ABC Refuses to Provide Copies of Path to 9/11 to Clinton, Albright, Berger

Path to 9/11 graphic ABC has been aggressively advancing its inaccurate and politically slanted miniseries, “The Path to 9/11,” to the right wing. Big players like Rush Limbaugh have been provided copies, as have obscure right-wing bloggers like Patterico.

But ABC has refused to provide a copy to President Clinton’s office. Former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright and former National Security Adviser Samuel Berger have also requested copies of the film from ABC, and both have been denied. Both Berger and Albright are harshly criticized in the film in scenes that, according to former counterterrorism czar Richard Clarke, are “180 degrees from what happened.”

Here is an excerpt from Albright’s letter:

While I have requested a copy of the broadcast, I have yet to receive one. I have been informed by some who had been given the right to view the broadcast that the drama depicts scenes that never happened, events that never took place, decisions that were never made and conversations that never occurred; it asserts as fact things that are not fact.

For example, one scene apparently portrays me as refusing to support a missile strike against bin Laden without first alerting the Pakistanis; it further asserts that I notified the Pakistanis of the strike over the objections of our military. Neither of these assertions is true. In fact, the 9/11 commission reports states (page 117), “Since the missiles headed for Afghanistan had had to cross Pakistan, the Vice Chairman of the Joint Chiefs was sent to meet with Pakistan’s army chief of staff to assure him the missiles were not coming from India. Officials in Washington speculated that one or another Pakistani official might have sent a warning to the Taliban or Bin Ladin.”

You can read the full text of Berger’s letter here and Albright’s letter here.

Write ABC and tell them to tell the truth about 9/11.

Digg It!

Everyone needs to call and write their local ABC affiliate and to let their sponsors know that we object to this crap.

Why would ABC want to provide everybody copies of their BS movie? They are clearly trying to appease the right-wing attack machine and could care less about accuracy or accountability.

Why didn’t Bush Sr. and Clinton go after Bin Laben? This man could have been dead years before 9/11 by either president. It is sad that neither man could grow a pair of nuts and kill that man.

  9. Go Back To Sleep America says:

Roger_Dodger why didn’t BushCo accept when the Taliban offered to hand over Bin Laden 1) after seeing proof and then 2) to an independant country for trial, even without any proof.

Why did BushCo then go on to dismantle the unit responsible for hunting down Bin Laden?

While you’re at it, perhaps you would like to answer why BushCo let a certain Learjet leave the USA, loaded with Bin Ladens just shortly after 9/11 when all other aircraft were grounded?

  10. Barbara says:

I forget all of the elements of the NYT standard, but I believe a public figure must prove that the publisher had actual knowledge that it was publishing a falsehood. This makes it very difficult for so-called public figures, such as Albright, to win libel cases. However, if what Albright says is really true, then the fact that she is a public figure might not be a real bar to a libel suit — she is putting ABC on notice, ahead of time, that it is about to publish a falsehood about a public figure that, incidentally, casts her in a very negative light. They will never be able to claim that they lacked actual knowledge. The fact that they won’t show her the tape is, perhaps, their idea of countering actual knowledge by sticking their head in the sand. Very interesting.

    Roger, nice try.

Bush I didn’t go after Osama because Osama was a CIA guy.

Clinton did try to go after Osama multiple times, despite being told this was treasonous or impeachable conduct by snakes like you.

Also, remember that flawlessly executed and planned ousting of the Taliban in 2001/2? That was the Clinton plan, which was drawn up after the bombing of the USS Cole in October 2000, because it appeared that Al Qaeda was behind the bombing, and which was given to Bush’s people upon the changing of administrations. Hard proof of Al Qaeda/Taliban involvement in the USS Cole bombing was attained sometime in early 2001. Despite this, Bush chose to do nothing. The blame for inaction on the USS Cole lies squarely with Bush, not Clinton.

Bush was preoccupied with missile defense, North Korea, Iraq, and pulling out of Kyoto, appearing to agree with the Republican critics of Clinton who called him obsessed with terrorism.

You people are wrong, you have short memories, and you are supporting great evil.

The 5th anniversary of 9/11/01 terrorist attack is less than 5 days away, on next Monday, so Bush and GOP are trying to lay the blame on former Pres. Clinton?

100% fault and blame falls on the Bush Regime for complete negligence in not preventing terrorist attack from taking place and represents Pres. Bush’s failure!

The destruction of the WTC towers, and the attack on the Pentagon, was/is a chilling reminder of government ineptitude and gross malfeasance by the Bush Regime!

Karl Rove has tried to paint the ineptitude as victory, to portray George W. Bush as some kind of hero, but that baloney is just fantasy foisted as vile propaganda!

George cowered in a grammer school classroom as the attack took place, and was frozen in a comatose stupor of inaction, as the WTC/Pentagon buildings burned!

VP Cheney was rushed to a bunker to protect him, as Pres. Bush was whisked away to unknown location, so their personal safety was more important to them???

That would be “masochistic” (no offense, just correcting). Their masters are sadistic, which explains the relationship between the neocon overlords (sadists) and the 33% of bootlickers that follow them (the 33%). Now it is perfectly clear: the adamant neocon supporters suffer from the “battered patriot syndrome”, where the country and constitution they love so dearly is repeatedly trampled and spit on by the overlords, and the masochistic supporters with BPS just keep coming back for more. It is a mental illness and needs to be treated.

  44. just a thought says:

And to actually post on topic, I think that the predistribution clearly states a specific agenda: in fact, it seems that they distributed the early releases to those who would tout the film: that aspect they can probably argue as a marketing strategy, and thus NOT giving pre-show copies to Clinton (et. al.) they can argue as not being in their marketing interests. I am pretty sure that that will be their defence on that one. They are not interested in facts, because their overlords are telling them to run it: accuracy of the content is not of any import or interest to them.

Back in a while (fair warning :) ).

Why didn’t Bush Sr. and Clinton go after Bin Laben? This man could have been dead years before 9/11 by either president. It is sad that neither man could grow a pair of nuts and kill that man.

I shouldn’t have to do this, but here goes. Look at the quote from Albright. She quotes the 9/11 Commission report: “Since the missiles headed for Afghanistan had had to cross Pakistan, the Vice Chairman of the Joint Chiefs was sent to meet with Pakistan’s army chief of staff to assure him the missiles were not coming from India. Officials in Washington speculated that one or another Pakistani official might have sent a warning to the Taliban or Bin Ladin.”

She’s talking about 40+ Tomahawk cruise missiles fired at a camp inside Afghanistan where bin Laden was known to be staying. The one problem with that, as Albright points out, is that they needed to let our ‘allies’ the Pakistanis know what was flying over their country on the way to take out bin Laden and where it was coming from. A Pakistani general later bragged about tipping off bin Laden. It seems the Pakistani military was not exactly on the same page as us in this whole anti-terrorism thing. Clinton tried to get cooperation from Pakistani intelligence to go in and catch bin Laden. From the WaPo:

” In 1999, the CIA secretly trained and equipped approximately 60 commandos from the Pakistani intelligence agency to enter Afghanistan for the purpose of capturing or killing Osama bin Laden, according to people familiar with the operation.

“The operation was arranged by then-Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and his chief of intelligence with the Clinton administration, which in turn promised to lift sanctions on Pakistan and provide an economic aid package. The plan was aborted later that year when Sharif was ousted in a military coup.

“The operation was aborted on Oct. 12, 1999, however, when Sharif was overthrown in a military coup led by Gen. Pervez Musharraf, who refused to continue the operation despite substantial efforts by the Clinton administration to revive it.” http://www.washingtonpost.com/ac2/wp-dyn?pagename=article&node=&contentId=A61219-2001Oct2

Our pal, Musharraf. Facts are a bitch, eh?

  46. Jay Randal says:

But like the president telling lies to get approval to invade Iraq, who, just tell me who would have thought a family oriented organization like Disney would be involved in a scheme like this.

It is up to the democrats to show their might. They should boycott any ABC show, Disney and the sponsors. And if I were one of the principals protrayed in the film and they showed absolute inaccuracies, I would sue their ass off. If enough did maybe the republican owned ABC/Disney wouldn’t be the republican owners anymore.

Bush and GOP must have assured ABC that any libel suits against them would be handled by their sleazy lawyers, GOP affiliated judges, and by the GOP controlled Congress!

I think you’re right. It’s interesting how this works. MoveOn had bought commercial time in several TV markets for their “Red-Handed” political ads about GOP candidates and corruption. All of the ads were legal, none of them libelous. But, some of the Republican-supporting TV affiliates refused to air them, because they claimed to have been threatened with lawsuits by the RNC.

So, the RNC can scare off TV stations from airing ads that are factual, but ABC is boldly putting up $30 million dollars of its own money to air a bunch of lying crap commercial-free. That’s a campaign contribution and someone should file suit to get an injunction against ABC airing that show at least until it gets a hearing.

Hey everyone, I just read all the ABC/Scholastic “study materials”, they are also severely flawed and slanted.

I think it warrants a massive LTE campaign. When editors get pounded with thousands of letters about something like this, they have a tendency to sit up and take notice. And, sometimes, if the wire services aren’t saying much about it, they’ll assign someone to look into it.

This is the 2006 equivalent of the Swift Boat Liars.

Interesting the cheerleaders-who-blame-everyone-else have as usual avoided observations such as my one at #37. So according to their logic, if the next president is a Democrat and America gets attacked during his time (oh I don’t know, let’s say by Al Qaeda) He would be perfectly right and justified to not take any responsibility for it, because George Bush let Bin Laden go at least twice and disbanded the people who should have found him. It would all be Bush’s fault.

Unless of course it’s one rule for neocons and another for everyone else, is what they’re trying to hide behind.

  93. Long John says:

Why didn’t Bush Sr. and Clinton go after Bin Laben? This man could have been dead years before 9/11 by either president. It is sad that neither man could grow a pair of nuts and kill that man.

As previous posts have pointed out, Clinton was very focussed on getting Bin Laden. When he asked for new legislaton to help his fight against Al Qaida, the Republicans refused to give him the tools he asked for. When he bombed Bin Laden’s camp, the repubs yelled “Wag the Dog!”

But he was successful in closing down something like 20 Al Qaeda cells. His administration did thwart the Millennium Plot (simultaneously to bomb LAX, Washington D.C. airport, and two middle east targets). Any honest “docudrama” would include all of these facts.

Last year I had the opportunity of asking a security advisor to the Clinton White House whether he thought we would have prevented 9/11 if Al Gore had been president. He thought there would have been a good possibility: that when Gore got any of the warnings ignored by GW, he would have set up a White House situation room to push for daily reports from all agencies tasked with dealing with the threat. We now know there was enough information out there to deal with the 9/11 plot: there was no direction from the top to bring it all together and act on it.

I’m pretty sure Clinton and Gore believe they could have saved us from the 9/11 attack. Politically, of course, they can’t tell us that.

I do hope that Clinton and Berger sue for libel. In the meantime, the reported falsehoods in this upcoming program should be newspaper headlines.

If they have nothing to hide, then why not provide them to the individual they intend to smear? After all, that would be the fair thing to do.

The fact is that if they did, they (the writer, producer,Disney, & ABC) would be sued before the fact rather than after the fact and it would never be aired.

I believe this film will totally backfire on the GOP – and will, contrarily, focus the microscope even stronger on 9/11 – and the actual truth of 9/11 in all of it splendor. I don’t really think the GOP wants this at all. Americans are so angry about the Iraq War and this administration already that all they need is more evidence of this administration’s fingerprints on a fake documentary aimed at twisting the real truth and people will be outraged.

Let’s face it….76% americans are fed up with the status quo and want change in November. If ABC airs this bunch of lies and finger pointing (since when do we blame a predecessor for our own woes???) the GOP will definitely implode and the people will take back control of the House and Senate this November…….I can’t wait!

Seriously, is this even legal? Could Clinton and Albright and Co. sue ABC for allowing these lies to be aired AND for essentially slandering them on TV like this? I highly doubt I could just make a movie protraying ANY politicians of being mentally retarded and implying that they furiously masterbate to Nazi propaganda…because it’s a lie and totally inappropriate to do so. Isn’t there laws protecting the unauthorized use of Clinton or other public officials without their consent? Clinton may be a different issue as he is supposedly shown through news footage and what not, but the others?

BUt for ABC to fund this movie, allow it to air without commericals or proper disclaimers, to sell it as fact and based on the 9/11 commission report, and then to block any left-winger from seeing it EVEN those it SMEARS through inaccurate representations. Clearly ABC is running strict and strong damage control. Their actions are those of a company who wants this to air first and have people question it later, if they ever do.

ABC is going to do everything they can to strong-arm this into people’s homes as FACT. They will do everything they can to block criticism from reaching the general public and that includes shutting out the very people who are mentioned in the movie. ABC wouldn’t want Clinton to denounce the movie or any one else and as long as they don’t get to see it, ABC can cast their complaints as being biased and partisan and without proper evidence.

Who knew ABC could be so unethical and corrupt? Between this and pushing this smear-campaing of a movie into high school to encourage future voters to be Republican…this is seriously disgusting and there should be investigations and lawsuits.

  109. just a thought says:

Obviously they want it to air first. They are not stupid people, and know that any lies will be refuted and battled — but once it airs, it will have done a measure of propoganda damage. Many who see it — particularly children, who are not inclined to question the truth value of such things — will accept all or most of it as being factual. Once the propoganda is disseminated to the audience it has done its work. Trying to do damahge control on propoganda is very difficult, as it places ideas in the mindset, and seeds subtle connections. The problem with deprogramming those affected by propoganda is similar to the problem of battling ‘terrorism’: the ideas have been placed, and if they are set in the mind, if the mind accepts the idea as truth, then it is difficult to alter that perception… even traumatic.

Therefore, they understand the issues they will face after it airs, and are ready and willing to face the consequences that they anticipate, but for their plan to work with this IT MUST AIR, and it must reach as many as possible. Seeding the children with the school program is the lowest form of propoganda, and it should be stopped at all costs.

It is my understanding that the film will run short due to the Ad-Free format.

“Originally slated for two three-hour time slots, the missing commercial time will now require short-news programs to fill the gap”. – Media Daily News

A possible solution to fill the missing time would be to obtain comments on the piece from those directly involved.

    Richard Clarke
    Madeleine Albright
    Samuel Berger
    Roger Cressey
    Bill Clinton

There is plenty of time to obtain some 1 minute on camera comments by these notables and many have already shown a willingness to comment.

you should be proud anyone in government would be as brave as to smuggle “copies” of documents they created in the first place out of the library of congress for the sole purpose of remembering accurately statements for a report that was to be submitted voluntarily. Considering the inconsistencies and the phenomenal national shame associated with Bush being unwilling to testify to the 911 commission (whom they fought tooth and nail to legally prohibit, and then prevent from establishing any meaningful dertermination by refusing to provide documents for) without his shotgun wielding surrogate “daddy”, and only under the conditions that they “NOT BE SWORN IN TO TELL THE TRUTH” (so much for being born again into the faith, production line christianity offers). Sandy Berger is a public servant and an admirable human being and united states citizen. The current administration and it’s supporters are racketeers and criminals. Michael: Thanks for your e-mail and follow up on the ABC Television Network broadcast of “The Path to 9/11.” this Sunday and Monday. We inquired as to the sourcing of the materials and the claims we are receiving that there is a political agenda. Here is ABC’s reply:

“The Path to 9/11 is a dramatization, not a documentary, drawn from a variety of sources, including the 9/11 Commission Report, other published materials and from personal interviews. The events that lead to 9/11 originally sparked great debate, so it’s not surprising that a movie surrounding those events has revived the debate. The attacks were a pivotal moment in our history that should never be forgotten and it’s fitting that the discussion continues.”

I have been told by ABC that the following disclaimer will air throughout the movie:

“The following movie is a dramatization that is drawn from a variety of sources including the 9/11 Commission Report and other published materials, and from personal interviews. The movie is not a documentary. For dramatic and narrative purposes, the movie contains fictionalized scenes, composite and representative characters and dialogue, as well as time compression.”

I do understand your concern and do not believe there is any political agenda from the ABC Television Network. And I believe this is a good opportunity to discuss the controversy.

We are putting together a panel to view the docudrama and then be part of a group to discuss and comments on their opinions as part of a news story to be broadcast in our late news on Monday evening.

To that end, we are asking participants to watch the docudrama at home on Sunday evening, then join us at RTV6 to watch the final evening then participate in the discussion.

As far as out and out corruption at the highest levels, all one has to do is look at (legitimate) U.S. History, and look at the Rise (and fall) of the Third Reich. U.S. history reflects that the wealthy cattlemen, railmen, and industrialists (and later, oilmen) moved steadily westward stealing land in huge swaths and killing the native peoples for their personal gain. This is the same as what’s happening in Iraq. Look at the facts; a wealthy bunch of Republicans destroys a country so they can rebuild it? Translation; we’ll go in, blow the s*it out of them and take over. We’ll get the oil, the land, and the construction no-bid contracts. Hell, we can even steal pallets full of cash while we’re there, what could be sweeter?
It’s the same formula the evil, wealthy elite have always followed. Find a poor people/nation, and rape them completely (just make sure they have brown skin).
As far as the Third Reich, Cheney is basically following Hitler’s rise to power. I say Cheney, because he is the brains behind this whole debacle known as the Bush presidency. Bush is only a “good ol boy” figurehead, and he’s not even doing that well. At any rate, do a little research and you’ll see how this administration tells huge lies using the media, and keeps hammering them home as if they are gospel. (Hitler said, “If you tell a big enough lie often enough, they will believe it.”) Look how the NSA(SS) are spying on the American people, and how this was sneakily implemented well before 911, which is the reason this administration is giving for this illegal snooping. Look at how Haliburton, Betchel, The Carlyle Group, Exxon-Mobile, etc, seamlessly and secretly blend with the current administration. Is that not the exact definition of Facism?

The only true, free media now is the internet; why do you thing the NSA is monitoring every transmission? They want to nip any rabble-rousers in the bud. If there’s a person or group seriously gaining momentum in achieving a large anti-bush, anti gov’t, or at least anti-present administration following, they will take steps to quash this individual or movement. Their next move is to strictly limit internet access and create new laws governing internet usage to be able to “legally”penalize those who “break” these new “laws”, which they are in the not so early phases of now…

  145. Democrats Protest Inaccuracies in “The Path to 9/11″ - Liberal Values - Defending Liberty and Enlightened Thought says:

[...] The Path to 9/11 continues to generate considerable controversy, with those who have seen portions finding multiple factual errors. Think Progress reports that while right wing pundits and bloggers have received advanced copies, Clinton Administration officials, who are falsely accused of actions which increased the risk of the 9/11 attacks, have been denied the ability to view the entire miniseries. The portions which they are aware of have been found to be highly inaccurate. Richard Clarke states “It’s 180 degrees from what happened. So, yeah, I think you would have to describe that as deeply flawed.” They quote a letter from Madeline Albright which states “the drama depicts scenes that never happened, events that never took place, decisions that were never made and conversations that never occurred; it asserts as fact things that are not fact.” UPI reports that Sandy Berger calls the scenes involving him “complete fabrications.” Crooks and Liars has a transcript and video of an interview with former Bush counterterrorism official, Roger Cressey who states “it’s sheer fantasy.” [...]

    Comment by Michael Shermis — September 6, 2006 @ 5:13 pm

Tough call. But seeing as how your local station is convinced that ABC does not have a political agenda, I’d contact them again (via phone, if possible) and let them know that advance copies of the movie were provided to rightwing sources, yet reportedly no one from the “left” has been able to get a copy for review, nor have members of the Clinton administration, including Bill himself.

I’d also remind Mr. Lundy that ABC has now changed their story on the source(s) of this movie. As you can see from a more recent post here on TP, ABC is now telling Fox News that the movie is based “solely and completely” on the commission’s report.

So, Bruce, while you might enjoy being a pathetic hypocrite, the rest of us normal people think you should just shut up already. So, unless you’re willing to face facts and engage in a bit of intellectual honesty, buh-bye yourself.

ABC has no obligation to share it with anyone before it airs. Since, they had to know that it was going to cause the “left” to get upset, they should have not previewed it to the “right”, but it is there right.

Besides that, the facts are that Reagan, Bush 1 and Clinton all missed opportunities to end this rush to terrorism before it started. Carter helped set the seeds with his weakness in foreign policy – giving stuff away and caving to make foreign leaders happy does not necessarily make for good policy.

The real first signs, according to public record, began under Reagan and continued to grow until 9/11. This means that it was most evident during Clinton, who’s administration has admitted to at waiving off at least three chances to capture Osma. Do we know every detail of the conversations that lead the Clinton team to making their decisions? No, of course not, but that is why this is a movie based on real events, not a true to life documentary. Learn the difference, people, and stop complaining just because it is happening to your side this time.

  166. Zach Van Draden says:

The fact that ABC Televison Network Inc., has decided to run “The Path to 9/11,” should be NO surprise, afterall ABC Inc., is a capitalist entity with an obligation to it’s share holder’s first and foremost. If, they have determined that showing “The Path to 9/11″ will favor their stock per share prices, then they have to run the movie as good corporate officer’s. Money knows NO ethics, and apparently those exec’s overseeing it have none either.
That said, I personally disagree with the decision to run such a controversial and right leaning movie on “Free TV.” Afterall, the products used to “sponsor” the showing this “political statement,” are the same one’s that I use, my mother & father use, and countless other friend’s and family member’s use these product’s, and they to are against the showing of “ANY” movie that is so “out of balance, like “The Path to 9/11″ being broadcast on “FREE TV.”
I am NOW boycotting the Dallas-Fort Worth ABC affiliate, WFAA television channel 8, and may from now on if, “The Path to 9/11″ is aired without a rebuttal opportunity to be shown within one week of the time that “The Path to 9/11,” is being aired, and must be shown in the same time-slot. Perhaps, ABC & Channel 8 exec’s need a few dissatisfied viewer’s knocking on the doors of their personal residence’s to express their indignity one on one!Never have I been this upset over the airing of anything that has come previous to this on FREE TV, although breaking in on the NFL football game with Heidi is a close second.

Now comes the big question. Whose money is financing this piece of propaganda called the Path to 911? Scaife perhaps?

I sent emails to Scholastic and ABC. I told ABC that I would never watch their programs nor would I ever buy anything Disney ever again unless they cleaned up the 911 docu-fluff. Considering that Disneys’ stuffed animals are made in China sweatshops I don’t buy it anyway.

Regardless of any of the reassuring bullshit we may be subjected to, we cannot forget that advanced copies were given to the likes of Rush Limbaugh and Patterico. Furthermore, copies were denied to the likes of Madeleine Albright and Samuel Berger (tastefully portrayed by the pasty whiteness of Kevin Dunn). In the one touted scene from the docu-trauma, Clinton and Berger choose not to authorize the killing of Bin Laden, and the CIA fella responds in a predictable Team America fashion. Not only is this 100% FABRICATED, but in fact Bin Laden had been convicted in absentia by the United States in 1998, and there was presidential authorization for his demise should he be found (link to follow). More troubling is the fact that Scholastic (yes, remember them from grade school? The crappy book catalogues with nothing interesting to read?) has teamed up with the producers of the film to use it as a teaching tool. I’m sorry to sound conspiratorial on you (although you could call me worse things) but I think the intention here is to forever tarnish the younger generation’s understanding of the events. It is amazing that the country has survived as long as it has with idiots like those I have read here.
    You blame Republicans for everything!

Democrats taking the majority of the House and Senate will DOOM this counrty to being the next FRANCE. France, in case you haven’t heard, has nearly lost it’s country to ISLAMIC immigrants.

Democrats will not protect this country because: it is too difficult, it’s easier to covert to Islam, they only fight Republicans and 3/4 of the 911 hijackers were registered DEMOCRATS.

    ISLAM means SURRENDER,
so, apparently does D-E_M-O-C-R-A-T in this country.

You “proggressives” (what a crock of sh*t) think Clinton was a good president and don’t care (if you don’t KNOW, you have blinders on or are just BLIND) that Clinton is responsible for our high gas prices.
Why? You might ask (unless you have your bliners on or have covered your eyes).
Because Clinton gave our DEFENSE TECHNOLOGY to China (even the New York Times printed banner front page headlines to that effect for FOUR DAYS (until Clinton had NATO forces assemble with U.S. forces to start bombimg Yugoslavia) and now China has moved 30 years forward in technology and needs that much more energy. Thanks, Bill, NOT!
And hwo do Democrats blame? BUSH and Republicans, of course!

Oh, one of the totally “half-a-brain” (Democrat half, that is ) people here implied that a news show made a mistake by having Ann Coulter on a serious news program. I guess what makes Coulter bitch is LAW BREAKERS, not “necessarily” Democrats (unless “law breaker” and Democrat mean the same thing). Hummm? Maybe I am on to something here? Anyhow, since Coulter has more intelligence and education than likely anybody here (including me)…I will mention that she has a degree in CONSTITUTIONAL LAW. That is why she has been on serious news regarding Constitutional law, since Clinton started breaking them!

I might not agree with Republicans and/or Bush a lot, but the Democrats scare the sh*t out of me in caring about the country’s ( and my children and their children’s) future. If they get power again this country is DOOMED.

Not that this makes any difference to anyone here…I just had to say something or I would feel guilty for not, at least, trying to get someone to CHECK THE FACTS before defending the indefencesable.

I am writing at the bottom of this blog and I am chilled! I know how the republicans are going to take back their esteem! Bush a month or so ago, dismantled the money for the search for Usma Bin laden! Today I saw the government suddenly wants to go after UBL, and the terroists in Iraq. Bush said last week Iraq had nothing to do with the 911 attacks. The plan is now to go after UBL, and tie it all together after the fact. Bush says 911 and Iraq are not tied but because of the terroist rising that is happing in Iraq now they can simply say we now have a connection. WE WERE THE CAUSE OF THE CONNECTION! The government will go after UBL. Take him out , fictionally and be the heros of America and the world. Two years ago Bush said I don’t care about UBL, I don’t spend time thinking about him. The election is comming and this is the stratigy. GET BIN LADEN! How smart but how stupid. I believe they will say he is dead but he really is not!

  178. Kevin says:

I have not seen this movie yet, like everybody else who is either dissing it or praising it. If it contains non factual material I think ABC would be foolish not to edit those parts out. Lets be honest people, BOTH the Clinton administration AND the Bush administration made mistakes regarding Islamic terrorism ( as did Bush 1, Reagan and especially Carter ) The main thing to take away from this movie is not “who to blame”, but rather what we must learn from the past. And if the past teaches us anything, it is that we have a real problem with Islamic Radicals. If you do not believe me, ask the families of the dead from: The Marine barracks bombing in Lebanon, the uncountable hijackings of airliners in the 80s, the 1st World Trade Center bombing, the 1993 attacks on US Soldiers in Mogadishu, the 1998 US Embassy bombings, the 2000 USS Cole bombing and of course 911 just to name a few.

Praises to ABC for not bowing to the ex-politicals as well as those still in office.

We all know that our government didn’t fully comprehend our enemy and made poor decisions based on political reasons rather then what was the right thing to do.

I believe most of what was portrayed on “The Path to 911″. Here’s why, because Clinton & most of his staff & administration were and still are the most dishonest group to ever run the White House & this country. He should have been taking care of the business of this country instead of covering up taking advantage of a young vulnerable starryeyed girl. Why can’t we just focus on who is really to blame? Bin Laden! Why is everyone so quick to blame President Bush for every little thing that goes wrong just because you don’t like him? If you fell and broke your leg in the next few minutes, I guess that would be Bush’s fault too, huh? We as a country are all to blame. President Bush is not to balme for every little thing that went wrong. He did not tell the airlines workers to over ride an alert and let a potentially dangerous person on a flight just because it was too much trouble for them to follow procedure. Or what about letting someone through security without a photo id? We all got a wake up call 5 years ago.
Sadly, it takes a tradgedy to do that. If we get alerts, we just think they must be false or would never happen to us. Now time has gone by and some of us are starting to put our guard down again. Let’s stop fighting among ourselves and start paying attention to what is going on around us so we can prevent another 911. In 5 years nothing new has happened on this soil and plots have been stopped. Who do you think we should thank for that?

[...] In case you passed out on the couch for 4 hours after work like I did, then maybe you haven’t seen it yet. It’s a FULL transcript of Chris Wallace’s interview with President Clinton. Clinton lays the smackdown on Wallace when he tries to ask questions based on the misinformation spread by Path to 9/11. [...]

  203. Raymond says:

You know! It’s absolutely amazing that when mini-series that praise Left-Wing causes, Liberals fall over themselves, Praising Themselves. But, when something like “Path To 9/11″ comes along—attacking the decisions of both Democratic & Republican Presidential Administrations, “Well, we can’t permit that to be Aired!” “Path To 9/11″ show the indecisions & mistakes that BOTH Political Sides made. TRUTH HURTS DOESN’T IT! Start Doing Your Frickin’ Jobs OR GET OUT OF OFFICE!

  204. Judith says:

The left prides itself on it’s tireless quest for tolerance………… yet I have heard the most hatefilled, violent, nasty commentary from those same ‘tolerant ones’ hmmmm Something else I find perplexing is the violent nature of the “peace demonstrations” I didn’t know looting and destruction of property was part of the peace process. But then I shouldn’t be surprised when that same group will burn down a subdivision of homes to save a toad or a garter snake. The Path to 9/11? Methinks thou doth protest to much. All that vitriole from our friends on the left speaks volumes. One can almost smell the fear. Their secret is out!

  205. Matt says:

Any Democrat has zero credibility in bashing this movie unless they also bash Farenheit 9/11 for all the same reasons. Otherwise, you’re guilty of something called “bias”. It also helps to actually see the footage before launching into a full-scale attack. Thank God you guys don’t run the country right now with that kind of gun jumping.

  206. Scarlett says:

I say HURRAY for ABC. Open your eyes people. This is the first time the fact that Clinton had Bin Laden in his sights and let him go has surfaced. What will it take for you guys to accept the truth?
