Fox News is running a puff piece promoting ABC’s docudrama Path to 9/11.
Former 9/11 Commission Co-Chair Tom Kean — a paid advisor to the film — has been defending its many inaccuracies by saying the film uses fictionalized composites and is based on many sources besides the 9/11 report.
But that’s not what ABC is telling Fox. In a segment this afternoon, Fox reported it was told by ABC producers that the film was “based solely and completely on the 9/11 Commission Report.” Watch it:
In fact many scenes from the movie are directly contradicted by the 9/11 Commission report.
Write ABC and tell them to tell the truth about 9/11.
Transcript:
FOX REPORTER: It’s called “The Path to 9/11″ and it’s scheduled to air on ABC Sunday and Monday Night without commercial interruption. In the cross hairs are bureaucrats in the Clinton Administration.
[Clip from film]
KEAN: Only by understanding the story of 9/11 will we be able to make the changes, both in Washington in our cities, towns and states — we have to make sure this doesn’t happen again.
FOX REPORTER: Its producers say it is based solely and completely on the 9/11 Commission Report as it follows the footsteps of F.B.I. agent John O’Neal.
Now this is pure unadulterated horses—, folks! ABC still doesn’t get it – maybe they will when they are slapped with lawsuits? Maybe the boycott planned will get their attention? They can align themselves with FAUX NEWS because that’s precisely what they’ve become….FAUX TV. It won’t matter what programming they offer – they’ll be finished with the american people once this is aired and proven to be nonsense, drivel, slander, and hyperbole. Adios, ABC!
September 6th, 2006 at 7:03 pmWell, that confirms it. It’s officially propaganda now.
September 6th, 2006 at 7:03 pmWhen in the history of network television has one network supported the work of another network.
If you said never ever, you are right.
Now that the official propaganda wing of the GOP has backed the newly created office of misinformation, you know this whole thing was paid for by the GOP.
September 6th, 2006 at 7:03 pmABC’s “docu-drama” appears to be based soley and completely Bush’s alcohol soaked, coke enabled memory.
September 6th, 2006 at 7:04 pmForget about “telling ABC” anything — they’re loving the buzz.
Go after the advertisers. Grass roots, all-out, take-no-prisoners — we will boycott anyone who advertises during this piece of shit.
Money talks; bullshit walks.

September 6th, 2006 at 7:19 pmLet’s see, we have been living under the policies of Rethuglican choosing for 5 years now. We have been living in a country has ReichWingNuts would make it.
Are we fearful enough yet? Or are they still hateful and insecure enough to blame their own failings on Bill Clinton? The only things WingNuts have is fear, lying, greed, and the love of control.
It’s rough to see their sad sorted lying sacks of shit splattered all over the public airwaves. They really need to get a grip on reality, wake up, and rejoin the human race.
In the meantime, boycott ABC and ALL their advertisers.
September 6th, 2006 at 7:19 pmHmmm. Actually, if you check the history books, Bush himself waved the white flag to the terrorists way back in 1/01 or 2/01, when soon after stealing the 2000 Presidential Election, he ordered the FBI and the CIA to stop any further investigations of any possible Saudi-terror links. And how many of the original nineteen nine eleven terrorists were of Saudi origin, Mr. Bush? Sixteen. So 16/19 = 84%. So one could figure that Bush was about 84% responsible for allowing the hijackings to occur. Traitors Cheney and Rumsfeld could take up the remaining 16% of the responsibility with their GO SLOW ORDERS for the FAA and NORAD on that day of infamy.
September 6th, 2006 at 7:22 pmCheers.

September 6th, 2006 at 7:31 pmKarl Rove thought about that. The show will be comercial free. No reprocussions for companies that sponsor this farse, so you just got to boycott all ABC sponsors.

September 6th, 2006 at 7:39 pmI’ve no problem with boycotting ABC, Disney, and Scholastic and all of ABC’s advertisers, but I have a bigger question about this piece: Just WHO is paying for this if there are no commercials? Where’s the money coming from?

I’ll let you sort out the difference between your oxymoron and your non sequitur since we are to leave the thinking to adults we don’t have to worry about you getting involved.

here’s a slogan to whack the walt disney corporation with:
“walt disney corp -
the american company that sold out the nation,
so it could sell out a movie.”
back story:
1.the walt disney corporation owns abc television.
2. walt disney has made one movie and plans to make several more movies based on c.s. lewis’ set of novels called collectively, “the chronicles of narnia” (novel #1 = “the lion, the witch , and the wardrobe”, plus six others).
3. walt disney wants this set of movies to sell well far into the future and worldwide. (”the lion, the witch. and the wardrobe” was released in late 2005.)
disney expects right wing christians to be big consumers and promoters of the film.
the disney corporation expects that right wing media personalities (rush limbaugh, bill o’reilly, et al.) will help it market the movies based on “the narnia chronicles” in return for disney corp’s having had abc television show “the road to 9/11″.
4. the director of the disputed film “the path to 9/11″ which abc television plans to air on sept 10,11 is a right wing christian movie maker.
the screen writer is a right wing word smith.
“the walt disney corporation -
the american company that sold out the nation so it could sell out a movie.”
(digby at “hullabaloo” outlines the disney, abc, “path to 9/11″ relationships.)

Ease up Girl (My assumption and apology if needed) because stupid is forever and the Reichwingnuts will be history in November. Maybe we can take a page out of their book and rewrite history so they are not in our book. Their “facts”, contrary to most facts, do have an expiration date: 01/20/2007; and again, if necesary for the few imposters left standing, 01/20/2008.
Stupid is Forever. Long live the Reichwingnuts!
September 6th, 2006 at 8:19 pmConsidering that the 9/11 commission report is also propaganda — just look at the makeup of the committee — It’s going to be a propaganda piece whether they diverge from the official story of what happened that day.
September 6th, 2006 at 8:20 pmThis country since 2000 under the GOP has deteriorated into a sordid state of affairs where virtually all politicians, pundits, and the worthless and supplicant MSM follow the money to push and propogate unalterated bullshit and false realities.
When the standard of living for a significant percentage of middle class Americans ( many who are completely clueless ) degenerates over the next few years things could get ugly in America.
September 6th, 2006 at 8:26 pmSeems ABC has been CAUGHT in yet another LIE.
Some of their promos and reps claim otherwise, on the use of sources.

September 6th, 2006 at 8:32 pmGee, since when had Roger Ailes become chairman of ABC News?
So we’ve got Fox 24-Hour Comedy Channel claiming to bring you news, and another infotainment corporate apparat using it to push propaganda about its latest dreku-drama…
Welcome to the United States of Happy Familes, folks!

September 6th, 2006 at 8:41 pm#33 km4
You are absolutely right in predicting some form of uprising. Hopefully, it will not reflect the previous instances in recent history where the rioting was restricted to small geographic areas and was not directed at any given entity. The Watts riots come to mind where the destruction was across the board in a limited geographical area, and not individually directed to a particular business type. I suspect that if the Democrats are unsuccessful in November and/or in 2008 there will be a decided civil war along economic lines, which equates, roughly, to employees versus Corporations: lower and middle class against the monied elite. The Corporations have pushed the “Corporate Shield” to the point that there is no identifiable personage to accept the responsibility or blame, never mind any praise except that that is filtered through Wall Street. The American people have historically been laid back and submissive until the point of no return has been passed then “Katy Bar the Door.” There will be a revolution, the extent of the “damage” will depend on which side you are on. The true American People and true American Dream will prevail, if noting more than by sheer numbers. An honest election in November would help a lot in keeping the transition as bloodless as possible. Or at least limiting the blood loss to the “bad guys.”
September 6th, 2006 at 8:46 pmABC didn’t have Jamie Gorelick on the job, making certain that no one said anything untoward about the Clinton administration and doing everything in her power to cover the abject failure of her boss to challenge terrorists for their decade long trail of American murders. In other words, the 911 commission was far more concerned about the sensibilities of the Clintonistas, than telling the truth. Quite unusual for the main stream media to present facts detrimental to their fearless leader, but accidents do happen.
September 6th, 2006 at 8:46 pmRobert A. Iger
President and CEO, The Walt Disney Company
Dear Mr. Iger:
It has come to my attention that ABC plans to air a two-part mini-series called “The Path to 9/11″ on September 10 and September 11. Accounts of advance screenings from our paranoid cohorts at other liberal blogs indicate that this program places primary responsibility for the attacks of 9/11 on the Clinton administration while whitewashing the failures of the Bush administration. This assertion doesn’t square with liberal history revisionists and our efforts to place the blame squarely on Bushco. This partisan misrepresentation of history is not surprising given that the movie was written by Cyrus Nowrasteh, an avowed conservative. We prefer you use only left-wing political hacks, like Richard Clarke, Sandy Berger and Maddy Halfbright who desperately want to save their already sinking credibilty.
It is wrong for ABC to play politics with the facts of 9/11 by providing a national platform to present his distorted view of history. This right is solely reservered for the liberal elites in the blogoshpere. I am unwilling to lie the truth and you should, too. The events that led to 9/11 are important topics for discussion and debate. But it’s a debate that must be conducted deceptively under our guidelines.
I am asking ABC to either fix the many inaccuracies contained in the program – or to not air it – or we will write hateful emails that smear you and your families.
I would appreciate a prompt reply to my e-mail.
There, that sounds more like a fascist, anit-free press, intolerant TP liberal.
September 6th, 2006 at 8:48 pmSure as he read “The Stranger”, Bushy never read the Aug. 2001 PDB – if he had, he certainly wouldn’t have continued reading “My Pet Goat” after the second plane had hit. Don’t forget that Tenet said it was Bin Laden immediately after hearing about the first plane.
Idiocracy!
September 6th, 2006 at 8:53 pmthanks for the empathy, guys… no apology needed, clyde…
i took a short walk-around to calm down…
sometimes i think i should turn off the AAR and the internets and i’d be much happier, but i just can’t not know what is going on… not knowing doesn’t change the facts, and the facts are getting more and more absurb…
i could never sleep in a moving car either… gotta know what’s going on…
just hope i’m strong enough to keep from going back to drinkin’an’smokin’… :-]

This is what I want to know. I can’t believe with all the blog sleuths this hasn’t been answered (or maybe it has and I haven’t heard). I also want to know if Bush and his disciples were provided an advanced copy.

Tow the line sheep, tow the line. You better believe this ABC 9/11 docu-drama and the official 9/11 report. Do not question the government. They do not lie.
Now according to the government if you engage in thinking about, or proliferating, alternative “conspiracy theories” about 9/11 then you are in fact not only a terrorist, but a recruiter of terrorists!
“Today, Karl Rove and the U.S. administration is trying to paint 9/11 truthers as aiders and abettors of terrorism. For example, the White House states on its website:
“[terrorism springs from] subcultures of conspiracy and misinformation . . . . terrorists recruit more effectively from populations whose information about the world is contaminated by falsehoods and corrupted by conspiracy theories. The distortions keep alive grievances and filter out facts that would challenge popular prejudices and self-serving propaganda.”

September 6th, 2006 at 9:20 pmABC producers: “The film was based solely and completely on the 9/11 Commission Report. Except the parts that aren’t.”
September 6th, 2006 at 9:24 pmWent to the Disney corporate website hoping to find a way to email members of the Disney board to protest the phony 9-11 miniseries. I found that George Mitchell, the former Democratic Senator from Maine who served as Majority Leader, now is the chair of the Disney board. Shouldn’t he be forcing some accountability and responsibility from the Iger and the ABC execs? Senator Mitchell generally is acknowledged as a man of integrity and courage, so it’s time he stepped up here. There is the moral issue of misrepresenting what actually occurred in the run-up to 9-11. There are numerous political issues, such as Mitchell’s company refusing to provide the film to President Clinton, while providing it to a range of right-wing bloggers…..and the airing of this film shortly before the 2006 elections. And finally Mitchell has a fiduciary responsibility here…..sounds like Disney will take a financial bath on the project and will be subject to boycotts, advertiser attacks from left, etc. Can Think Progress get us an email for Senator Mitchell at Disney?
September 6th, 2006 at 9:24 pmABC is making a last ditch effort to save the ass of the GOP this coming November and who the hell knows why they are trying to save such lowlifes. The media has become propaganda whores for Bush administration just like in Nazi Germany.

You can also contact the FCC at fccinfo@fcc.gov and ask them to put your letter of complaint in regard to an ABC affiliate in their FCC License Public Communication File. I copied an ABC media person since I couldn’t find a direct email address to Mr. Iger. Then I wrote a letter to the general manager at my affiliate paraphrasing what I said. (I couldn’t come up with an email address for him either). It took a while, but I feel better for doing it. Dailykos has a list of contacts in its recommended diary section.
September 6th, 2006 at 9:54 pmI wish someone would burn the Disney Flag in public at every new Disney movie, public event, or theme park (Hopefully in front of new cameras). Disney is anti-family and anti-American. Their little blue flag is charcoal.

The only thing I can think of is they believe that only a minority of us actually research this type of affront. Which, if I’m honest with myself, is really true.
They are playing to the sheeple and the fight to get the whole story out is similar to pushing a chain up hill.

The Congress of the United States has reconvened in Washington, D.C., but don’t expect Congress to legislate on behalf of the American people.
The Republican Party will spend the next 30 days trying to make you afraid. It is the Republican midterm election strategy.
For the rest of September, until the moment Republican leaders gavel the Congress into adjournment, Republican speakers will rise and implore the American people to be afraid.
Republicans will call it security, and every time they do, just remember they are speaking in code. Republicans really mean insecurity.

September 6th, 2006 at 10:40 pmanother point, though, clyde, and all… i don’t think we should be TOO confident about getting back our government this november…
one of sam’s guests tonight was Robert Lanham, author of “The Sinner’s Guide to the Evangelical Right”… and one of the stories mr.lanham told was about the big voter registration drive that the religious right is working on, while the left is not pushing that as we should…
those people are so concerned about staying in power that they will vote in droves, again… for their selfish “issues”, of course…
i’m glad that the “3rd party” chatter has died down some, that most understand the importance of an OVERWHELMING DEMOCRATIC VOTER TURNOUT for this election, but i won’t relax or stop worrying till the results are in and democracy returns…
on nov.3,’04 i drove to my appointment with a neurologist and heard the awful news that kerry had conceded to bush… and then i found out that the symptoms i’d been experiencing were NOT multiple sclerosis… i could not make myself feel happy about my good fortune… the sense of dread was just too much… now, while my symptoms have cleared up, the country has declined into such a state as i never thought possible… i’m no martyr, but i think i would have traded those outcomes in a second…

Why do you find it necessary to completely misrepresent the views of liberals? I guess it would be hard for you to have such contempt for liberals if you acknowledged that their goals are as simple and reasonable as wanting the media to report accurately on important events such as 9/11.
And do you know what fascism actually is?

September 6th, 2006 at 11:23 pmHistory should not be rewritten to please the political party that holds power, this is the first step towards an Orwellian world. I am very disappointed that the Disney Company, a unique American company would give up it’s truly American values to support a partisan lie. The effect on the Disney brand could be devastating. As a stock holder I implore you to reconsider airing this partisan lie.
This was my letter to ABC, We really don’t need a list of advertisers ( although they should be pressured with boycots as well) when we have the big daddy of them all. The Disney Brand. Whatever ABC does, so does Disney.

Yep. All that venting and complaining…down the drain. *Sigh*
I’ve been caught by the spam filter a few times this past week, too. I sent a note to TP telling them I’m not spamming, but I received no reply. Maybe they are too busy with other aspects of the site; with the work they’ve done on this ignorant “Path to 9/11″ crap, I forgive them.

September 6th, 2006 at 11:35 pmAs people may remember, Sanjay was here the other day talking about Allah and Yahweh..well well, we also know that the Arabs and the Jews at one time both knew the same God.
The Jews and the Arabs at one time worshipped the same god. “This void [Abyss, Genesis] was known as Elemi, a name which is said to be incommunicable. It was the equivalent of El [thoht also Ai] , continued in the Draconian Cults as El Shaddai or Al Shaitan, the stellar deity worshipped by the Arabs and the Jews and by the earliest settlers in Sumer (in Sumeria the god El is also known as Ia) Alemi or Alhim became the Elohim of biblical lore. These gods or cosmic powers poured through the Veil of the Ain-
Now would you people stop that sh*t over in the middle east and put down your weapons and bring mankind into a new era?
Can you get over your name of god [who has no name] long enough to stop the violence and the wars? Can you find your way back from the Hell your words and beliefs have caused you?

September 6th, 2006 at 11:37 pm#67 is right. Politics aside, dramatizing 9-11 = jumping the shark.
I would never watch this show… even if it were a completely accurate portrayal of what happened. Television is supposed to be for entertainment, for christ’s sake.
I think TRT911 will end up on the same miniseries trash heap with “Amerika”, “V” and every other over-hyped p.o.s. miniseries the networks have tried to spoon feed us.

Hi Juan. I’ve just been popping in and out. It’s pretty quiet tonight. Are you in a better mood today?
September 7th, 2006 at 12:07 amIt is wrong to characterize Clinton as completely successful.
September 7th, 2006 at 12:09 amWhat the 9/11 Commission proved, more than anything, was that the events that led to 9/11 happened because of a total break-down of the federal government’s ability to fight terrorism.
Clinton is to be blamed (though he did at least recognize the threat), as is the CIA, the FBI, Congress, and especially George W. Bush’s administration, for dropping the ball when we had a chance to stop this.
Are you in a better mood today?

Oh, yeah. A lot. I was pretty mad yesterday. Awful day and the trolls were rampant. Its futile. For example, I didnt know Exley was so stupid. In order to defend his views he doesnt doubt to justify people being murdered. And we beat 13-0 in soccer last night. Pretty tough! (Yeah.)
September 7th, 2006 at 12:16 amI just got back from watching a movie: En el hoyo (In the hole), a documentary about construction workers (here in Mexico, one of the poorest people) building a second-level highway in Mexico City. Really great movie. I would recommend it, above all, to Jason.

MMmmm. Its romantic in an Adams Family kind of way. Full moons are great. Lycanthropes roaming the night. Hey, what about the War on werewolves? Imagine this:
September 7th, 2006 at 12:26 amFox News – Reports indicate an increasing level on lycanthropes enriching their uranium, although there is no solid proof about it.
Condi Rice: Probably the sign, the smoking gun, will come as a nuclear lycanthropic mushroom.
Bush: Since 9/11…
Rumsfeld: Either we bomb the lycanthropes there or destroy the moon.
I had nothing to post. I guess you got that.
September 7th, 2006 at 12:28 amWheres true?
Zeitgeist from Calgary this evening:
1. Warm evening, people out enjoying Stephen Avenue
September 7th, 2006 at 12:29 am2. Role of Canada in Afghanistan under debate – the sense of what they are doing there seems clear to them at least. Canadians don’t run – they remember when they voted against France and UK in 1956
3. Pictures of Canadian soldiers coming home in coffins on front page of newspapers
4. Other headlines: “Bush says Canada breeds terrorists”
argh! they’re showing this here in australia also!
it’s being advertised thusly:
“why didn’t they catch bin laden before september 11? watch the true story of how 9/11 was allowed to happen!”
i’m lodging a complaint with the appropriate authorities here, have already called the station — they stated that a disclaimer will appear during the showing, but my complaint was that the advertising and website make no such effort. the woman i spoke to even said, “this program is based on the 9/11 commission report.” she further claimed that the presence of big name stars would be enough for people to realize that it was only “dramatized entertainment”.
and of course i said, “sorry, lady, but that just ain’t true, and it is wildly irresponsible to air a program about such a sensitive subject and call it entertainment.”
these people have no shame.
September 7th, 2006 at 12:29 amThat’s great, Juan!

well it is a little weird here because the woman obviously didn’t understand the political subtext. i explained to her that the writer and producer were partisan republicans and that it did happen to be 2 months before an election…
but really, as i thought about it, it was even more appalling that they would willingly portray this as “entertainment”, given the subject matter. and clearly they are violating broadcasting regulations here.
well, i guess i have to write a formal complaint…

It was widely known that the Court would vote in favor of Calderon. Hell, we knew that a year ago. So, things will go as now: uncertainty.
Folks, I posted a note on one of the TPT9/11 blog threads on ABC’s site. Near the bottom I found the posting copied below. I feel (and fear) that this person is representative of the target audience of this movie; if this guy is sincere, then he hasn’t been paying attention to anything for the last 5 1/2 years; He reminds me of someone who has emerged from his own little world and declared, “So…what did I miss?”
Thank the education gods that Scholastic pulled out of this.

Im really dont know. The technical details I dont know them. I will do research. However, the Court decided that there were irregularities, the greatest of them all, was the intromission of the President, Fox, supporting continously Calderon´s campaign or this established system (neoliberal) concretely. However, they said, there were not that BIG enough (whatever that means) to nulify the whole election. (THe Court is part of the old system, they are all crooks…you will find in my words a great tendency towards anarchism. Governments work for companies, not for people)
And the convention will decide what will be the course after 9/16. So, in fact, the convention is on. There are some really good ideas in this convention, like modifying the Constitution, IMHO.
NOw, let me tell you this. Obrador lost due to a fraud. He had this “citizen network” that operated before and during the elections in order to watch them. Well, it happened to be corrupted (surprise! This “left” has no conviction. This “left” as so many others, just seek wealth and power) so the day of the election, people from Obrador party (PRD) in charged of doing the watching and counting of votes didnt attend or were bribed. Also, the software used to count all votes was “altered” in such a way that, according to university scholars, experts on statistical mechanics, broke fundamental theorems. In that way there were also, cybernetic fraud, from the government. The company that owned that software was one of Calderon´s brother in law. Its a great country this one, too. So, summarizing, we had an infamous, lying campaign against Obrador, typical fear propaganda from the right, corrupted and bribed people from within Obrador´s network and a shameful, illegal support from President Fox and all state apparatus.

September 7th, 2006 at 2:46 amrepublican idiot of the week:
“There are some people, and I’m one of them, that believe George Bush was placed where he is by the Lord,” Tomanio said. “I don’t care how he governs, I will support him. I’m a Republican through and through.”
September 7th, 2006 at 3:09 amWhat’s so special about the 9/11 commission report? Is there nothing but truth in there? I dare beg to differ. The report is filled with lies and incomprehensible explanations. The committee itself was full of partisan hacks and had only the task of covering up the real truth. He who reads the report has more questions afterwards then before. I don’t think the documentary willl be different. For shame, that’s the way these self-proclaimed patriots honor the dead of 9/11.
September 7th, 2006 at 3:21 amAnd the builded this fortress, and they made many rules and laws, and they installed cameras and fences, and they gave the chief executive power, and when the finished with their grand fortress they smiled, then they sobbed and then they cried for their children and themselves.
The fortress was not a fortress at all. They had built a prison and they had empowered the tyrants that now controlled every aspect of their lives.
“What have we done?” they cried. “We have destroyed our democracy!”

Whats even scarier is he says I’m a Republican thru and thru and not a fundamentalist thru and thru..
Does Tomanio even know the about the Skull and Bones Uncle Togarmah and what these people are?
They are in effect playing the part of the Pharisees, whom Jesus was very much against. The best and the brightest seem to be the worst and the dullest.

lol Zooey, at least you got something! =)
I don’t care how he governs
that’s just stupid.
9/11 commission:
1) the commission wasn’t appointed until 411 days after the event. compared to other events: titanic – 6 days; pearl harbor – 9 days; jfk assassination – 7 days; challenger – 7 days.
2) before tom kean was named the head commissioner, bush named henry kissinger. that’s right, the alleged war criminal and master of cover-ups for the nixon administration. it was only a tremendous outcry that made kissinger have to resign and forced bush to put forward the much less controversial kean — by then it was 431 days since the event.
3) although the makeup of the commission is referred to as bipartisan, the executive director of the 9/11 commission was a man named philip zelikow (read it, it’s very interesting). zelikow served on bush’s transition team, and he co-authored a book with condoleezza rice. it was the executive director and his staff that did most of the legwork on the 9/11 report, including deciding what information was relevant for the commissioners to see.
and more…

All of Bush’s themes corresponded to wedge issues, the divisive Pavlovian ploys the southern Republicans had become expert in during their decades of battering and dismantling the classic Franklin D. Roosevelt coalition of labor, the cities, blacks, farmers, and intellectuals. They were designed to propitiate the vilest prejudices of a majority, while offending a minority, and studiously avoiding any real politics or economics that might be deterimental to the imperatives of Wall Street or the Washington bureaucracy.
==
Different Bush same game plan.
Pavlovian trickery, more Bureaucracy, deficits and now privatization to enrich his neo-con friends, and all they had to do was create hatred, just as they use hate-baiting [Pundits] today.
Dont fall for the Hate Bait!!

Thanks for the reminder, plunger on what was taking place in 1996. I have forgotten much of what happened in the late 1990’s because of the Republican’s being preoccupied with bringing down Clinton with all those countless investigations from Whitewater to Travelgate, and finally the impeachment.
It wasn’t just Clinton who was preoccupied with his troubles that caused 9/11, it was the Republican Party who was obsessed with getting him at ALL costs instead of doing their job of protecting this country.

September 7th, 2006 at 10:15 am#33 – That’s the only thing that will wake people up – a precipitous fall in their standard of living. and it’s coming.
September 7th, 2006 at 10:22 amThe minute Tom Keane was appointed to head the 9/11 Commission you knew it was doomed to failure. I commented on a number of blogs as to the partisan bias he would bring to the deliberations and the behind the scenes maneuvering. This lilley-livered hack has steered this committee into a meaningless report that has not rendered a viable conclusion except a “lack of Imangination”.
September 7th, 2006 at 10:26 amYou people are big babies. You can’t handle the truth!
September 7th, 2006 at 9:43 pm[...] The “Path to 9/11” however has a few notable differences. It will play on TV… not at you local cinema, for FREE, carried over the airwaves the FCC has so graciously licensed for our enjoyment. It is based soley on the 9/11 Commision Report (apparently) and purports to have the air of fact and truth about it. Its airing coincides with 5 year anniversary of the attacks of September 11, and also comes on the eve of what may be the most crucial midterm elections in this nation’s history. Depsite growing criticism, ABC/Disney is moving forward with it’s airing despite its pre-election timing (other cheek is now airborne, followed by a resounding “whoosh”). [...]
September 8th, 2006 at 4:04 amThe Path to 911 is labeled a docudrama not a ducumentary. Where as Farenheit 911 was labled a ducumenary and had many lies in it. when a term drama is used is going to be added to or paraphased. Many composite characteristerss ar used in dramas that does not mean that this is not the truth.
September 8th, 2006 at 4:43 amI have always felt like Clinton could have took care of more over the terrorist arena than he did. If you think about it. All the players in the mideast got more powerful during his time. Osama became a more power person and even had the guts to delcare war on us in 1998. Clinton did not play this up. instead he was havinfg and affair and got caught. If he had met Osamba head on then instead of having an affair. 911 may not have happened.
Saddam was suppose to go down without a fight because of the sanctions that the UN imposed on hime. But during the Clonton years. saddam grew in wealth and power. All the Security Council except for US and Britain were skimming oil profits and stealing form t he Iraqi people. Also you had a Clinton Presidency that was taking out sadistic leaders right and left but did not really touched Saddam. Bombed him once in a while but only to cover up a scandal.
Lewinski was not a spy. She was a daughter of one of his friends. He knew her since she was young girl. He drought her in as an intern and he had an affair with her because was use to having affairs. She was a long line of women. He just scorned her because she was so young.
September 8th, 2006 at 4:53 amWhen Congress was chewing on him, over his lies and the affair. He did not go after Osama. He bombed Iraq.
Where as Farenheit 911 was labled a ducumenary and had many lies in it.
such as? list them. or name even one.
Osama became a more power person and even had the guts to delcare war on us in 1998.
and clinton tried to pass anti-terrorism legislation in 1996. who blocked it? the republicans see post 146 above. learn a little history that doesn’t come straight out of talking points, you sheep.
September 8th, 2006 at 4:52 pmHe did not go after Osama. He bombed Iraq.
yep, that’s what bush did.

Hello All,
It is very sad and worrisome in my regards, that many of you criticize this film without having viewed it. Goes to show just how extreme you are in your own views. We all know that extreme Muslim views are not very noble. I believe it is time to reflect on yourselves for a time.
Respectfully,
Alan M. Gieb

September 10th, 2006 at 5:26 amI am sure some of you will call for my banishment because of my selected name. Yet a pejorative use of Our Lord’s name by another poster is doubtless just dandy with you.
September 10th, 2006 at 7:18 amWhen does the biting and the hair-pulling start? I thought this was about thoughtful commentary, not name-calling.
September 10th, 2006 at 11:48 amkEAN IS THE WORD WE ALL HAVE TO LOOK AT. He was the co char for the nine eleven commission and he is the co producer of the path to 911! Kean is the connection!
September 11th, 2006 at 5:55 amRead all of the above comments, and it is always amazing to see the power of stupid people when they congregate in large numbers, as in the case here. It is also amazing to see such a misunderstand of American, world and Middle east history, in addition to little understanding of the Muslim faith and its history upon the surrounding peoples of those regions. It’s just a great relief that individuals like you don’t possess the brain capacity to ever progress into positions of power.
