight since their lower thirds are wrong!
I love how the producers are spinning this. As of Friday afternoon, 48 hours before a 40 million dollar project is expected to air, they state they are still editing the product. It’s nuts, when something has glaring factual inaccuracies you fix them during shooting. Don’t just try to put lipstick on a pig you had plenty of time to fix it before now. The producers want us to “watch it for ourselves”. Of course they do, they want their ratings as high as possible. The problem is that with even limited viewing, dozens of blatant inaccuracies have been found. With a track record like that on even simple things, the credibility of the whole movie is in question.
If we really want to solve this problem we need to bring Richard “Rouge Warrior” Marcinko out of retirement and put him in charge of anti-terroism. He’s not afraid to go in a kick some ass. He’ll find Bin Ladin and extract justice!

§ 73.3526 of this chapter. Such lists shall be kept and made available
for a period of two years.
I plan to file complaints with the FEC and the FCC about this matter should it air.
Its amazing that someone in the media just touches on Clinton’s incompetence regarding terrorism and evey liberal screems bloody murder. If Clinton had taken some action (and I don’t mean Wolinsky acxtion) maybe 9/11 never would have happended. There were 5 terriost attacks during Clinton’s term and nothing, I repeat, nothing was ever done. Oh yes…that includes the 1st bombing of the World Trade Center. What about Bergergate. I’m sure you all remember Sandy Berger getting caught stealing top secret papers from the National Library that proved Clinton’s lack of interest in terrorism. How about the policy change during Clinton’s years that made it impossible for the CIA and FBI to share knowledge. Do you think that helped or hurt terrorism? I leave you one question…do you think Osama Bin Ladin prefers the Republicans or Democrats?
Would someone please post a list of advertisers on ABC for those two days, (we took ABC out of our DirecTV lineup and the remote skips over ABC and Disney channels now) as we will not tune in to ABC anymore. We agree with the boycott of advertisers on ABC and Dsiney and wish to email or call them to let them know we are boycotting their products and why. We are sure others would like a list also for those two days. thank you all and don’t back down to them, but keep up the heat. This is all about the midterm elections you know and who controls congress.
I have to praise ABC for standing up to the liberal media and those winning democrats and airing a program which explores the obvious but overlooked fact that 9/11 didn’t get built in a day.
I think that the secret weapon that this country has is the incredible intensity of negative energy pocessed by the exteme left. We just need to figure out how to harness this and direct it at those who with to destroy us.
There is no doubt that these freaks here are the EXTREME left. I bet not a single one of em cared one tiny bit about any of the lies told by Michael Moron, and he deliberately tries to pass off his lies as truth. It has been made clear that all the instances in this movie are not exact.
I’m not sure what is so controversial in this movie. As the educated American public that we are, everyone already knew of the 1993 bombing, the missed opportunity in 98, the two embassy bombings, and the foiled millennium bombing. What is the big deal here? I studied this stuff in undergrad seven years ago. What is new? Or is it the fact that the American public isn’t as educated as they claim to be? When facts that can easily be checked are called into question and people boycott channels, it makes you wonder if the only information they receive comes from DNC press conferences or 30 sec. sound bites in between Desperate Housewives and Grey’s Anatomy. Where were all these people during the 90’s? Watching “Friends” I guess. We apparently paid them a million dollars an episode to keep us stupid.
I’ve got a book (for people who remember what that is) “Violence and Terrorism 99/00.” It is published by dushkin/McGraw-Hill. It’s the fifth edition. For those of you who don’t know what a library is they have a web site http://www.dushkin.com/annual editions. For those of you with Clinton era amnesia, some of these articles mention the instances portrayed in the film. Hint: go to the articles that say “Bin Laden” for this case study. And as the title suggests, it was printed before this Bush was president, so can your conspiracy theories that he now has a button for the printing press like his does for when he wants to raise or lower the gas prices. (That is a joke for those of you who don’t know the basic principles of economics; you know supply, demand and hurricane season.)
Anyhow, I’m surprised the terrorist aren’t complaining as it was a female cop in the Philippines and a female border patrol agent who caught two of these guys. That was actually news to me.
You know I think I’ve decided it must have been the visual of Sandy Berger squirming and actually seeing his backbone disappear in front of our eyes that the top ranking Democrats disagreed with. And they are right to be outraged. I’m sure he handled that conference with the same dignity he had when he was caught shoving Clinton era government documents down his pants from the National Archives. (Not a joke, do the leg work and look it up. You might learn something. Although those of you against leaning feel free to set up the blog so that it automatically skips over my comments). Other recommended reading “The New Terrorism” Laqueur 1999.
I don’t think asking ABC to ensure they are factually presenting the events of 9/11 is asking for free speech to be censored. What I see is this: the public airwaves were created by federal statute to be maintained for the greater good of all of us and by nature should not be partisan. Thus the tenent that political office seekers are due equal time to state their points of view–that’s to keep the use fair for all of us rather than favoring one party over the other. ABC isn’t just some company that has the right to do whatever they want with their show–it’s not like they are a cable network. They are using a national public resource and have an obligation/ responsibility to all of us to honor that priviledge. Calling the show a docudrama implies documented, historical accuracy. It’s one thing to leave out parts that can’t be substantiated (which some argue is a lie by ommission) but to simply make up stuff (which you don’t have to see the movie to know…read the 9/11 report…)? That’s not a docudrama. They could have been more accurate when promoting this film and simply said it was a purely fictional dramatic movie with no intent whatsoever to be representative of any actual person or event (like they do on Law and Order…). That’s not what they chose to do. Assigning responsibility for the 9/11 attacks should go where ever it belongs, but imagining that ABC has not been irresponsible in their handling of this show is hard to justify for me. Too bad Oprah and Grey’s Anatomy is on ABC is all I’m saying because I am moving my viewing time away from them.
“Assigning responsibility for the 9/11 attacks should go where ever it belongs”. OK Vicki, that’s what they did. I’m sure part two deriling the Bush admin will not be enough to satisfy your sense of distorted balance. The problem is that the left NEVER takes any criticism and their only focus is ALWAYS political gain, never the well being of their own country. You are an example of the biggest weapon that the Muslim extremists have at their disposal that they so easily use with your obliging consent against us. Extreme liberalism and demonstrated blindness by some on this site truly seems to be a mental disorder. We can only hope to survive this ordeal with people like this working against us in our own society.
Bob You are not alone i posted a comment on Friday in contrast to the far left but his site after a few hours decided it made too much sense and was against their so called freedom of speech. I always thought and now know they only want frredom too those that agree with them
To poster #125. Here you have a liberal willingly assigning responsibility to any and all parties responsible for 9/11 (which includes liberals, Democrats, whoever…) and yet you say “all” liberals can “never” take criticism and imply/say I am some kind of obliging terrorist supporter. Open your mind, dude. Writing off other people’s points of view as mental isn’t gong to make them wrong or make you any more right. I don’t think ANY administration deserves to be mischaracterized or lied about, no matter which administration that is. I never said I did feel that way–you put words and intent in my mouth, very similar to what’s happening with this movie. That technique doesn’t work when there are facts that are known rather than just two Americans conjecturing about it. More importantly, it doesn’t serve any of us to proliferate what isn’t fact. To me, polarization is exactly what we don’t need. You and I are partners in peace whether you like that or not. I’m willing to look beyond how you voted and your general attitude to work to ensure our children are safe. Are you?
To poster #128, listen to the news and the political talking heads, even on Fox. People who were at these events that are being portrayed in the movie have stepped forward and acknowledged the inaccuracies. Too many here to list but it’s easy to research. The outrage for me is that spreading falsehoods takes us farther from solving the problems. If we pretend the situation is something different than it is/was, how can we possibly make an educated decision on what to do next? Guessing hasn’t worked. Logical analysis and thorough examination of both the good and the bad of what has actually happened has a better chance. But, if you believe #125, this is just the opinion of some crazy, terrorist supporting lunatic that only cares about liberals gaining more political power. Probably should discount me….not.
It continues to amaze me how many people leave posts on various websites and blogs such as this one, waxing on about how they’re “embarrassed” to be an American, and how “Bush and collective America..” have become the brutal dictator due to our ongoing actions in the middle east. Need I remind these individuals that the 2,749 people who died at the WTC 5 years ago this morning did nothing to elicit their fate, nor the American heros on United 93, nor the brave men and women at the Pentagon. For people like these who continue to feel as if we should have opined for another 20 years on the floor of the UN before doing anything - do they really think that it is pure happenstance that nothing else has taken place on US soil for the last 5 years?? Please, remove your heads from the sand. And for those of you, and you know who you are, that continue to be “embarrassed” to be an American, I’d remind you that there are plenty of caves available for instance occupancy in Tora Bora.
Thanks for the response Vicki. I had a posting last night at 10:33. It was removed for some reason. I will not attempt to recreate. I assume it would be removed again. I always appreciate different points of view. That’s how I form my opinion. I watched the movie last night (instead of football). I’ll watch tonight as well. The reason is that when I hear the news, etc. talking, commenting, whining about this (or other “contraversial” issues) - I want to form my own opinion.
Was there anything in the first episode that got you fired up or yelling at the TV? I watched. I still don’t see the outrage. When Moore put his movie out, I listened. I watched. I laughed. I watch the nightly news. I listen. I laugh.
I don’t understand why people don’t simply ignore (not watch/participate) or watch and “laugh” if they disagree.
Sure it shows the incompetencies of OUR federal government. It doesn’t matter what administration / President. It’s still all of ours together. The 9 11 commission said the same thing. What’s the big deal? The truth hurts sometimes. I didn’t see anything last night that got me “outraged”.
This is all election day propaganda. Where were all of the 9/11 “events” the past 5 years?? No mini-series, no (televised) ceremonies of any kind. Wake up people, Don’t be so stupid yet AGAIN. The Republicans are terrified, and for good reason.
Talking Point Run-down:
Don’t forget the lessons of 9/11.
Support the troops
Saddam………9/11
WMD
Cut-N-Run
Don’t forget the lessons…
Defending freedom
Fight em’ there instead of here.
9/11….9/11…Booga-Booga
Don’t forget…
Hey, 5 years later and were back where we started.
I really don’t want to think I live in a country filled with people stupid enough to belive any of this crap anymore.
One part that I really didn’t like is the movie asking if Clinton was disengaged because of the Lewinsky scandal. I think a better question would have been to ask if everyone including Congress was hearing anything from the media about what was going on in the world regarding terrorism or if we were only hearing the latest on the government funded investigation of Clinton’s sex life and which friend of Monica was talking on tv. I do not remember the talk shows spending much time on terrorism events worldwide nor what we were doing about it. It interesting to note that the writers once again have to put in a dig against Clinton.
Bob,
Thank you for your reasoned response. I appreciate civil discourse and I respect you for that. (Not maybe as interesting as some of the more outrageous and inflammatory bings back, but I am sincere. ) :-)
I spent my evening last night in mediation for world peace. I voiced my opinion to ABC, got my opinion out there as I felt my responsibility required, ABC was going to do what they were going to do, and people have the option to research the issues/truth themselves if they are that interested and/or offended. Watching a show that is admittedly not accurate (even ABC said it was based on not completely true to fact) just adds to my sadness about the whole WTC event. As I mentioned in my original post, I am boycotting ABC for their irresponsible behavior in how they handle this situation, not because I don’t agree with everything they say. I am voting with my feet. You know, the people in the WTC didn’t die just because our government acted/reacted incompetently. They died because it’s ok with most of us to respond with violence and to not live in compassion with everyone. In general, I find that my ego can get so embroiled in the he said-she said aspect of media in general that I can easily lose sight of what I consider the fundamental goal—peace. Although today we memorialize those who died, I feel my best energy and efforts is spent moving forward in what I consider a larger fundamental way. If I were to say here that I believe that violence of any sort is not the answer, I am sure there are those who would say I am a naive Pollyanna who doesn’t understand the “reality” of this cold cruel world and that is probably the kind version. To those (and hello, take a number…none of you would be the first to call me names because I am a pacifist..) I would tell them that every 3 seconds a child dies somewhere in the world from hunger and hunger related medical problems. That’s alot more people dying in THIS hour, TODAY (and tomorrow, and the next day, and the next day unless something changes) than who died in the WTC yet somehow we, as a general group, seem ok with not being outraged at that happening. We could prevent it, but we do not. As much as I am devoted to my country, I feel more devoted to the human race. As Sting once sang, the Russians love children too. The Muslims love their children too. Jeffrey Dalmer’s mom cried when he died. It doesn’t justify the actions but we need to get in touch with our hearts. Why can’t we just get along sounds childish perhaps, but my question is what can we do with our time that actually builds understanding, compassion, peace, and love today? Could we take a few minutes out of our partisan wrangling, territory claiming, revenge/retribution show of “strength” and show kindness to someone we would normally condemn. I think we could. I pray that we do. I’m stepping down from my soapbox now…I think I’ll go hug a tree now…hahaha! Thanks for your post.
Cory… Finally a person with some common sense and the skills to actually read beyond what the media tells us on the nightly news. I just wanted to acknowledge you for your approach to reality. It’s amazing what one learns when they read a bit deeper on a subject using multiple sources to gather the truth/information and not just relying on assuming they know the truth. I’m glad to see there are some intelligent people in the world. Thank you!
I ALSO SUGGESTED TO ABC\DISNEY FARNH 9/11. IVE SEVERAL MORE SUGGESTIONS FOR THEM AS WELL AS EVERYONE, VENDETTA,AMERICAN DREAM,WHY WE FIGHT, LOOSE CHANGE AND LOOKING FOR COMEDY. THE LOCAL RALEIGH AFFILIATE (SPOKE TO PROGRAMING MANAGER) HAD NEVER HEARD OF, LOOSE CHANGE. SPEAKING WITH HER AS WELL AS OTHERS…YES THE COWARDS ACTUALLY SPOKE TO ME. ALL PUPPETS WITH THE SAME WEAK LINES. I AM A CHRISTIAN(FINE IF YOU ARE NOT)AND IT BREAKS MY HEART TO SEE SO CALLED CHRISTIANS FILLED WITH HATE AND VENOM CONDEM ME WHEN THEY BLASPHEME THE LOVING TEACHINGS OF THE PRINCE OF PEACE. I LOVE AMERICA AND AM PATRIOTIC.WANTING OUR TROOPS HOME AND BUSH AND HIS ENTIRE ADMINISTRATION EXILED WOULD BE A BLESSING TO THE ENTIRE WORLD…NOT UNPATROTIC.
i don’t understand why liberals across the nation are so up in arms about this movie. it is based on the 9/11 commissions report, written by the families of the victims, and while some scenes contain dramatization, the actual information presented is factual. to compare this movie to the “documentary” Fahrenheit 9/11 is absolutely ridiculous. Fahrenheit 9/11 was so far fetched that i can’t even understand the most liberal of people buying into it as if it were based on any facts. that movie was a political STATEMENT, not at all intending on conveying to the public what actually transpired on 9/11 or the events leading up to it. we are the target of terrorism because of our support of the jews in israel, and i find it ironic that the “humanitarian” liberals are the ones so strongly protesting our efforts to liberate them from the persecution they have suffered from for so long.
Did I misunderstand what Gore said when he was shown announcing the electoral votes of the 2002 election in tonights episode of The Path to 9/11. I thought he said that the electoral votes of Tennessee went to him, Al Gore. However, if memory serves me correctly, he didn’t carry his home state. Does anyone have this Tvo’d so they can replay it?
Anybody wanna post a quick link?
September 5th, 2006 at 4:35 pmAmerica’s Least Wanted
Oh my god, either their blog registration is out of order, or they don’t REALLY want us saying what we think on THEIR blog. I think a little of both.
I think this is a case where the dedicated just start calling the ABC heads & let them know what we think….about 1000 times a day. ALSO, write you local & national papers and say what a hoax and pack of lies this is.
Media coverage baby, we can play that game too.
September 5th, 2006 at 4:35 pmThe problem with the media game is that not everyone has the money to promote nationally like ABC. Viral Internet marketing is successful…
September 5th, 2006 at 4:40 pmAh, more of that looney Liberal-controlled media!
September 5th, 2006 at 4:40 pmEh, found it for anyone wanting to waste their time there.
http://blogs.abc.com/thepathto911/
America’s Least Wanted
September 5th, 2006 at 4:41 pmMaybe we could ask ABC if they would, for the sake of pure bipartisanship, run Farenheit 911 right after the second installment of this new “fictional” film. In fact maybe they could run Moore’s film commercial free since the corporate sponsors of their effort will be more than happy to fork over millions in cash to spread the inherent conservative message.
September 5th, 2006 at 4:42 pm[…] UPDATE: Without explaination, ABC brought the blog back online sometime Tuesday. […]
September 5th, 2006 at 4:44 pmAll comments there are moderated. There’s a surprise.
…nothin’ like controlling the message, eh?
September 5th, 2006 at 4:50 pmSpyder
Well said. If ABC were to actually broadcast Fahrenheit 9/11, it would make it possible for conservatives to see the documentary which they have been so fond of criticizing, though almost none of them had actually the time to see the film which they had so enthusiastically bashed.
September 5th, 2006 at 4:53 pmthere is no link I can find to it at all
September 5th, 2006 at 4:54 pm“Comments are moderated, and will not appear on this weblog until the author has approved them.”
The most recent comment is from September 2. I’ll be checking in every so often to see if mine gets posted. I wonder what the Las Vegas odds would be on that?
September 5th, 2006 at 4:55 pmHow many more have noticed the blantant in your face ABC Christian, right wing pushing programming they’ve been doing just about every week now. Many of the programs have been hosted by that Nixon loving toadie, Diane Sawyer.
September 5th, 2006 at 4:59 pmSince ABC and it’s conservative allies have decided to play hardball by not allowing advertisers to be put at risk of boycott by sponsoring this program. The only solution is to bat that hardball back to ABC and its conservative allies by boycotting ALL of ABC’s advertisers that advertise on September 10 and 11. A boycott of 12 months should send the right message.
September 5th, 2006 at 5:03 pm9/11 was a midEast “terrorist†retaliation in response
to Dick Cheney’s 1990-91 treacherous, no honor, FASLE
September 5th, 2006 at 5:04 pmOh man am I glad Monday Night Football is not on ABC!
September 5th, 2006 at 5:04 pmThose having trouble finding the link, click on the words “Drop by” in the text above. Yeah, I always miss those sneaky links myself. Remember to be polite. A certain quote comes to mind (though I don’t know why), “Forgive them, Lord, they know not what they do.”
September 5th, 2006 at 5:05 pmTONY BLAIR TO LEAVE 31ST MARCH NEXT YEAR
BYe BYE PUPPET GEORGE BUSH NEXT
September 5th, 2006 at 5:09 pmTobey,
Is he resigning? Or is his term of office up then? Inquiring minds want to know. I’m glad you’re here, Tobey, or else I might not ever learn much of what goes on outside our borders. I have the feeling that if Rumsfeld were fired or resigned, you would know about it before we would.
September 5th, 2006 at 5:12 pmBAD NEWS FOR AMERICA HES COMMING OVER THERE TO EARN MILLIONS WITH THE CARLYE GROUP SELLING YOUR WEAPONS
September 5th, 2006 at 5:13 pmresigning yes
September 5th, 2006 at 5:14 pmThanks, Tobey. I thought I had heard that he had already lined up his stint at the Carlyle Group for when he eventually left office. They owe it to him. Without his support, I doubt Bush would have invaded Iraq alone (I don’t really count the other members of the ‘Coalition of the Willing’ as real participants.)
September 5th, 2006 at 5:19 pmi will certainly not buy the products advertized on your channel, knowing that this is a commercial free program.
September 5th, 2006 at 5:33 pmWell I left a comment but I shall be surprised to see those jumped up monkeys post it.
September 5th, 2006 at 5:43 pmThey will only use the comments against the LW blogsphere to change the topic from the potentially FALLICIOUS retelling of the 9/11 saga….to how angry, unpatriotic, and unhinged the LW “nutroots” is…
dont fall for it………..
September 5th, 2006 at 5:48 pmthis movie is identical in function and timing to the “swift boat†attack on sen kerry in 2004.
there is nothing more that needs be said about it other than that it is another karl rove’s third-party pre-election stunts to draw attention away from the bush administration’s domestic and foreign policy failures
but
as long as people fight about the content of the film or its fairness,
then
they will not be spending time talking about george bush’s six years of presidential misjudgments and misrepresentations.
or about
the failure of two republican congresses to engage in oversight of the president’s numerous and serious mistakes and misrepresentations.
the proper line of criticism on this film should not be its content but it’s deployment in september as a political tactic in an election year -
as yet another political lie designed by rove to allow bush and the republican party to avoid scrutiny and criticism.
September 5th, 2006 at 5:48 pmThere is no such thing as “rewriting history” unless you call it pure historical fiction which is precisely what this is.
September 5th, 2006 at 5:57 pmDisney - who’s that???
on C & L you can also find a list of the show’s sponsors. The public is outraged and the sponsors are being pressured by people’s quest for Truth - not fiction! Plenty of movie channels to watch if we want fiction!
September 5th, 2006 at 5:59 pmWith this weekend’s upcoming mockumentary “The Path to 9/11,” Disney and ABC are breaking dangerous new ground in
the conservative propaganda war. Even as the ABC network follows in the footsteps of Mel Gibson and The Passion of
the Christ in “mobilizing the base,” ABC News on Sunday declared Robert Greenwald’s new documentary “Iraq for Sale:
The War Profiteers” a left-wing hatchet job “produced like a political campaign.”
For the details, see:
“ABC Slams New Iraq Documentary, Ignores Own 9/11
Right-Wing Fantasy.”
September 5th, 2006 at 6:03 pmJudging by ABC’s lineup, it looks like I’ll be unintentionally boycotting them anyway.
It’ll make me feel like a republican, you know, sacrificing without really having to sacrifice.
September 5th, 2006 at 6:12 pmTobey -
September 5th, 2006 at 6:21 pmI heard there would be a no confidence vote (or something like that in Parliament) but is it a fact that he will step down? Initially I heard that he might be forced to leave at the year’s end - but 3/31/07 will have to do.
I liked him at one time — I just lost all respect for him (along with so many others) when his brown nose became obvious. He is indeed Bush’s poodle.
He can speak well extemporaneously, but when what he says is aligned with Bush, his speaking talent is totally irrelevant.
My comment hasn’t shown up yet.
You guys are really great for covering this whole story, I haven’t seen anyone else covering it, personally.
September 5th, 2006 at 6:36 pmModerated comments indeed! Fantastic work in your coverage of this. For people who wish to write or phone into ABC to protest this ‘docudrama’ is there special contact information specifically dealing with this program?
Disney is a part of this??? jeebus, how much more are we to take?
September 5th, 2006 at 6:48 pm911 was an inside job…the “new pearl harbor” as described in PNAC, which was signed by Cheney Wolfowitz and Rumsfeld. According to most opinion, polls, the majority now realize this. Watch “loose change” and “everybody’s gotta learn sometime” at google video. Educate yourself and join the democracy.
It’s bad news for the government and for the government shills like the corporate media.
September 5th, 2006 at 7:07 pmWhen I have to watch a US two star general claiming that the government version of 911 is a lie on youtube, then I realize I am not living in a democracy, because if I was this would be front page news on every newspaper and TV channel in America.
The 911 truth movement has something great on it’s side…..the truth.
I agree with the post above that the corporate media has completely failed the american public. As far as I’m concerned, they are complicit in the cover up and this trash coming out is just more of the same.

September 5th, 2006 at 7:17 pmSince they no longer allow posting at the “Path to 9/11″ site:
“Watch the movie! Then let’s talk. If you haven’t seen the movie with your very own eyes - don’t castigate the movie out of ignorance.” So, you say trust us.
“Wanted dead or alive”
“just not that interested in him anymore”
“Slam Dunk”
“Mushroom clouds”
“greeted as liberators”
“freedom is complicated”
“a few dead enders”
“bring it on”
“last throes, if you will”
“I’m the decider”
Well ABC it seems that enablers, like your corporation, have an agenda of promoting lies. So please don’t ask for even a “little bitty more” of our trust. Just admit what your motives are; propping up the GOP for the November election.
How about trusting your viewers by giving free air time to “Fahrenheit 9/11†back to back right before each “Path to 9/11
September 5th, 2006 at 7:21 pmApparently this David Cunningham guy isn’t smart enough to realize that the “docu” in docudrama is the shortened version of documentary.
September 5th, 2006 at 7:53 pmFunny how my comment disappeared after I posted my opinion including my boycot of ABC. As always, I did not threaten, swear or acknowledge the right wing postings. I just put down my opinion that it was a propaganda movie and it was no use in denying this.
September 5th, 2006 at 8:04 pmOh wow. Keith just did another special commentary to Bush! He addressed Bush and ended with asking “Have you no sense of Shame, Sir?”
September 5th, 2006 at 8:07 pmGo Keith. Kick it!
Yes, I saw the show. It’s worth staying up late for the replay, folks.
September 5th, 2006 at 8:55 pmSo much is delivered in the first half of the show - I may watch it again.
September 5th, 2006 at 9:12 pmIt is obvious that this is another attempt by the Right to change history to their liking. Who does that sound like? Not the democracy that many of us fought for, but a terrified and crazed minority that wants to stay in power. Their hatred of virtually everything that is really American is truly remarkable. I for one will no longer watch ABC programming if they go through with this abomination.
September 5th, 2006 at 9:20 pmABC’s up-coming story attempting to gull listeners into believing that the murderous events of 9/11 can be attributed to the Clinton Administration, instead of to the Bush Cabal, will be heard with the contempt it deserves by those of us who already know (by simply good sense) of the strong connection between the ABC network and the
September 5th, 2006 at 9:21 pmforces of conservative and neocon opinion.
Rev. Fowler,
AMEN.
i recently asked my 83yr old mother, after hearing the news report about the supreme court’s ruling against whistle blowers, “mom, did you ever think you would see the day america turned to tyranny?”… she angrily answered, “no.
September 5th, 2006 at 9:39 pmplease continue to inform and educate us!
thank you!
Well said, Rev Fowler. Welcome!
September 5th, 2006 at 9:59 pmTomorrow we will be treated to “Swift Boater†part two.
September 5th, 2006 at 10:10 pm.
I’m curious, has anyone here successfully commented on that blog today?
September 5th, 2006 at 10:36 pmI just posted the following on ABC website for this piece of agitprop:
“I quess if only Clinton had invaded a country that had nothing to do with Bin-Laden and taken more vacations. The author of this intentionally misleading collection of right-wing urban legends has his target audience figured out, to quote S. Cobert “the problem is that the facts have a anti-Bush bias”. Heck of a job Nowrastehie.”
Let’s see if it gets posted.
September 5th, 2006 at 10:37 pmSomeone needs to correct this post - the blog is back but not taking comments.
Also, you need to let Apple know you’ll be cancelling your iTunes account if they redistribute this rubbish:

I posted a message this afternoon and it has not yet appeared on the blog.
September 5th, 2006 at 11:38 pmIt seems ABC has become a part of that, “Vast Right Wing Conspiracy” by promoting misinformation, inuendo and out right lies in the form of the DocuDrama The Path to 9/11 to be aired September 11, 2006.
September 6th, 2006 at 12:47 amABC has become a goofy network just like FOX!
September 6th, 2006 at 12:52 amAnd ABC looses M Night Football. Now I never have to watch that network again.
Yeah, I posted as well, it hasn’t showed up yet. Still waiting.
September 6th, 2006 at 12:53 amABC took a little break, so they could solicit the advice of the rightwing blogs, on how best to control the content of their ‘blog’.
September 6th, 2006 at 12:55 amThis is more Republican propaganda. This fictionalizes history. If the Reagan movie was not allowed to be shown, this program should not be shown either.
September 6th, 2006 at 3:26 amHow can abc show this on fifth anniversry of 9/11 and face the families of all that died that day. A fairy Tale about all this tradgedy is unthinkable. As far as putting this in schools i hope anyone who does gets sued to the highest degree for showing lies as history. Totally amazing i will never watch abc again and will find other places besides Disney to entertain my grandchildren
September 6th, 2006 at 3:32 amWe all know ABC and DISNEY’s products are all about FANTASY…
This program is just more of the same.
We need to start using the old standby of BOYCOTTING…
DISNEY, ABC, et al organizations that support this administration… when their pocket books are hurting… they will pay attention!
September 6th, 2006 at 6:34 amI’m removing ABC from my favorites list on both my computer and television. Thank God for parental locks cause I can block it for all the family. They won’t show Saving Private Ryan but will show this garbage lies about Clinton and 9/11………..it’s crap……….bye bye abc!!!
September 6th, 2006 at 8:52 am[…] Help the truth by signing our ABC petition to stop their biased 9/11 broadcast! ABC’s “Path to 9/11″ Blog has returned, two days after it was taken down without explanation. Feel free to drop by and make your voice heard…but be polite. […]
September 6th, 2006 at 9:12 amAnyone who posts at the ABC 9-11 “docudrama” blog better not post stupid crazy shit like “9-11 was an insdie job” done by Bush, the Saudis, the Zionists, or whatever. I can just see the right-wing hacks at ABC selectively allowing only the most retarded criticisms of their “docudrama” going through.
September 6th, 2006 at 9:22 amI don’t understand why HuffPost and Daily Kos are putting this on the proverbial “back burner”, just check those sites. They should be coordinating efforts with Think Progress to motivate and activate readers! I’m in shock! How come Berger isn’t being more vocal? How about Ben-Veniste? How about Bubba? WE CAN NOT LET THIS AIR!
September 6th, 2006 at 9:32 amDoes anyone have contact info for Joel Stein at CQ, the ONLY non-blog media to report on this? It seems he needs to be made aware of the Scholastic connection.
I posted my “comment” on Sept 5, 2006 and it hasn’t shown up either. Some democracy we live in, huh?
September 6th, 2006 at 9:34 amthe path to 9/11…
the most interesting thing i see about this whole path to 9/11 miniseries controversy ……
September 6th, 2006 at 10:09 amThe blog does not seem to be taking any more comments. I sent in a comment last night and it is still not there. My comment was along the lines of: please don’t air something that is politically driven to mislead the public. I cannot believe that those few comments are the only ones that have been sent.
September 6th, 2006 at 12:02 pmGreat.
September 6th, 2006 at 12:14 pmBy the way, the comments are moderated.
September 6th, 2006 at 5:21 pmCan’t wait for the big event.
September 6th, 2006 at 10:59 pmYou know…forgive me, but some folks may not like this…I don’t have a problem placing blame where blame lies.
September 7th, 2006 at 3:04 amReportedly, the PT9-11 ‘docudrama’ downplays the open-season ‘kill order’ that Clinton directed against OBL, and it falsely portrays the Clinton team as botching a killing of OBL at point blank range.
September 7th, 2006 at 4:06 amI’m quite amazed at the posts here.
September 7th, 2006 at 5:01 amWhat an amazing feeding frenzy of hate and bile. Why do so many of the ‘true believers’ fear that the American public will get a chance to so this movie and decide for themselves?
September 7th, 2006 at 7:14 amIt’s boycott time.
September 7th, 2006 at 9:07 amYesterday I left a comment on the latest post to ABC’s Path to 9/11 blog. They have not seen fit to allow it to post. In fact, no comments have been allowed through since 9/2/06.
September 7th, 2006 at 10:52 amWhat is the far left afraid of.
September 7th, 2006 at 11:18 am911 as entertainment.
September 7th, 2006 at 11:27 amThe ABC blog is busted
They apparently do NOT want any more comments.
They are ignoring all input. They have revealed themselves to be nothing but Bush propagandists.
It is time to boycott ABC and their sponsors. ABC has chosen to become another Faux network.
September 7th, 2006 at 12:22 pmWa… wa… wa
It is just a movie.. isn’t that what everyone was saying with the M Moore movie which was really crap too.
No one tells the full truth on anything anymore … you have to hunt it down for yourself. No one is beyond making mistakes. The problems is with those who hide their mistakes and point the finger at others… trying to fix the ones made in the past.
September 7th, 2006 at 2:27 pmThe Leftist nutjobs are pissed because a bit of truth is being brought to the forefront to show that the enemy is not George Bush…it is the U.S. Liberal Obstructionistis. Sit back, listen to the Prez’s “pregame” speeches, watch Bush’s approval ratings soar, and kiss November GOODBYE! Adios Speaker Peloser!
September 7th, 2006 at 3:36 pmI called ABC today (212 456-7777) to register my concerns about the lies in THE PATH TO 9/11.
September 7th, 2006 at 3:49 pmFirst, shut up until you see the movie… you are judging something before you even see it!
September 7th, 2006 at 5:16 pmAlso, ABC is a company in AMERICA and they have every right to air it!
September 7th, 2006 at 8:04 pmThis docudrama has not even aired and the Democratic party is going ballistic!
September 8th, 2006 at 1:09 amI wonder if the movie can explain how and why WTC 7 collapsed…?
September 8th, 2006 at 1:15 amClinton did not have to take vacations, he just went into the oval office and had an affair while he was dealing with the supposecd business of government.
September 8th, 2006 at 4:05 amAnother thing Congress gave Clinton the go ahead to take out Saddam in 1996, but he did not do.
September 8th, 2006 at 4:21 amIT is amusing how you baby killing homo lovers want everything about that adulterous Clinton censored. IDIOTS
September 8th, 2006 at 6:38 amHello my delusional Republican friends!
September 8th, 2006 at 8:07 amMost Important- call or email everyone who advertises on ABC and tell them you will never buy their products if this airs!!
September 8th, 2006 at 9:26 amWhy is it that those that scream frredom of speech are so upset about a movie they have not seen.
September 8th, 2006 at 11:10 amAll these comments about ABC and Busch Adminstration is democracy people. Only in America can you slam the President of the United States, the posters on this page need to remember that! I don’t know how much of the mini-series is fact, but people are totally naive if they believe that the Clinton Administration was not also to blame for 9-11
September 8th, 2006 at 12:11 pmahhhh, love this blogging thing! amazing how someone with the name “portia”, should conjure up visions of beauty ,finese, and intelligence and a name such as “douggie”, might remind us of a dog or a three year old with very little brain power! but alas, not here, because portia reminds us of why we need not fear our republican(missing a few gene) counterparts, and douggie reminds us if brain power is the criteria, we win back the house this november!!!
September 8th, 2006 at 4:13 pmKeep calling ABC (212 456-7777) to protest the lies.
September 8th, 2006 at 4:18 pmContrary to what some people want to believe, most people aren’t equipped to know the difference between fact and fiction and are easily susceptible to lies and mistruths.
By the way the link in the first postis great
America’s Least Wanted

September 8th, 2006 at 4:41 pmPease let us watch the movie in peace. In reading some of these blogs my opinion of many people unfortunately has changed. So many people out there full of hate. You scare me.
September 8th, 2006 at 5:47 pmHey I’m a Republican.
September 8th, 2006 at 6:43 pmWow - I just returned to ABC’s ‘Path to 9/11′ blog to see if a comment I posted in response to a main blog entry purportedly from one of the people involved in producing Al Gore’s “An Inconvenient Truth” had been posted. The first screen I came to (comments on that main blog entry) now indicated that comments for it had been closed (needless to say, without including mine). Next, I found that the entire main blog entry and all its comments had disappeared - apparently, ABC has now rolled the blog back to its state as of yesterday (9/7), though my history entry for today’s blog entry still works (if anyone cares, that link is http://blogs.abc.com/ thepathto911/ 2006/ 09/ looking_inward.html#comments ).
September 8th, 2006 at 7:03 pmThe left embraces “freedom of speech” only whem it favors them. I’m surprised we were all not converted and speaking Farsi by the end of 1999.
September 8th, 2006 at 7:05 pmTo post 15: Egads, man, you are so on the money. What a horrible dilemna that prospect would have presented us with. God is good.
September 8th, 2006 at 8:03 pmWhy is it that the most opinionated, ignorant people always seem to be right wingnuts? “The left embraces freedom of speech only when it favors them” indeed: get a clue, and start by learning something about the history of the ACLU and the full spectrum of speech which it has championed over the decades.
I have no problem with airing right-wing propaganda as long as it’s not presented as something other than what it is. Presenting lies as truth is disgusting regardless of the source - it just happens to be that this time (as is so often the case) the source is neocons.
September 8th, 2006 at 8:33 pmWhat are the opponents of this docudramamentary so afraid of?
September 8th, 2006 at 9:23 pmI commend ABC for their producing “The Path To 911″ probably knowing that it would field some controversy.
September 9th, 2006 at 4:19 amListen to yourselves…..You are all a bunch of nuts.
September 9th, 2006 at 8:16 am
September 9th, 2006 at 4:43 pmABC, please don’t be intimidated by threats from powerful anti-free speech anti- first amendment special interests, into cancelling Pathway To 911
If the movie HONESTLY needs some editing, then so be it, that can be done, and if no changes are necessary, then what’s the problem? Run the movie. Exercise your first amendment rights, and oh yeah, because of the controversy, have a hit program and do the public service for America of giving millions of viewers who will watch ABC Suday and Monday night, a needed wake up call.
Thank You, Chuck from Cypress, Ca
Look who got to preview this movie and hype it before anyone else. Rush “Druggie” Limbaugh and other assorted conservative nut bags. That tells you all you need to know about the slant of this trash.
September 9th, 2006 at 5:06 pmI believe that everyone needs to remember 9/11 for it it was an attack on the USA by Muslims. They want us dead no other way just dead. Why do we not wake up and see the reality of what 9/11 and post 9/11 mean. To preserve our way of life we need to be strong and support our troops and our president.
September 9th, 2006 at 9:00 pmStalin, Hitler= Left wing nutjobs.
September 10th, 2006 at 12:51 amThe Bush regime has done more to undermine our democratc institutions and our way of life than bin Laden or anyone else could ever hope to do.
September 10th, 2006 at 1:09 amYou people are the most whacked out freaks I have ever come across in my entire life.
September 10th, 2006 at 1:37 amIt amazes me that some people have such short memories.
September 10th, 2006 at 7:39 amI think the fact that ABC’s own News dept. wants no association with this project and now FOX is promoting it speaks louder than words!!
I hope you all got to see the Frontline show on PBS about him, it was called, “The Man Who Knew.” I urge you to go to this site and check it out…here is where you will find the truth:
http://www.pbs.org/ wgbh/ pages/ frontline/ shows/ knew/
Even if ABC has no ethics in what they air at least PBS is trying. This is a great story about John O’Neill and has a timeline that shows it ALL correct.
If these 2 hacks doing this crappy “film” misrepresent him I will never watch ANY ABC network again
Please go to the link and check it out for yourselves, It was a powerful show you need to see.
September 10th, 2006 at 8:26 amKean, the former Republican New Jersey governor who led the commission, defended the miniseries.
September 10th, 2006 at 10:21 amGeez these guys couldn’t even spell Albright’s name right so that proves how much research they did.
Yeah they checked there sources really well…sorry didn’t mean to choke.
Check it out:
americablog.blogspot.com/2006/09/disneyabc-gets-sec-of-state-albrights.html
Yeah, glad they got their”facts” straight since their lower thirds are wrong!
September 10th, 2006 at 3:09 pmI love how the producers are spinning this.
September 10th, 2006 at 5:16 pmIf we really want to solve this problem we need to bring Richard “Rouge Warrior” Marcinko out of retirement and put him in charge of anti-terroism. He’s not afraid to go in a kick some ass. He’ll find Bin Ladin and extract justice!
September 10th, 2006 at 5:22 pmNow that it aired abroad:http://www.editorandpublisher.com/eandp/news/article_display.jsp?vnu_content_id=1003119684
Thought I’d pass on some relevant FCC regulations pertaining to ABC’s
commercial-free broadcast of “The Path to 9/11″:
http://www.fcc.gov/ mb/ policy/ political/ candrule.htm
From the Relevant Sections of the FCC’s Rules Dealing with Broadcast
Stations
Communications Act of 1934
Section 73.1212 [47 CFR §73.1212] Sponsorship identification; list
retention; related requirements.:
(d) In the case of any political broadcast matter or any broadcast
matter involving the discussion of a controversial issue of public
importance for which any film, record, transcription, talent, script, or
other material or service of any kind is furnished, either directly or
indirectly, to a station as an inducement for broadcasting such matter,
an announcement shall be made both at the beginning and conclusion of
such broadcast on which such material or service is used that such film,
record, transcription, talent, script, or other material or service has
been furnished to such station in connection with the transmission of
such broadcast matter: Provided, however, That in the case of any
broadcast of 5 minutes’ duration or less, only one such announcement
need be made either at the beginning or conclusion of the broadcast.
(e) The announcement required by this section shall, in addition to
stating the fact that the broadcast matter was sponsored, paid for or
furnished, fully and fairly disclose the true identity of the person or
persons, or corporation, committee, association or other unincorporated
group, or other entity by whom or on whose behalf such payment is made
or promised, or from whom or on whose behalf such services or other
valuable consideration is received, or by whom the material or services
referred to in paragraph (d) of this section are furnished. Where an
agent or other person or entity contracts or otherwise makes
arrangements with a station on behalf of another, and such fact is known
or by the exercise of reasonable diligence, as specified in paragraph
(b) of this section, could be known to the station, the announcement
shall disclose the identity of the person or persons or entity on whose
behalf such agent is acting instead of the name of such agent. Where the
material broadcast is political matter or matter involving the
discussion of a controversial issue of public importance and a
corporation, committee, association or other unincorporated group, or
other entity is paying for or furnishing the broadcast matter, the
station shall, in addition to making the announcement required by this
section, require that a list of the chief executive officers or members
of the executive committee or of the board of directors of the
corporation, committee, association or other unincorporated group, or
other entity shall be made available for public inspection at the
location specified by the licensee under § 73.3526 of this chapter. If
the broadcast is originated by a network, the list may, instead, be
retained at the headquarters office of the network or at the location
where the originating station maintains its public inspection file under
§ 73.3526 of this chapter. Such lists shall be kept and made available
for a period of two years.
I plan to file complaints with the FEC and the FCC about this matter should it air.
September 10th, 2006 at 5:51 pmIts amazing that someone in the media just touches on Clinton’s incompetence regarding terrorism and evey liberal screems bloody murder.
September 10th, 2006 at 6:14 pmWould someone please post a list of advertisers on ABC for those two days, (we took ABC out of our DirecTV lineup and the remote skips over ABC and Disney channels now) as we will not tune in to ABC anymore.
September 10th, 2006 at 10:27 pmI have to praise ABC for standing up to the liberal media and those winning democrats and airing a program which explores the obvious but overlooked fact that 9/11 didn’t get built in a day.
September 10th, 2006 at 10:44 pmI think that the secret weapon that this country has is the incredible intensity of negative energy pocessed by the exteme left. We just need to figure out how to harness this and direct it at those who with to destroy us.
September 11th, 2006 at 2:37 amThere is no doubt that these freaks here are the EXTREME left. I bet not a single one of em cared one tiny bit about any of the lies told by Michael Moron, and he deliberately tries to pass off his lies as truth. It has been made clear that all the instances in this movie are not exact.
September 11th, 2006 at 3:12 amI’m not sure what is so controversial in this movie.
September 11th, 2006 at 3:16 amI’ve got a book (for people who remember what that is) “Violence and Terrorism 99/00.” It is published by dushkin/McGraw-Hill.
September 11th, 2006 at 3:43 am“Assigning responsibility for the 9/11 attacks should go where ever it belongs”.
September 11th, 2006 at 4:07 amI posted one last night at 10:33.
September 11th, 2006 at 8:44 amIt was there last night between what is now #119 & #120.
Why was it removed?
Bob You are not alone i posted a comment on Friday in contrast to the far left but his site after a few hours decided it made too much sense and was against their so called freedom of speech. I always thought and now know they only want frredom too those that agree with them
September 11th, 2006 at 9:35 amCan someone point out one thing in the movie that was not “fair or accurate”? What is the outrage here? What was misleading or deflamitory?
September 11th, 2006 at 10:03 amTo poster #125.
September 11th, 2006 at 11:34 amIt continues to amaze me how many people leave posts on various websites and blogs such as this one, waxing on about how they’re “embarrassed” to be an American, and how “Bush and collective America..” have become the brutal dictator due to our ongoing actions in the middle east.
September 11th, 2006 at 12:19 pmThanks for the response Vicki.
Help me out here.
September 11th, 2006 at 12:20 pmThis is all election day propaganda. Where were all of the 9/11 “events” the past 5 years?? No mini-series, no (televised) ceremonies of any kind. Wake up people, Don’t be so stupid yet AGAIN. The Republicans are terrified, and for good reason.
Talking Point Run-down:
Don’t forget the lessons of 9/11.
Support the troops
Saddam………9/11
WMD
Cut-N-Run
Don’t forget the lessons…
Defending freedom
Fight em’ there instead of here.
9/11….9/11…Booga-Booga
Don’t forget…
Hey, 5 years later and were back where we started.
September 11th, 2006 at 12:21 pmI really don’t want to think I live in a country filled with people stupid enough to belive any of this crap anymore.
They haven’t posted any of my comments yet on the ABC blog. But someone has to read them, and that is the point isn’t it.
September 11th, 2006 at 1:01 pmOne part that I really didn’t like is the movie asking if Clinton was disengaged because of the Lewinsky scandal.
September 11th, 2006 at 1:11 pmBob,
Thank you for your reasoned response.
September 11th, 2006 at 1:12 pmCory… Finally a person with some common sense and the skills to actually read beyond what the media tells us on the nightly news. I just wanted to acknowledge you for your approach to reality. It’s amazing what one learns when they read a bit deeper on a subject using multiple sources to gather the truth/information and not just relying on assuming they know the truth. I’m glad to see there are some intelligent people in the world. Thank you!
September 11th, 2006 at 1:18 pmI ALSO SUGGESTED TO ABC\DISNEY FARNH 9/11.
September 11th, 2006 at 4:19 pmi don’t understand why liberals across the nation are so up in arms about this movie. it is based on the 9/11 commissions report, written by the families of the victims, and while some scenes contain dramatization, the actual information presented is factual. to compare this movie to the “documentary” Fahrenheit 9/11 is absolutely ridiculous.
September 11th, 2006 at 8:26 pmDid I misunderstand what Gore said when he was shown announcing the electoral votes of the 2002 election in tonights episode of The Path to 9/11. I thought he said that the electoral votes of Tennessee went to him, Al Gore. However, if memory serves me correctly, he didn’t carry his home state. Does anyone have this Tvo’d so they can replay it?
September 11th, 2006 at 9:09 pmAnd now the kicker this lying right wing show is lined up with Bush’s speech where he falsly equates for the ni
