  1. Gary says:

    Is this ABC’s out?

  2. Jebus loves me says:

Man, he’s so f**king dumb. If I was him, I wouldn’t even anyone distract attention from the docu-crapa.

  3. trblmkr says:

I wonder if this doesn’t coincide with the only part of “The Path to 9/11″ that puts Bush in a bad light, when he ignores the “Bin Laden Determined to Strike in the US” PDB. I don’t put anything past these bastards.

  4. S.D. says:

  5. anon says:

This is deliberate. ABC will preemt for 20 mins, then go right in Road to 9/11.

  6. snookered says:

  7. Mick says:

Say hello to ABC’s escape hatch. This is their official and conveniently provided way out of their current bind, allowing them to “postpone” the melodrama and then “forget” to show it later. We’ll see if they take it or not.

  8. Ripley says:

I’m with Gary@#1 on this one: Rove/ABC/Disney bailing by putting America’s least favorite sock-puppet on the air. Too transparent, but funny. Ha ha. Sorta.

  9. Who is John Galt? says:

This just makes ABC look more like the shilling piece of crap network that they are.

  10. elliot says:

The thing I find odd is that we go after Sadaam and we find him in a hole in the ground looking like Richard Hatch from Survivor, but some how we just can’t seem to catch Osama. So who is more powerful? Who were we more concerned with? Was Sadaam this purported Islamofacist? If they even exist at all.

  11. Andrew says:

Like Bush says, you’re either with him or against him! So what’s it going to be?

  12. The Pittsburgh Kid says:

I say let him give a freakin’ prime time speech every night until the elections – can only help to remind the public what a tool he is.

  13. MLDB says:

We’re on standard time already (est?)? When did that happen? I thought we were still on daylight savings time.

  14. DrSinker says:

Something tells me there will be an equal amount of fiction in both!

  15. Sam says:

What’s the conflict here? ABC airs their show at 8 and Bush goes on an hour later at 9. What a great line up.

  16. Who is John Galt? says:

This just makes ABC look like the shilling piece of crap network that they are.

  17. Texas Doc says:

Hmmm…the choices, a docudrama based on Bushit or words of wisdom from the prophet himself. Gosh with so many choices I am glad I live in a country that supports a balanced media. I am glad I live in Texas where I get all of those cool Spanish language channels with my favorite novelas and Don Fernando. Viva Democracy!

  18. Jay Randal says:

Why would Bush even bother to give an address at the same time as the GOP funded phony docudrama on ABC? Karl Rove is losing it badly!

  19. trblmkr says:

    #1,5,7,8

I don’t know. The Mon. part of “Path to…” is 2hrs. 40 mins. long, how is a 16 minute address an “out”?

  20. km4 says:

Bush let’s talk about this….oh that’s right you were clearing brush on your fake ranch so didn’t have time to read the Aug 6 PDB

RICE: I remember very well that the president was aware that there were issues inside the United States. He talked to people about this. But I don’t remember the al Qaeda cells as being something that we were told we needed to do something about.

BEN-VENISTE: Isn’t it a fact, Dr. Rice, that the August 6 PDB warned against possible attacks in this country? And I ask you whether you recall the title of that PDB?

RICE: I believe the title was, “Bin Laden Determined to Attack Inside the United States.”

    Now, the…

    BEN-VENISTE: Thank you.

  21. oldtree says:

don’t let up. let the impeachment hearings begin
let the orange jumpsuits be made and fitted for colostomy bags and pacemakers and rear flaps for “convenience”

The senate leadership now is going to be forced to exert their power over the FCC, time to shut down ABC for good. That is a benefit for all of us

  22. lutton says:

Yes, if ABC airs without commercial interuption, that leaves them with about 20 minutes to fill, a perfect spot to drop Bush in right in the middle of the show. (it’ll probably be right at some right wing fantasy point where the movie shows Bush exercising some mettle!)

  23. Mickie says:

THIS PROVES ROVE DICK N BUSH

    FUNDED AND CO-ORDINATED THE

    CRAPUMENTARY

    JUNK

FROM DISNEY RAT/ABC -ALSO RAN NETWORK

    .

  24. ann says:

Sounds like a good night for Netflix.

  25. Badmoodman says:

This was what God had in mind when he created TiVo.

  26. Badmoodman says:

I wish Ted Koppel were still at ABC so he could resign in protest. I bet he wishes he could too.

  27. Mickie says:

THIS PROVES THAT ROVE DICK N BUSH

    FUNDED

    AND CO-ORDINATED

    THIS PIECE

    OF FAKEUMENTARY

FROM DISNEY RAT / ABC – THE ALSO RAN NETWORK.

    .

  28. Godfry Daniel says:

Tough choice for ABC: Broadcast lies or a liar.

  29. WitchWay11 says:

#23, I don’t believe they’d be needing the flaps, what with the colostomy bags and all. Wait a second. Unless…ohhhhh. Yeah, ok – keep the flaps. ;)

  30. pgw says:

someone please explain this to me because i thought the soviets lost the cold war.

  31. WitchWay11 says:

#23, I don’t think they’d be needing the flaps, what with the colosotomy bags and all. Wait a second. Unless…ohhhhhh. Okay, yeah – keep the flaps. :)

  32. Chris H. says:

This is great. The sheople have already been told that this is a right-wing-wacko fantasy. They are then going to see the idiocy of Bush that they couldn’t even cover-up. Then they will see the idiot himself. This is perfect…

  33. WitchWay says:

Hello…is this thing on? Not sure if the comments are working properly. :(

  34. wisedup says:

sorry I won’t be watching, eather……i’d rather watch paint dry.

  35. Clyde the Ripper says:

There is nothing strange at all about this fiasco. Turdblossom got caught with his trousers at half mast. With the public outcry and the insistence that ABC clean up its act Roverboy had to do something to save face. In effect the protests negated any propaganda value the film may have had by pointing out the errors. If they were uncontested as ABC wanted (Wait until it has been shown to make your mind up) it would have had more of an effect on the uninformed and mentally lazy repug sycophants looking for any excuse to cover Bush’s ass. This is just a ploy to give ABC a chance to cover their ass as well, as MICK posted earlier, eat the $30 million, and forget the film. There can be no doubt that DUHbya’s speech was scheduled after the big storm. ABC would have known of any pending speech and scheduled the film at another day or time. Just another Turdblossom manipulation that the sheeple will buy.

  36. Wayne says:

This smells like a Rove plot, play this docu-crap prpaganda piece, and interupt it with a Bush speach that every other word contains, 911, terrorist, iraq.
    ***We now resume our program….

The whole thing is a paid for advertisement for the Republican Party. So blatant, so evil genius, it has to be a Rove scheme.

  37. joe in oklahoma says:

    so, two fictions at once?
    no truth on teevee?

  38. Jay Randal says:

Oh I see ABC is planning to halt the docudrama for about 20 minutes for Bush to give his address, then continue the film? Hmm I bet Bush gives the address at a pre-determined point in the film, so this proves the GOP funded the Disney/ABC docudrama, and Bush Regime involved as well!

  39. Clyde the Ripper says:

    wisedup,

I agree but I think a rerun of my last colonoscopy would be almost as interesting as your paint and a hell of a lot more educational that the film-flam.

  40. gettingstarted says:

While I am not sure this PROVES that the government/Republicans funded this docudrama, I agree with Mickie…there is something fishy going on. From what I know of people with money, they don’t believe in using their own money…thats for suckers. Nothing gives the repbulicans more pleasure than to use OUR money to fund CRAP that is only designed to decieve and put us further along the path to hell. What a bunch of sick-o’s

  41. MrTimPA says:

Interesting – it seems that ABC finally has an official sponsor for their “docudrama”.

  42. Jami says:

So, has Disney/ABC even said that they’re going to air Duhbya’s speech? Or are we supposed to wait until after we’ve seen it to find out?

I have a feeling that all of this will be about as historically accurate as some of the other Disney-produced films … “Pocahontas” and “Cinderella” come to mind.

  43. RUCerious says:

Let’s watch as Bush becomes the 24X7 commentator on all things terrist.
ABC will use this as their face saving bailout, and Bushite will blame “the media” for “censoring” this “great telling of truth”.
We should rise up off our couches, thrust our right arms straight out at approximately head height and scream “Heil Bush!”

  44. NewNameAcquired says:

Sam (comment #15) is only partially right. The documdrama and Bush’s speech START at different times, but Bush comes in half way through the movie. Docudrama is from 8pm-11pm (Good grief, that’s long!). And Bush’s speach is at 9pm.

I’m sure his speech wont last the remainder of the movie, but he’ll take over a good middle chunk. It will be a 9/11 overload!

We should all just turn off our TVs and go outside and enjoy our surroundings, and enjoy the life we have.

    Check it: http://online.tvguide.com/listings/

  45. RUCerious says:

This reminds me of my daughter’s favorite Disney story, Snow White.
Please match the proper dwarf with these real life characters.

    A. Donald Rumsfeld

    B. Dick Cheney

    C. George Bush

    Answers

    A. Grumpy

  46. Hardy Haberman says:

The speech proves that this is an orchestrated political move. No channel will be free from Bush propoganda. The speech and docudrama were carefully oprchestrated to blitz viewers and boost ratings before the November elections. If you fail to see this then you underestimate Karl Rove and the GOP.

  47. Wayne says:

    #43 — “So, has Disney/ABC even said that they’re going to air Duhbya’s speech?”–Jami

When the President of the United calls an “Address to the Nation”, the major networks are supposed to air it because of their “Public Service Anouncement” clause.

  48. Dennis says:

Everyone in Dc will be watching the Redskins on Monday night. Now we just have to put up with the crappy rethoric they put on display at the game.

Surprised they Don’t have Bush riding in on a white horse to kick the game off. haha

  49. Punchy says:

Why is this POS being run without commercials? Why would ABC take a bath on this program by not airing commercials, but wont do so for any other show, like Nightline?

  50. harry snapper organs says:

I agree with trblmkr — sounds like a perfect opportunity to pre-empt the only ten minutes of the six hours in which they don’t blame Clinton for the attacks.

Think about it folks; ABC strings along these hours and hours of fabricated scenes that build the argument that Clinton and bin Laden were poker buddies who frequently went out cruising waitresses together… then comes the moment when they have to acknowledge that George W Bush was in fact president on 9/11, and that he ignored warnings of an imminent attack. So Bob Iger calls up Karl Rove, Karl says, “I got it! We’ll have Chimpy schedule a “major policy address” for ten minutes, then we’ll cut back to the show just in time to see him mount the ruins with his bullhorn and his codpiece! God, am I brilliant or what?”

  51. Louis says:

Gee, which fictional presentation should ABC go with? As entertainment value goes, Bush’s speech would have all the punch of a re-run.

  52. renat says:

So, this two-day miniseries which covers the mistakes of the Clinton and Bush administration runs on Sept 10 and Sept 11. One assumes that the myriad of sins of the Clinton administration will take up all of Sept 10. Sept 11 will likely be devoted to yet more Clinton sins and the failings of the Bush administration. Let’s see the movie starts showing at 8pm. If Bush starts his speech at 9pm and the network cuts away to it, chances are that all of the Clinton sins will be exposed and the one hour or so at the end that focuses on the Bush disaster will never see the light of day. I get it.

  53. Wayne A. Schneider says:

I’m confused. Does this mean that Bush doesn’t want us to see the movie? Or did they plan a break in the film all along for this speech? That would be interesting. I wonder if they’ll make room for the speech by taking out some of the more controversial, totally-fabricated scenes. If this movie is interrupted by a speech, shown in the entirety with which they planned to show it, and it still ends at 11 PM EST, then it must be because they planned on the speech and left room for it. Otherwise it should end late because of the speech. But since I won’t be watching it, I’ll have to rely on others to tell me what time it ends (assuming it still airs at all.)

  54. Sharon Cox says:

I’m with New Name, This old gal is gonna do a lot of something else…My eye’s and ear’s have been raped enough by the bull shit bush bunch this week….Speeches every day and hearing more of the crap the reich winged numb nut’s bunch keep spouting has made me weary..Perhaps the rest of the country is feeling the same way…

On the Think fast thread this morning Jason H posted he want’s all democrat’s distroyed…….I take offence and have sugested all posters shunn him and pass over his post’s from now on….Blessings..Peace

  55. Wayne A. Schneider says:

    #19 trblmkr,

I didn’t see your post. I guess we were thinking along the same lines. If the second part is twenty minutes short of three hours, then they probably planned for the speech. We’ll see. But where President Bush is concerned, can we ever really be sure of the truth?

  56. For Truth says:

Did somebody get free tickets to Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride and Roger Rabbit’s Cartoon Spin?

  57. trblmkr says:

    #56 Wayne,

Another hypothesis: The 20 minutes between 10:40pm and 11pm was supposed to be for some kind of “discussion”. maybe it was really so Bush could have his 16-18 min. speech and ABC could STILL b’cast the whole of part II.

  58. Baldrick says:

No prob, they can just cut away for the speech like it’s the halftime show. The whole thing is a big right-wing rally anyway, why shouldn’t dingus have a role.

  59. Wendy says:

Seems to me this is an easy way not to air the thing, since it wouldn’t be because of our righteous outcry. Or it’s a fake out like the comment just above.

  60. Pinson says:

Oddly enough, there are TWO Monday night football games happening on the 11th:
    Minnesota at Washington 7:00 p.m.
San Diego at Oakland 10:15 p.m.

Poor chimpy. His ratings are going to suck ass.

  61. dumbstruck says:

Sounds a lot like the old “War of the World’s” hoax.

  62. Tom3 says:

“the myriad of sins of the Clinton administration” Bullshit.

Clinton wasn’t perfect, but he’s an ANGEL compared to Chimpy and his thugs. They are criminals and traitors who outed the CIA.

Go back to Freeperland and marry your sister, asshole.

  63. dumbstruck says:

Sounds like the old “War of the Worlds” hoax H.G. Wells pulled off in the 30’s. It sure stirred up a lot of mass hysteria.

I’m sure the same outcome is preferred by the fascists.

  64. Shannon Cunningham says:

Maybe during his speech they’ll be playing the part of the docudrama where Bush utterly fails on terrorism. That way they say to us “Hey! We said he screwed up too, so us farbicating a Clinton screw up is okay.”

  65. LCLiberal says:

What’s up with that? I thought this ABC series was the GOP’s trick to win the election? Strange that W would undermine that.

  66. Dave Davis says:

You’re overlooking one thing from a West Coast perspective! Presidential speeches are aired live so that will be 6:00 our time. The movie will start at 8:00 our time. I wonder if there is purpose to that? More “Liberals” on the West Coast maybe?

  67. walt says:

Even after the Senate Intelligence Report?

  68. Editer says:

#58 trblmkr: My take was that they scheduled the address specifically so the post-show discussion would not happen.

  69. Amazed says:

The only question is which one will be more filled with lies, the fictional movie account of 9/11, or another one of Bush’s speeches about how we are “winning” the “war” on terror, etc., etc.

  70. Dave von Ebers says:

I bet Bush’ll say, “We’re making inaccurate, deceitful, misleading ‘docudramas’ over here, so we won’t have to make them over there.” Or something.

  71. Elliot Moore says:

I figured that he would come in and do his press address during a particularly damaging part of the program for him… say, when he’s ignoring CIA reports while cutting brush. They’ll cut back into it after the attacks and watch Bush be the hero.

So basically 9/11 gets totally blamed on Clinton and no one actually sees the Bush parts.

I’ll be watching Weeds on Showtime and then maybe the football game so I could care less.

  72. DM says:

Lemme get this straight – did the President just use his authority to bail out a media company?

  73. Steve-O says:

There’s a great Monday Night Football game on the same time. Colts vs. Giants. And it’s on ESPN. So no Geo Bush. Let’s make the game #1 in the ratings…

  74. Sharon Cox says:

Anything but bull shit bush and this movie is my plan….Noticed how many are bringing out the old tape (5 year’s old) of BenLaden a lot today. I wonder how many more rove has stored for appropiate release in the scare, fear induced mania this bunch so convenietly turn out at sagging poll’s.? Or is BenLaden on the bush/disney film company tour and still on vacation at Crawford..LOL….Blessings All, we need them…..Peace, stop the spread of troll terrorism…

  75. Heynow says:

9/11… Day of lies and more lies. Bush keeps disgracing himself and America with his stupid Logic. And ABC getting ready to tell a whopper based on 9/11. Hope they put in the movie the person responsible for 9/11 is still free and hasn’t shit from idiot Bush!!!! Oh… I can’t believe even conservatives thinks this show is inaccurate… Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11.

  76. PigeonPoop says:

    It never ends.

Just when you think it’s safe to turn on your tv again.

These repugs keep talking about facisim and everyday we move closer and closer to nazi propaganda.
The sad part is; half of America believes this crap and the repugs know and count on this.

We can only hope it backfires. If it doesn’t, be prepared to be shipped off to a labor camp hailing the high chancellor bushchild the whole way.

    Fuc* you bush

  77. PigeonPoop says:

Ignorance is the parent of fear

  78. THE GHOST OF WORFEUS says:

Sorry people. I know I am in exile. I will be brief.

When Bush addresses the nation during this speech, look for an announcement of aggression towards IRAN.

    I repeat.

Look for an announcement of aggression towards IRAN.

  79. Trinary Suka says:

I don’t think your in Exile Worfeus, I always like your posts.

Are you sure that you haven’t put yourself into exile?
Just asking cause I liked reading your post’s and unbelievables.

    I know that not everyone agrees with my posts, nor me theirs, so please don’t feel exiled. Now if you were Mighty Aphrodite it would be different..=^}

  80. Trinary Suka says:

Most everyone I know has gotten to the point where they simply don’t even like the sound of bush’s voice and they immediately change the station or channel. They have had more than enough of the Orwellian newspeak. I don’t watch TV but when it come to this man, or what he has to say I simply turn the radio off or change the station. Roves spin has become detrimental to the very man he works for….When will George realize that??

  81. Trinary Suka says:

    Please allow me to repeat myself;

It is Despicable that ABC shows a documentary, a very questionable version, on the very day that 3,000 Americans perished for political gain.

It is inhuman. And shows that ABC has no ‘heart’ nor do they seem to care about those that dies other than to promote a political agenda, and that makes it even more inhuman, in fact I find it barbaric.

  82. James Sullivan says:

The republican congress spent over $40 million of our tax dollars just investigating Clinton’s sexual activities.
Now we have a LYING, SPYING, LAW BREAKING president whose A**h*** they kiss. Talk about a sex scandal ! Looks to me like Bush, the republican congress, ABC and Disney are all in the same bed together.
With all his power grabbing, maybe Bush is aiming to become the “KING of The United States”. and like King Tut (Tutankhamun) to be worshiped as a God.

  83. Checkered Demon says:

Bush is a Nazi. What did you expect but more of the same that we’[ve been getting since summer 2000.

  84. wills says:

Just one more liar and one more reason not to watch.

  85. aggiedemocrat says:

Wait a minute… Grey’s Anatomy won’t be on this Sunday? ABC should stick with what it knows- simple TV for simple minds. No hidden agenda necessary. Maybe ABC Family Channel might be more appropriate. Right before their daily installation of the 700 Club.

  86. nobody says:

or, the drama will build to an electrifingly crucial moment, then Bush will cut in and give his campaign speech.

Bush is using his credibility with the simple-minded people.

meantime, the repugnicans can look intellegent by opposing it… and only the Jerry Springer majority will be fooled!

  87. Mitch says:

I guess the neocons are somewhat bothered by the fact that the planned “post-show” discussion seems to have already happened “pre-show” in the media, heh, and not a too favorable one at that

now the best they can do is to have posterboy fill the gap

btw, nice too see whose side ABC and Disney are on

  88. Kathy says:

Maybe Oprah will do a show on the innacuracies in this movie and bring on people from the 9/11 Commission to tell the truth. Oh wait, ABC pays her salary.

  89. Bill says:

There’s a great Monday Night Football game on the same time. Colts vs. Giants. And it’s on ESPN. So no Geo Bush. Let’s make the game #1 in the ratings…

    Comment by Steve-O — September 8, 2006 @ 2:25 pm

ESPN is owned by disney. That’s the way to hit them hard for spewing Bush propaganda. Making them #1.

  90. Nikita Sergeyevich says:

    Comrades Bravo!

These traitors at ABC are betrayers of our new mother land. Where I come from, this Robert A. Iger would be dragged through the streets in front of the tomb of our glorious leader Vladimir Lenin and shot in public. The producers, directors, writers and anyone associated with this propaganda would be picked up in the early hours of the morning by our State Security Chief Lavrenty Beria (The Black Hand) and taken to a Siberian labor camp never too be heard from again.

For many years I have been loyal to ABC and the Pravda (truth) that our Socialist Liberal ally has put forth in order to progress our ultimate goal; the decline and absolute destruction of America and the capitalist traitorous pig’s like ABC.

I ask you Mr. Robert A. Iger, “Have you no shame Sir”?

Comrades, we must not give up the fight. It has taken us many years to groom you and your elected leaders.

Remember what our great leader Nikita Khrushchev said:

“ We can’t expect the American People to jump from Capitalism to Communism, but we can assist their elected leaders in giving them small doses of Socialism, until they awaken one day to find that they have Communism ”

It’s more important now then ever before that we stand together and stay focused! We can not allow this abomination of propaganda to go forward.

We must do whatever it takes to keep this film from airing on Sunday the 10th, 2006, we only have a few hours left.

It is your duty as loyal Liberal Socialist Democrats to rise up in solidarity and put a stop to this immediately!

Senator Harry Reid, one of our courageous and distinguished Senatorial leaders from the state of Nevada, reminded the capitalist traitorous pigs at ABC of their license from the FCC. Please Senator Reid, we’re your loyal comrades in arms and begging you to use all the glorious power you possess. You must stop this film! You must push forward with an iron fist and crush this despicable display of propaganda.

If this film isn’t stopped from airing on ABC, Sunday night, I’m afraid all our efforts since the cold war and the aspirations of our great leaders from glorious years past and Nikita Khrushchev’s dreams and predictions will have been lost.

If we loose now, the great Liberal Socialist Democratic Party, we have nurtured, will decline into the ash heaps of history never too be heard from again.

You must!…. I repeat, you must contact our comrades in arms at their offices in Washington.

Now I’ve done all the work all you have to do is contact our comrades below by e-mail or call:
