DC affiliate (WJLA) distances itself from Path to 9/11:

“Tonight’s movie The Path to 9/11 was produced by the ABC television network. The program has received some criticism for its depiction of events leading up to the September 11, 2001 attack on America… The dramatized portrayals in this program do not necessarily reflect the views of WJLA television or its ownership…”

Awesome! If more stations do that in the other markets, maybe the penny (or the umpteen million dollars!) about what a boycott will cost will finally drop on the ABC/Disney management…

  2. Robroy says:

So far its a great movie…..

  3. Zooey says:

The dramatized portrayals in this program do not necessarily reflect the views of WJLA television or its ownership…”

    But they’re showing it anyway…

Is there some rule that ABC affilliates must show the prime time programming?

  4. Robroy says:

    of course I prefer DOCUDrama.

  5. Zooey says:

    What is that picture?

  6. required says:

I don’t now if I agree with your assessment that they distanced themselves.

When they run that disclaimer while continuing to show the program, they are still carrying out the right-wing agenda.

If they wanted to distance themselves, they did not have to show the program.

First 25 minutes on here on the East Coast. Riveting and well-filmed. Makes you furious all over again….And not at Clinton–not at Bush — But at the Islamist Al Qaeda animals who carried out this atrocity (as well as the first WTC bombing)…

Ur right Exley… done pretty well so far.

#5 Zooey…That appears to be a screenshot of the fuses burning during the first World Trade Center bombing….Powerful scene. Shows how disappointed the 1993 bombers were that the towers did not collapse into eachother after that bombing.

  13. JP says:

My friends and I were talking about the fallout of this and it is going to be massive which is why Chris Wallace, Bill Bennett and others on the right are distancing themselves along with urging ABC to edit or pull it altogether. With a more than 50% majority of Americans already questioning the official story of 9/11 – that is the 9/11 commission report – my friends’ thoughts are that this will only further push another 10 – 15% of the American people to question 9/11.

already you can tell by the subtle jabs like no wire taps means we want dead americans! look for not the lies but the misdirections. The worst lies are the ones which clothes itself in a grain of truth.

  15. dlet says:

Today bush laid wreaths at the World Trade Center site. He couldn’t heed the warnings given to him from the previous administration, isn’t doing anything to make this country safer, can’t capture the man behind the attacks and he can’t even get the date correct for mourning.

  16. Jane E. Schneider says:

Exley: Wayne said to tell you: 4! I messed up, I was on the 3rd base side, right across from Floyd. It was hot as hell! Hope you got to see the game. I’m at work ’cause I’m taking off tomorrow and Tuesday to do some volunteer work for one of the Democratic Congressional hopefuls. If you want to chat, meet me at the September 8th “Think Fast” thread.

    Sorry about being off-topic.

  17. Robroy says:

Looking for those warnings dlet, cant find them can you.

  18. Exley says:

    #14 js,

There was also what could be a subtle jab at the Bush administration — When the FBI is interrogating one of the first WTC bombers back in 1993 and the film depicts flashnacks to his torture in Egypt. One of the FBI agents says, “We’re not going to torture you. We don’t do that.”

Some could take that as a jab at the current administration.

  19. Robroy says:

Right we didnt do that in 93

  20. Exley says:

  29. starwheel says:

No offense but this is a legalese cop out. It’s “cut and run [with it]“.

ABC/Disney is a disgrace. I’d have more respect for them if they flew an airplane into a building themselves.

This propaganda promoted as “fact”, i.e. religious belief, is an opiate to the masses and it was intended to influence the mid-term elections.

The ends of their means, preserving one party Republican control of our government, will do more damage to our democracy than Osama’s band of merry men ever could.

  30. Robroy says:

Yeah I agree, cut and run occured too many years ago.

  31. Exley says:

An hour and a half in and nothing has occurred that could even be remotely seen as controversial or anti-Clinton…In fact, the successful hunt for the first WTC bombers puts the Clinton-era FBI and intelligence agencies in a very good light.

Last year WJLA sponsored the Pentagon’s “America Supports You Freedom Walk” — an event that politicized 9/11 on its anniversary by linking it to the war in Iraq. That event went over like a lead balloon, and I’m sure WJLA took a lot of hits for it. They don’t want a repeat of last year’s controversy.

  35. Zooey says:

  36. Nellie says:

A shameful show of disrespect by ABC. I take little comfort that an affiliate runs a 10-second disclaimer at the front end of a six-hour tissue of lies and distortion. How can a network abuse such a tragic event? Disrespect for the victims, the troops fighting overseas, the audience, the nation.

  37. Jane E. Schneider says:

#31, Exley, the “successful hunt for the first WTC bombers” was successful because Clinton made it a law-enforcement issue rather than a military one.
(Hey, if Wayne were here he would have said the exact same thing, so I’m filling in :D)

O/T, the Jets made me a little nervous towards the end, but the defense held, yay! J.E.T.S, that’s me!)

  38. TRUTHSEEKER says:

Does anyone think that disclaimer was added to provide space for a deleted scene?

  39. Madison Guy says:

The guy who wrote the damn thing has been making things up for a long time. Some views of “Path” screenwriter Cyrus Nowrasteh in the city where he went to high school, including one that accuses him of using “docudrama” techniques to touch up his biography. Sound familiar?

  40. Zooey says:

    Madison Guy,

It makes sense that Zoolander didn’t start making up shit with this alleged docudrama.

  41. Exley says:

    #31…Jane,

Clearly, the War against Al Qaeda and Islamist terrorism has a major law-enforcement component. But it also has a military component. Even Clinton did not reject military actions against Al Qaeda and Bin Laden. Remember Clinton sent cruise missiles into Sudan and Afghanistan against Al Qaeda (Hardly a law-enforcement approach)….Plus, look at the Richard Clarke memo that dlet sent around in psoting #21. That memo states that the Clinton administration saw military action as a component of the fight against Al Qaeda.

  64. Exley says:

And at 10:09, we pick up a clear swipe at the Republican Congress of the 1990s. The Clinton administration’s cruise missile strikes in the Sudan and Afghanistan in 1998 are depicted as well intentioned and based solely on national security grounds. And yet the film has the Republicans in Congress derogating the strikes as a “wag the dog” distraction from the Lewinsky scandal.

Clearly, the film is blaming all facets of the U.S. government and both parties as failing to take the Al Qaeda threat seriously in the 1990s. It is hardly the anti-Clinton hit piece depicted by ThinkProgress and other critics.

On Meet the Press, how many times did Cheney say, “I don’t buy that” when confronted with poll numbers or hard data that prove him to be wrong–wrong–wrong on point after point. America is sick of his shit and he seems to be the only one who believes it any more.

I caught a protest scene in the movie. Interestingly, they had US flags burning. Shouldn’t ABC should be fined for this? Where are the anti flag burners now? Oh, it is their entertainment. Oh that’s different.

  78. Exley says:

    #69 Truthseeker,

I didn’t see the message as being that Clinton hit the wrong targets. It was simply showing that the Sudanese were CLAIMING that the El Shifa plant was not an Al Qaeda front, but rather a simple pharmaceutical factory. That claim is, of course, absurd. Clinton was correct to destroy the El Shifa plant. Richard Clarke also stands by the correctness of that strike.

  84. DeadMouse says:

‘“keep writing the truth as we know it” and what is that?’ – LiamNeeson

You know, the one where Bush ignored the threat, despite copious warnings, the deal went down with mostly Saudi hijackers, gave Bush his Trifecta, world on our side, defeat grabbed from the jaws of victory in Afghanistan when senior Arbusto decided Iraq was the place we wanna be, of course cuz of the imminent threat of WMDs or mushrooms or enforcing the Un scanctions or liberating Iraq or something, so we bought, bullied, bribed and chained together a coalition of willing lackeys and went a crusadin’, tore the roof off the middle east, created a terrorist nation out of thin air (and sand), and now Bush et al are schemin’ about Iran. You know, that truth, versus the one you see on ABC.

    Any questions?

What never ceases to amaze, though, is that nobody seems to realize, much less remark on the fact that Clinton did NOT have the same mandate to pursue Bin Laden that Bush has. A big chunk of the nation, many on the right, were not supportive of action in Bosnia, for chrissake. While people wanted retribution for the USS Cole, we were a couple of tall towers away from a call for anything goes get the man’s head. And it’s a rather useful point if one tries to understand the actions/inactions of two administrations.

    Juan & true,

I went to visit Zoo Jr at college yesterday, and he had me almost coughing my lunch out of my nose.

Our waiter was a lovely young man named Brad. I decided I was going to flirt outrageously with Brad, since the restaurant was
mostly empty when we got there, and since I was wearing my favorite tight T-shirt. Flirting ensued…

When Brad brought my glass of ice water, it had no lemon. I told Brad one of my most favorite things in a glass of ice water was a slice of lemon.

He literally ran back to the kitchen, and brought out a water glass full of lemon. Sweet boy.

When lunch came, I asked Zoo Jr what was in his calzone, and Jr, not to be outdone by his flirting mother, said there was a little piece of Brad in the calzone, and it was too, too yummy.

That’s when I almost choked to death.

My Zoo Jr is his mama’s boy!

You are absolutely correct. The Congressional Republicans did not do well by the country in the late 1990s in criticizing and cynically questioning the motives of every Clinton administration military action and probably contributed to this nation failing to take the Al Qaeda threat seriously enough pre-9/11.

  114. Coffins draped with flags says:

Are people actually watching this movie? I’ve started my ABC boycott so it’s good-bye to this seasons’ episodes of Lost because I am forever lost to ABC.

I’ve lived 9/11 and if Bush had read the August 6,2001 memo which clearly indicated that Osama was planning an attack in the US and if he had acted properly and followed through by securing the cockpit doors, 9/11 would be nothing more than another date on the calendar. But no, he took a months vacation and then returned to do a photo op reading “The Pet Goat” for children and then sat there like a stooge while Americans were jumping out of buildings. The blame for 9/11 fits squarely on the shoulders of the Cheney/Bush/Rumsfeld Cabal. They are guilty of negligence.

Here is it five years later and we are no safer than we were 5 years ago. And Osama if he is still alive, lives his life as a free man and the women in Afganistan are returning to wearing burkas. And there is civil war in Iraq and Americans returning home in coffins draped with flags.

What have we learned from 9/11? If the country doesn’t take a new direction by electing enough Democrats to take back at least the House and hopefully the Senate. then democracy will be DEAD.

Me – I will fight… I would rather live free or die. I will not continue to live in this NeoFascist country.

    Comment by Zooey

I don’t need to say anything. And I think I will plead the 5th from this point on!

  122. Exley says:

#116, 117 — RobRoy…This “Nightline” is excellent. It is referring to actual passages from the 9/11 Commission Report and is interviewing Richard Clarke. Both pretty much back-up the film.

  123. Juan C says:

    And, Exley,
    Comment by trueblue

True, dont bother. Exley has already his mind made up, no matter what.

  128. Jay Randal says:

LOL Exley did you and Robroy get paid extra tonight to plug the docu-drama on the TP threads?

  129. Exley says:

#121…Zooey…Saying someone who is critizing a film without having seen it is speaking from ignorance is not “name-calling.” Trueblue (rudely) responded to a posting of mine without having seen the film. Ergo, he is ignorant of the film’s contents.

  133. Coffins draped with flags says:

Cheney/Bush/Rumsfeld Cabal says that AlQeada hates us for our freedoms. My question is why don’t they hate Sweden, Norway, Switzerland and Finland? Don’t these countries also have similar freedoms? There has to be another reason why they hate us. It can’t be “our freedoms” because AlQeada has not attacked Norway, Sweden, Finland and Switzerland. The hate us because we believe that their countries are sitting on top of our oil and we are always trying to put our cronies into ruling positions in their countries.

But no, they could refuse, if they really wanted to. They’re just covering their asses and still promulgating this garbage. And I wonder what news Bush will be giving us in his announcement?

  136. Tom Betz says:

Over the last few days, ABC cut a half-hour out of part 1 — presumably, in an effort to remove the defamatory parts.

  142. DeadMouse says:

    #93 Exley

    Nice spin.

Truth is: the Republicans didn’t micro-manage Clinton’s terrorist threat activities because THEY were too busy spending $70 million on the endless Starr investigations.

It’s not as if they didn’t enjoy “criticizing and cynically questioning” everything they could about Clinton at every opportunity. Heck they still do. Look at the movie. But they had other fish to fry. Like GW said not long after we swept through Afghanistan – “I don’t really think about Bin Laden much.” You know, cause by then he had his eye on rockin’ the casbah.

Bin Laden, schminladen, I want the man who tried to kill my daddy.

  143. Coffins draped with flags says:

Robroy – I didn’t say I was leaving, I said I was fighting. Remember the story of the 1st American Revolution? Well, you may get to witness the 2nd American Revolution. Wonder if Germany will save our freedoms like we saved their freedoms. The French saved the Americans during the 1st Revolution.

It is treason to attack a person that questions the decisions of the president and Congress. (paraphrase Teddy Roosevelt, the greatest Republican President).

Im sorry, Exley. I have no respect for you since you said you support thousands of dead civilians by US forces all around the world. You claim to know everything about Chile (I lived there, my mom is from there), Iran (got a buddy from there), etc…and your opinions are based on your emotions, your fake patriotism. I was sad when I read that, really. I have a lot of friends who are like you (from the right) but I cant talk coherently with a guy who supports murder of great people my parents knew.

Ok. One last time. I never rejoy on the grief of other people. Thats the lowest thing a human can do. I told you like 3 times I didnt celebrate 9/11. It was an awful day. If I were an american I would be the first one to know the truth about it: who the hell did this? And I would make them pay with justice. I dont care if it was a government plot, a bunch of fanatics or drunken swedish. I would want to know the whole truth and demand my government to release all the evidence about it to the public. My question that day was: who is going to benefit from this? Who would wanted to do this and why? You have your mind all made up about the incident. I am still waiting that the FBI releases the video tape from the Sheraton hotel near the Pentagon to see the plane. I need all proofs and you should too. About Milosevic…well, whatever.

No, it is not. You say that if it was in the interests of US, you supported it. And I asked: So do you support the killings of innocent people for nothing but US interests? And you say yes, because all those causes were related to the crushing of “evil” revolutionary movements (regimes) threatening US. And that was a truly disgusting comment, that, by the way, would be the same argument that terrorists of 9/11 could have used to defend their actions.

  171. Coffins draped with flags says:

All this marriage talk, why don’t you two just move in together and then decide ;) ? Marriage isn’t for everyone but is should be available for everyone that wants it. 201. Freespeach says:

The problem that we all have here is that we are looking for mistakes each party has made over the years. For some reason we need an American to blame for the American peoples ingnorance to the true problem. We preach tolarance and sensitivity, when our enemy has neither. We sit here and blog our anger at our President of choice. All the while the terrorist prepare for their next attack. Will it be New York, LA maybe Colorado…I don’t know and neither do you. But where ever it is it needs to be stop, either by Bush or the next administration. Maybe if we stop bickering with one another and listen to all the facts we will realize that the war is with ALL Terrorist and those that fund and supply them. If we all focous our anger towads the enemy we might be able to win …..

  202. Juan C says:

Oh and Exley (who is apparently gone) about the troops. I dont hate US troops (I dont hate anybody, its a waste of time and life). In fact, the vast majority of veterans of any war hate war because they have seen what wars do to human beings: it degrades them to animals. So, troops have a best perspective about wars than we do. But if you make a choice about a job in the armed forces, you are participant directly or indirectly in killings and repression. They are the steel arm of a country who seeks world domination and contribute to all this war-like fantasy and society that US has built along all years. For example, what the hell has to do some flying jets with a sport event like baseball: nothing. But it helps to keep this fascination with weapons, war and power. And let me say this, if your power depends on the weapons you have, you are not really powerful at all, no matter how many nukes you can drop. The most advanced self-defense weapon in Earth´s history is the brain. No muscle, no claws, no poison, no jaws, but brain.

    1) You have noted my posting #195? Let the record reflect that I have said the U.S. intervention in Iran during the Eisenhower administration was wrong morally and strategically.

    2) I would say the majority of U.S. interventions post-World War II was to serve U.S. interests. But I don’t think that simply because a U.S. intervention was motivated by self-interests is tantamount to saying that it didn’t have a humanitarian benefit. U.S. interventions in Korea, Grenada (don’t laugh) Panama, Nicaragua, El Salavdor served the U.S. interests BUT ALSO inured to the benefit of those nations.

Plus, I would say the U.S. interventions in Somalia in 1992 and in the Balkans in the 1990s were indeed humanitarian interventions and not motivated by the pursuit of U.S. interests.

Don’t have time to read all comments b/c am watching right now–but 35 minutes in it seems to me the Clinton broohaha is a piece of mis direction to distract us from the even more sinister message. Namely–that American laws & the protection of civil liberties are preventing the “Protectors” from doing their job of keeping us safe. It slips in the message of giving up civil liberties.

Scene: Egyptian informer, Nancy the FBI woman and other FBI guys in a coffee shop. Shortly after they rail against American laws the FBI guy links these laws to the potential death of 250,000!!! Americans. And we see an AK47 ( or whatever) firing off. Like it’s a simple and direct cause and effect. Need warrents? Then 250,000 will die! Simple equation.

How could the killing of civilians inured the benefit of those nations? I lived in Nicaragua and in Panama. Haiti is the most occupied country by US in all history. Nicaragua is second. Haiti is first place in poverty in Latin America. Second is Nicaragua. Do you see a pattern?

  240. Eric says:

The film showed an attack against bin Laden being called off because Bill Clinton was preoccupied with trying to convince the American people “I did not have sexual relations with that woman,” and because his instructions to Sandy Berger and George Tenet were to avoid assassinations. Supposedly, that’s why Osama bin Laden wasn’t killed during Clinton’s Presidency: It’s a lie; it’s not documented in the 9/11 Commission’s report, which contradicts that. However, at least ABC did corrected the misspelling of “Madeline Albright” to “Madeleine …” Evidently, the executives wanted only intentional falsehoods in the film, none that would be so “unproductive” as a misspelling. (That wouldn’t have been professional; and this was a thoroughly professional operation.) So—perhaps thanks to “John in DC”—they caught that error in time to fix it, and did.

  249. whattosay says:

Notice that republicans that are Clinton haters have to multiple post to try to up their numbers to be applied as democrat haters.
These acts, lies and propaganda by the republicans should show that all they know is deceit. Can anyone tell of anything they have done that falls within the laws, constitution of United States and the agreement we have signed with the world nations.
If democrats let the right wing pull this garbage off and get away with it, we deserve to suck from here on out. They have nothing to offer so they constantly attack democrats with their lies, deceit and propaganda. 911 was over looked and happened on Bush and Cheney’s watch, and instead of catching Bin Laden they let him go when they had him cornered and waged an illegal war on Iraq. This illegal act of war on Iraq has killed as many Americans for Cheney’s greed for oil and power, along with the high rate of serious damage of around 30,000 young and brave American soldiers.
They claim that about 40% of our soldiers will have mental problems from the 3, 4, and 5 tours of duty, and Cheney has the stupidity to say he would do the same thing again.
Of course Cheney would, but he refused to serve when it was his turn in the vet nan conflict, Cheney received 5 deferrals or more so he could stay out of service.
Cheney and Bush are illegal President and Vice President anyway.
Now the news media ABC shows how right-wing they are. The republicans have been calling the news media and especially ABC liberal.

Juan, It is now after midnight here and thus it is now 9/11/2006 — the fifth anniversary of the day Al Qaeda Islamist terrorists under orders from Osama Bin Laden slaughtered 3,000 innocent men, women, and children.

Like the political candidates in this country from both parties who have agreed to suspend their political campaigns to mark this sad day, I have resolved not to engage in any political debates today. It is a day to remember the victims and focus on that which binds the civilized peoples of the world, rather than what divides us.

I would be more than happy to pick up this discussion on Tuesday, September 12.

Until then, have a good day.

If Osama hadn’t postponed the last item in his schedule for Thursday, the American Tomahawk missiles would have gotten him and some other key commanders during their post dinner Kahwa (Arabic coffee) in the open skies of Khost, 94 miles southeast of Kabul.

This is one of the operations Clinton had, but the right-wing don’t want to here of this. Clinton also gave information to Bush and his administration telling him that his biggest threat was with Bin Laden. But, Bush was to busy deleting and cancelling all of the pollution standards and safety features Clinton has put into effect for Americans.

No, Zooey. Asking for God’s blessing on one’s country is not tantamount to saying that other nations are not entitled to His blessings. Rather, it is analogous to a person praying for the safety of his family. Such a prayer does mean that the supplicant believes other people are unworthy oof God’s protections.

Wrong. Anger has never been a solution to anything. Have you ever been in a fight? no matter what had happened, lost or won, you never feel OK after a fight. You dont solve anything by fighting. So, what US citizens need is to demand justice. Not revenge. that wont take you anywhere. The world is not dangerous, I just mentioned Nexpa, a little beach in Michoacan, its a beautiful place fill with americans, brazilians, germans…nobody hate each other. People want to live in peace, but thats not good for governments. Governments need to sell you the urgency of fearing faceless enemies so you support a little group of people getting rich due to your fear. Wake up. Your cowardice is embarrasing.

  277. Jason M. Hendler says:

What an excellent program, and to think that I would have missed it if it weren’t for all the controversy that you progs stirred up. Thankyou.

Of course, I can’t get enough of those scenes of Bill Clinton’s zoomed in wagging finger during the Monica Lewinski scandal as the mounting threat of Al Quieda grew – and I almost missed it!

Aaaaahhhhhh, finally, mainstream media is putting together all the disparate pieces, so that America can now see the complete picture. I especially liked their mention of the many sub-Saharan African nations that are also tangled up in this – especially Sudan. One day, you will understand the larger implications of the islamo-fascist threat.

Every time Clinton tried to do anything the republicans would bitch and say he was trying to change the subject. Bush had no interest in Bin Laden, just Corporations and their discounts.

Oh, and by the way, Zooey — You are welcome for my response to your question posted at #5. I was happy to help. Of course, it would have been polite for you to say “thank you,” but common courtesy does not seem to mean very much to you.

  315. Whattosay says:

Seems I Bush Sr. started this hartred toward United States by his war for the Saudi’s. Seems like the Saudi’s name keeps coming up when it comes to the Bush family and the Saudi’s

    1991
The first Gulf War occurs, whereby George H. W. Bush is determined to push Saddam Hussein out of Kuwait to ensure the Iraqi dictator doesn’t have a stranglehold on world oil markets.
Osama bin Laden urges the Saudi royal family to find an Arab solution, by raising an army on their own to fight Hussein. When the royal family invites the U.S. in to do the job instead, Bin Laden becomes disenchanted with the House of al-Saud.
His anger grows when after the war the US leaves 20,000 troops behind in Saudi Arabia. Soon Bin Laden makes a deal with the Saudi royal family: he is allowed to leave the kingdom with his fortune, and will receive funding for al Qaeda from various Saudi charities and banks, but in return he must not launch attacks against the royal family.
Bin Laden settles in the Sudan, aiming his ire at the US.

    Gee, Zooey,

Exley (I see you figured out the spelling of the name),

Since my question was not directed to you, no thank you was necessary. Miss Manners would dictate that pointing out another’s perceived poor manners is poor manners in itself.

    Once again, I forgive you.

You know, Exley, you are such a pompous rat bastard, I almost like you.

  321. Zooey says:

Hey Juan, having as much fun as I am?

  322. Nielsen Ratings Sweeps says:

Saw Part 1. Sure looks like Clinton’s fault. Part 2 will only affirm that 9/11 would never have happend had Dubya been prez ‘92-’00. Now what’s so hard about that for the Christian Right and NASCAR bubba’s to comprehend? Limbaugh, Hannity and O’Reilly will make sure that enough of ‘em understand by Nov. 6th. And their benefactors will help ‘em along the way with a few terror alerts just in case. After 5 years, ya think it’s time for the Left/Opposition to come up with a better plan?

You know? The relatives of the girl who was raped and killed by Marines probably think the same as you. One difference: they did lose the child. But I guess thats not important for you. You are too busy being scared.

  331. Exley says:

#322….Actually, Zooey, your question at posting #5 was not directed at or addressed to any particular individual, thus indicating you were throwing the question out for response by anyone who had an answer….And I was happy to do so. You are welcome.

As for my being a “pompous rat bastard” … Well….yeah! What’s your point???

    Actually, I am quite likeable.

And you have spunk. But, of course, there are many Lou Grants out there.

  334. whattosay says:

Just look who keeps meeting with terrors. Seems like the Bush’s family closes friends, the Saudi’s keep close contact with Bin Laden and terroist. Just think 14 terrorist were from Saudi and Bush flew the Saudi family member home from United States after 911 when no one else could fly because all the airplanes were grounded.

A couple of years before the attack of 911, A meeting of prominent Saudis occurs in a Paris hotel. Among the attendees is the head of Saudi intelligence, Turki bin Faisal. They meet with a representative of al Qaeda and agree to extend the earlier arrangement made between the Saudi royal family and Osama bin Laden – whereby in return for cash, al Qaeda agrees not to attack inside Saudi Arabia.

The CIA produces an internal report that documents the numerous Saudi charities that are funding terrorists. Osama bin Laden’s name is mentioned.

  335. dyan says:

I have a list of 180 US landings in other countries and a trail of thousands of civilians dead. How about that?

  339. Zooey says:

And you have spunk. But, of course, there are many Lou Grants out there.

  343. Freespeach says:

  344. muckdog says:

I thought part 1 was pretty good. Nowhere near the political slam job the nuts thought it was going to be. Pieced together an interesting story about the rise of terrorism and the hatred that exists towards the US.

  345. td says:

I hear tonight’s exciting episode, based on a little-known section of the 9/11 Commission report, includes an action sequence in which Dick Cheney personally parachutes onto the fifth hijacked airliner in mid-air, beats up the terrorists, and talks himself through the harrowing landing. Then Chuck Norris and Bruce Willis team up to kick Osama’s ass! Yeah! USA! USA! USA!

  346. Truth Seeker says:

Wake up people. Change the station.

Yes, your corporate media system is *ucked, get it over it and find a new station.

Contrast your ABC with our CBC.

    Regards.

    http://www.cbc.ca/documentaries/secrethistory/timeline.html

It’s a 2-hour show, the first 45 covers the Clinton years, the last covers 75 covers Bush.

The last 15 is especially damning of the Bush administration, suggesting they ‘LIHOP’ed at the very mininum.

Take action, start posting these legitimate docs to your blogs, families, and friends. Make DVDs, get busy.

You know, integrity and getting on with the mission and doing it right is more important than loyalty. Both are great traits, but integrity, honesty and performance and competence have to outweigh, in this business, loyalty.

  350. Jason M. Hendler says:

    Progs, progs (ladies, ladies),

How many more enemies are you going to add to your list? Hill’reh, Raum, Pelosi, Schumer, Lieberman, and now ABC? The list just keeps growing and growing.

  351. jack e. jett says:

the film was very reflective for me. it reminded me of a peaceful time when the economy was good, gas was cheap, and we were so concerned about clinton getting a bj. now, we think gas is cheap at 2.25 per gallon. we are in a civil war.
some soilders have raped and burned a 14 year old girl. we are hated by the rest of the planet.
    please bring back any clinton.

    even if it is chelsea.

  352. Briseadh na Faire says:

Hendler, add yourself to that list, for you have shown yourself to be a false Christian and a Fascist. The list will continue to grow, for a Light has entered the World, and the true nature of people is being revealed. You’re just too blinded by self-righteousness to see. And when you are destroyed by your own doings (and you will be destroyed) you will curse the Sun.

As you have suspended your faith, so too will your God suspend His mercy.

  353. Democratic Soldier says:

    #353 – Jason,

Still waiting for you to “stand up for freedom of speech” and call for the broadcast of the Pres. Reagan docu-drama that the conservatives successfully got pulled from the air.

If you’re truly “pro-freedom of speech” then you’ll be calling for that show to be aired as much as you’re calling for “Path to 9/11″ to be aired.

  354. Been-there Jarhead says:

The sophomoric & jittery hand held cinematic “technique” was/is terrible. Additionally, the willy nilly fast cuts don’t help clarify any story telling other than make the footage look as though it is a gimmick laden shooting style from a first year film student. Nausea inducing. Had to finally just turn the thing off.

  355. Justin says:

KTUL, the local ABC affiliate in Tulsa, broke in with beeps and a scrolling banner several times in last night’s broadcast to tell us that the dramatization did not reflect the views of the station or its employees. I was very surprised by this, and that single action almost (almost) saved me as an ABC viewer.

Too bad the station didn’t stand up for what is right and not show the film, and too bad that ABC didn’t pull it altogether.

  356. Sharon Cox says:

#355 BnF, great post…..Good Morning and Blessings to all this day and every day…..Posting back to nearly impossible….What’s with the Judd and TP.?

  357. Fishin'fool says:

I was always a bit distrustful of ABC…distrust’s accuracy confirmed…BOYCOTTING THIS STATION, AND ANYONE AFFILIATED!

  358. WaltTheMan says:

    #354 – jack e. jett,
Chelsea is not eligible until Febuary, 2015.

  359. Miguel Fipps says:

I thought it was entertaining that by attempting to point out that the Clinton Administration did not do enough to stop the threat, these Rovain agenda peddlars actually just highlighted the failure of Bush and his boys to do anything–ANYTHING–to get the real masterminds behind 9/11, Osama most importantly. “I, I don’t know where he is. You know, I don’t spend much time thinking about it.”

I am looking forward to ABC’s future history projects:

“The Kennedy Assasination–Why Bobby Killed John, and What He Sought to Gain”

“World War II: The War that FDR Created”

“Watergate: How the Dems infiltrated the White House, impersonated Nixon’s Voice, and Caused Our Great Leader to Quit”

“George W. Bush and Military Service: How Bush Was Working Secretly Undercover While Supposedly MIA from Duty”

“Don Rumsfeld: The Most Brilliant Military Strategist Since Genghis Khan”

    “Ann Coulter: America’s HeShe Sweetheart”
