Appearing on MSNBC today, Rev. Jerry Falwell responded to criticism of his recent attack comparing Sen. Hillary Clinton (D-NY) to Lucifer. Asked whether his remarks were disrespectful, Falwell said, “I do not.” MSNBC’s anchor then asked, “So I take this to mean that will you not be apologizing to Hillary Clinton?” Falwell answered, “No, I will say it over and over again.” Falwell said it was clear his comments were tongue-in-cheek “because there’s no way that Lucifer’s going to run [for president].” Watch it:
Full transcript:
MSNBC: Any comparison to the devil, especially coming on the heels — of course, your comments are being compared to those of Hugo Chavez. He is the president of Venezuela, and I’m sure you saw it last week –
FALWELL: I did indeed.
MSNBC: — when he was addressing the U.N. Assembly, he called President Bush the devil in his speech. That made a lot of people very, very angry.
FALWELL: It made me angry too.
MSNBC: Is there any reason people should be are angry at you for what you said about Senator Clinton?
FALWELL: What I said about Senator Clinton is a true fact. She will energize religious conservatives about all others. Nobody who with a fair mind, open mind heard what you just played did not know that I was speaking tongue in cheek about Lucifer running because there’s no way that Lucifer’s going to run.
…
MSNBC: Do you believe you were disrespectful?
FALWELL: I do not.
…
MSNBC: Do I take this to mean that you’re not going to be apologizing to Senator Clinton?FALWELL: No, I’ll be saying it over and over again.
Fat, closet case homosexual. Can I say this over and over again?
September 26th, 2006 at 3:51 pmhe looks ripe for a heart attack. Yippee!
September 26th, 2006 at 3:53 pmI guess considering Lucifer works thru Falwell, he’d know his plans.
September 26th, 2006 at 3:53 pmFalwell said it was clear his comments were tongue-in-cheek “because there’s no way that Lucifer’s going to run [for president].â€
To borrow a favorite Fox News technique, Reverend Falwell, there are some who say this has already happened and he’s in the White House now.
September 26th, 2006 at 3:53 pmOf course Lucifer won’t run for president. He can’t. He’s currently serving his second term.
September 26th, 2006 at 3:54 pmDidn’t Falwell learn how to screw from his mother? Just sayin’…
Bush ignored Osama and caused us to be attacked.
September 26th, 2006 at 3:54 pmArrogant SOB.
September 26th, 2006 at 3:54 pmJesus loves me, this I know,
For the Bible tells me so
Falwell is testing that children’s Sunday school song.
Jabba has spoken. Mwwahha.
September 26th, 2006 at 3:54 pmCankles maybe….., but not Lucifer.
September 26th, 2006 at 3:54 pmA lame attempt by pumpkin head to to demonize the left after Shrub was called Satan.
Well, that’s reassuring. Here it is right from the horse’s mouth: “there’s no way that Lucifer’s going to run [for president].”
So, we got that goin’ for us. Which is nice.
September 26th, 2006 at 3:55 pm“because there’s no way that Lucifer’s going to run [for president].â€
yeah, you fat pig, Lucifer can’t run again because he’s finishing his second term now. I smell sulpher.
September 26th, 2006 at 3:55 pmYou’ll be saying it over and over again even though you’ve admitted it to be tongue in cheek? Won’t your supporters get tired of the same old joke if you keep repeating it?
I guess they don’t have that much brain capacity - so I take that back. I’m sure they’ll just love hearing the same crap joke over and over and over again.
September 26th, 2006 at 3:55 pmfine example of the christian taliban — when will members of his cult start suicide bombing?
September 26th, 2006 at 3:57 pmTHAT’ THE PICTURE OF A WELL FED , UNDER SEXED SELF RIGHTEOUS UNUCH IN A DEVILS DISGUISE.
September 26th, 2006 at 3:57 pmfine example of the christian taliban
September 26th, 2006 at 3:57 pmJabba the Wingnut speaks!
September 26th, 2006 at 3:57 pmOf course lucifer is not going to run for president. He/she would instead place him/her self in a position of power and influence that is, in society’s mind, beyond reproach.
Like that of a leader of a church, or a religious movement.
September 26th, 2006 at 3:58 pmThis is disgusting that this religious nut thinks he can say anything he wants. The Dems will take him down. What is coming of our America?
The Religious nuts are trying to take our country over. We have to STOP them. We need a coup or the people need to strom the White House.
September 26th, 2006 at 3:59 pmGod-Damn Will he die already! That bloated sack of shit has been alive way way to long
September 26th, 2006 at 3:59 pmThus spake a loudmouth christian “luminaries”.
Who says the USA isn’t already a theocratic state?
September 26th, 2006 at 3:59 pmWell, then, I can make a “tongue-in-cheek” comment “over and over” as well. Should Hilary Clinton run for and be elected President, and if she is, indeed, comparable to Lucifer–then the White House will be well prepared for her arrival since the current resident is Lucifer, himself.
September 26th, 2006 at 4:01 pmI don’t mean to split hairs.. but how does the Lucifer comment being a joke have anything to do with whether or not Lucifer can run for president? Maybe I’m missing part of his argument, but the later doesn’t necessarily follow the prior, if you know what I mean.
Just because logic is a liberal art, that means conservatives feel they don’t have to use it.
September 26th, 2006 at 4:02 pmOh c’mon TP! Hustler?! Falwell and his mother?! Well documented!
September 26th, 2006 at 4:04 pmAnd this pig is worthy of T.V. time because why??? I’m just dissapointed that these jerks don’t get punched out in public places..there not civil so why should we be?!
September 26th, 2006 at 4:05 pmSomeone’s going to have to create a very large needle with a very large eye to let that turdball into heaven.
September 26th, 2006 at 4:07 pm#19, I second that wish - and may he take felow SOS Cheney with him.
September 26th, 2006 at 4:12 pmWho gave that pig a microphone? Last time i saw a mouth like that it had an apple in it.
September 26th, 2006 at 4:14 pmBarry Goldwater vs the Religious Right
“I don’t have any respect for the Religious Right.”
“Every good Christian should line up and kick Jerry Falwell’s ass”
“The religious factions will go on imposing their will on others”
When Sandra Day O’Connor was nominated to the Supreme Court in 1981, some Religious Right leaders suspected she might be too moderate on abortion and other social concerns. Moral Majority founder Jerry Falwell told the news media that “every good Christian should be concerned.” Replied Goldwater, “Every good Christian should line up and kick Jerry Falwell’s ass.”
The five-term U.S. senator from Arizona was equally unimpressed with TV preacher Pat Robertson. When Robertson sought the GOP nomination for president in 1988, Goldwater wasn’t about to say amen. “I believe in separation of church and state,” observed Goldwater. “Now, he doesn’t believe that . . . I just don’t think he should be running.”
A few years later he told The Advocate, “I don’t have any respect for the Religious Right. There is no place in this country for practicing religion in politics. That goes for Falwell, Robertson and all the rest of these political preachers. They are a detriment to the country.”
MR. CONSERVATIVE: GOLDWATER ON GOLDWATER
http://www.hbo.com/docs/programs/mrconservative/
Excellent documentary !
September 26th, 2006 at 4:14 pmHe’s correct, if you DNC run Hillary, the GOP wins by a landslide. Conservates HATE Hillary like you liberals HATE Bush. But there are many more Conservatives than there are liberals in this country.
September 26th, 2006 at 4:16 pmI just talked to Lucifer and he said he couldn’t wait to get his hands on Falwel!
September 26th, 2006 at 4:16 pmFalwell sits in judgement, a tenant that Jesus did not aspire to. Many of the utterings of Falwell don’t sound Christian-like at all. Maybe he should study Christianity, take Christianity a bit more seriously.
September 26th, 2006 at 4:17 pmDid someone tell John McCain yet??? I mean he needs the heads-up so he can say that it is just a joke being told over and over. Like Frum’s joke about the “axis of evil” in that State of the Union speech a few years back, Jerry’s is just being a comedian; he’s not suggesting that Hillary is evil at all.
September 26th, 2006 at 4:18 pmW.W.J.D.
September 26th, 2006 at 4:21 pmIf there are more Conservatives, please explain Bush permanent 34-38% approval rating. go tell your lies someplace else, because everybody can see right through your transparent bullsh!t.
September 26th, 2006 at 4:22 pmHillary may not be Lucifer, but she’s still a worthless bitch.
September 26th, 2006 at 4:25 pmAnd so Hugo Chavez is outrageous, crazy, and evil when he calls Bush the devil, and Jerry Falwell is everybody’s kindly fat uncle when he says the same thing about Hillary?
Can’t play the game both ways. Not anymore.
September 26th, 2006 at 4:27 pmthe term Lucifer” is just a name. Hillary is a zionist supporter…so perhaps she has danced with the “Lobby” or the devil…..boooooo….nonethe less she has no soul just like the rest of them in DC.
September 26th, 2006 at 4:29 pmHey #29;
The number of Americans calling themselves Republican has fallen to its lowest level in more than two-and-a-half years. Just 31.9% of American adults now say they’re affiliated with the GOP. That’s down from 37.2% in October 2004 and 34.5% at the beginning of 2006. These results come from Rasmussen Reports tracking surveys of 15,000 voters per month and have a margin of sampling error smaller than a percentage point.
The number of Democrats has grown slightly, from 36.1% at the beginning of the year to 37.3% now.
rasmussenreports.com
Another Republican liar, how unsurprising.
September 26th, 2006 at 4:29 pmI don’t get it, why do conservatives hate Hillary? What has she done that gets everyone so fired up?
September 26th, 2006 at 4:30 pmThe devil: ‘Right on jerry!!!…do’in my work…HATE HATE HATE.., now tell them the next plan of ‘If you not one of my kind of christian,we will KILL you….GO FOR IT!’….
September 26th, 2006 at 4:30 pmIs that sulfur I smell, or horseshit?
September 26th, 2006 at 4:32 pmGive it a rest. He said she’d motivate conservatives more than Lucifer, not that she was worse than Lucifer, or likes killing babies more than he does, or wants the earth over-run with the spirits of the damned more than he does. He’s also denegrating his own movement for having gone so far off base that they no longer are motivated by resisting sin — just Democrats.
Right now you sound like a big whiney liberal. If you’re going to talk about this at all, at least go on the offensive; “Falwell admits that Christian right cares more about politics than God.”
September 26th, 2006 at 4:32 pm“there’s no way that Lucifer’s going to run [for president].â€
Sounds like Jerry Foul-mouth has a news scoop for us — isn’t he saying that there will be no candidate whatsoever on the repug side of the ballot in 2008? WOW — now THAT’s news we can USE!
Oh, and BTW, just one correction of some earlier posts — Lucifer is NOT currently serving his second term as prez — instead, that’s Lucifer’s sock puppet. Lucifer himself is currently serving his second term as VP.

September 26th, 2006 at 4:34 pmJerry (the evil creep he is) is right in one respect - Hillary is a lightening rod for the right - for the entire GOP base. You better believe it. A Hillary nomination in 2008 means a 50/50 race right off (at best). The GOP will turn-out election day like we’ve never seen before to vote against her. I for one haven’t much cared for the Clintons at all like I did 10 years ago. The DLC to which she belongs is a monsterous plague on the Party, way out of touch, and has wrecked the party. I think it unfair though that Falwell is treating her like the devil himself. Hillary on the ticket in 2008 is a very scary proposition given the DEMS MUST win the Whitehouse in 2008. The devil went down to Arkansas and found HILL.
September 26th, 2006 at 4:34 pmFalwell & McCain suffer from a common right wing malady, ‘Ass in Cheek’.
September 26th, 2006 at 4:34 pmIt causes one to swell up in the cheeks like a chipmunk at an all you can eat buffet.
The more they eat, the bigger the cheeks get. Some of the Christofascists actually have had a cheek explode while talking. It also leaves a lingering smell of burning sulphur, detectable in closed rooms for many days.
The only cure at that point is to stick one’s foot in mouth & hope the other cheek doesn’t explode, too. This rare event may lead to foot in mouth disease, unless one can turn the other cheek. Many Preachers know this, but it totally escapes religious conservatives.
This is different than tongue in cheek, as that premise assumes a sense of humor or logic and some level of intelligence. Neither of the afore mentioned possess either.
In the aftermath of such medical rarities, many of these folks develop a need to dance with men & sing each other’s praises.
Curious, indeed.
Falwell’s got senile dementia - that’s a known fact.
September 26th, 2006 at 4:35 pmAlong with a mental disorder, what’s all the extra water weight doing around Falwell’s face & neck?? The post above mentioned a heart attack. I think that’s a given.
September 26th, 2006 at 4:36 pmwhy don’t you tell us what you really think Mr. Jerry? I for one would be much more interested in hearing what he says to the “faithful”
September 26th, 2006 at 4:36 pmThey can dish it but they surely can’t take it, can they? They want it both ways and, fortunately, most “sane” individuals don’t indulge in double talk and double standards. As long as Falwell resorts to “name calling” along with Bush and Condi calling people the “axis of evil”, then it’s probably fair game for anyone to call Bush names. After all, I believe we started the name calling.
September 26th, 2006 at 4:38 pmJerry Falwell is an perverted, sick, hate monger. Just what MSNBC likes to broadcast to it’s Taliban viewers.
September 26th, 2006 at 4:38 pmFoot In Mouth or Hoof In Mouth….cloven hoof, that is…
September 26th, 2006 at 4:39 pmComment by God’sRightHand — September 26, 2006 @ 4:34 pm
BWHAHA!!!
September 26th, 2006 at 4:40 pmWhat do you expect from the false profit $$$$$$$
September 26th, 2006 at 4:42 pmHas anyone asked Falwell what he thought of Chavez’s comments?
September 26th, 2006 at 4:44 pm“Every good Christian should line up and kick Jerry Falwell’s ass†- Barry Goldwater
I think John McCain must have misunderstood and thought Goldwater said “kiss” instead of “kick”.
September 26th, 2006 at 4:46 pmRepublicans hate Hillary because they hate strong women. They like women with mushy brains like Condi “Let’s go shopping” Rice and Anne “I am more than a bimbo” Coulter. Neocons will try to smear Hillary by calling her a lesbian and try to scare voters by saying Hillary will have lesbian orgies in the White House. I think Dems should be able to pick who they want to run without having to appease Jerry Falwell or Republicans.
September 26th, 2006 at 4:54 pmWhy are you liberals so angry? (too funny)
Every liberal blog is the same, all the liberals are angry and all they do is keep repeating the same old talking points.
How do you liberals expect to attract voters?
Your theme should be this: “Come with us, and you too can an angry miserable SOB. Just like us !!!
If I was as miserable as you liberals, I would just jump off a building.
PS > You liberals should try being happy, just try. It’s really not that bad.
September 26th, 2006 at 4:59 pmI will not be a hypocrite. I don’t like name calling. If you have a view point, you can make that point without resorting to name calling then that’s what you do. I think Mr. Falwell should apologize. Bad behavior does not excuse other bad behavior.
As for Mrs. Clinton, I don’t hate her. I don’t agree with her views. I don’t want the government in control of how I get medical help. I don’t want to be punished for trying to be successful. And I don’t want my tax dollars helping someone be lazy. I think people need to be responsible for themselves. I don’t want criminals coddled. And I believe the 2nd Amendment is just as important to protect as any other Amendment.
I just posted a point of view without calling anyone names. I wonder what names I’m going to be called because of it.
September 26th, 2006 at 5:00 pmPsyche meds = bloated face.
September 26th, 2006 at 5:01 pmOf course Lucifer won’t run for president. He can’t. He’s currently serving his second term.
Comment by lw — September 26, 2006
ZING! Nice.
I hate falwell.
September 26th, 2006 at 5:02 pmThanks to term limits Satan won’t be running either!! BWHAHA!
September 26th, 2006 at 5:02 pmI learned everything I needed to know about Jerry Falwell from a Larry King show I saw some years back. At one point during the show Larry asked Jerry about the trouble Jerry’s cousin, Jimmy Swaggart, got into (masturbating on prostitutes). Jerry launched into the standard “temptation vigilance” baloney. You know, how Satan is constantly putting temptation in your path to trip you up… Of course there’s never any explanation how the devil finds the time to lay in wait 24/7, with custom traps for 6 billion people, but oh well. This temptation most often comes in the form of Satan’s favorite helper: the female. Obviously, since any female can unwittingly have their sexuality commandeered by Satan, we need wary of them. Jimmy’s only sin was letting his guard down.
Surprisingly, Larry King tried to get Falwell to clarify by posing an anecdotal question: “So if you were driving on a lonely mountain road in the middle of the night and you encountered an attractive woman struggling to fix her tire, would you stop to help her?” Jerry’s answer was very revealing; he said “No, I wouldn’t stop, I would continue on to the next town and send professional help back”.
I shit you not, that was his solution to the danger of dealing directly with the devil’s tool! I’m sure Larry King was wondering how the poor guy Falwell proposed to send back, was going to manage to keep his dick in his pants. In fundieland you are not responsible or accountable for your deeds because it wasn’t you who committed them.
September 26th, 2006 at 5:05 pmThe Repugnants are scared sh–less about Hillary and it’s beginning to rear it’s ugly head via hate-monger Falwell (oops…isn’t he a self-professed christian though? Christians don’t say those things, do they? ahem…). They’re going to have to put out larger guns than impotent, hypertensive Falwell to smear Hillary. Hillary is perhaps the most intelligent woman in this country and it shows. Rethugs are very frightened of intelligent, articulate, classy women since they are a “male driven” organization….they’d better get used to women who can emasculate them with the blink of her eye because it’s coming. Besides, with Hillary we get the experience of having had a successful White House for 8 years along with an ex-president. How can that not help this failing country right now?
It could definitely be a good thing and probably more likely than the GOP would like to admit….if Hillary decided to run, it would take 4 GOP’s to beat her! I love it!
September 26th, 2006 at 5:06 pm#61…ROFLMAO!!
September 26th, 2006 at 5:06 pmHey Kevin….how do you like your precious “tax dollars” funding the murder of innocent people?
September 26th, 2006 at 5:07 pm59….Why are you neocons so angry? (too funny)
Every conservative blog is the same, all the conservatives are angry and all they do is keep repeating the same old talking points.
How do you conservatives expect to attract voters?
Your theme should be this: “Come with us, and you too can an angry miserable SOB. Just like us !!!
If I was as miserable as you conservatives, I would just jump off a building.
PS > You conservatives should try being happy, just try. It’s really not that bad.
There…now your post makes sense.
September 26th, 2006 at 5:08 pmYou liberals should try being happy, just try. It’s really not that bad.
Comment by Greg+(G-Dawg)
I want some of what youre smoking.
September 26th, 2006 at 5:09 pmGOP Talking Points = Lies, Lies & more Lies
September 26th, 2006 at 5:09 pm#39, I also wonder why they hate her so — what is it that they have against her?
September 26th, 2006 at 5:16 pmThey started right in with her (as first lady) with clearing out the travel office and it hasn’t stopped. She tried to get a national health plan started - it had faults to be sure - but I can’thelp but think that we’d be better off today with some kind of universal health plan.
She was the “wounded” wife in the late 90’s. What did she do?
Falwell is so vehemently against abortions because he’s afraid that someone will develop a retroactive abortion, and he’ll be first in line.
September 26th, 2006 at 5:17 pmWe are not “scared” of Hillary, we hope she runs.
McCain v. Hillary
lol….
McCain will smoke her, leave her in the dust. I would like to see a debate with those two. Hillary would get her clock cleaned.
McCain is “stone cold lock” for the White House in 2008.
September 26th, 2006 at 5:26 pmMcCain is an excellent example of the old goats that voters are tired of.
September 26th, 2006 at 5:29 pmThe problem, as I see it, is that Falwell is correct in saying that Hillary Clinton would energize Falwell’s people more than Lucifer would. And that just shows you how messed up Falwell’s priorities are.
September 26th, 2006 at 5:31 pmThese religious extremists are little different from the ones over in the Middle East, or religious extremists in any corner of the human experience.
September 26th, 2006 at 5:32 pmThey, and especially our dubious president, are about as far away from having any form of spiritual connectedness as is possible.
They serve only to remind us of the way that is not the way………..
I don’t like war. If War stops the Islamic fundamentalist from attacking us, then I’m ok with it. I don’t want to see innocent people killed. But if terrorist hide within the civilian population, then that is a tragedy of war.
September 26th, 2006 at 5:33 pm“I don’t want the government in control of how I get medical help.”
No one, including Hillary, is expecting you to.
“I don’t want to be punished for trying to be successful.”
No one, including Hillary, is advocating punishing you for being successful. Those who earn the most should be the ones who contribute the most to our society. If you truly want a strong defense, FBI, CIA, good highway system, banking system, etc., then I’m sure you won’t consider paying your fair share for them as “punishment”. Taxes are the dues we pay to live in a civilized society - it’s really quite simple.
“And I don’t want my tax dollars helping someone be lazy.”
Neither do I.
“I think people need to be responsible for themselves.”
So do I. And when they are not, I want to deal with those who are not in the most cost-effective way, but humane way possible.
I don’t want criminals coddled.
Neither do I. I want them dealt with in the most cost-effective, but humane way possible.
“And I believe the 2nd Amendment is just as important to protect as any other Amendment.”
Just make sure you read the WHOLE 2nd Amendment, not just the last half. If we only had the last half, we could not prevent people from purchasing their own tanks, grenade launchers, and nuclear weapons.
September 26th, 2006 at 5:35 pmPlease don’t take up valuable space on this story. There’ll be a school of red herrings before November. Don’t take the bait!
September 26th, 2006 at 5:35 pmMcCain is “stone cold lock†for the White House in 2008.
Unless he gets a Rove job… like last time.
I ain’t a Hillary fan, but Mc Cain’s brown nosing with the religious right dosent make me a McCain fan either.
September 26th, 2006 at 5:37 pmwhatever he does, don’t say “lucifer” in Spanish.
September 26th, 2006 at 5:39 pmIf Hillary Clinton would energize Falwell’s people more than Lucifer would at least Falwell is admitting that his old time religion is a sham.
September 26th, 2006 at 5:39 pmThen you are for the Fair or Flat tax.
September 26th, 2006 at 5:41 pm#73 - “McCain is “stone cold lock†for the White House in 2008.”
Sen. McCain is a biggeer wus than Saddam is. He’s so lame, when pres. Bush asked about his mental stability in 200 he pooped his pants and then cried like a girl. He folded faster than a terrorist being chased by a pig!
Sen. McCain lost all respectablility when he gave up his principles to suck the hot pole of Pres. Bush just because it would get him closer to the Presidency.
Sen. Clinton has bigger balls than Sen. McCain.
September 26th, 2006 at 5:49 pmConservatives are generally “happier” (gay) due to ignorance being bliss.
September 26th, 2006 at 5:54 pm“Then you are for the Fair or Flat tax.”
No. I didn’t say that. You just made that up, and that would be a very incorrect assumption.
I believe the best system is a graduated tax based on disposable income. When people at the bottom and in the middle have more to spend on goods and services, and can afford to send their kids to college, it also benefits those at the top. The poor get richer, the middle class gets richer, and the rich get richer - even when the rich are being taxed at a higher rate. For an example of this, look at what happened during the Clinton years, when we had the best economy in our country’s history.
September 26th, 2006 at 6:01 pmWill someone please cut this guy with a rusty piece of metal so he can get lockjaw???
September 26th, 2006 at 6:02 pmOf course, I agree with Falwell that Lucifer won’t be running for President in ‘08.
Everybody knows Bush is term-limited to just two terms.
September 26th, 2006 at 6:09 pm#84 - …Sen. Clinton has bigger balls than Sen. McCain.
And the senator from NY has more brains than McCain ever had.
September 26th, 2006 at 6:09 pmSo…if you actually cared about anything this fat old man had to say, wouldn’t he have just shot his credibility all to hell by saying such things?
Oh wait…he’s Falwell, and the people that do listen to him are dimmer than a 20W light bulb.
September 26th, 2006 at 6:13 pmWho’s this god guy you all keep talking about anyway?,,,,do you mean ME?????….signed jerry faldwell.
September 26th, 2006 at 6:13 pmConservatives learned everything they know from reading Jack Chick tracts.
September 26th, 2006 at 6:16 pmTo get any media attention these days you have to be a circus clown, like Jerry Falwell, Pat Robertson, Ann Coulter, Tony Snow, etc. Jerry Falwell deserves to be _____________________________ (you fill in the blank).
September 26th, 2006 at 6:20 pmFairtax.org. for the fair tax.
The Flat tax is what Steve Forbs was pushing a few years ago.
The fair tax doesn’t punish people for success. And anyway you look at it that’s what the “graduated tax†does. People are not just handed a bunch of money and BOOM they are rich. It takes hard work and a great deal of risk. You don’t give the winner of the race the bronze and the loser the gold. Even the IOC knows that.
September 26th, 2006 at 6:23 pmHow very “Christian” of him! Don’t these a@*holes even care about even pretense anymore.
September 26th, 2006 at 6:25 pmYou don’t give the winner of the race the bronze and the loser the gold. Even the IOC knows that.

Kevin please explain in detail how GWB ( our current President) aquired His Millions. What hard work and risk did he take to become wealthy?.
September 26th, 2006 at 6:32 pmTax that man!
September 26th, 2006 at 6:33 pmNo one handed them money. They produced a product and it was extremely successful. As for GWB, I’m not going to begrudge some inherited wealth. But the man was also a successful business man before he went into public office.
September 26th, 2006 at 6:41 pmLarry Flint was correct to call him Fartwell
September 26th, 2006 at 6:41 pmHey Reverend—-
I will assure you, Sir, that payback is going to be an absolute bitch.
September 26th, 2006 at 6:47 pmBut the man was also a successful business man before he went into public office.
Comment by Kevin — September 26, 2006 @ 6:41 pm
No he wasn’t! However, the “Fair Tax ” on the surface looks good Maybe. I spend close to $3,000 each year on my CPA for my business and personal tax returns. My problem , the list of sponsors all seem to be from Texas & Florida whats up with that. ? Name one Major Senator who is out in front of this. I like a consumption tax if it is really “Fair”.
September 26th, 2006 at 6:56 pmBy the way, Thank you to LW and Joefriday for the good points and the respect of not belittling my points.
You are a credit to your belief.
September 26th, 2006 at 6:58 pmWhy did they hand them that money? Did they win a drinking game? They just picked them at random?
I think it was because they created a product that most of the world uses. I could be wrong. But I think that counts as earning it.
Talk to some CEO’s and be amazed.
September 26th, 2006 at 7:04 pmChavez is right about Bush being the devil, and Fat-ass Falwell is his whore.
September 26th, 2006 at 7:05 pmSee what happens when any church gets a hold of your country.
September 26th, 2006 at 7:11 pmHave the witch trials begun? Oh my, maybe that was before.
“put a knife to your throat if you are given to gluttony.†Proverbs 23:2
If he can even find his throat.
September 26th, 2006 at 7:19 pmFouldwell is a master scam artist. And he and w plan major goverment strategy.
September 26th, 2006 at 7:31 pmI hope that instances such as this will illustrate just how important the “separation of church and state” really is. Mixing the likes of these two idiots might be detremental to The Constitution and life itself.
Vote anything but pukes.
Joe, Thanks again for the good point and keeping away from personal attacks. I do respectfully disagree with some of your comment. The only control necessary is to prevent companies from making products that cause unknown or excessive harm. I think the FDA and NRC are good things. But the government should not be able to limit a companies earning abilities if they are not endangering people.
September 26th, 2006 at 7:33 pmIf you buy gum, you pay tax for it. If you buy a $100,000 car, you pay the tax for it. How is that not fair.
Comment by Kevin — September 26, 2006 @ 7:19 pm
Kevin I’m giving you a shot to convert some of us. Name some big time backers/whats up with a lot of Texas & Florida backers?? Lastly do you think that those with the most to lose(Money/property) should be willing to pay a larger percentage than those with almost nothing to lose?
September 26th, 2006 at 7:36 pmFalwell believes in God.
Belief in God is dumb.
Therefore, Falwell is dumb.
Spending his entire life living in a fantasy world. What a waste.
September 26th, 2006 at 7:37 pmHillary Clinton does a disservice to everything that she supposedly stands for. Feminism? You liberals LOVE feminism. But what kind of feminist stands submissively by while her husband allows some intern to suck his dick?
So who cares that Jerry Falwell compares her to Lucifer? She lies and denies, just like her husband. Put her in office and it’s guaranteed that instead of promoting global democracy and stability, our hard-earned tax dollars will go to free abortions for fifteen-year old girls. Funding for stem-cell research on those same aborted fetuses. Free in-state college tuition for illegal aliens. Furtherance of dependency on the government with more convoluted welfare reforms that keep the same people latched onto the system with no initiative to get off of it.
You’re all so concerned with what some religious fanatic that no one cares about anyway has to say about someone who may TRY to run for office, but most likely won’t even garner enough support to win her party’s nomination.
Instead, you should be thinking about how the President of Venezuela says that Bush is the Devil, who’s sulfur-stink lingers after him after he has left the room. Because really, people, these are our ENEMIES. No, not just enemies of the “neo-cons”, but enemies of our entire nation. You may think its funny that Chavez is poking fun at “stupid old W”, but put him in a room with Ahmadinejad, Kim jong Il and Jintao, and it ceases to be funny.
Wake up!
September 26th, 2006 at 7:38 pmWho gives a shit what this douchbag says? And why do the dumbass networks put his blowhard, poofed up rug, self-righteous ass on the air?
Throw out Bush, Cheney, the lunatic Rethuglicans (keep the reality Republicans, as few as they number), and while we’re at it, let’s get rid of all these network asswipes who cater to this type of bullshit.
September 26th, 2006 at 7:39 pmJoe, All the info you need is on Fairtax.org.
September 26th, 2006 at 7:41 pm# George; I love your logic. snort.
September 26th, 2006 at 7:43 pmI thought this asshat almost died this past spring. What went wrong? I hate all these self righteous mfers. I say if they continue to be involved in politics then the IRS should pay a visit.
September 26th, 2006 at 7:45 pm#121…Richelle, why do you have to put your entire post in BOLD? It just draws more attention to the fact that you are a raving maniac!
Wake up!
September 26th, 2006 at 7:50 pmSo When will the IRS be calling on Reverand Fallwell to question his non profit status ?
http://www.usatoday.com/ news/ religion/ 2006-09-22-church-IRS_x.htm?csp=34
September 26th, 2006 at 7:50 pmRichelle, I’m just as conservative as you. But you need to rise above name calling. You’re better than that.
September 26th, 2006 at 7:52 pmEveryone just understand. Be careful because you’re mocking a man of god, and that’s a dangerous thing. Hillary stands for liberalistic views that are outlawed biblically.
September 26th, 2006 at 7:57 pm#130…Jerry Falwell is no more a man of god than you. Do you believe everyone who says they are a man of god?
September 26th, 2006 at 8:04 pmOld Brimstone Breath is at again? How much to you want to bet that he won’t be alive by the 2008 election?
September 26th, 2006 at 8:10 pm130. LOL Daryll. Man of God! ha! good one.
liberalistic? Is that a combination of the words liberal and realistic? That’s pretty cool.
September 26th, 2006 at 8:11 pmWhere’s Larry Flint (or a jumbo cheesesteak) when you need him?
Gluttony is a sin, Mr. Falwell.
:)
:::
September 26th, 2006 at 8:11 pmRepublicans are the fear and smear party, no, because 95% of clergyman are false prophets. They don’t give their congregations the complete word of god, just bit’s a pieces, which the bible says is wrong. Falwell is just alerting us about what’s wrong in our society biblically.
September 26th, 2006 at 8:16 pmKarim, don’t you understand that democrats were the only politicians that were against racial integration back in the 50s and 60s?
September 26th, 2006 at 8:24 pmBUT BRADLEY WHITFORD’S CHURCH GETS AUDITED?!?!?!?!?!?!?!
September 26th, 2006 at 8:25 pmJesus, please ensure that liberals with non-biblical views aren’t elected for seat in the Senate or House on November 7, 2006. Please help Americans to understand that Democrats believe in freedom without biblibcal limitations. Please help Americans to understand that liberals will bring more terrorism into our country because of their views. Please keep Hillary out of the presidential race for 2008. And I’ll give you the praise, honor and glory forever, in your name I pray, amen.
September 26th, 2006 at 8:41 pmOK, I’m gonna blow your minds here —
What if the Bible ….. was written ….. by the Devil?
HOW WOULD WE KNOW?!
September 26th, 2006 at 8:46 pm“Hillary stands for liberalistic views that are outlawed biblically. Comment by Daryllâ€
She eats shrimp?
September 26th, 2006 at 8:47 pmDoes God answer internet message board prayers? That was kinda strange.
September 26th, 2006 at 9:03 pmJerry Falwell’s true master is Lucifer himself.
September 26th, 2006 at 9:10 pmOh, Falwell’s quite right. He’s telling the troot. But that’s because his flock are raving loony nutcases. Hell, they’re undoubtedly like that Congressman who was pushing the “Ten Commandments in schools’ crapola that Stephen Colbert interviewed and who couldn’t even name five of them when challenged by Colbert. These are people so stoopid they wouldn’t recognise Ol’ Sparks — Mr. Beelzebub — himself if they met him at a campaign rally. It’s not a church; it’s politics smeared thick with hypocrisy.
Which may be a good reason to yank Liberty Baptist’s tax exemptions….
Cheers,
September 26th, 2006 at 9:12 pmI do believe the Rev Falwell dislikes uppity women.
September 26th, 2006 at 9:33 pm“put a knife to your throat if you are given to gluttony.†Proverbs 23:2
That certainly includes Falwell although I doubt that he could find his throat under all those triple chins.
September 26th, 2006 at 9:47 pmIs Falwell and the religous right the ones who are really running the show controlling the fundamentalist christian, conservative, republican message?
I bet Fox or Disney/ABC don’t see anything wrong with Falwells statement.
September 26th, 2006 at 9:50 pmDaryll, Fat-ass Falwell is no more a man of God than Hitler was a man of peace. He is an American taliban who would ram his ideas down everyone’s throats with a bayonet.
September 26th, 2006 at 10:12 pmWell here we are again, posting about a mean spirited, extreme fundementalist bible thumping puffer fish that has used relegion and a book written by men to hold the faithful with fear of a god and his wrath if they don’t do his bidding……This is all so much crap it doesn’t warrent our time and the troll’s are at the front of the self appointed line…
I don’t care what relegion one has and I will stand and fight with any and all for their right to worship ( or not ) as they choose. But I am insulted as a thinking person should be that any and all extremests shove their bible in my face and use it in polatics….If you’re gonna preach, do it in church but keep it out of our government……If you can’t or won’t do that then you’re bible, church business should be taxed like any business….Stupid relegious wack jobs can’t you all see how fat and wealthy these preachers are from all you’re donation’s and guess what they don’t pay any taxes…..Exempt. exempt, exempt how cool must that be…..Fill those basket’s up again and again and just laugh all the way to the bank…….Get a grip and do you’re bible quotation’s on red state ………
September 26th, 2006 at 10:19 pmHey Zooey, go to Falwell’s website and get Verrrrry uppity. (snort). :-D
September 26th, 2006 at 10:21 pmWell said, Uncle Ho.
Long time no see, things going well?
September 26th, 2006 at 10:26 pmZooey, going well enough, G’night.
September 26th, 2006 at 10:29 pmHey Kevin,
“If they didn’t work or sucked they never would have sold. Old boy network can’t get around that.”
Can you say ENRON?
ANd Richelle, if Bush was to be put into a room with those other people you spoke of, the only thing that would happen is bush would shit himself, and then curl up in a fetal position crying “mommy, is that you?” He is a coward, lying, cheatin, scumbag ROve cocksucker. His death will surely be a festival for the world. And I pray daily for HIS RAPTURE.
Foulwell can kiss my secularist butt, and I already dropped a dime on his little political confession of telling his flock what to vote for. Fat, F-ucking fool. Get one of those gus who shoot the abortion docs through their kitchen wondows to take a crack old jowls there. He can’t be hard to miss feeding his fat face through the gingham blue country kitchen curtains.
September 26th, 2006 at 11:02 pmI hate Falwell, but when he’s right, he’s right.

An excellent idea. :)
September 27th, 2006 at 12:11 amFalwell’s a nutcase, but so is Hillary. I don’t like her b/c she’s got a big mouth, she shoots from the lip, and she’s still married to that wishy-washy adulation seeker who’s hellbent on humiliating her by so often choosing indiscreet trollops (why on earth did the American people elect him knowing that he only picks loose-lipped women? I guess Americans prefer gossip to national security). And he thinks all women want him - “It wasn’t rape - she really wanted me.” But Hillary’s gonna stand by her man - except, are they ever in the same town? I wonder what their response would be if they were asked to give an opinion on the possibility of Chelsea pulling a Monica and having affairs with married men… or what they’d think of her marrying a cheating man. They can’t win for losing on that question - if they hate the thought of Chelsea going after men just like her daddy, then they have to admit to being scumbags; if they think it’s ok for her to do it, they’re still admitting to being scumbags. What caring parent would put his or her teenaged daughter in the position where her daddy’s wang is national news? Yet Hillary is still married to the jerk. No self-respecting, intelligent woman with an inkling of feminist leaning would still be married to that kind of lowlife. He wasn’t even a great president - under his administration, welfare time limits were enacted regardless of the circumstances (most people on welfare have enough pride to see it as a temporary necessity); Medicare patients were no longer allowed to receive home health care for long-term conditions because, even though home care is cheaper in the short term, patients live longer, so it costs more in the long run - Clinton signed the bill seeing to it that those patients would die off sooner; and let’s not forget how he started his tenure in office: DON’T ASK, DON’T TELL. His election promise was that he’d show his backbone by seeing to it that gays would not automatically be kicked out of the military, but when it appeared that he’d have to put up a fight for that principle, he caved. The wiener has no principles, and Hillary approves. That’s why I hate Hillary.
September 27th, 2006 at 12:18 amFat Bastard knows that Lucifer already ran in 2000 and 2004 and the Evil One stole the election both times.
September 27th, 2006 at 12:19 amLOL Falwell is so bloated full of sulfur that you can smell it from a mile away! He looks like the Hindenberg blimp before it exploded in flames!
September 27th, 2006 at 12:29 amFalwell’s joke could have just as easily been said by Jon Stewart. If that were the case, would you all be calling for his head?
September 27th, 2006 at 12:36 amJerry Farwell is bigger than Jesus. In fact, he is bigger than a house.
September 27th, 2006 at 12:51 am“Jerry the Hut” speaks. I can call names too.
September 27th, 2006 at 12:53 amYour theme should be this: “Come with us, and you too can an angry miserable SOB. Just like us !!!

Thst’s hilarious, every Republican, such as my old Boss,VP head cheese, was. He was a card carrying member of the Republican partym they even sent him a Judges Gavel [lol] so he could bang it on the desk like some despot with a shoe. LOL, it was really funny, they guy was a nervous wreck, had a presecription for every type of mental quirk, not to mention she was also institutionalized for a time, and they would watch TV or News and being the hystrung reactionists that conservatives are the sky was forever falling..I’ve met many a similiar Coulter Republican shrieking and ranting all day long and also claim to be ‘happy”
Had some money but he sure didn’t have happiness
September 27th, 2006 at 12:59 amHell you know this guy is just another one of those televangelists, if he really though the world was gonna end he would be wanting you to send him your money?
SEE?
$$Falwell: The World is ending! You, my brother, you don’t need your $$money. Send it to me instead!

September 27th, 2006 at 1:04 amSeptember 27th, 2006 at 1:12 am
Y’all are hilarious. This is the funniest stuff I have read in a long time.
But seriously… that fat bastard means nothing. He is the joke. Picture Falwell, Rush, and robertson side by side… now that’s funny…
I’m a Democrat, and I hope to god Hillary does not win the nomination. We’ll lose to any repug with a penis.
This ass-backward country is far from being able to elect a president that has no penis. Come on, get real, this macho bloodthirsty bunch allowing a penis-free person to become president… It ain’t gonna happen.
And now is no time to experiment and find out that this country needs a president with a penis, or that at least acts like one. (I couldn’t help myself)
September 27th, 2006 at 1:33 amIf Hillary gets the Democrat nomination, I will start packing for Australia, not that she wouldn’t be a fine president, just that she has NO chance of winning. Falwell is right and warning the Democrats to nominate a man. I agree. If a repug wins in 2008, I will move out of this country or attempt to cut my head off with a fork.
September 27th, 2006 at 1:37 amSecular=Secular governments, which follow civil laws as opposed to religious instructions like the Islamicism Shariah, Catholic Canon law, or Jewish Halakha, and which do not favor any particular religion.
Why does O’Rielly hate Americas Secular Civil Laws?
Why does O’Rielly hate progress, that what made America great and put man on the moon?
Why does O’Rielly want to regress America?
Why does O’Rielly want America to be like the theocratic ‘Islamofascists’?
Why does Orielly and Fox News hate America?
September 27th, 2006 at 2:22 am…that doesn’t even make any sense. Please pay attention to the point I’m making and actually respond to it, rather than with some non sequitor.
I’m about as hardcore an atheist as you can get. Please stop making generalizations about people that disagree with you. It makes you just as irresponsible as those you claim to diagree with.
And while you’re at it, please PLEASE stop representing the Democrats. We do NOT need immature, namecalling people who can’t even follow a basic point or construct a decent argument as our representitives.
September 27th, 2006 at 2:22 amUm, no, basic logic demonstrates that’s not true. Regardless, it misses my point — the joke itself wasn’t particularly offensive, and was the type of joke that you’d likely seen done by Jon Stewart. In fact, I wouldn’t be too surprised if Jon Stewart had already done a joke in the same vein.
And my question to you is (not sure if I can be any more clear): Would you be so upset if this joke was done by Jon Stewart? And do you seriously disagree in that it’s a joke that could reasonably be done by him?
What in the world have I said that’s “Christian”? Am I not alllowed to disagree with you, or happen to agree with something that Falwell says? Is our ideology THAT narrow? Must I disagree with EVERY word that he says? Trust me, it pains me to defend him, but it pains me more that folks like you represent Democrats.
Re-read the posts here, and I think you’ll find YOU are the only one defining who people are, not me. I freely admit that you’re a Democrat, I just think you’re a terrible representative based on your tendency towards broad generalizations and namecalling.
Please quote any time that I’ve acted immaturely or namecalled. (note that it would be trivial for me to quote times when you’ve done as much) I’ve also very clearly stated my points, not that you’ve done much to respond to them.
September 27th, 2006 at 2:56 amFalwell and the right wingers fear Hillary because she’s a woman. Period. Christian fanatics don’t want women in politics. They want women stupid, pregnant and barefoot. Hillary just reminds right-wing males how inferior and stupid they are. Nothing more, nothing less.
I only admire Hillary because she drives the right wing nuts…and that’s a short drive. I can’t support her because she’s too cozy towards Israel, like many other politicians right & left.
The politician that says to hell with Israel has my vote, which would obviously be changed behind my back by Diebold.
September 27th, 2006 at 6:12 amHillary’s legs are fatter than him. And she is more evil. So what’s the issue here?
ROTFL, ROTFL, duh I can say that every time also.
September 27th, 2006 at 7:47 amI wonder if Fatwell thinks little green monsters live under his bed.
September 27th, 2006 at 7:55 amHillary’s legs are fatter than him. And she is more evil. So what’s the issue here?

Let’s not forget Falwells Overt Racism, he’s a George Allen cloaked in religion.
What an all around great guy Fatwell isn’t.
Evil crooks of a feather flock together huh?
Must be why he kisses so much Bush Harvard booty eh?
Falwell , a grown man, also thinks Teletubbie Tinky Winky to be a homosexual.
Falwell can dish it out but not take it.
Please TP no more Fatwell, he has no credibility and is as racist as they come.
September 27th, 2006 at 8:15 amThat sick fat f**king homophob WILL burn in hell, cause Jesus was a forgiving fella, who accepted the weak, the underrepresented, the outcasts, the whores (for f**ks sake). Jesus spurned the hypocrites like rabid dogs. And fat f**king Falwell who is representing God-knows-how-many-inbred-f**ks will be joining Hitler and Saddam (once they off that f**ker) in hell.
September 27th, 2006 at 8:18 amPardon the language, just riles my bones that Falwell.
do you really think god likes being represented by a fat, bloated porker like falwell..
September 27th, 2006 at 9:08 amThe thing that gets me, is these guys are all pulling so much energy into making Hillary the anti-Christ when it is clear : Right now Hillary is just plain unelectable.
It isn’t a matter of gender, it isn’t a matter of her being tied to Bill Clinton and it isn’t even a matter of Conservatives not liking her.
It is a matter of the fact that she is best known for having objected to a game called “Grand Theft Auto” for including some sex scenes, and being less then forthcoming as to why you as parents, should not let your kids play that game.
Let me say it again
A game is named GRAND THEFT AUTO.
She then went on to tie herself to the same brands of Christian Groups that just 20 years ago were calling Dungeon’s And Dragon’s an introduction course to Satanism.
Then she voted pro the war in Iraq and as yet has not really recanted her vote or shown a real support for correcting the mistake.
The bulk of her decisions in office have shown that she is cautious and highly risk averse, with an eye to what the press will try to crucify her on rather then on what the country needs.
If the Democrats want to win the presidential elections in 2008, they need to go with someone who has opposed the poor decisions made by the current administration, they need someone who opposed the Patriot Act, who opposed the Iraq war, and who has thus far, shown himself to stand firm on his principles. The Democrats need to take the risk and run Feingold, Hillary is too much of a DINO to stand a chance.
