FLASHBACK: ABC Said Path to 9/11 Was ‘Locked and Ready To Air’
ABC now is blasting critics of Path to 9/11, saying the movie isn’t complete. From a statement yesterday:
No one has seen the final version of the film, because the editing process is not yet complete, so criticisms of film specifics are premature and irresponsible.
That’s not what ABC told the National Review’s Stephen Spruiell on September 1:
I followed up on Andy’s Corner post this morning by calling ABC, and was told by a spokeswoman that the “Path to 9/11″ miniseries is “locked and ready to air,” and that she hadn’t heard anything about a pressure campaign to reopen the editing process.
It’s clear that the editing process reopened when people started complaining. What’s irresponsible is for ABC to lie about it.
Write ABC and tell them to tell the truth about 9/11.

September 8th, 2006 at 2:41 pmI think the only real life is people lying to themselves if they beleive ABC is currently editing anything. The whole dispute is regarding the THEME of this movie. That theme is that the Clinton admin is almost completely to blame for 9/11 while the Bush admin bear little to no responsibility. The theme is that the Democrats are weak while Republicans are strong. This movie uses many fabrications and distortions and lies to tell that story.
NO amount of editing is going to change these themes. If they “edit” anything it will be cutting out that character slamming the phone down or something pointless like that. The heart of this movie is a lie and no amount of editing is going to fix that.
So, like I said, the only lying about this editing issue is ABC saying they are editing and people lying to themselves if they believe ABC about anything at this point.

What I want to know is why there is no apparent coverage of Bush when he received the August 6, 2001 PDB titled “bin Laden Determined To Strike Inside US”. Did Bush respond by saying “where are the fishing poles”?. I believe he went fishing right after that. Some concern there.
The truth of that scene would make great footage. Why not shoot it?

Well, my main concern with that argument is - WHY WOULD ABC CHOOSE TO FICTIONALIZE SUCH AN IMPORTANT EVENT? And worse, why choose to air it? And even worse, choose to air it ON 9/11? And worse further, why air it during an election year?

It’s a great way to blunt criticism. You can’t condemn what has yet to be seen in it’s entirety. But, once the lies have been aired, the damage is done and no amount of half-hearted retractions will change it.

The news of the last few days has now amply demonstrated that our President is a liar and there is no good reason to believe that he will stop now that he has been exposed. We are being forced into accountability for past actions that have had, and continue to have, world-wide ripple effects on others. Why should we sleep peacefully, eat heartily, and move about securely when we stir up so much trouble, suspicion, and hatred in the world. We are no longer TRUSTED outside America, so how can we expect to be effective arbiters of PEACE? We need to clean out the rot within our own country before we are fit enough to tell others how they should live. What the hell has happened to us? I used to be so proud to be an American, and believed that I lived in the best country in the world–a country that was known for doing what was morally right and quick to lend a helping hand to those in need without political motives. We need to do some individual and corporate soul-searching about what we’ve contributed to the mess we’re in–we have to be willing to admit that we’ve been a big part of the problem–and go from there. I did not watch all of “The Path to 9/11″, but I am making a copy and will see it later. I watched the Ted Koppel special instead.
However, I did watch much of the actual 9/11 commission investigation on television, when it was being broadcast. I have read the report and today I watched the History Channel presentation “THE 9/11 COMMISSION REPORT.”
If anyone wants to know the truth they should read the report. Take a good look expecially starting at page 100 concerning actions of the Clinton Adminstration, and they should see the History Channel presentation. with actual film of testimony to the commission.
Sure go ahead and review this propaganda garbage from ABC, compare and understand what the bias media is trying to do to the public. I do not believe anyone seeing the truth would not realize where the incompentence lies.
September 11th, 2006 at 8:04 pmGreat movie, but as I started to watch it I udnderstood from the very beginning that alot of the movie was dramatized fiction and as it probably was ment to be. Yes sure this movie bashed the crap out of clinto, but who really cares right ? he’s not president anymore. I dont believe anybody will know the total truth about what happened before and after and “The path to 9/11″ is just 1 media companies insite on the subject as there are many. While viewing the movie I figured out one thing this movie was designed to make great ratings, because whether any of it were true or not, it has gotten alot of attention. Which means more people will watch it which means more ratings etc… you guys know the drill. I’m just saddened that any firm or company would use 9/11 as a way of boosting there own ratings like this, seems a bit selfish seeing how the truth of it was that people did loose their lives that day and was a very drake day for very many people. What abc should do with all the money this film generates is give it all to the peoples families that lost someone that day, donate those monies. Well unlike many of you that believe every thing they see on T.V. I tend to only believe actually physical facts shoved in my face and this is the problem. The goverment is never going to tell the truth about anything, But thats the US goverment for ya. I’m not a republician or democrat or liberal, I am a free american and I will vote for anybody that has the brains to make this coutry a better place but so far we havn’t had anybody in office like that and probably never will as everything is so political now and image based. But this country is still young when compared to the rest of the world. Until this world becomes unified, there wil always be wars, people that hate, people that kill, its human nature we havnt evolved past it yet and it will be sometime before we do evolve so the best we can do right now is hope. Because in the end thats all anybody really has.

People have died due to the Clinton administrations neglect. That was evdient in the show.

Has anyone in this blog cited which parts of the series were fact and which were fiction? did anyone see it at all?
All I hear is a lot of hate in this blog–which makes me want to dismiss most, entries.
The 911 anniversary is making me want to watch as much about it as I can no matter what the intention is. Take all interpretations of what happened while keeping in mind the intentions behind the source.
No reason to get upset. It all comes from one point of view or another.
