Heaven forbid anyone on this site actually think for themselves. How handy it is to have your thoughts about a book all drawn out for you. Does Media Matters have a section that tells us what we think of “The Grapes of Wrath” too? I have been just dying to know how I feel about that book for the longest time. I’ll keep you posted on how we all feel about it after I find the link.

I live in Texas [Red State] and I can tell you that many people are very disillusioned with the GOP. I don’t know where you get the ‘viewed as wimps’ the ChickenHawks ARE the GOP. From Cheney to Wolfowitz. Self Righteousness is selfdefeating. Bush/GOP ‘Might is Right’ is a terribly flawed logic. Fortunately, Republicans can function on their own without mandatory helpings of groupthink. Reps may tune into O’Reilly, Limbaugh, Fox, etc., but none of them demand they buy biased cliff notes instead of reading the books for themselves.
I’ve recommended that people read Carville and Begala’s book “Take It Back”, and Juan Williams book “Enough”. Clearly, your beliefs and arguments are strong enough to allow your sheep to read material directly from competing sources.

That way, you don’t have to spend your money on the book, and when the feds stop by your local library with an NSL letter demanding access to your library records, they’ll see a bunch of books written by favored conservative authors and conclude that you are not a threat. Of course, with the people we have in charge now, this plan wouldn’t work for conservatives who wish to read books by liberals, because the government would peg them as “unpatriotic”.

A desire to debate only the topics, such as Mr. O’Reilly’s comments, might produce some enlightenment. It does not require that a reader take anything personally.
Forget the GOP and Democrats. Many people believe in neither the GOP or Dem. “platforms” 100%, that is, in a manner that requires the entire platform to be accepted without question. Many people are a combination of both parties (oh no-this is truly heresy! ;) ).
