The network hired 9/11 Commission chairman and former Republican New Jersey Gov. Tom Kean as the project’s senior consultant.
“Kean was never on the set,” said Greg Chown, an art director on the film. “The only adviser I worked with was a former CIA guy, who ensured that all the graphics and documents we used were accurate.”
Another staffer, who spoke confidentially, said the only adviser she recalls is retired FBI agent Terry Carney.
“He’d never been on a set before and seemed flummoxed at times. He had no say in the script; he was hired to make sure people held their guns correctly and such.”

It will provide Democrats a “recent†tangible action they can point to that associates Republican candidates to Bush’s failures leading up to 9/11 by pointing out its malicious intent and calculated deceit. The deliberate and dishonorable use of a national tragedy that all Americans still remember and mourn, as partisan propaganda is a depravity Bush Republicans can’t deny. Zenia Mucha is the EVP of Corporate Communications for Disney Corporation, in charge of all media relations, financial communications, employee communications, and corporate positioning. She is clearly a big part of how Disney handles sticky corporate situations, including the fights with Miramax over Fahrenheit 911, where she sparred with the Democratic Weinstein’s for six months in the press.
What possible incentive could she have for trashing Disney’s brand and losing money on an ad-free propaganda piece that helps the conservative movement? Maybe this incentive.
Governor George Pataki insists he’s not thinking about the 2008 presidential race, but his denials seemed a little hard to believe with the sudden reappearance by his side this week of Zenia Mucha, the tough-talking political operative who left Albany in 2001 to become the top flack for Disney’s Michael Eisner….But friends say she’s planning a return to New York as head of Pataki’s national campaign.
Mucha was Eisner’s protege, not Iger’s. She came into Disney’s empire in 2001, recruited out of New York politics, where she had enormous power as advisor to a very detached Governor Pataki, who nicknamed her the ‘the Director of Revenge’. Before that, she was Communications Director for a very nasty and effective conservative Senator, Al D’Amato.
Eisner was a terrible CEO of the Magic kingdom, and he left behind a real mess. Wow.

The European trailer for ABC’s Path to 9/11 miniseries, which is scheduled to air this Sunday and Monday on the five-year anniversary of the September 11 attacks, promotes the docudrama as the “official true story” and seems to utilizes nearly every part of it’s brief forty second running time blaming Clinton era officials, even though it isn’t based entirely on the 9/11 Commission Report and the network has admitted that “the movie contains fictionalized scenes.”
The advertisement, currently running across Europe and other parts of the world, suggests that “one decision” by Clinton officials “changed our world,” and was spotlighted in a Daily Kos diary by a user named “STOP George.”

They make it up Happy. The grunts count how many they’ve killed and report them all as enemy kills including the infants, mothers, and 95 year old arthritic grandfathers. Then command polishes the numbers and eliminates references to 2 year old insurgents and blind paraplegic Taliban terrorists and sends it to the political side of the White House who multiples the numbers x 20, adds the required “and we have captured/killed the Number 2 man of Al Queda” and releases the statement to a bleached blonde who got her job blowing a junior republican Congressman’s son from Podunk, Nowheresville, who reads it to the press while smiling and being overly “happy” because this is her BIG television break.

Reading your last comment, for some unexplained reason, brought to mind the Glory days of Baron Leone, Bobo Brazil, Sandor Zabo, Mr. Moto, Johnny “Red Shoes” Dugan, and, of course Gorgeous George (As opposed to Dumb George) in their heyday in the ’50’s. Each time they appeared on television, danm near nightly, it was the fight of the Century, The Civilized World depended on the outcome. The good guys always won, and the whole thing was crooked as hell. After the match they all piled into their carpool cars and raced to the nearest beer bar before driving to the next “Match of the Century.” Looking back I don’t think the script has changed much over the years except the bad guys win and then lie about it. Maybe we will get an honest referee next November and bring back the good old days.

Those distinguished Gentlemen, to a man, were the pillars of Professional Wrestling in Southern California in the 1950’s when professional wrestling was “for real.” I think it was in 1948 that I watched at the TV store on the corner. In 1953 I bought our first family television and at that time in the LA area wrestling was televised at least five nights a week. I could go on for hours boring all of you so I will just go tell my dogs–they will listen but won’t understand any more than all you young’uns. Thanks for caring!

ESPN will be airing two football games tomorrow night. ESPN is part of the NAAHCP (no typo) (National Association of Ass Hole Corporate Panderers) and will be subject to the same boycott as ABC. While I will not refuse to watch the football games as it costs them money to send them to me, I will note ALL their sponsors and E-mail them all informing them that I will not pay my fair share nor buy their products as long as they continue to advertise with ABC/ESPN and thank them very kindly for providing my free evening’s entertainment. Where ever possible, I shall also mention the name of their most feared competitor. The plan is to continue this for every football game ESPN and ABC cover if I don’t run out of gas belore they do. All you all feel free to join me. I just had a horrible thought! If there is a NABB* that advertises with the bad guys then we are in trouble.

It is late and way down the list so I will tell you my Bay Meadows (Racetrack in Berkeley, CA) story. It is the absulute truth. I went to my first horse race with my Daddy and two brothers. I asked them how to bet. They told me to pick out the horse I thought would be first and bet him to Win, bet the second horse I picked out to Place, and the third to Show. I did and they did and (This part has a little poetic license but not much) they never took me to another horse race.

That same question is still unanswered today in Las Vegas. If everybody that comes to Las Vegas is a winner and goes home with a lot of money who borrowed all the money to build all the casinos and why? We live within 10 miles of the Laughlin, NV Casinos and 100 miles os Las Vegas. On our house-hunting trip seven years ago I invested $21 in Keno tickets. I won $1000, and they haven’t got it all back yet.

Clyde, I lived in Jack Pot Nev. for 5 year’s fished all the creeks and photographed all the wildlife…Only played the nickle machines and won often, before they went video. The old Baley machines were good for pay off’s, the progressive one’s..Kept my money worked at a good casino and left town with a good chunk of cash and went to Montana and baught some land…Did you go to school in California.?…..Plan to go back to Montana in a year, I miss it and the people…….

September 10th, 2006 at 11:36 pmAnother Wow! moment…..I went to high school at 29 Palm’s….No college, school of hard knocks after that. First job was at the Steak House at Knott’s Berry Farm and Walter and Mrs. Knott were the only realy good Republicans I ever met….With the exception of having to serve Richard Nixon a boxed chicken lunch at a fund raiser for him it was the best job I ever had…..It was small then and they (Knott’s) ate once a week at the Steak house and although they were up in years worked full time at the Chicken Dinner Rest…They were quiet, humble and kind people. Their children were terribly uppity and quite a bit older than me…..I still miss the great white sand beaches in Calif..Bet it’s not possible to see the sand any more with all the people..
