some guy says:
didn’t saint rudy tell everyone that the air was safe? didn’t the EPA tell everyone that the air was safe?
oh, wait, it was clinton’s fault. just ask ABC.
It will be interesting to see how this one shakes out. Will the EPA be held accountable for telling everybody that the air was safe, reportedly at the insitence of the White House? Or will the White House and other segments of the administration deflect blame? Will the people who are now sick be able to sue Saudi Arabia for funding some of the 9/11 hijackers? Will they be able to sue Pakistan for thier role, through the ISI, in funding the 9/11 attacks? This will get more interesting, trust me.
So why didn’t the Mooslims wait until we had the proper breathing appuratus in place before they tried to convert us? I keep hearing that they are the religion of peace, what’s up with that?
The article “Ground Zero Air Quality Was Brutal…” (Sept. 10, front page) by Jane Kay was lackluster. Although Professor Thomas Cahill had determined those who worked in and around Ground Zero suffered a “brutal” exposure of sulfuric acid, glass particles, etc., aerosaling into the workers’ systems was nothing short of a major criminal act, carried out by our President Bush.
The very language of the article lacked conviction of its assertion: to get to the underbelly of Ground Zero. President Bush ordered the EPA to lie about the lethal levels of contaminants thus putting the workers in harm’s way. The self-serving statements in the article such as: “The EPA issued misleading assurances”–”Christie Whitman was premature to say it was safe”–”The White House convinced EPA to add reassuring statements, deleting cautionary ones”, and so and so are examples of a cover-up. All this should be a comfort for the 500 firefighters who had to “retire as a result of respiratory disability” as oppose to being layoff because they were “gagging” to death.
President Bush had condemned these “heroic” firefighters and others to a slow and agonizing misery in order to serve his political agenda. If the Marquis de Sade were still will us on this second anniversay of 9/11, he would have gasped, “Sulfuric acid, chlorine, and glass particles, Oh my!”
I forget – can someone remind me what was the big rush was to remove and destroy all the debris from the biggest crime scene in the history of mankind, at the risk of jeopardizing both the lives of the workers and investigation itself ?
i cannot remember which AirAmerica show i heard it on this weekend, but the guest was talking about this problem… it was noted that rudy suppressed a report about the hazards, refusing any federal funds for the cleanup… he was in a big hurry, not considering the repercussions or the health of the people… only after bloomberg was mayor did he ask for federal epa help… the residents of that area are also suffering health problems… they were not instructed on proper cleanup methods…

What do the Muslims have to do with the clean-up procedures not being safe? …. Oh, right! The Noresponsibility Party has to divert attention and blame – again.
FDNY were our real heroes on those sad days.
Figures; real heroes have no place in the Bush agenda. They make up heroes with distorted facts & lies.
Having been a fireman for many years and watching many suffer extreme respiratory problems in later years from massive smoke & particle inhalation, it really upsets me that, once again, Bushbag & cohorts find distorting facts more conenient than truth.
This garbage has to have some sunlight on it. All Americans should be aware of this cover up before the elections. I don’t believe anyone with a conscience can vote R this Nov. after realizing we deliberately put firefighter’s in harm’s way to avoid inconvenient truths.
Keep in mind, also, that the dust wasn’t supposed to be there in the first place. No official body has presented any kind of explanation for the pulverization of non-metallic tower components. I can’t imagine how it could have happened without some kind of destructive devices.

Gee, ya think drywall and concrete being crushed by tons and tons of collasping debris wound’t be turned into dust? But the stuff I buy from Home Depot can be smashed with a hammer into dust…..hmm.
Yeh, Rudy’s my hero. He saved the day! Weeeeeeeeee…..!!!!
More like he condemned another few thousand people to early deaths.
STUPID STUPID STUPID!!! How could anyone NOT know that that air would be bad for you? I didnt go anywhere near NYcity after that happened, and it wasnt for fear of another attack. Geez….
Steel members were completely shredded and all non-metallic contents reduced to fine powder. If the explanation was that simple, wouldn’t NIST have effortlessly proved it with a simple computation involving potential energy?
“tons and tons”
But instead, that’s precisely the level of accuracy we get.
Steve Irwin was on a TV interview last week – The presenter asks Steve what his favourite Kids program was and he replied Thunderbirds but I’ll always have a place in my heart for stingray
More lies remembered.
The EPA distinctly and deliberately avoided telling the truth to the public and most importantly to the clean up workers.
How will they ever blame this on Clinton?
Speaking of Clinton – why does no one in the media EVER say that the first WTC bombing was one month into Clinton’s term and he didn’t blame GHW Bush.
AND that the perpetrators were caught, tried and sentenced.
AND finally- that the US was not attacked by terrorists for 7 years!!
We don’t even hear a footnote of the Millennium plot that was thwarted.
Should those amazing people who helped clean up Ground Zero have waited for some bogus EPA report to tell them it was alright to get this sh*t done?
Not to be a dick, but thank goodness the families of the fallen got paid so quickly, we’ll just deal with the crippled heros that cleaned up that phuckall later… like never.
Unbelievable. There’s a special level in hell for BushCorp.

It’s Clinton’s fault….
September 5th, 2006 at 2:12 pmI wonder if breathing sulfer and thermite residue caused the workers illnesses? Lots of bad stuff used to destroy those towers, not just jet fuel!

September 5th, 2006 at 3:04 pmseems pretty obvious that if one breathes atomized airborne skyscraper all day, one is bound to develop respiratory problems.
