Path to 9/11 Produced By Evangelical Activists Who Sought To ‘Transform Hollywood’

Path to 9/11 graphicThe Path to 9/11 is a movie rife with historical inaccuracies that blames President Clinton while heaping praise on President Bush. The docudrama was written by avowed conservative Cyrus Nowrasteh, who once spoke on a panel entitled: “Rebels With A Cause: How Conservatives Can Lead Hollywood’s Next Paradigm Shift.” But the ideological slant behind this movie goes far deeper than Nowrasteh. Research conducted by a reader at Democratic Underground has revealed that the Path to 9/11 was the result of a project hatched out by a small group of evangelical activists who sought to “transform Hollywood from the inside out.” Here is what we know:

Cunningham Linked To YWAM. David Cunningham was contracted by ABC to direct Path to 9/11. Cunningham is the son of Loren and Darlene Cunningham, the founders of Youth With a Mission (YWAM), a Christian evangelical group that actively tries to get “youth into short-term mission work and to give them opportunities to reach out in Jesus’ name.”

YWAM Sponsored the Film Institute To Change Hollywood. YWAM created an “auxillary” group called the Film Institute, which was explicitly aimed at achieving a “Godly transformation and revolution TO and THROUGH the Film and Television industry.”

Film Institute Began the “Untitled History Project.” The Film Institute’s first project was simply referred to as the “Untitled History Project” (UHP). In July 2005, Fox News reported that filming had begun on an ABC miniseries about 9/11 that ABC officials and producers were referring to it as the “Untitled History Project.” A production company entitled “UHP Productions,” which was co-founded with Disney began filming Path to 9/11 in late 2005.

UHP Became Path to 9/11. UHP Productions has only produced one movie. Harvey Keitel, who stars as FBI special agent John O’Neill in the movie, said that when he received the original script, “it said ABC History Project.”

Tell ABC to tell the truth about 9/11. Max Blumenthal has more.

Of course, whereas most people see pissing off several foreign countries and possibly killing innocent civilians as too high a price for acting on 1 unreliable source, Bush has shown that he’s willing to do just that; I suppose the opposing arguments make sense to his remaining supporters.

  8. Jonathan says:

    Juan,
I know what you mean, but really, we’re taking the right wing and its lies apart at the seams. We’re having too much fun to stop now :)

Overall, it’s been a very bad week for the right wing/GOP, and not just because of ABC.

Maybe the writer’s a master of irony, and implying we should substitute Bush for Clinton; but it’s Fox News.

  10. Ronin Tetsuro says:

The scariest thing is that people may begin to say things like ‘Oh, well. It was just those Christian fundamentalists trying to upsurp the country again. Nothing to see here.’

What disturbs me is that people who have/had the ability to investigate the truth, say like Thomas Kean, are HELPING and ENCOURAGING these people. That’s a very bad sign of some problems that go deeper than ABC and Disney.

That’s why no matter who comes out from under a rock and says they are ‘appalled’ on Pundit Television, we STILL need to clean sweep this Administration. See all the Republicans and Democrats alike that are running scared and climbing all over themselves to make it clear where they stand on this whole ABC thing? That’s because Americans are exercising their power to dissent. The only true power in this country. They were doing their damnnest to get you to forget and they failed.

Now it’s ‘every thug for himself, elbows and ass holes into the underbrush’, because we’re calling them on their bullshit. Keep the fire under them on ALL issues, and we my yet get this country back from the clutches of evil.

  11. Badm,oodman says:

Stop whining, Juan.

  12. sanjoselady says:

Juan, the right wing never get tired of an issue, and to back off now would be wrong.

We must keep looking at this and see who is really behind this stuff, because if you are tired of this you are going to be more tired of a fundi government, which will soon follow if we don’t get this group out of office soon.

  13. beep52 says:

This ABC thing may be dragging on, but it’s also refreshing in that people from all over the political spectrum are standing up for a bit of truthfulness and accuracy in reporting. My god, this is what so many of us have been starving for since, well, forever.

  14. Maxcat06 says:

Meanwhile, don’t forget that christian groups are also busy planning to slam CBS if they air the documentary about 911 and keep the curse words in.
Remember, this is the DOCUMENTARY, real footage, where people, responding to real horror, react in real ways with real language. The right is planning to complain to the FCC if the documentary, which has aired before, isn’t edited to omit the swear words.
The FCC website also has the email addresses for the chairman and commissioners…please email them and protest this REAL attempt at censorship.

I’m sorry, but this thread seems wrong. Just say the words, “evangelical christian” and it sounds like a code word for a right-wing wacko. It’s fair to criticize the 9/11 program–it deserves it–but would you highlight if the producer/director was Jewish? Muslim? I don’t think so.

  16. aquarius says:

Well, 6 years and the evangelicals have finally made into the national school system. It starts with this and ends where?? Our children have now been targeted by these crazy bastards, yes crazy bastards. If they want to do good how about concentrating on the homeless, the millions of needy children, the abused women, the starving nations. No they can’t do that, that would be for other people. They absolutely MUST have control of the country, just like uh I don’t know, maybe like the Taliban.

    Comment by Eric Flandrau

The evangelicals are corrupt and have been trying for a couple decades to take over this country. They have either just peaked or else they are going to go all the way before Bush leaves office.

By using words like Godly and Love they have brainwashed THEMSELVES into thinking everything they do NO MATTER WHAT THIS MIGHT BE is driven by GOD himself and so they can and will get away with anything. You could easily slap a Cross OR a Swastiska on that type of thinking.

The Jews and Muslims are not do this.

Just saw Judd on Obberman. TP has done a really good job on driving this story. It exposes the heart of the American Taliban. And I think they are now seeing that America will NOT let them do “what ever they want” when it comes to things like 911. 911 just like Jesus does not BELONG to the evangelicals… not matter how much brainwashing they do on themselves and the PUBLIC. This is going to be a real shock for them. They thought they were Davids… and the rest of America was their Goliath. They just awoke a sleeping giant all right… but it wasnt Goliath.

  18. stevesh says:

Hey, when you guys get the country back can I still go to church? The movies? Have a tv? Take the kids to Orlando? Have a beer with Soros?
Read the 9/11 Commission report? Read op/ed’s unapproved by Faiz? Watch video of Osama and the hijackers having lunch together in Kandahar instead of “Loose Change?”

I saw F-911, but I didn’t write any letters. Is that OK, just askin’?

  19. Susan says:

Well, well, well. Who would have thunk a bunch of evangelicals would be behind trying to rewrite history? How Christian of them. It’s groups like this who give true Christians a bad name. Shame, shame on them. Like I said a couple nights ago, follow the money. Thank you TP for your hard work and determination to get to the bottom of this. You are the REAL journalists! Yes you can go to the movies, have a tv (as long as no Fox), you can only go to Orlando during the shoulder season, you can have a beer with Soros so long as its a microbrew, you cannot read the 9-11 commission report, you can read op-eds unapproved by Faiz, you cannot watch videos of Osama instead of Loose Change.

    Got it.

    Good.

  22. For Truth says:

    stevesh,

Oh I forgot, you cannot go to church.

  23. Jon says:

I dunno. I’m pretty suspicious about The Path to 9/11–I’ve written all the usual suspects to express my concern and to say that I’ll boycott Disney and ABC if it turns out to be as bad as it sounds–but I can get myself worked up that the movie was made by evangelicals. It’s a free country. Some evangelicas are gifted artists. I’m more sympathetic to gay activists or anti-poverty activists who want to make movies, but I don’t see what’s wrong with evangelicals pursuing their visions and beliefs in film form. My problem is with ABC’s simultaneous and irreconcilable claims that the movie is factually accurate and that it doesn’t have to be factually accurate because it’s drama. If the movie turns out to be slanted and invidiously invented, the problem won’t be the filmmakers’ distortion and dishonest but rather ABC’s pretense that the whole thing is “based on the 9/11 Commision’s report.”

President and CEO, The Walt Disney Company

    Dear Mr. Iger:

As [personal information], I don’t appreciate the event being used for poltical purposes. Based on news reports and reviews of your mock-umentary, I believe that the piece is not only factually incorrect, but morally reprehensible. Quite frankly, it seems like a piece produced by former Pravda writers rather than Americans.

By aligning yourself with a poltical viewpoint, which seeks to gain power frome these tragic attacks, you have lost the soul of your company: Walt never produced fear; Jennings on that day searched for the facts. Do you remember these men?

I would appreciate a prompt reply to my e-mail.

I notice the dittohead comment. Nice. But I havent seen a response – just name calling which is what I would expect since the facts fail you again.

Quit whining about it – we’re safer because we are in Iraq – simple as that. I know you don’t want to admit it. I know you want to impeach Bush like Clinton got impeached and Iraq would suit you fine to do it over. I know you don’t like why we are in Iraq, but we are there and YOU are better off for it – and that is what is really killing you. I know you hate Bush SOOOOOOOO much that you are practically willing to let the terrorists win to prove it. So relax, and understand that making hard decisions is a part of the job that Bush has embraced, unlike his predecessor.

Um, I know I’m feeding trolls here, but…

    Bones:

We invaded Iraq supposedly because–and at the time, this was the main and pretty much only reason the Bush administration ever gave–Saddam Hussein supposedly had and intended to use WMD against us or his neighbors.

He didn’t. The Pentagon says he didn’t. George Bush says he didn’t. (Remember his little White House correspondents’ dinner routine in which he looked high and low for WMD that he couldn’t find? That was really him.) The Economist just ran a two-page editorial pointing out that he didn’t.

Saying, “Well, he had them in 1991″ is just silly. If he had them in 1991, they were probably the ones we sold him. He was supposed to use them against Iran. He did. He also used them against the Kurds. By 2003, he didn’t have them any more. In over three years, nobody’s found anything like a usable, operational WMD in Iraq, and I defy you to find a single piece of actual evidence (not a blogger who heard it from some dude who’s pretty sure he saw it on Drudge) that says we did.

Invading Iraq in 2003 because in 1991 Hussein had WMD that we sold him is like a cop getting his next door neighbor drunk on Friday night and arresting him for driving to work on Monday. “But I’m sober now, Bob.” “Screw you, Alan, I know for a fact you were plastered Friday night.”

  51. Yachts and Lattes says:

IANAL but this seems like the missing piece of the libel puzzle. You have to publish something that you know is false, and you have to do so with intent to defame. We know there are falsehoods in the program, because the 9/11 report contradicts it. We also know that they know there are falsehoods in the program, because they say it’s based on the 9/11 report and a reasonable person would assume they read the document upon which they “based” the miniseries. Now you have an unraveling of the people behind the production of the movie, and you find out that they were assembled with a specific agenda to bring more conservative voices into Hollywood. Since a popular conservative opinion is that Clinton was somehow a bad president because he got some trim, the agenda of the producers seems to sew up the malice aforethought angle.

You most certainly are hijacking. Very akin to making up crap, calling it a “docudrama” and defaming people, then when it is pointed out that you are using someone else’s screen name and should change it so as not to cause confusion you continue exactly to cause problems and confusion. Now you want to prove your point – since I was posting here before you with this screen name and you, by your own admission only “started posting here” and now you know someone else has the screen name, then you would have NO problem changing your screen name, unless you are a troublemaker troll.

Didn’t Hitler have a design for master race too? Is it too much to ask that next time born againers return that they come with brains or at least a well thought out plan?

  57. Black Swamp Renegade says:

One Question: Has anyone commenting here, including Faiz, actually seen “The Path to 9/11″?

I thought not. How about putting the 1st Amendment first, and letting the American people decide? That is what we have done with every other controversial publication in our history – including “Fahrenheit 9/11″, “JFK” and “The Last Temptation of Christ”.

Personally, I doubt that the movie either blames Clinton or praises Bush as much as Faiz claims it does. Neither president distinguished himself as a warrior against Islamic terrorism before 9/11. If the reviews of those who actually have seen the advance screenings are accurate, the miniseries focuses much more attention on the nature of the enemy – especially Ramzi Yousef and Khalid Sheik Mohammed. As we now know, they both went undetected in their deadly plans over a period of many years. As we now know, al Qaeda declared war on us in 1996 – and we never took seriously the possibility that they might attack us here at home.

The fact that Yousef and KSM and their co-conpsirators were able to fly (NPI) under the radar of the world’s intelligence and national security agencies has already been documented. It is a fact that cannot be changed. It is history that cannot be airbrushed. It is demonstrated most poignantly by the blood and debris of 9/11. The 9/11 attacks were not conceived and executed in a span of only 8 months. It took years of sophisticated, dedicated, relentless planning and training. Those years stretch back to the earliest Islamic hijackings and kidnappings of the early 1970s. To that extent, one can “blame” every former president since Richard Nixon for the 9/11 attacks, but what good would it do to blame any of them? That is not the point.

The point is that our enemy is sophisticated, dedicated, and relentless. That is their nature. Since 9/11, we know that all too well. Ultimately any blame will not be cast on those who misunderstood the enemy before 9/11. It will fall, with history’s heavy judgment, on those who persist in misunderstanding the enemy after 9/11. Bill Clinton and his whining sycophants would serve themselves and the nation better by focusing on the future, instead of the past.

Let “The Path to 9/11″ be shown. If it offends you, avert your eyes. But let the American people decide.

Think what you like. In this country we have a right to do that. Say what you like, we also have freedom of speech.
I am very concerned about the government putting pressure on the media not to air something.
This kind of thing started a few years back when Republicans put pressure on CBS not to air “The Reagans” for the same reasons the Democrats are leaning on ABC today about 911.

CBS did not air “The Reagans” but it was later aired on Showtime. I think this was a huge mistake and was in direct conflict on our freedom of speech and freedom of the press.
I don’t care where anyone’s political view lie but everyone should be concerned about the governments power to curtail OUR rights.

Remember – defending speech that you agree with is easy. It’s defending the speech you don’t agree with that is difficult…and the most important!

Several problems with your arguement. First it is being presented as “documentary”, by definition this means it’s fact not fiction. Do you even remember the OUTRAGE over A Million Little Pieces, when it turned out to be fiction not fact, no difference. except one. you can not present media of any type besmirching the good name and reputation of a person, present it as “fact” and not fall under the defamation laws in this country. If anyone came out and made a film and LIED about the actions of a real person, the Courts enforce liable standards against the film makers. the truth is the republicans fully expect to get sued and lose. They are presenting this travesty as “fact”, two months before an election, violating propoganda laws. They are presenting this thing at a $40 million loss (no commercials) and will accept an “undisclosed award” in the millions, as the “cost” of stealing an election. Ford did this when they figured the cost of lawsuits and awards for the Pinto would be less than the cost of fixing all the Pintos, and if people burned to death, that’s ok since the cost of the awards was less than the benefit from the sales. So the republicans are willing to lie, get sued, pay a judgement to gain House and Senate seats.

I agree freedom of speech is an important right. But note the “right” only applies to the US government suppressing your right to free speech. It doesn’t apply to people who are outraged at peversion of history for propoganda purposes holding a company accountable for their irresponsible actions. If you really are a free speech supporter a more appropriate fight for you might be Free Speech Zones outside government and political events, arresting people at the President’s venues for the wrong “tshirt” or “bumper sticker”, suppression of free speech rights at airports or government buildings that get people arrested.

Yea – I’ll stick with BonesTwo. I’m sure you think I’m a WOMBAT becuase you’ve made such clever arguments in support of your cause as…… well, maybe next time.

I think you should rename yourself to Dixie Flag.

And to the real Bones – in 63 you state this is a ‘documentary’ when clearly the label ‘docudrama’ implies otherwise. So you are incorrect. and you go pretty quickly from an explanation of 1st ammendment to “the republicans are willing to lie, get sued, pay a judgement to gain House and Senate seats. “. I’m sure the Dems would never lie, get sued or roll the legal dice for power – would they (valerie plame – joe wilson – case in point). Hmmm.

People can say what they want and it is certainly not within the governments right to intimidate a company into showing or not showing a program based on their opinions. Whatever the movie is, the events leading up to 9/11 are clearly complex and anyone using a 100% objective and non biased guide would never be able to pass cross your ever so pious hurdle. What about Dan Rather and CBS using Forged Documents prior to the election – should that NEWS (not ENTERTAINMENT division like in the path tho 9/11 movie) organization be forced to lose their license? I am guessing I will have a hard time finding a post by you supporting THAT. Pathetic.

  69. Are people THAT dense?? says:

[...] It isn’t as though they’re airing inaccuracies so grevious that experts and historians who’s viewed the film has called it wrong, that it was produced by a right-wing propaganda firm, it’s not like an insider told a blogger It was meant to attack Clinton, written by a guy who wants to transform Hollywood for Conservatives, it’s not like conservatives are calling it “Defamatory” and “zero factual basis”, or that a conservative media watchdog group is saying that ABC shouldn’t air it, or even A Fox Anchor, even Bush’s own terror expert says it’s fantasyland. It’s not that ABC is falsely claiming that the docudrama is based on the 9/11 report, and it has nothing to do with the fact that ABC were trying to send out this show to Children with error-filled booklets. [...]

[...] As someone who was pretty close to the 9/11 events when they occurred, I find alot of things that’s been done in its name over the past few years (i.e. the false war on terrorism) a disgrace to all those who lost loved ones. This miniseries that ABC plans to air, a false version of events that distorts the truth and rewrites history, is simply another act of rubbing more salt into the wounds. Playing partisan politics with an event as significant as this is a serious lack of ethics on the part of ABC / Disney. They’re under alot of pressure now to pull the miniseries – and if they’re not smart enough to do so, I expect that they’ll be dealing the repercussions afterwards. [...]

    Comment by bonesTwo — September 9, 2006 @ 5:22 pm

See there’s the differnce, i reflect reality and you reflect some kind of perverse sense of republofascist stupidity.

    (1) A docudrama is not let’s use real people real events and LIE about the events. Did you not see the ads for the film in Europe and Australia from ABC that say this is the “true factual events that lead to 9-11″. This is not a docudrama.

    (2) Your next point was that given the chance the Democrats would lie, cheat, and steal just like the republicans. Well, first I’m glad you agree with me the republicans are lying, cheating, and stealing with this movie. Second are ou really proposing the “But Billy did it” arguement? A kid gets caught stealing and when his Mom is about to skin his behind, he looks up at her and offers, “But Billy did it too”. Great justification. I guess if i need cash I’ll shoot some bankers and say Rumsfeld did it in Iraq.

    (3) Your third point I believe was “it is certainly not within the governments right to intimidate a company into showing or not showing a program based on their opinions.”. Um, you’re absolutely bats#@t crazy. have you heard of the FCC and Janet Jackson nipple slip? Have you heard that the “airwaves belong to the people” and broadcasters must “serve the public good” in order to be granted a license? The public airwaves are completely under government control, every word, every picture, every Public Service Message. Further, there is no right to broadcast defamatory inaccurate material about someone. For example I could make a film about a certain blogger being a killer and a whore, and I could id them by name. If I broadcast that film and it was inaccurate and I had even received letters from the bloggers attorneys stating the inaccurate facts in the film, I have NO RIGHT to broadcast defamatory material.

    (4) Your fourth point “the events leading up to 9/11 are clearly complex and anyone using a 100% objective and non biased guide would never be able to pass cross your ever so pious hurdle.”. Well, again no they are not. they’re only complex if you’re trying to lie about them. The truth takes 30 seconds, lies take longer, lot of bulls*@t to pump out in lying.
Look at all the “consultants” that quit in protest . Look at the first “documentary” advertising and the “true events of 9-11″ advertising overseas and look at what ABC and the producer have said since – “tweaking the film”, not “totally based on the facts”, artistic license, etc. Note that Bill Clinton stopped the first WTC bomb plot , prosecuted, and jailed for eternity all participants, he didn’t blame Bush I.

  76. Truthseeker says:

It’s interesting that Christians never force anyone to embrace there beliefs. However they do express them and have every right to do so.
You should be more concerned with those Islamic terrorists who blow themselves up along with innocent women and children perhaps you, your wife and your children someday if you don’t embrace their religion.
Now regardless of the Path to 9/11 lets look at some facts we already know or should know.
Of course the Democrats are upset by this miniseries. It’s painful to be reminded of your incompetence and your traitorous leaders. Start with Madeline Albright who has made statements to the fact that the U.S. was too powerful and this was unfair to other nations.
No telling what damage she did to try to equalize this terribly unfair situation. She should have been fired on the spot. Then there’s Sandy Burglar who stole documents out of the National archives by stuffing them in his socks and shorts and calling this an accident (sure Sandy). What embarrassing information in the Clinton administration was he trying to cover up? Who helped him to skate with a slap on the wrist? How about Jamie Gorelick who put up a barrier between investigative organizations preventing the sharing of information that could have led to the exposing of the 9/11 plot? She sat on the wrong side of the aisle in the 9/11 commission. What an outrage! Then there’s the commander in heat who was to busy doing other things to want Bin Laden handed over to him when it was known he was behind acts of terrorism against us and our embassies. He also, according to Bin Laden, had given America a paper tiger appearance by his backing down in attacks that occurred on us and our troops such that occurred in Somalia and on the U.S.S. Cole. Again, there was the Iraq debacle. The inspectors were kicked out in 1998 and I thought surely we’ll be back in short order. Six months went by …nothing, another six months …nothing, more PAPER TIGER. Two years passed and no inspections with the “sitting on its hands administration”. Who knows what Saddam did in those vacant years? And we all know how effective the sanctions in Iraq proved to be. Many members of the worthless U.N. and there friends were taking bribes rendering those sanctions null and void. If Kofi was exonerated as the head of the U.N. then maybe Ken Lay as the head of Enron should also been exonerated. I could go on but it’s too depressing. Why doesn’t some investigative reporter look into “Able Danger”? Are they all too biased and don’t want to uncover more embarrassment? Then the Democrats threaten the licensing of ABC after accusing the Bush administration of infringing on peoples rights with his programs in defense of terrorism. What hypocrisy!
Does anybody really want the ineptness of the Democrats in office during these times?
    I hope not.

  77. Leigh says:

As a member of YWAM and also a friend to the director of 9/11, I have to say that I am astounded by the claim that YWAM was some subversive agent in this film. This reporting and assessment of who David Cunningham is and YWAM’s involvement is so wrong it’s laughable. Laughing is pretty much what we YWAMers are doing, except for the fact that these allogations could damage David’s career. What is being reported is rubbish. How do I know? Because I am getting my information FIRST HAND.

My faith in the accuracy of the new media has been killed. My belief in the integrity of the demoratic party has desolved. And, honestly, I must say that people will believe anything, if it is in-line with their preconceived biases.

Do you know many groups of missionaries who could pull together 40 million dollars simply to make a political statement? It’s absolutely crazy. There is no truth what-so-ever to this completely irresponsible reporting.

YWAM is interested in building homes for AIDS orphans, re-habilitaing prostitutes in the third world, protecting children at risk, etc. Political statements are not even on our radar when it comes to our heart or priorities. If we had 40 million dollars, we’d FEED people, not attack the democratic party. In fact, MANY American YWAMers are democrats! In fact, we’re only 26% American…the majority of YWAMer’s don’t even live in our country or vote.

David just happens to be the son of the Founder of YWAM. David’s sister ran a pre-school on the set of 9/11 in Toronto. Is that a subversive plot to destroy the democratic image? Actually, it appears to me, as a person who is actually not very intersested in politics, that the democratic party and the news stations it has in its pockets will go to any length to destroy this film, even if it means reporting lies and abusing freedom of speech.

So, my faith in God is still in tact. But, my faith in the integrity of the news media and the democratic party has been dashed to pieces. Such a shame, since I was one of those swing votes.

  78. YWAMer says:

    A NOTE FROM ANOTHER YWAMer…

I have to say that it is nuts the way that our school of FILM is being railed on as some subversive plot to infiltrate Hollywood. We are a University as well as a missions organization. We have classes on film and acting, as well as classes on creating sustainable farms in the third world. We want to be a positive influence in the world? Is that a crime? Is that a covert plan? Last I heard, it was commendable.

YWAM knows media is an important voice in the world. All those quotes on the web about the Film Institute have construed it to be a “covert evangelical plot”. Are we all a little paranoid out there? I mean…come on!

And the web pages about the Film Institute that are “mysteriously missing” have probably been pulled because random YWAMers…who have nothing to do with any of this controversy are being tracked down and hounded by the media and could get death threats, etc. (People involved with this film are getting death threats.) YWAMers names and contact info were on those pages. So, there is the secret to the big cover up.

The Film Institute simply wants to encourage Christians to be a part of Hollywood. That town and industry are not easy things to become a part of as Hollywood tends to discriminate against believers. Case and point this movie and the attacks on YWAM
    .

David Cunningham is not some undercover agent out to take over the media industry. He is a guy who loves to direct films and is also a Christian. The Film Institute is not a “plot”, it’s just a way for David to help aspiring film directors, etc. The University his Father founded is a natural way to find these aspiring future Hollywood types. I do believe many, many players in Hollywood also like to help out those who are aspiring to be a voice in the media?

“Transforming” Hollywood is a big, inspiring word for the hope the University of Nations has to see its graduates become a positive, influencing voice. It’s a hope to produce films and shows and screen plays that inspire faith and the better things in humanity…It’s a hope to train actors who will actually grow up to be people you WANT your child to look up to. That’s our big master plan. So in case you are worried about Christians being in Hollywood, I’ll say it more plainly. Nobody is planning to control your mind, beliefs or values. I KNOW YWAM has no interest in controlling political parties.

I mean, really, is there no room in Hollywood for people who want to inspire, uplift and challenge humanity to find the best in themselves? To question and explore the greater truths about why we are here and is there a God? We seem to have room for Snakes on a Plane. (Which is a great title by the way!)

Do we really think it’s a crime for Christians to be a part of Hollywood? The media and especially this website sure is treating it as so.
Last I checked, the founders of America came to escape religious persecution.

  79. Nikita Sergeyevich says:

    Comrades Bravo!

These traitors at ABC are betrayers of our new mother land. Where I come from, this Robert A. Iger would be dragged through the streets in front of the tomb of our glorious leader Vladimir Lenin and shot in public. The producers, directors, writers and anyone associated with this propaganda would be picked up in the early hours of the morning by our State Security Chief Lavrenty Beria (The Black Hand) and taken to a Siberian labor camp never too be heard from again.

For many years I have been loyal to ABC and the Pravda (truth) that our Socialist Liberal ally has put forth in order to progress our ultimate goal; the decline and absolute destruction of America and the capitalist traitorous pig’s like ABC.

I ask you Mr. Robert A. Iger, “Have you no shame Sir”?

Comrades, we must not give up the fight. It has taken us many years to groom you and your elected leaders.

Remember what our great leader Nikita Khrushchev said:

“ We can’t expect the American People to jump from Capitalism to Communism, but we can assist their elected leaders in giving them small doses of Socialism, until they awaken one day to find that they have Communism ”

It’s more important now then ever before that we stand together and stay focused! We can not allow this abomination of propaganda to go forward.

We must do whatever it takes to keep this film from airing on Sunday the 10th, 2006, we only have a few hours left.

It is your duty as loyal Liberal Socialist Democrats to rise up in solidarity and put a stop to this immediately!

Senator Harry Reid, one of our courageous and distinguished Senatorial leaders from the state of Nevada, reminded the capitalist traitorous pigs at ABC of their license from the FCC. Please Senator Reid, we’re your loyal comrades in arms and begging you to use all the glorious power you possess. You must stop this film! You must push forward with an iron fist and crush this despicable display of propaganda.

If this film isn’t stopped from airing on ABC, Sunday night, I’m afraid all our efforts since the cold war and the aspirations of our great leaders from glorious years past and Nikita Khrushchev’s dreams and predictions will have been lost.

If we loose now, the great Liberal Socialist Democratic Party, we have nurtured, will decline into the ash heaps of history never too be heard from again.

You must!…. I repeat, you must contact our comrades in arms at their offices in Washington.

Now I’ve done all the work all you have to do is contact our comrades below by e-mail or call:

Wow…you all will believe anything that is said. Let me say, as a person involved with the leadership of YWAM…

YWAM had nothing to do with the message or funding of this film.

YWAM is NOT a right wing- fundamentalist evangelical organization.

YWAM has nothing to do with the Religious Right.

YWAM is MOSTLY made up of NON-AMERICANS, who don’t care about all this or know what the religious right is.

YWAM has TONS of DEMOCRATS in it.

You guys are believing lies. This web-site is not to be trusted.

You should all check your hearts for the obvious BIGOTRY you feel towards Christians. In light of the REAL FACTS I have just listed, shouldn’t there be an inner alarm going off about the hateful prejudice against believers in our nation?

You all are part of persecuting an organization that helps millions of people across the world…. Why exactly? Why are you all SO WILLING TO BELIEVE LIES ABOUT CHRISTIANS?

Details, please, details. (About the film.)

I haven’t seen it and I’m not an American. But if you’re going to knock something, stop knocking the people who made it and give some details on why the film is innacurate.

I followed the link you gave, and at that site as well, there’s precious few details … just a statement that the film is pro-Bush and anti-Clinton. I don’t know if it is or not – I haven’t watched it.

But if you say it is, give me a concrete example, please. Or many concrete examples.

  83. Lou Vasquez says:

    #81- Pertfectly put comrade.

I honestly used to believe the left had mostly good ideas, unrealistic for a capitalist society perhaps, but the ideology seemed on track. The vision was pretty clear… It was the actual (government) execution of these programs that was always lacking. That was then.
I’ve completely changed my point of view. It’s clear to me now that the Democratic party has become a radical voice that will not only turn on, but furiously attack anybody or entity that doesn’t fall in line with the new “Agenda”.
Nowhere is this more clear than in the recent events involving Joe Lieberman & now… ABC.
Lieberman was the man you same people nominated as one of the 2 best suited to represent the party only 6 years ago. Today he is your newest enemy. Lieberman, like the rest of the Democratic party, voted to remove Sadam. But, because he held to his convictions & would not go back on his decision and cave-in (like everyonre else in the Party) he’s been exhiled & ridiculed. Who changed? Joe… or the Party?
Now ABC? Isn’t this the same station that aired “Commander in Chief” for an entire season? Whereas the producers openly admitted that they wanted to warm the audience up to the idea of a woman in the Whitehouse? How about Desparate Housewives? Do you think the Christian right is behind that one too? ABC is owned by Disney! Disney is an extremely liberal company. Just like Apple (a great company btw, regardless of political ideology), Disney is a group that has openly embraced & sided w/liberal view points. Never stopped me from seeing Lion King.
And as far as the Christian “right” is concerned… I’d bet at least 80% or more of all folks posting on this sight were brought up by parents with Christian values. So… guess your folks (your creators) were all dead wrong, huh? Which also means most of us (myself included) were brought up within a web of lies. A conspiracy from the get go. Actually fits in nicely with the rest of the Party talking points.
So I ask… You all think the Republican party is scary? Take a look in the mirror, friends. There’s a movement stirring in this land of ours. One that hates Christians, family values, and anyone or thing that disagrees with it’s political “Agenda”, as our comrade so eloquently put (81).
And that, to me, compared to an administration that will be out of office in another 2 yrs, is truly SCARY.

ABC, thank you sooooooooooo much for airing this! Very thought provoking. I would like to hear what Muslims thought about it.
I couldn’t help but think that perhaps all the protesters who have written might use their efforts, not against “caring whistle blowers”, but banding together for the annialation of terrorism!
If I know YWAM, and I believe I do, they are praying for the Muslim world, the news media, ABC, America, terrorists, and politicians too. Would this be too hard for all to believe?
Let’s all join forces together and do away with an encroachment of evil that is seeking to take away our freedoms…..
    Yes! Freedom of Speech

While surfing the WWW for info about the show, “The path to 9/11” I came across your site. I am a conservative and have been since I mistakenly voted for Jimmy Carter. Nice man / bad President. As I started reading the comments my initial thoughts were “where are we going and why are we in this hand basket”? I have a hard time understanding Bush haters. They seem bent on jumping in that hand basket and going along for the ride. I kept reading and as the time came for the actual airing of the show got closer I noticed the comments flavor seemed to change (with a small number of exceptions). After the show aired there was a definite change. Where were all the complaints from the left when Nowrasteh aired his show on Showtime “The Day Reagan Was Shot”? I was a day or so late watching “The path to 9/ll” since I recorded it on the DVR. It seems that with all of the whining and Bush bashing going on, the real thinkers out there might actually be paying attention. They might be starting to realize that we are at war. They might realize that we need to do something about this before it’s gone to far. They might realize that these extremist’s will not be content until every person on the face of the earth believes the way they do or they are removed from it. I believe the majority of people out there truly understand and will vote to put in office the people that will stand up and protect us from these terrorists. I don’t care if our elected officials are Democrat, Republican, Green, Blue, Black, White Christian or Atheist. The main objective of the Constitution of the United States of America is to protect its citizen’s from harm. There are other things, but that is A # 1 priority. The purpose of the Office of the President is to defend the Constitution. With the discussions of WMD’s, religious groups, political beliefs, TV show’s, etc. aside – the real and biggest problem we as a nation, or as a world population face today is our safety and well being……and these radical Islamist’s are a real threat to all of us. All politicians are crooks. We know that. They all lie. We know that too. They all play partisan, power grabbing politics. We are aware of that as well, but we don’t have to except these conditions. We can vote to change things. The people we are liberating can’t. You say, “We can’t liberate a country by sending in troops and bombs.” I’d ask you what you think of the Allied liberation of France, Belgium, Norway, Poland, Austria, etc. during WWII? You ask, “Why us? Why now?” I’d answer with the same thing Reagan said when asked about his efforts to bring down the USSR during the Cold War. “If not us….who? If not now….when?” We need to ban together as we did after 9/11 and defeat the radical extremist beliefs that are amongst us whether they are Islam, Christian or KKK. If we don’t, there will be no Constitution to defend. However, if it gets to that point it really won’t matter to any of us individually anyway because we will have either gone along for the ride in the hand basket or we will not be here anymore. I say, lets get them now, whatever it takes. I like being here and I will not go for that hand basket ride. All things considered, this world is a pretty nice place, don’t you think? Worth saving, don’t you think?

bottom line…..grow up everyone! Take responsibility for your actions…if you don’t like the outcome of who wins elections and how they run the country, then change it. Don’t sit on your fat butts on your computers and write hateful remarks. IT’S A MOVIE FOR GOD SAKE! A movie……….who’s to say that any movie made is true even if they say it is. I’m a Christian and as I watched Mel Gibson’s, The Passion of the Christ, I saw things that were his interpretation. Who’s to say it’s entirely true or not….not me? I believe what I believe, and it makes me what I am.
