Falwell Refuses To Apologize For Lucifer Attack, Swears To Repeat It ‘Over And Over Again’

Appearing on MSNBC today, Rev. Jerry Falwell responded to criticism of his recent attack comparing Sen. Hillary Clinton (D-NY) to Lucifer. Asked whether his remarks were disrespectful, Falwell said, “I do not.” MSNBC’s anchor then asked, “So I take this to mean that will you not be apologizing to Hillary Clinton?” Falwell answered, “No, I will say it over and over again.” Falwell said it was clear his comments were tongue-in-cheek “because there’s no way that Lucifer’s going to run [for president].” Watch it:

Digg it!

Full transcript:

MSNBC: Any comparison to the devil, especially coming on the heels — of course, your comments are being compared to those of Hugo Chavez. He is the president of Venezuela, and I’m sure you saw it last week –

FALWELL: I did indeed.

MSNBC: — when he was addressing the U.N. Assembly, he called President Bush the devil in his speech. That made a lot of people very, very angry.

FALWELL: It made me angry too.

MSNBC: Is there any reason people should be are angry at you for what you said about Senator Clinton?

FALWELL: What I said about Senator Clinton is a true fact. She will energize religious conservatives about all others. Nobody who with a fair mind, open mind heard what you just played did not know that I was speaking tongue in cheek about Lucifer running because there’s no way that Lucifer’s going to run.

MSNBC: Do you believe you were disrespectful?

FALWELL: I do not.

MSNBC: Do I take this to mean that you’re not going to be apologizing to Senator Clinton?

FALWELL: No, I’ll be saying it over and over again.

Fat, closet case homosexual. Can I say this over and over again?

  2. snoop says:

he looks ripe for a heart attack. Yippee!

  3. AnAmerican says:

I guess considering Lucifer works thru Falwell, he’d know his plans.

  4. Wayne A. Schneider says:

Falwell said it was clear his comments were tongue-in-cheek “because there’s no way that Lucifer’s going to run [for president].”

To borrow a favorite Fox News technique, Reverend Falwell, there are some who say this has already happened and he’s in the White House now.

  5. lw says:

Of course Lucifer won’t run for president. He can’t. He’s currently serving his second term.

  6. Will OBGYN for Food says:

Didn’t Falwell learn how to screw from his mother? Just sayin’…

Bush ignored Osama and caused us to be attacked.

  7. Marie says:

    Arrogant SOB.
Jesus loves me, this I know,

Falwell is testing that children’s Sunday school song.

    Cankles maybe….., but not Lucifer.
A lame attempt by pumpkin head to to demonize the left after Shrub was called Satan.

  10. Dave+von+Ebers says:

Well, that’s reassuring. Here it is right from the horse’s mouth: “there’s no way that Lucifer’s going to run [for president].”

So, we got that goin’ for us. Which is nice.

  11. Richard says:

“because there’s no way that Lucifer’s going to run [for president].”

yeah, you fat pig, Lucifer can’t run again because he’s finishing his second term now. I smell sulpher.

  12. NewNameAcquired says:

You’ll be saying it over and over again even though you’ve admitted it to be tongue in cheek? Won’t your supporters get tired of the same old joke if you keep repeating it?

I guess they don’t have that much brain capacity – so I take that back. I’m sure they’ll just love hearing the same crap joke over and over and over again.

  17. Stating+the+Obvious says:

Of course lucifer is not going to run for president. He/she would instead place him/her self in a position of power and influence that is, in society’s mind, beyond reproach.

Like that of a leader of a church, or a religious movement.

  18. Mary Poplins says:

This is disgusting that this religious nut thinks he can say anything he wants. The Dems will take him down. What is coming of our America?

The Religious nuts are trying to take our country over. We have to STOP them. We need a coup or the people need to strom the White House.

  20. JesusChrist_GodOfWAR says:

Thus spake a loudmouth christian “luminaries”.

Who says the USA isn’t already a theocratic state?

  21. Tigris+Lily says:

Well, then, I can make a “tongue-in-cheek” comment “over and over” as well. Should Hilary Clinton run for and be elected President, and if she is, indeed, comparable to Lucifer–then the White House will be well prepared for her arrival since the current resident is Lucifer, himself.

  22. Dave+M. says:

I don’t mean to split hairs.. but how does the Lucifer comment being a joke have anything to do with whether or not Lucifer can run for president? Maybe I’m missing part of his argument, but the later doesn’t necessarily follow the prior, if you know what I mean.

Just because logic is a liberal art, that means conservatives feel they don’t have to use it.

  23. Will OBGYN for Food says:

Oh c’mon TP! Hustler?! Falwell and his mother?! Well documented!

Barry Goldwater vs the Religious Right

“I don’t have any respect for the Religious Right.”
“Every good Christian should line up and kick Jerry Falwell’s ass”
“The religious factions will go on imposing their will on others”

When Sandra Day O’Connor was nominated to the Supreme Court in 1981, some Religious Right leaders suspected she might be too moderate on abortion and other social concerns. Moral Majority founder Jerry Falwell told the news media that “every good Christian should be concerned.” Replied Goldwater, “Every good Christian should line up and kick Jerry Falwell’s ass.”

The five-term U.S. senator from Arizona was equally unimpressed with TV preacher Pat Robertson. When Robertson sought the GOP nomination for president in 1988, Goldwater wasn’t about to say amen. “I believe in separation of church and state,” observed Goldwater. “Now, he doesn’t believe that . . . I just don’t think he should be running.”

A few years later he told The Advocate, “I don’t have any respect for the Religious Right. There is no place in this country for practicing religion in politics. That goes for Falwell, Robertson and all the rest of these political preachers. They are a detriment to the country.”

  29. Greg+(G-Dawg) says:

He’s correct, if you DNC run Hillary, the GOP wins by a landslide. Conservates HATE Hillary like you liberals HATE Bush. But there are many more Conservatives than there are liberals in this country.

  30. Yikes says:

I just talked to Lucifer and he said he couldn’t wait to get his hands on Falwel!

  31. Yeah! says:

Falwell sits in judgement, a tenant that Jesus did not aspire to. Many of the utterings of Falwell don’t sound Christian-like at all. Maybe he should study Christianity, take Christianity a bit more seriously.

  32. spyder says:

Did someone tell John McCain yet??? I mean he needs the heads-up so he can say that it is just a joke being told over and over. Like Frum’s joke about the “axis of evil” in that State of the Union speech a few years back, Jerry’s is just being a comedian; he’s not suggesting that Hillary is evil at all.

  33. SpudgeBoy says:

He’s correct, if you DNC run Hillary, the GOP wins by a landslide. Conservates HATE Hillary like you liberals HATE Bush. But there are many more Conservatives than there are liberals in this country.

If there are more Conservatives, please explain Bush permanent 34-38% approval rating. go tell your lies someplace else, because everybody can see right through your transparent bullsh!t.

  34. MMIE says:

Hillary may not be Lucifer, but she’s still a worthless bitch.

  35. Delia says:

And so Hugo Chavez is outrageous, crazy, and evil when he calls Bush the devil, and Jerry Falwell is everybody’s kindly fat uncle when he says the same thing about Hillary?

Can’t play the game both ways. Not anymore.

  36. Jason+Baddo says:

the term Lucifer” is just a name. Hillary is a zionist supporter…so perhaps she has danced with the “Lobby” or the devil…..boooooo….nonethe less she has no soul just like the rest of them in DC.

  37. bye+bye+GOP says:

    Hey #29;

The number of Americans calling themselves Republican has fallen to its lowest level in more than two-and-a-half years. Just 31.9% of American adults now say they’re affiliated with the GOP. That’s down from 37.2% in October 2004 and 34.5% at the beginning of 2006. These results come from Rasmussen Reports tracking surveys of 15,000 voters per month and have a margin of sampling error smaller than a percentage point.

The number of Democrats has grown slightly, from 36.1% at the beginning of the year to 37.3% now.

    rasmussenreports.com

    Another Republican liar, how unsurprising.

  38. UKBristolDave says:

I don’t get it, why do conservatives hate Hillary? What has she done that gets everyone so fired up?

  39. wisedup says:

The devil: ‘Right on jerry!!!…do’in my work…HATE HATE HATE.., now tell them the next plan of ‘If you not one of my kind of christian,we will KILL you….GO FOR IT!’….

  40. Baldrick says:

Is that sulfur I smell, or horseshit?

  41. Michael says:

Give it a rest. He said she’d motivate conservatives more than Lucifer, not that she was worse than Lucifer, or likes killing babies more than he does, or wants the earth over-run with the spirits of the damned more than he does. He’s also denegrating his own movement for having gone so far off base that they no longer are motivated by resisting sin — just Democrats.

Right now you sound like a big whiney liberal. If you’re going to talk about this at all, at least go on the offensive; “Falwell admits that Christian right cares more about politics than God.”

  42. Zippy the Other Pinhead says:

“there’s no way that Lucifer’s going to run [for president].”

Sounds like Jerry Foul-mouth has a news scoop for us — isn’t he saying that there will be no candidate whatsoever on the repug side of the ballot in 2008? WOW — now THAT’s news we can USE!

Oh, and BTW, just one correction of some earlier posts — Lucifer is NOT currently serving his second term as prez — instead, that’s Lucifer’s sock puppet. Lucifer himself is currently serving his second term as VP.

  44. AustinSF says:

Jerry (the evil creep he is) is right in one respect – Hillary is a lightening rod for the right – for the entire GOP base. You better believe it. A Hillary nomination in 2008 means a 50/50 race right off (at best). The GOP will turn-out election day like we’ve never seen before to vote against her. I for one haven’t much cared for the Clintons at all like I did 10 years ago. The DLC to which she belongs is a monsterous plague on the Party, way out of touch, and has wrecked the party. I think it unfair though that Falwell is treating her like the devil himself. Hillary on the ticket in 2008 is a very scary proposition given the DEMS MUST win the Whitehouse in 2008. The devil went down to Arkansas and found HILL.

  45. God'sRightHand says:

Falwell & McCain suffer from a common right wing malady, ‘Ass in Cheek’.
It causes one to swell up in the cheeks like a chipmunk at an all you can eat buffet.
The more they eat, the bigger the cheeks get. Some of the Christofascists actually have had a cheek explode while talking. It also leaves a lingering smell of burning sulphur, detectable in closed rooms for many days.
The only cure at that point is to stick one’s foot in mouth & hope the other cheek doesn’t explode, too. This rare event may lead to foot in mouth disease, unless one can turn the other cheek. Many Preachers know this, but it totally escapes religious conservatives.
This is different than tongue in cheek, as that premise assumes a sense of humor or logic and some level of intelligence. Neither of the afore mentioned possess either.
In the aftermath of such medical rarities, many of these folks develop a need to dance with men & sing each other’s praises.
    Curious, indeed.

  46. ruskindoc says:

    Falwell’s got senile dementia – that’s a known fact.

  47. ruskindoc says:

Along with a mental disorder, what’s all the extra water weight doing around Falwell’s face & neck?? The post above mentioned a heart attack. I think that’s a given.

  48. oldtree says:

why don’t you tell us what you really think Mr. Jerry? I for one would be much more interested in hearing what he says to the “faithful”

  49. ruskindoc says:

They can dish it but they surely can’t take it, can they? They want it both ways and, fortunately, most “sane” individuals don’t indulge in double talk and double standards. As long as Falwell resorts to “name calling” along with Bush and Condi calling people the “axis of evil”, then it’s probably fair game for anyone to call Bush names. After all, I believe we started the name calling.

  50. GodfryDaniel says:

I think John McCain must have misunderstood and thought Goldwater said “kiss” instead of “kick”.

  56. Republicans are the fear and smear party says:

Republicans hate Hillary because they hate strong women. They like women with mushy brains like Condi “Let’s go shopping” Rice and Anne “I am more than a bimbo” Coulter. Neocons will try to smear Hillary by calling her a lesbian and try to scare voters by saying Hillary will have lesbian orgies in the White House. I think Dems should be able to pick who they want to run without having to appease Jerry Falwell or Republicans.

  57. Greg+(G-Dawg) says:

Why are you liberals so angry? (too funny)

If I was as miserable as you liberals, I would just jump off a building.

PS > You liberals should try being happy, just try. It’s really not that bad.

  58. Kevin says:

I will not be a hypocrite. I don’t like name calling. If you have a view point, you can make that point without resorting to name calling then that’s what you do. I think Mr. Falwell should apologize. Bad behavior does not excuse other bad behavior.

As for Mrs. Clinton, I don’t hate her. I don’t agree with her views. I don’t want the government in control of how I get medical help. I don’t want to be punished for trying to be successful. And I don’t want my tax dollars helping someone be lazy. I think people need to be responsible for themselves. I don’t want criminals coddled. And I believe the 2nd Amendment is just as important to protect as any other Amendment.

I just posted a point of view without calling anyone names. I wonder what names I’m going to be called because of it.

  62. eternal springs says:

I learned everything I needed to know about Jerry Falwell from a Larry King show I saw some years back. At one point during the show Larry asked Jerry about the trouble Jerry’s cousin, Jimmy Swaggart, got into (masturbating on prostitutes). Jerry launched into the standard “temptation vigilance” baloney. You know, how Satan is constantly putting temptation in your path to trip you up… Of course there’s never any explanation how the devil finds the time to lay in wait 24/7, with custom traps for 6 billion people, but oh well. This temptation most often comes in the form of Satan’s favorite helper: the female. Obviously, since any female can unwittingly have their sexuality commandeered by Satan, we need wary of them. Jimmy’s only sin was letting his guard down.

Surprisingly, Larry King tried to get Falwell to clarify by posing an anecdotal question: “So if you were driving on a lonely mountain road in the middle of the night and you encountered an attractive woman struggling to fix her tire, would you stop to help her?” Jerry’s answer was very revealing; he said “No, I wouldn’t stop, I would continue on to the next town and send professional help back”.

I shit you not, that was his solution to the danger of dealing directly with the devil’s tool! I’m sure Larry King was wondering how the poor guy Falwell proposed to send back, was going to manage to keep his dick in his pants. In fundieland you are not responsible or accountable for your deeds because it wasn’t you who committed them.

  63. ruskindoc says:

The Repugnants are scared sh–less about Hillary and it’s beginning to rear it’s ugly head via hate-monger Falwell (oops…isn’t he a self-professed christian though? Christians don’t say those things, do they? ahem…). They’re going to have to put out larger guns than impotent, hypertensive Falwell to smear Hillary. Hillary is perhaps the most intelligent woman in this country and it shows. Rethugs are very frightened of intelligent, articulate, classy women since they are a “male driven” organization….they’d better get used to women who can emasculate them with the blink of her eye because it’s coming. Besides, with Hillary we get the experience of having had a successful White House for 8 years along with an ex-president. How can that not help this failing country right now?

It could definitely be a good thing and probably more likely than the GOP would like to admit….if Hillary decided to run, it would take 4 GOP’s to beat her! I love it!

They started right in with her (as first lady) with clearing out the travel office and it hasn’t stopped. She tried to get a national health plan started – it had faults to be sure – but I can’thelp but think that we’d be better off today with some kind of universal health plan.
She was the “wounded” wife in the late 90’s. What did she do?

I don’t like war. If War stops the Islamic fundamentalist from attacking us, then I’m ok with it. I don’t want to see innocent people killed. But if terrorist hide within the civilian population, then that is a tragedy of war.

  76. lw says:

“I don’t want the government in control of how I get medical help.”
No one, including Hillary, is expecting you to.

“I don’t want to be punished for trying to be successful.”
No one, including Hillary, is advocating punishing you for being successful. Those who earn the most should be the ones who contribute the most to our society. If you truly want a strong defense, FBI, CIA, good highway system, banking system, etc., then I’m sure you won’t consider paying your fair share for them as “punishment”. Taxes are the dues we pay to live in a civilized society – it’s really quite simple.

“And I don’t want my tax dollars helping someone be lazy.”

    Neither do I.

“I think people need to be responsible for themselves.”

So do I. And when they are not, I want to deal with those who are not in the most cost-effective way, but humane way possible.

    I don’t want criminals coddled.

Neither do I. I want them dealt with in the most cost-effective, but humane way possible.

“And I believe the 2nd Amendment is just as important to protect as any other Amendment.”

Just make sure you read the WHOLE 2nd Amendment, not just the last half. If we only had the last half, we could not prevent people from purchasing their own tanks, grenade launchers, and nuclear weapons.

Sen. McCain is a biggeer wus than Saddam is. He’s so lame, when pres. Bush asked about his mental stability in 200 he pooped his pants and then cried like a girl. He folded faster than a terrorist being chased by a pig!

Sen. McCain lost all respectablility when he gave up his principles to suck the hot pole of Pres. Bush just because it would get him closer to the Presidency.

Sen. Clinton has bigger balls than Sen. McCain.

  84. lw says:

“Then you are for the Fair or Flat tax.”

No. I didn’t say that. You just made that up, and that would be a very incorrect assumption.

I believe the best system is a graduated tax based on disposable income. When people at the bottom and in the middle have more to spend on goods and services, and can afford to send their kids to college, it also benefits those at the top. The poor get richer, the middle class gets richer, and the rich get richer – even when the rich are being taxed at a higher rate. For an example of this, look at what happened during the Clinton years, when we had the best economy in our country’s history.

    Fairtax.org. for the fair tax.

The Flat tax is what Steve Forbs was pushing a few years ago.

The fair tax doesn’t punish people for success. And anyway you look at it that’s what the “graduated tax” does. People are not just handed a bunch of money and BOOM they are rich. It takes hard work and a great deal of risk. You don’t give the winner of the race the bronze and the loser the gold. Even the IOC knows that.

  93. bones says:

How very “Christian” of him! Don’t these a@*holes even care about even pretense anymore.

  96. Kevin says:

You obviously have never met the founders of Yahoo and Google!!!

No one handed them money. They produced a product and it was extremely successful. As for GWB, I’m not going to begrudge some inherited wealth. But the man was also a successful business man before he went into public office.

No he wasn’t! However, the “Fair Tax ” on the surface looks good Maybe. I spend close to $3,000 each year on my CPA for my business and personal tax returns. My problem , the list of sponsors all seem to be from Texas & Florida whats up with that. ? Name one Major Senator who is out in front of this. I like a consumption tax if it is really “Fair”.

  100. Kevin says:

By the way, Thank you to LW and Joefriday for the good points and the respect of not belittling my points.

You are a credit to your belief.

    1) They were handed millions by Venture, and Billions by wall street.

Why did they hand them that money? Did they win a drinking game? They just picked them at random?

I think it was because they created a product that most of the world uses. I could be wrong. But I think that counts as earning it.

    2) Successful businessmen don’t BANKRUPT every business they run!!!

Talk to some CEO’s and be amazed.

  106. Kevin says:

There is nothing wrong with Capitalism as long as it is controlled from excess

Joe, Thanks again for the good point and keeping away from personal attacks. I do respectfully disagree with some of your comment. The only control necessary is to prevent companies from making products that cause unknown or excessive harm. I think the FDA and NRC are good things. But the government should not be able to limit a companies earning abilities if they are not endangering people.

Kevin I’m giving you a shot to convert some of us. Name some big time backers/whats up with a lot of Texas & Florida backers?? Lastly do you think that those with the most to lose(Money/property) should be willing to pay a larger percentage than those with almost nothing to lose?

  108. George says:

  109. Richelle says:

Hillary Clinton does a disservice to everything that she supposedly stands for. Feminism? You liberals LOVE feminism. But what kind of feminist stands submissively by while her husband allows some intern to suck his dick?

So who cares that Jerry Falwell compares her to Lucifer? She lies and denies, just like her husband. Put her in office and it’s guaranteed that instead of promoting global democracy and stability, our hard-earned tax dollars will go to free abortions for fifteen-year old girls. Funding for stem-cell research on those same aborted fetuses. Free in-state college tuition for illegal aliens. Furtherance of dependency on the government with more convoluted welfare reforms that keep the same people latched onto the system with no initiative to get off of it.

You’re all so concerned with what some religious fanatic that no one cares about anyway has to say about someone who may TRY to run for office, but most likely won’t even garner enough support to win her party’s nomination.

Instead, you should be thinking about how the President of Venezuela says that Bush is the Devil, who’s sulfur-stink lingers after him after he has left the room. Because really, people, these are our ENEMIES. No, not just enemies of the “neo-cons”, but enemies of our entire nation. You may think its funny that Chavez is poking fun at “stupid old W”, but put him in a room with Ahmadinejad, Kim jong Il and Jintao, and it ceases to be funny.

    Wake up!

  123. Daryll says:

Karim, don’t you understand that democrats were the only politicians that were against racial integration back in the 50s and 60s?

Oh, Falwell’s quite right. He’s telling the troot. But that’s because his flock are raving loony nutcases. Hell, they’re undoubtedly like that Congressman who was pushing the “Ten Commandments in schools’ crapola that Stephen Colbert interviewed and who couldn’t even name five of them when challenged by Colbert. These are people so stoopid they wouldn’t recognise Ol’ Sparks — Mr. Beelzebub — himself if they met him at a campaign rally. It’s not a church; it’s politics smeared thick with hypocrisy.

Which may be a good reason to yank Liberty Baptist’s tax exemptions….

I don’t care what relegion one has and I will stand and fight with any and all for their right to worship ( or not ) as they choose. His death will surely be a festival for the world. And I pray daily for HIS RAPTURE.

Foulwell can kiss my secularist butt, and I already dropped a dime on his little political confession of telling his flock what to vote for. Fat, F-ucking fool. 142. Kimchi says:

Falwell’s a nutcase, but so is Hillary. I don’t like her b/c she’s got a big mouth, she shoots from the lip, and she’s still married to that wishy-washy adulation seeker who’s hellbent on humiliating her by so often choosing indiscreet trollops (why on earth did the American people elect him knowing that he only picks loose-lipped women? I guess Americans prefer gossip to national security). And he thinks all women want him – “It wasn’t rape – she really wanted me.” But Hillary’s gonna stand by her man – except, are they ever in the same town? I wonder what their response would be if they were asked to give an opinion on the possibility of Chelsea pulling a Monica and having affairs with married men… or what they’d think of her marrying a cheating man. They can’t win for losing on that question – if they hate the thought of Chelsea going after men just like her daddy, then they have to admit to being scumbags; if they think it’s ok for her to do it, they’re still admitting to being scumbags. What caring parent would put his or her teenaged daughter in the position where her daddy’s wang is national news? Yet Hillary is still married to the jerk. No self-respecting, intelligent woman with an inkling of feminist leaning would still be married to that kind of lowlife. He wasn’t even a great president – under his administration, welfare time limits were enacted regardless of the circumstances (most people on welfare have enough pride to see it as a temporary necessity); Medicare patients were no longer allowed to receive home health care for long-term conditions because, even though home care is cheaper in the short term, patients live longer, so it costs more in the long run – Clinton signed the bill seeing to it that those patients would die off sooner; and let’s not forget how he started his tenure in office: DON’T ASK, DON’T TELL. His election promise was that he’d show his backbone by seeing to it that gays would not automatically be kicked out of the military, but when it appeared that he’d have to put up a fight for that principle, he caved. The wiener has no principles, and Hillary approves. That’s why I hate Hillary.

I’m a Democrat, and I hope to god Hillary does not win the nomination. We’ll lose to any repug with a penis.

This ass-backward country is far from being able to elect a president that has no penis. Come on, get real, this macho bloodthirsty bunch allowing a penis-free person to become president… It ain’t gonna happen.

And now is no time to experiment and find out that this country needs a president with a penis, or that at least acts like one. (I couldn’t help myself)

  152. Darryl says:

If Hillary gets the Democrat nomination, I will start packing for Australia, not that she wouldn’t be a fine president, just that she has NO chance of winning. 154. EvilCornbread says:

So if Falwell can be a comedian, is Stewart a man of the Cloth?

…that doesn’t even make any sense. Please pay attention to the point I’m making and actually respond to it, rather than with some non sequitor.

You CRAZY CHRISTIANS say the Darndest things defending each others hate speech!!!

I’m about as hardcore an atheist as you can get. Please stop making generalizations about people that disagree with you. It makes you just as irresponsible as those you claim to diagree with.

And while you’re at it, please PLEASE stop representing the Democrats. We do NOT need immature, namecalling people who can’t even follow a basic point or construct a decent argument as our representitives.

  155. EvilCornbread says:

If you say a man of the Cloth’s words should be compared to a Comic.

The reverse should also be true…

Um, no, basic logic demonstrates that’s not true. Regardless, it misses my point — the joke itself wasn’t particularly offensive, and was the type of joke that you’d likely seen done by Jon Stewart. In fact, I wouldn’t be too surprised if Jon Stewart had already done a joke in the same vein.

And my question to you is (not sure if I can be any more clear): Would you be so upset if this joke was done by Jon Stewart? And do you seriously disagree in that it’s a joke that could reasonably be done by him?

And yet I can’t distinguish your posts from those of CRAZY CHRISTIANS!

What in the world have I said that’s “Christian”? Am I not alllowed to disagree with you, or happen to agree with something that Falwell says? Is our ideology THAT narrow? Must I disagree with EVERY word that he says? Trust me, it pains me to defend him, but it pains me more that folks like you represent Democrats.

WE, since when do YOU decide who’s a democrat or not?

For someone that’s an Athiest, you sure suffer from a GOD COMPLEX

Re-read the posts here, and I think you’ll find YOU are the only one defining who people are, not me. I freely admit that you’re a Democrat, I just think you’re a terrible representative based on your tendency towards broad generalizations and namecalling.

You call names, act immaturely, and have no point – but that doesn’t stop you from PROJECTING!!!

Please quote any time that I’ve acted immaturely or namecalled. (note that it would be trivial for me to quote times when you’ve done as much) I’ve also very clearly stated my points, not that you’ve done much to respond to them.

  156. eh says:

Falwell and the right wingers fear Hillary because she’s a woman. Period. Christian fanatics don’t want women in politics. They want women stupid, pregnant and barefoot. Hillary just reminds right-wing males how inferior and stupid they are. Nothing more, nothing less.

I only admire Hillary because she drives the right wing nuts…and that’s a short drive. I can’t support her because she’s too cozy towards Israel, like many other politicians right & left.

The politician that says to hell with Israel has my vote, which would obviously be changed behind my back by Diebold.

Let’s not forget Falwells Overt Racism, he’s a George Allen cloaked in religion.

“Born and raised in America’s segregated South, Falwell preached that racial segregation was the Lord’s will, but dropped such overt racism from his perspective when it became unpopular to say such things aloud. Still, from his pulpit Falwell supported South African apartheid, and opposed Nelson Mandela’s release from prison.”

When George W. Bush took office as President in 2001 and established a White House Office of Faith-Based and Community Initiatives, Falwell said it was a great idea, so long as Muslim groups are disqualified from receiving the money

What an all around great guy Fatwell isn’t.

In 1987, when fellow televangelist Jim Bakker was convicted of fraud and imprisoned [Shocked I am!]! , Falwell maneuvered behind the scenes to take control of Bakker’s Praise The Lord (PTL) TV ministry. While Bakker was in prison, Falwell led PTL into bankruptcy.

Evil crooks of a feather flock together huh?

In 2004, Liberty College added a law school, where Falwell said he hopes to produce lawyers who will be “as far to the right as Harvard is to left.”

Must be why he kisses so much Bush Harvard booty eh?

Falwell , a grown man, also thinks Teletubbie Tinky Winky to be a homosexual.

More recently, in the early 2000s Falwell twice sued an internet site for mocking him, alleging trademark violations and libel. Both complaints were thrown out of court.

Falwell can dish it out but not take it.

Please TP no more Fatwell, he has no credibility and is as racist as they come.

The thing that gets me, is these guys are all pulling so much energy into making Hillary the anti-Christ when it is clear : Right now Hillary is just plain unelectable.

It isn’t a matter of gender, it isn’t a matter of her being tied to Bill Clinton and it isn’t even a matter of Conservatives not liking her.

It is a matter of the fact that she is best known for having objected to a game called “Grand Theft Auto” for including some sex scenes, and being less then forthcoming as to why you as parents, should not let your kids play that game.

    Let me say it again

A game is named GRAND THEFT AUTO.

She then went on to tie herself to the same brands of Christian Groups that just 20 years ago were calling Dungeon’s And Dragon’s an introduction course to Satanism.

Then she voted pro the war in Iraq and as yet has not really recanted her vote or shown a real support for correcting the mistake.

The bulk of her decisions in office have shown that she is cautious and highly risk averse, with an eye to what the press will try to crucify her on rather then on what the country needs.

If the Democrats want to win the presidential elections in 2008, they need to go with someone who has opposed the poor decisions made by the current administration, they need someone who opposed the Patriot Act, who opposed the Iraq war, and who has thus far, shown himself to stand firm on his principles. The Democrats need to take the risk and run Feingold, Hillary is too much of a DINO to stand a chance.

Why would an intelligent woman scare church-folk more than Lucifer himself is beyond me. The sad part is he’s got a whole congregation playing along in his sad pyschosis.

  168. Thomas Allen says:

“because there’s no way that Lucifer’s going to run [for president].”

Since he’s already serving his second term, he can’t run again.

  169. Happy+Guy says:

You mean her husband (Lucifer) already server 2 terms from 1992 to 2000 so he can’t run against her.

  170. not+impressed+with+the+U.S. says:

Falwell, you big, fat, piece of sh*t. You stupid, ignorant, myth-believing, hyprocrite!!!!!

  171. spacemodulator says:

I think some of you might be off in your assessement of Hillary’s chances. iIm no fan, but she has big dollars and THE BIG DOG. Please don’t underestimate the notion that many people will be voting for BILL CLINTON when they vote for her. I would suggest not eating your young this time, Democrats. Why do you poop on your front runner? If she isn’t viable, let her campaign prove so. But I would suggest not handicapping the progressive’s nastiest, scappiest fighter. Don’t be fooled, Rove FEARS the Clintons.

  172. Democrat Soldier says:

Wow, B-Truthful, I guess when you get too close to the truth, the right-whiners get their nickers in a knot!

What I find interesting is their insistence that you’re ompletely worng, and they’re completely right no matter what!!!

I guess when people are blinded by their own hubris it’s easy to disregard the truth while following lies. The right-whiners are so good at that sort of thing!

  173. Happy+Guy says:

Why do you assume everyone is a Christian? And if someone is a Christian why do you think calling them one would be an insult? I can assume you hate Christians from your rants, because you are nothing but a hate filled person. You are certainly not a fact filled person. (ROTFL, ROTFL, ROTFL).

  174. Griz Taylor says:

Mr. Fartwell must have a very close personal relationship with Mr. Lucifer in order to make that kind of comparsion.

    Yours in sanity,

    Griz

  175. Garrett says:

“The average age of the world’s greatest civilizations from the beginning of history has been about 200 years. During those 200 years, those nations always progressed through the following sequence:

    1. From bondage to spiritual faith;
    2. From spiritual faith to great courage;
    3. From courage to liberty;
    4. From liberty to abundance;
    5. From abundance to complacency;
    6. From complacency to apathy;
    7. From apathy to dependence;
    8. From dependence back into bondage”

  176. Bob Davis says:

Ms. Clinton is about as bad as Lucifer and she will be shown the door to the lake of fire right after Lucifer, Hitler, Saddam, Bin Ladden, etc..

God is not a Republican or Democrat, however, He is a Conservative because He does not like the Murder of the unborn; even unborn Democrats.

It is not a choice, it is a child. Get it right and vote Right.

  177. Drew Freakin Wagner says:

You go Jerry …..Stand for christ unapologetically!! your the man
    Love ya Jerry
