Umm.... I'm a Canadian and I don't completely understand American politics, but, why do you let these guys, who are obvious criminals, get away with all of this? A certain level of criminal behavior is expected when it comes to politicians, but I think there are limits.
Any other democratic country in the world would have these guys out on their asses by now.

Condi Rice was forced to tell the 911 commission that the administration had recieved a B.D.B. stating Osama Bin Ladin was determined to attack the U.S. Just recently, Bush and Cheney said they may have been able to prevent the 911 attacks if only they would have wire tapped the terrorists. My question is -- WHY DIDN'T THEY? We patriotic Americans need answers.

It all comes down to the V.P. wanting a war at all costs, and now trying to justify it at all costs. The President being a narrow minded incometent who has the leadership and vision of a petty minded dictator. The Sect. of Defense, who at best is simply an incompetent who refused reality despite his military advisors attempt to give him honest appraisals, and at worst a feeble-mined halfwit who is delusional.

What can we expect? A war effort that was crippled at its inception. Rumsfeld relieved the Chief of the Joint Chiefs of Staff because he continually refused to follow Rumsfelds delusion about attacting Iraq. (Check out the similarity of Hitler's deslusions about military operations in the Soviet Union). He threatened to relieve any senior staff member of the Pentagon who talked about continued effort in Iraq after the invasion, and forbid ANY planning for controlling and pacifying Iraq after the invasion.

Political leadership that cannot get thier stories straight. President Bush denied any connection between Saddam Hussein and 9/11 only 3 weeks ago, yet V.P. Cheney is claiming it today!

This is a high misdemenor of office. Impeachment is the only recourse. And voting the Republicans out, and chastising the Democrats who supported this administration.

Post 156..to be exact:
According to an article by Fred Kaplan, Bush spent about 40% of his first year as president away from the Whitehouse:

"Then again, it's easy to forget that before the terrorists struck,

Bush was widely regarded as an unusually aloof president.

Joe Conason has calculated that up until Sept. 11, 2001, Bush

had spent 54 days at the ranch, 38 days at Camp David, and four

days at the Bush compound in Kennebunkport—a total of 96 days, or

about 40 percent of his presidency, outside of Washington."

Bush Sr. had quite a bit of vacation time too, it is pathetic.

     President Jimmy Carter (D) Georgia:

            79 Days (over 1 term - 4 years)

     President Ronald Reagan (R) California:

            335 days (over 2 terms - 8 years)

     President George H. W. Bush (R) Texas:

            543 days (over 1 term - 4 years)

President William J. Clinton (D) Arkansas:

            152 days (over 2 terms - 8 years)

President George W. Bush (R) Texas:

250 days (as of Aug. '03, less than one term!)

If I am wrong on any of these numbers, please feel free to show me different stats.

There are "146,587 terrorist supporters living in the state
of Connecticut" according to Vice President Dick Cheney - the
number of Ned Lamont voters.

He claims they're encouraging "the Al Qaida" types who want
to "break the will of the American people in terms of our
ability to stay in the fight and complete the task" in Iraq.
Remember this statement America, I won't forget it, and I am still waiting for Cheney to apologize to the citizens of this country.

"[C]onfidently instructing his party how to dig holes in the ground to lie in undetected at night. A bomb dropped by a U.S. aircraft can be seen exploding in the distance. 'We were there last night,' bin Laden says without much concern in his voice. He was in or headed toward Pakistan, counterterrorism officials think.

"That was December 2001.
Only two months later, Bush decided to pull out most of the special operations troops and their CIA counterparts in the paramilitary division that were leading the hunt for bin Laden in Afghanistan to prepare for war in Iraq, said Flynt L. Leverett, then an expert on the Middle East at the National Security Council.

[["I don't know where bin Laden is. I have no idea and really don't care. It's not that important. It's not our priority."
- G.W. Bush, 3/13/02]]
==
"'I was appalled when I learned about it,' said Leverett, who has become an outspoken critic of the administration's counterterrorism policy. 'I don't know of anyone who thought it was a good idea. It's very likely that bin Laden would be dead or in American custody if we hadn't done that.' Several officers confirmed that the number of special operations troops was reduced in March 2002."

Perhaps just as appalling is this eerie video, which makes one wonder just how closely we tracked bin Laden. Unless they just plucked it off the Internet – could it have been part of al-Qaeda's propaganda effort, posted on some jihadist Web site? – our government's possession of the tape indicates just how close they came to him, and how just a little more sustained effort might very well have nabbed him.

Given the above, we can say, with fair certainty – and a certain rectitude in our voice – that bin Laden was allowed to get away. Not inadvertently, as an unintended consequence of a mistaken policy, but as the result of a conscious decision that made the invasion of Iraq a higher priority than the capture of the terrorist leader --Justin Raimondo

Cheney is just plain psychotic. He needs to be committed.

Problem is he'd probably have the psychiatric nurses bought off even before he got there. No, he needs to be tried and convicted. The Hague guards don't go into denial about how dangerous he and the rest of his crime family are.

How Americans can stomach this lying sack of shit is beyond me.

We can't.

He hadn't seen it???? He had the nerve to say that? The Vice President, the presiding officer of the Senate, had not seen the report of the Senate Intelligence Committee contradicting the lie he's been spreading for 4 years? I don't know what's worse, not "seeing it" or admitting that he doesn't care enough to keep himself informed of the pronouncements of his own legislature.

Jay Randal,
Yes, after watching the CBS 9-11 program tonight (mostly from the French documentary) it hit me how horrible this man is and that he represents the criminal element in our government. He insists on repeating a lie on every occasion that the truth is finally admitted and the lie put in the past. He can't let it die! The lie is everything.

The scene where the firemen describe the explosions they heard at regular intervals was CUT. SHAME. (If you have it on your computer, hold on to it.)

So many f**king lies and now they can't get them all in sync. Phew! It must be a fulltime job to be a liar.

Cheney - a person that has truly risen to his highest level of incompetence.
