Santorum curses at reporter.
“I have to raise tens of millions of dollars because of the junk you feed the people of Pennsylvania,” Sen. Rick Santorum (R-PA) told the reporter, who had earlier mentioned the senator’s “rocky relations with the press.” Santorum “then used an expletive to describe the coverage and slammed down a newspaper.”

Santorum interrupted. “Is this Brett Lieberman?”
When Lieberman said yes, Santorum demanded to know what he was doing on a conference call for Catholic press.
“You’re not going to be on this call, and you’re not going to ask a question,” Santorum ordered.

“Being (a) lifelong Tory approaching 70 yrs (I am) appalled to see conservative leaders mortgaging social infrastructure trying to balance annual budgets. Conservatives in (the) past were patriarchs until corrupted by political correctness.”
Many of you may not be familiar with the “Tory” label. The Conservative Party in great Britain was a successor to the earlier Tory party. In other words, this man is so conservative he even sticks with the tradition of calling conservatives Tories, which dates back centuries.
The term “conservative” is used by commentators such as Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity to describe themselves. It is used by Bush supporters to define themselves. But what really is conservatism, and why are so many true conservatives disgusted by this new breed of Bush/Limbaugh Republicans?
The Conservative Party in England is characterized by moderate progressivism. In other words, look at the quote from the gentleman above: he is “appalled to see conservative leaders mortgaging infrastructure to balance annual budgets.” That is not the, “Screw all social programs,” that we get from FOX News-brand “conservatives.” Exactly the opposite, actually. This gentleman, being a lifelong conservative, is dealing with actual conservatism, not the bastardized, dishonest form the neo-cons in America preach.

Do you believe that the lower gas prices we’re seeing now have anything at all to do with the factors that caused them to soar in the first place? In other words, has the tension over Iran lessened that much? Have the refineries been able suddenly to refine more gas? Have new sources of oil been found and tapped already thus increasing the supply? What’s the reason? Because if the fall in gas prices has nothing to do with why they rose in the first place, then I believe that price-gouging is a fair description. And no, it’s not “capitalism at work”. Unless you want to say that capitalism is immoral?

The “K Street Project,” which was led by conservative activist Grover Norquist and then-House Majority Leader Tom DeLay, R-Texas, was an effort to press Washington’s lobbying firms and trade associations to hire Republicans who share their agenda. In fact it seems as though they are afraid of all kinds of things. They seem to think that if they can just pass enough laws against everything that frightens them, we will somehow be safe from it all. But they themselves have shown us over and over again, that laws don’t matter, if they get in the way of ‘keeping America safe’, by their way of thinking, that is. They will just change them, after the fact, to make the illegal, legal, and calling us traitors for speaking out.
