Long delayed, heavily censored and only partially complete, the new Senate Intelligence Committee report is still devastating to the administration: President Bush, Vice-President Cheney and other senior officials systematically misled the American public on the ties between Saddam Hussein and Osama bin Laden.
The two sections of the report released late Friday also shows finally and definitively that there were not any nuclear, biological or chemical weapons in Iraq at the time President Bush ordered U.S. troops to invade the country; that there were no programs to produce such weapons; and that the programs had been shut down years earlier.
The report also reveals for the first time that the CIA’s own internal review concluded last fall that there was no pre-war connection between Saddam and Al Qaeda leader Abu Musab al-Zarqawi.
Committee Vice-Chairman Senator Jay Rockefeller (D.-AK) summed it up:
The Committee’s investigation into prewar intelligence on Iraq has revealed that the Bush Administration’s case for war in Iraq was fundamentally misleading. The Administration pursued a deceptive strategy of using intelligence reporting that the Intelligence community had already warned was uncorroborated, unreliable, and in critical instances, fabricated.
The deceptions continue. On August 21, President Bush, who must have known about the CIA review and the Committee report, again claimed that Saddam Hussein “had relations with Zarqawi.”

you call these facts!! my president says so and i beleive him. liars, traitors, fascists, and liberals are everywhere trying to get the truth to you. only my president knows you to protect you.
September 10th, 2006 at 9:10 amMore than 40% of Americans still believe the original lie about Iraq and 911, however.
September 10th, 2006 at 9:16 amThis is why Path to 911 must be yanked.
This is why Democrats and the DLC should have been more honest and aggressive with the public about Bush.
I think the damage is done. I think the Democrats are toast. And I think they allowed it to happen. It is so obvious that Path to 911 is campaign material and that Republicans are dropping the price of gas.
A republican controlled Senate Committee can’t even lie for the bozo. Pathetic. With Bush continuing to eqaute 9-11 with the war in Iraq I think Bush’s own words sum it up best, ” In my line of work you’ve got to keep repeating things to catapult the propoganda.”.

Yeah, isn’t it strange in the weeks before a major election gas drops 50 cents a gallon without any explanation? Could it be that Bush’s oil buddies want republicans to win house and senate elections to keep the rights to continue screwing the American people?
September 10th, 2006 at 9:21 amI’m ready to see a made-for-tv movie based on Henry Waxman’s report about the pre war disinformation campaign headed by
Bush
Cheney
Condi
Rummy
Powell
Now there’s a movie.
September 10th, 2006 at 9:26 amI’ll bet that in their zeal to place the 9/11 blame on Clinton’s shoulders, the Path to 9/11 fabricators forgot to mention Sadam. Well, at least that part of the show will be true - Iraq had nothing to do with the 9/11 attacks and Bush’s justification for invading Iraq (read his response to Congress) is as fanciful as the scene with Sandy Berger.
September 10th, 2006 at 9:49 amI’m going to try this again. The last time I posted this information, the post was deleted, and the story on the original website was purged. After diligent searching, I was able to find it again.
Thus, the crucial question raised by the Downing Street Memo remains unanswered.

Let’s approach this Senate Fact finding Investigation from another common-sense angle. Let’s say you work for a Fortune 500 company. Just to put a face on it, let’s say it’s HP, and on 9-11 a company (again just to put a face on it say IBM), IBM cleans your clock with a major new product release that destroys your market share and a new product HP planned to release. (I know this pales in comparison to tragic circumstances of 9-11 but that is partially my point). The management at HP wants to know what happened and why, it’s a business disaster and will adversely affect the company for years to come. You are placed in charge of finding who, what, when, where to minimize the damage and come up with recommendations so it never happens again. Do you really honestly believe the Board of HP would even remotely tolerate a FIVE YEAR DELAY in your report and even at the FIVE YEAR POINT you tell them you aren’t finished?
September 10th, 2006 at 10:10 amSenator Jay Rockefeller is from West Virginia, not Alaska. Please fix the typo.
September 10th, 2006 at 10:24 amGeorge W. Bush has never told the truth about anything his entire life! He is a pathological liar who cannot tell the truth > period.

And, it will remain unanswered until after the November elections.
I haven’t seen any television news this weekend, but I’m certain that since this report was released late on Friday, it has been the top story on every MSM news program…
Dream on…
September 10th, 2006 at 12:40 pmIMPEACH BUSH NOW! He’s done nothing BUT lie to us!

As Zooey in #11 notes, we will certainly not know any more about the unanswered questions of the DSM, before the elections, if we ever hear the answers at all.
It’s a sad and hard fact to realize that our country is not what it once was. Our false leaders, their failed policies, and their obfuscation of the facts, the classifying of everything pertinent, the secretive behavior, the determined destruction of the Constitution, and the advance of corporate control to the extent that profit determines everything, and we have a two-class society: the wealthy and the rest of us.
Cheney smugly said he doesn’t think the Dems will gain control of any part of government in November and we all know that Bush&Co and the RNC, aided by their fundamentalist friends, will stop at nothing to guarantee that.
Fascism will come to America wrapped in a flag and carrying a cross.

September 9, 2006
The front page article “Senate panel disputes prewar claims†by Greg Miller is closing in on the Bush administration by drawing the curtain back, revealing the sordid deception and treachery in how this administration got this country into a war in Iraq. The big ticket items such as Iraq’s involvement with al-Qaida and its intentions to use WMDs against the United States were non-existence. The source of this intelligence didn’t come from the CIA but from the Iraqi National Congress, at the basement of the Pentagon, created by an Iraqi exile named Ahmad Chalabi and Vice-President Dick Cheney. In short, every assertion the Bush administration made for the war in Iraq was a lie. Bush, Cheney, and Remsfeld went out of their way to either to ignore or refute counter intelligence from the CIA’s position that Iraq never had any WMDs at the time or was involved with the destruction of the World Trade Center. What’s worse is all this was available to the public before the war but the right wing as well as the mainstream media kept the light off the truth but was unable to bury it. That’s why there was a movement against the war before it happen. It’s obvious now why Senator Pat Roberts buried this revelation during the presidential election of 2004.

September 10th, 2006 at 5:57 pmI believe it’s time for the Downing Street memo to resurface again!
September 10th, 2006 at 5:58 pmI’m waiting for the series of lawsuits that they will be hit with next week….should be fun to watch the fireworks. Pop your popcorn, folks….that’s the “show worth watching”.
September 10th, 2006 at 5:59 pmComrades,
We all know that Bush doesn’t tell the truth. But, you’re loosing focus again! There is a greater, clearer and more dangerous threat too our party that will shortly perpetrate our air-waves on ABC’s “The Path to 9/11â€
These traitors at ABC are betrayers of our new mother land. Where I come from, this Robert A. Iger would be dragged through the streets in front of the tomb of our glorious leader Vladimir Lenin and shot in public. The producers, directors, writers and anyone associated with this propaganda would be picked up in the early hours of the morning by our State Security Chief Lavrenty Beria (The Black Hand) and taken to a Siberian labor camp never too be heard from again.
For many years I have been loyal to ABC and the Pravda (truth) that our Socialist Liberal ally has put forth in order to progress our ultimate goal; the decline and absolute destruction of America and the capitalist traitorous pig’s like ABC.
I ask you Mr. Robert A. Iger, “Have you no shame Sir
Comrades, we must not give up the fight. It has taken us many years to groom you and your elected leaders.
Remember what our great leader Nikita Khrushchev said:
“ We can’t expect the American People to jump from Capitalism to Communism, but we can assist their elected leaders in giving them small doses of Socialism, until they awaken one day to find that they have Communism ”
It’s more important now then ever before that we stand together and stay focused! We can not allow this abomination of propaganda to go forward.
We must do whatever it takes to keep this film from airing on Sunday the 10th, 2006, we only have a few hours left.
It is your duty as loyal Liberal Socialist Democrats to rise up in solidarity and put a stop to this immediately!
Senator Harry Reid, one of our courageous and distinguished Senatorial leaders from the state of Nevada, reminded the capitalist traitorous pigs at ABC of their license from the FCC. Please Senator Reid, we’re your loyal comrades in arms and begging you to use all the glorious power you possess. You must stop this film! You must push forward with an iron fist and crush this despicable display of propaganda.
If this film isn’t stopped from airing on ABC, Sunday night, I’m afraid all our efforts since the cold war and the aspirations of our great leaders from glorious years past and Nikita Khrushchev’s dreams and predictions will have been lost.
If we loose now, the great Liberal Socialist Democratic Party, we have nurtured, will decline into the ash heaps of history never too be heard from again.
You must!…. I repeat, you must contact our comrades in arms at their offices in Washington.
Now I’ve done all the work all you have to do is contact our comrades below by e-mail or call:

I really thought this thread would get a little more love. :(
It’s quite important, you know.
September 10th, 2006 at 7:24 pmI could almost hear the violins play….
Sounds like good movie. I don’t know what abc is doing, i suppose they tell a bullshit story. Probably just as bullshit as communist can tell them. I say anarchy, give people their responsibilities back and let them choose themselfs if they want to cooperate on something, no government needed.
But well, if the king is great…..
September 10th, 2006 at 7:53 pmI wouldn’t know if Bushit and this administration told the truth or not. I have just decided not to believe anything they say. I know why Chaney said the Dems will not get a foothold in Congress this fall. If the Dems controled the voting machines they could make the same claim.

What ever happened to conflict of interest as a rule ?
Karma is not a legal term so will not be manipulated by liars/lawyers or corrupt judges.
Sounds like maybe the rights’s comments are filtered out here. Got to say it though; my wife’s and my conclusion after living through and studying the last dozen or so presidents is that “W” is probably the most honest, and truthful president we have ever had. Sure, he has made some errors in judgement, but even the best do that. Back to the truthfulness standpoint, he’s a saint compared to our previous recent, very competent president. And, unlike our recent past presidents, you have got to admit, he has never said a bad word about them, even though the left are masterful at this, plus they are partisan to n’th power. It is obvious that he is extremely well disciplined. Examples of this are:
1. His ability to stay in top physical condition.
2. His ability to hold his tongue when it is tempting to publicly criticize
someone.
3. His ability not to preach when he mentions religious viewpoints.
4. His ability to keep his focus when others want to distract him
(to a fault).
5. His ability to focus, listen to and carefully consider other people’s
viewpoints in meetings (a well developed good management technique).
I think that these characteristics of the man are some of the main reasons that he drives the left nuts, i.e. he is so disciplined in our increasingly undisciplined society. It also explains why he is so popular with the solders where discipline is an absolute must. He also is extremely human; as evidenced by his very frequent shedding of genuine tears (emphasis on genuine).
As far as our corporate capitalistic society is concerned. It has a lot of bad features, but it is the best, most successful the world has come up with yet.
In short, I think objective historians (are there any of those around any more?) will eventually classify him as one of our best presidents.
